Things never happened like I imagined them."
Days Later
The tension between the couple was at an all time high.
Jack picked up on it right away. Alaska on the other hand.
Had no idea anything was wrong. It was probably for the best this entire situation was far too much for a 5 year old to understand or grasp.
"I could walk Alaska to school. If that would make things easier.?" Jack announced.
Wanting to give some kind of relief to whatever was brewing in the background.
"That would be great. Are you sure you wouldn't be late to class yourself.?" Lucas questioned.
"Not at all. Come on Alaska. Let's get you're stuff together and leave." Jack instructed.
"Bye momma. Bye baby sister. I love you." Alaska proclaimed. Engulfing his mother into a hug.
Before doing the same to his father.
Then he followed his brother's lead out of the kitchen.
"We need to talk about Taylor. Ignoring her coming by. Won't help anything." Lucas proclaimed.
"I think she has alot of nerve coming here and acting as if her presence matters. She left him on our doorstep and never came back. We waited 2 years Before making things official."
"She has no right to think about the child she left behind."
"She's a stranger and that's all she will ever be." Brooke proclaimed.
"Brooke she's his birth mother. That means something." Lucas replied.
"It doesn't mean anything. If anyone should understand that. It's you." Brooke stated matter of fact.
"Okay. I don't want things to stay so heated between us."
"This stress isn't good for you or Sage."
"I love you." Lucas proclaimed.
"I love you too." Brooke replied.
...
Brooke soon left for the store and Lucas left for the office.
Lucas was planning to sit down with his writing team and throw around ideas for a new novel.
When he was told he had a visitor. He wanted to decline the request.
But didn't wanting to get any distractions out of the way.
Taylor James soon appeared in his office. And it was then that Lucas wished he had just gone with his first instinct.
"My wife made her feelings clear. What are you doing.?" Lucas asked.
Taylor sighed deeply. "I'm holding out hope. That you'll listen to my side of things. And maybe then you'll understand that yes i gave to the both of you. But that doesn't mean i didn't love him."
"I loved him enough to let him go. Even though i've been consumed with guilt about it ever since." Taylor explained.
