Into The Sunset

Chapter 24

Author's Note : Huge typo on my end. Alaska is Taylor's. Not Rachel's son. Taylor wants some kind of visitation. Thank you for the ongoing support my readers.

When you don't talk, there's a lot of stuff that ends up not getting said."

Later on that day

Lucas looked forward to leaving his office and heading home. The day had been long. Meeting with his writing team had done nothing to help the writer's block that had been going on for months now.

His editor Lindsey Strauss was contacting all the time about submitting pieces to her and the deadlines they were supposed to meet.

Publishers were growing tired of waiting and were dropping Lucas left and right.

His office door soon opened. Causing him to look up and feel a tension head ache begin.

"I can't do whatever this is today." Lucas stated matter of fact.

"Lucas listen. You know how badly and how long i've been fighting and trying to make some kind of visitation happen with Alaska."

"I just want to get to know him. For him to know me."

"The person i was when i gave him away doesn't exist."

"Talk to Brooke for me. Get her to see i'm not trying to do anything but have a place in my son's life." Taylor proclaimed.

"I'll see what i can do." Lucas replied.

"Thank you." Taylor an expression of relief washing over her face as she left his office.

...

"Daddy's Home!" Sage exclaimed happily.

Dropping her purple monkey as she raced into the arms of her father.

Lucas smiled warmly. Hugging her tightly.

"My favorite girl in the whole wide world." Lucas said. As he placed her down gently.

"Why don't you go into the kitchen and count the dessert plates.? We need 4." Brooke advised. Looking to her daughter as she entered the entryway of the home.

"Okay. Come on Penelope." Sage said. Picking up her purple monkey as she left the entry way.

"Alaska is finishing up homework in his room. He'll be right downstairs when he's finished."

"I know you're schedule is wide open since you aren't writing at the moment."

"I have a flexible schedule with the store."

"We need time with each other. To regroup and figure out how we got so off course."

"I can feel you pulling away from me day after day."

"We sleep in the same bed but we might as well not be in the same room. We went from not being able to keep our hands off of each other to where we are now."

"We haven't had sex in months. Which is a huge concern."

"You don't kiss me. You don't really talk to me."

"What is going on Luke.?" Brooke questioned.

"Haley invited us to stay at the beach house for a few days. I already said we would go." Lucas replied.

"Sure i'll go. But what i need is for you to talk to me."

"To let me in. Because i'm lost here. You're pushing me away."

"And it's breaking my heart." Brooke admitted.

"Brooke please i don't want to get into this." Lucas insisted.
