Author's note : Brace yourselves my readers. Thank you for the support.

"He felt that his whole life was some kind of dream, and he sometimes wondered whose it was, and whether they were enjoying it.

The town of Tree Hill was set a buzz with school shooting. The the most talked about topic was Jack's death. But for the Scott family they had retreated inwards.

Brooke and Lucas had spent the past few days in a haze of shock and grief. While they attempted to put together a cermony for Jack. Something simple with people who loved him.

Family and friends took turns stopping by and staying over.

Bringing food and alcohol. But most of all. They offered their support and shared in the loss of Jack.

"How long can i stay here.?" The teenage boy asked.

"For as long as you need. You're case worker said you have to follow our rules. That you are a handful. But we're willing to work with you. If you give us a chance." Lucas replied.

Jack looked around the room then looked back at the couple.

"I've never had my own room or my own bed before." Jack admitted.

"This is home now. We want you feel comfortable and safe here." Brooke added in.

"Thank you. Mr. and Mrs. Scott." Jack replied.

"We're work up to mom and dad. We'll let you get settled in." Brooke said. With a warm smile. Before closing the door.

Brooke got up from where she was upstairs in the bedroom.

Once she heard Jack's bedroom open and close.

She planned to go straight in there. And figure out what was going on.

But then constant back and forth movement from Sage's bedroom. Brought her attention there instead.

Brooke opened the door and closed it behind herself.

She entered the bedroom to find Sage tearing apart her pictures in tears.

"He's never going to see my pictures. Or anything else!" Sage exclaimed.

...

Lucas entered Jack's bedroom to find Alaska there.

"What are you doing.? How are you feeling.?" Lucas questioned.

"Like Hazel and Gretel. When they were lost in the woods."

"Nothing is ever going to be same again."

"I feel like Jack's room. Empty." Alaska admitted.

...

Later on that day

Brooke and Sage were asleep in her room. Alaska was listening to audio books with headphones in his bedroom.

Lucas remained in his home office.

At least he was until he heard a knock at the door.

...

When he opened it he saw a familiar face.

"I know i said i would call you to set up a time and place to meet with Alaska. And i do plan to do that."

"But right now. There is so much going on." Lucas explained.

"I'm not going anywhere. I'm in no rush to barge into Alaska's life."

"I came by. For to see how you were." "I'm here for whatever you need." Taylor stated matter of fact.

Lucas hugged her lightly.

"Thanks. I appreciate it." He replied. When they pulled apart.

"You're important to me Lucas. I don't have friends. I never let myself get close enough to care. But i care about you."

"Let's get out here. Go for a run or a walk.?" Taylor suggested.

"I'll leave a note for Brooke and then i'll meet you out here." Lucas replied.
