"It's hard missing someone, but if you miss someone that means you're lucky; it means you had someone special in your life, someone worth missing.
Hours Later
In the morning
When Lucas awoke. Brooke was already showered and dressed.
Her face bare of any make up. Her hair tied together in a simple bun. She decided on a simple black top and skirt. With black shoes.
Clothing items she would take off at the end of the day and throw into the back of her closet. Never wearing it again.
Lucas got out of bed. Showered and got dressed.
"I'll go help Sage get ready. Will you check in on Alaska.?" Brooke asked.
"I've got it covered." Lucas replied. Pulling her into his arms.
Brooke took a deep breath and cling to him.
"I'm not strong enough to get through this." Brooke confessed. The emotion in her voice thick.
"That's what i'm here for." Lucas replied. Before leaving the bedroom.
...
Brooke quickly collected her emotions. And went to Sage's bedroom.
Only to find her daughter still wearing PJ's.
"Today is an important day. We have to get you dressed. We're saying goodbye to Jack." Brooke explained.
"No. I don't want to go. I want to stay here." Sage insisted.
...
Lucas entered Alaska's room. Relieved to find him already dressed.
He noticed right away the necklace hanging on Alaska's neck.
"Jack gave it to me. He told me he had his good luck and that it was my turn now." Alaska explained.
...
"She's refusing to get dressed. Or get out of bed."
"I have to stay here with her. The two of you go. You shouldn't be late." Brooke announced.
