Caitlin saw Barry sitting on his work desk in his lab. Eating Chinese takeout she noticed a bruise like mark on his neck.
"Barry, how did you get a bruise on your neck ?" Caitlin asked
"Do you really want to know or are you just making small talk ?" Barry questioned
"Both." Caitlin said
"Ok well do you remember last night at all ?" Barry asked curiously
"No I don't." Caitlin replied
"Well you drunkenly stumbled your way to my parents house leaving Cisco. At the bar worrying about you he called me. We talked as I was about to go look for you, me and my parents heard a knock. And I answer your standing there half tired half giggly I tell Cisco you're with me. I asked you how you got so drunk you told me you ordered the hard stuff. And I assumed lots of it you giggle then wrap me in a bear hug. Nuzzling my neck, mumbling something I couldn't understand. And I had just put on my apple pie lotion, so don't worry. It was completely edible. Just to be clear, god knows I wouldn't let you be drunk and get close to something that wasn't safe." Barry rambled
"Barry I'm sorry I did that it must be difficult trying to find a good excuse to cover that being on you." Caitlin said
"It doesn't bother me at all I just let people assume I had a passionate encounter that left evidence and that's that." Barry said
"You are so odd you didn't even try to hide that mark the entire day." Caitlin said
"I'm weird like that a lot." Barry said
Seconds later 3 gunshots rang out Barry saw them hit his lab window. He quickly reacted, grabbing Caitlin around the waist and flashing them to the ground. The bullets shatter the window hitting the back wall Barry changes into his flash suit. And whooshed out of the building he raced to the location where the shot was fired. He saw the man and smacked the man's head into the wall. He disassembled the sniper rifle and bagged the evidence.
The police entered Barry's lab searching the room. They saw the shattered glass and the bullet holes in the wall. Mere seconds later they heard a smack against the window next to the broken one. They saw a man hit it breaking it before he was able to hit the floor the flash whooshed in. And hit the man in the stomach forcing him to hit the floor at a higher velocity. He then grabbed the man by the shirt lifting him a foot off the ground and he vibrated his face and voice.
"You were dumb enough to shoot at a police station how stupid are you. I protect this city and you tried to kill one of those citizens. That doesn't sit well with me. Do you want to know why ?" The Flash asked
He nodded his head.
Barry leaned closer to the man's ear. Whispering something no one else could understand.
"Well you see that girl you tried to kill is my friend and coworker. I mean did you see the broadcast that Captain Cold and Heat Wave made holding her hostage." Barry asked whispering
He nodded once again.
"They did that and just my entrance alone would've shaken them down to their very core. I would've seen fear you could not get close to instilling in their eyes. As soon as they heard that sonic boom entrance their eyes would have gone wide. You would hear the oh shit we messed up big time in their voices. Then someone else tried the same as those two and he was a speedster." he said in a whisper "I wouldn't recommend trying that again."
He set the man back down on his feet.
He set the evidence bag down on Julian's desk. And he flashed over and picked Caitlin up carrying her bridal style. And raced out of the building zooming down the street.
