Also, no, I do not hate Kanon Specter, don't worry.
"I have called you all here for one singular, important purpose!" Rinko Daimon, officer at Section Zero and wife of Kamen Rider Wizard, declared in a totally-not-over dramatic fashion at a roundtable in a basement underneath an establishment, this basement not being taken care of, the woman wearing a grey jacket, white undershirt, grey dress pants, and black shoes. Said roundtable was currently occupied by four ladies, including the cop married to a wizard.
"Better be important, I was in the middle of some very important business." Tsukuyomi responded with mild irritation, the time rider sitting in a chair with one leg over the other, dressed in a white dress and cape with black leggings and white heels.
"And what business would this be?" A woman with dark brown hair, Natsumi Hikari, girlfriend, best friend, and should-be wife of a certain former destroyer of worlds who for some reason would not just pop a certain question already, replied. Natsumi was dressed in royal blue thigh high socks, black shoes, blue shirt and skirt, and a white leather jacket which had a royal blue silhouette of a bat pinned on the left breast of the clothing.
"None of your business…for now." Tsukuyomi said ominously, the fangire princess being simultaneously scared and slightly into the dark aura emanating from the time princess.
"Hey uh…where are Sakura and Hana?" Yua asked, deciding to ignore the shiver of fear (and something else) she was getting from the dark aura covered white clad princess.
"Oh they're off on their own adventures." Rinko said. "They're still waiting for the Rider Redesign Business to reopen so they decided to go off and do some stuff on their own."
"Ah…"
"Anyways, that's not important!" Rinko cut to the chase. "We are here…" She swiped the table, a screen with edges shaped like magic runes appeared above the table, showing a picture of the four's rider forms, plus those of Izu, Sakura and Hana, and also some silhouettes surrounding them. "To discuss recruitment!"
…
…
"...You called us out here for that?" Yua deadpanned.
"I'm leaving." Tsukuyomi said flatly, getting up from her chair and starting to walk off.
"Whoa whoa wait wait wait!" Rinko called out, grabbing her hand. "This is important business!"
"And so is mine." Tsukuyomi responded.
"This could increase our ranks! This could determine the very future of this team!"
"...Rinko all the members so far are just close friends who've decided to hang out for fun and help each other out with stuff."
"Yeah, uh…is this really necessary?" Yua agreed. "I mean, I got work to do anyways, and I'm not sure this is more worth my time than-"
"Going through redundant stacks of paper because certain people higher up can't be bothered to work on an easier system?" Rinko asked with a raised eyebrow.
"..." Yua stopped and thought for a moment. "...get me a gallon of coffee and I'm in."
"Good!" Rinko beamed, gently leading Tsukuyomi back to the table.
"Rinko…" Tsukuyomi growled.
"Oh come on, pleassssse?" Rinko begged with puppy dog eyes.
"...Nope, not gonna fall for it, nope!" Tsukuyomi crossed her arms, turning away, peeking at her after a moment.
Big mistake.
Rinko put in the pout as well.
"..."
Everyone looked at her in anticipation.
…
"Fine." Tsuyomi said, Rinko cheering, pecking her cheek and leading her back to her seat, getting into her own.
"After we had inducted Hana into the ranks some time ago during that whole mess with her sister, I had been looking through various other options for recruits, and I've compiled a list for us to discuss." Rinko told everyone, bringing up a list on the maybe magic maybe techno screen. "There were some I had considered, but for various reasons aren't on here, such as Femme."
"Oh hey, I ran into her the other day!" Tsukuyomi noted as the image of the swan themed Advent rider was brought up.
"Oh, you did?" Rinko asked.
"Yeah, when I was investigating some temporal anomalies. Apparently she and some other Ryuki riders got their memories restored during this whole big adventure years ago. They mostly lead normal lives now, but they'll come to Legend Rider hangouts and help out in big crossovers. I think she and Shinji are married nowadays."
"Aw, that's sweet!" Rinko grinned.
"It really was." Natsumi smiled. "Me and Tsukasa went there years ago. I think this was before that whole Super Hero Taisen event."
"Oh you mean before Daiki decided to be a petty manchild about Tsukasa teaming up with Marvelous and deceiving everyone in a plan to stop Dai-Zangyack and Dai-Shocker?" Tsukuyomi asked.
"To be fair, Tsukasa is sometimes a pain to deal with." Natsumi said jokingly.
"To be fair, most people's reactions to that wouldn't be to complete the villains' plan just because your best friend deceived you on something for the greater good."
Natsumi shrugged in agreement. She had a point. "And he was doing so well…" She muttered, shaking her head in disappointment.
"Anyways, I approached Femme with an invitation, but she's not interested." Rinko explained.
"Might be because she's married. With a kid." Tsukuyomi told her blankly.
"..." Rinko blinked. "NOT FOR THAT! I meant just being a teammate in general!"
Tsukuyomi giggled.
"Fruit Jesus, is that all I am to you? Just the kind of lady who's only into that?" Rinko said with exaggerated offense.
"I can answer with the truth, or we can stay friends. Which one will it be?" Tsukuyomi responded, raising an eyebrow.
Rinko did a faux gasp. "My word, Tsukuyomi! And I thought we were friends!"
"Oh you thought wrong."
"Is this REALLY important?" Yua asked, rubbing her coffee deprived face.
"...sorry." Rinko and Tsukuyomi apologized.
Rinko cleared her throat, bringing up the first person officially on the list. "Akiko for starters."
"She's a rider?" Yua asked, surprised.
"Oh, no, well, sort of…she was one in a dream during this whole thing with a dream Dopant, long story."
"Why is she on here, then?"
"Because she was technically a rider once, plus we teamed up a bit, and as George said, if our respective seasons…of our lives were hypothetically made into tv shows, we'd be the main or secondary female leads."
"...seems like a stretch." Yua deadpanned.
"Honestly, yeah…I mean, maybe she can be support or an honorary member, but…" Tsukuyomi shrugged.
"Yeah, I figured, just thought I might bring it up in case we could make an argument for it." Rinko said, pressing a button. "Akiko's out, next up is Reika." An image of Kamen Rider Sabela appeared.
"Oh…" Yua's nose wrinkled up. "Her."
"What?" Rinko asked.
"...how well do you know Reika?"
"I met her around when we had that whole adventure with Hana and Sakura."
"...and are you aware of a certain…uh….quirk of hers?"
"...what?"
Tsukuyomi laughed awkwardly. "Uh…do you know those jokes about how Makoto Fukami might be into his sister?"
"Oh! Yeah, he doesn't seem to like those." Rinko noted.
Kamen Rider Specter, holding back an attack by a demon with his Gan Gun Hand, suddenly sneezed in battle, causing him to stumble and accidentally send the demon stumbling forwards, his foe being met with a kick to the face by Kamen Rider Ghost.
"You alright, Makoto-nii-chan?" Takeru asked his brother-in-law.
"Phew…yeah…" Makoto shook his head. "Just a nasty sneeze, is all."
"..."
"..."
…
"..." Rinko's face fell, turning pale. "You're kidding."
"I'm not." Tsukuyomi told her.
"Unfortunately…" Yua said.
"In fairness, though," Natsumi brought up. "She doesn't seem to be like that anymore, plus I've heard she's going steady with Magine."
"Who?" Yua asked.
"Pink ranger of a Sentai from another world."
"Ah. That's good."
Rinko nodded in agreement, color returning to her face. "Well…thoughts?"
"...I…guess if she's no longer like that, then yes. She does seem to be a kind person and is very much a hero in her own right. If she wants to join, I say we let her." Tsukuyomi conceded.
"...Alright, agreed." Yua nodded. "Hey wait, Natsumi, how do you know all that-"
"ANYWAYS I'M IN AGREEMENT!" Natsumi said quickly.
"Ok, Reika's an acceptable candidate!" Rinko grinned, pressing an "approve" button on the screen. "I also considered Sophia, but she said she's busy running the Northern Base of the Sword of Logos."
"...does she even do anything there?" Yua asked. "From what I've heard, she was…kinda just there all the time. A few riders even said they kinda forgot she was kidnapped for a time with how little she did."
"..." Rinko blinked. "...that is a good point…"
"Think she gets bored?" Natsumi asked.
"I'm sure she's fine!" Rinko answered. "...I think…?"
Flashback
"You sure?" Rinko asked, leaning on the railing on the second floor of the Northern Base.
"I'm sure." Sophia said with a smile, with just a twitch of a frown.
"...positive?" Rinko asked, a slight bit disappointed.
"Yep, absolutely! I'm perfectly fine here! Just…doing my job! …doing….my job…." She repeated, trying to fight back a frown and the madness of boredom in her eyes.
"Ok…see you around!" Rinko told her with a wink, walking off.
End of flashback
"Anyways," Rinko said, switching to another screen, this one of Kamen Rider Poppy. "Poppy!"
"Oh, Poppy!" Yua grinned. "Wait, but isn't she a doctor?"
"Nurse," Rinko corrected. "And yes, but while she does indeed do some medical stuff, she mostly just fights alongside the others and lets everyone know when a Bugster infection is happening and some tips about it. So I think she might have time for us here."
"Ah, alright." Yua nodded. "Well, I'm for it."
"You seem rather quick on that decision." Natsumi teased.
"Oh shut it, she's just a kind person!"
"And pretty adorable." Tsukuyomi added.
Everyone nodded.
"Kind of energetic, though." Rinko commented. "Not that I'm against energetic people, just…you sure you won't find her a bother, any of you?"
"As long as she isn't fed sugar, she's good." Yua answered.
"...why is that?" Tsukuyomi asked.
"...you weren't there when she was fed 30 chocolate bars and smoothies…" Yua answered with a haunted look on her face.
Flashback
A pink blur was zooming all across the battlefield in a standard Henshin Hero quarry, sending various mooks flying.
"Oh…my…" Valkyrie gasped, observing the battle while fending off some Masquerade Dopants.
"Heh…that's my girlfriend for you…" Emu, in his own Rider form, commented, chuckling.
"Is…she gonna be ok?" Valkyrie asked.
"..." Sabela stared at the blurring form with a far off look in her eyes under her helmet. "Just like Magine…so bright, and happy, and pink…"
"PIPOPAPOPOWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!" Kamen Rider Poppy yelled as she glowed with a pink aura, zooming between more powerful resurrected monsters like a ping ball machine.
"Fascinating!" Philip spoke from his side of W, walking up next to Emu. "So a sentient video game character from a dancing game gains more power, energy, and happiness from exposure to sweets! How thrilling!"
"Oh, not again!" Shotaro groaned. "Come on, Philip, we don't have the time for that!"
End of Flashback
Yua shivered at the memory. "It took her hours, HOURS, to calm down…it was like staring in the abyss, and the pink cute puffball stared back."
"..." Rinko blinked. "Ooooh….kay... .so, is everyone in agreement with bringing her in or not?"
"I'm still in, just…don't feed her sweets. Ever." Yua told her.
Tsukuyomi nodded along with Natsumi.
"Ok!" Rinko pressed the approve button. "Onto the next one! Alia!" An image of Dark Necrom P appeared.
"..."
"..."
"..."
…
Everyone was silent for a minute.
"...who?" Yua asked.
"Alia! Y'know, Kamen Rider Dark Necrom P?" Rinko said.
…
…
…
"No idea who that is." Yua answered.
"Me neither." Natsumi added.
"Nope." Tsukuyomi shrugged.
Rinko pouted before sighing. "Ok, she's Kamen Rider Necrom's sister. She only transformed a total of one time during the entirety of Ghost's series…of adventures, and she lost."
"...so…she only transformed one time ... .lost…and her rider form is just a knock off of her brother's?" Yua asked, staring sadly at the rider's image.
"Unfortunately." Rinko nodded.
"...Ok now I feel bad for her." Yua admitted.
"Yeah, she wasn't even a bad person or anything. Her one time transforming was her trying to stop her evil brother. Not Necrom, he was good by this point, I mean the other one."
"Dark Ghost?" Yua asked.
"No, the other one."
"...Who?" Natsumi asked.
"...Adel?"
"..." Tsukuyomi snorted.
"What?"
"Hello from the other side!" Natsumi laughed.
Rinko rolled her eyes. "Point is! I think she deserves our help and friendship."
"And her own rider form." Natsumi added in, wiping tears from her eyes from her laughter.
"So, everyone agreed?"
"Agreed." Tsukuyomi added, holding back some laughter. "Adel…"
"Sure, why not?" Yua added in.
"Yeah, same." Natsumi agreed, giggling.
Rinko hit the approve button, deadpanning at Natsumi. "Are you done?"
"...I think so." Natsumi replied. "Oh, wait, one more-HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" She laughed.
Rinko rolled her eyes, switching to the next candidate. "Kanon Fukami's next. Thoughts?" The screen showed Kamen Rider Kanon Specter.
"...right, Specter's sister…" Yua muttered, staring at the screen.
"...what is it?" Rinko asked.
"You ever notice she looks like Kirama Pink?" Yua asked.
Everyone looked at the screen.
"Oh yeah, she kinda does." Tsukuyomi chuckled.
"Yeah…yeah she does." Natsumi giggled, calming down.
"Are you DONE now?" Rinko asked, exasperated.
"Yes, I am."
"Good." Rinko shook her head. "Anyways, Kanon Fukami, in recent years she became Kamen Rider Kanon Specter."
"..."
Everyone stared blankly.
"...She just…took her brother's rider name and…put her own name in front of it…" Yua said in disbelief.
"To be fair, we have several riders named after themselves." Tsukuyomi pointed out.
"Yes, but this is like…I mean she just slapped her own name in front of it and called it a day."
Elsewhere, Kanon Fukami sneezed.
"Well what would you have called it?"
"I dunno, if she wanted to pay tribute to her brother, Spectra?"
…
…
"I actually like that-" Natsumi commented.
"SO IS SHE ELIGIBLE OR NOT?" Rinko cut in.
"...Well, I think so." Yua sighed. "I think we should give her a few pointers about originality, though, if she decides to join."
"Serval Tiger." Natsumi pointed out blankly.
"I DIDN'T DESIGN THE DAMN THING!"
"I think she's good." Tsukuyomi commented. "If she wants to and is available, that is."
"But of course. Natsumi?"
"..." Natsumi was staring far off into the distance.
"Oi," Rinko snapped her fingers in front of the fangire princess, snapping her out of her thoughts.
"Oh, sorry!" Natsumi apologized. "Just thought about how she and Kirama Pink look alike again, and then I got to thinking of both of them at the same time and-"
"Let's get off this train of thought before it arrives at its inevitable destination!" Yua cut in quickly.
"You're right!" Rinko answered, moving to press the approve button.
"Wait!" Yua said. "...are we sure she's not like Reika with the whole…y'know…"
"Oh please!" Rinko replied, waving her hand dismissively. "She's not like that! …I'm pretty sure."
Yua raised an eyebrow.
"I'm sure it's fine!" Rinko insisted, pressing the approve button. "Onto the next one, Kamen Riders Racer and Medic!" Two images popped up, one of a blue colored Drive rider with a belt and brace similar to Drive's equipment, with a lavender tire going around her torso, some vague police motifs incorporated into the armor and suit, and another of a woman in a silver suit and armor with a golden scarf flowing around her neck and hips, a faceplate that was black with red eyes, her armor having red highlights all over.
"...Never heard of those two." Yua said flatly.
"Neither have I." Natsumi added in.
"I think I might have…" Tsukuyomi muttered, rubbing her chin.
"They're relatively recent." Rinko answered. "Racer is Kiriko Shijima, Drive's wife. After so many cases of Belt-san needing to come out of his literal retirement hole, he decided he might as well leave some equipment for the Drive family to use to help out in crises so he can continue with his nap until humanity can be 100% trusted with his technology."
"...that kinda implies he'll never ever wake up, doesn't it?" Yua asked. "Since while most people can be trusted to use tech safely, no piece of tech is safe from being misused by someone."
"..." Rinko paused. "...Damn, that's sad…that means he'll only ever see his friends in crises…"
"Poor everyone there…" Natsumi commented, frowning and shaking her head.
"Anyways, Medic is…well, Medic roidmude, after she and the other three Roidmudes -Heart, Brain, and Chase- were resurrected. She and the others were outfitted with rider tech as well so they could also help out more."
"Ah." Yua nodded. "...you sure Drive and Heart would be ok with this?"
"What do you mean?" Rinko asked, blinking.
"Their girlfriends spending lots of quality time with other girls, everyone in tight outfits, with the founding four members having…well, relations, so to speak…you don't think that'd send the wrong signals?"
"Nah, I'm sure it's fine!" Rinko waved her off.
"...if this blows up in your face…" Natsumi chuckled.
"Shut your mouth or no cuddle times."
"Make me." Natsumi stuck her tongue out.
"I am surrounded by children…" Yua sighed, shaking her head.
"So, all in favor?" Rinko asked.
"Aye!" The other three chorused.
"Though I insist that we at least try to make it clear to their partners that, y'know, nothing's going on." Yua added.
"I doubt they'll even ask." Rinko insisted.
"Don't come crying to me, then, if they end up taking issue or concern with this."
Rinko pressed the approve button on both of the images. "Now, unfortunately, I couldn't really find any female Gaim Riders that're still alive-"
"What're you talking about? Malika's still alive." Tsukuyomi cut in.
"She is?" Rinko blinked.
"Yeah, haven't you read the newsletters? She's part of the Gaimist Pantheon."
"...OH that!" Rinko facepalmed. "I…hadn't even considered that might be a thing…is every one of the riders a god there?"
"...Kinda yes, kinda no…" Tsukuyomi waved her hand a bit, uncertain. "It's complicated."
"Sounds like a story for another time. But anyways, yeah, Sylphi and Idunn are dead last I checked…" Rinko looked to Tsukuyomi for confirmation.
"...I'll have to check in with Mai for that." Tsukuyomi shrugged. "And no, she's still not a rider."
"That's a shame." Rinko shook her head.
"Is it though?" Yua asked. "She never seemed like the type to want to fight anybody."
"...Yua, most riders are people who don't want to fight but are forced by something or someone to do so." Rinko deadpanned.
"...fair point." Yua conceded.
"I can see if Malika's up for joining while I'm at it." Tsukuyomi offered.
"That'd be lovely." Rinko nodded.
Yua shrugged. "Would be nice to have a goddess on our side."
Rinko nodded, switching to the next image. "I also have another candidate lined up, Mayu Inamori, formerly Kamen Rider Mage, now Kamen Rider Amber." An image of a black and silver suited figure with amber colored armor on her chest, hands, and faceplate with a witch's cap was brought up. "After years of fighting as a mere Mage, she's recently evolved into her own Rider. I've been personally training her along with Haruto when he has the time, and she's grown quite capable on her own. She's even up for joining if we'll have her." She explained, a proud smile on her face.
"How good is she?" Yua asked.
"Well, when she started out, she was a Mage, someone dubbed by Wiseman to be about on par with Haruto's Dragon forms. Nowadays…she's probably at least on par with All Dragon."
"...Wow…"
"And you're sure you're not exaggerating a bit due to teacher pride?" Tsukuyomi raised an eyebrow.
Rinko pouted. "So mean…"
Tsukuyomi giggled.
"For your information, I'm not exaggerating!"
"Sure, let's see her give Phoenix a buddy in the sun and then we'll talk."
Rinko glared. "We'll see who's laughing, then!"
"I'm not laughing, though."
"You know what I mean!"
"Well, regardless, if you can vouch for her, I think she's good." Yua said. "How long has she been doing this?"
"About a decade or more." Rinko beamed.
"...wow…"
"I'd also like to see what she can do." Natsumi added in.
"...with this group I never know what kind of context y'all could mean by that…" Yua sweat dropped.
"I'm in with her joining. Just so I can laugh when Rinko's proven wrong." Tsukuyomi gave a shit eating grin.
Rinko pouted, pressing the approve button. "Anyways, next up is Nadeshiko."
"No." Yua said firmly.
"What, why not?" Natsumi asked.
"She's too sweet and innocent for this group."
"What do you mean?" Tsukuyomi asked.
"..." Yua raised an eyebrow.
"...yeah you might be right."
"Oh come on, she's adorable! She'd make an excellent member." Natsumi pouted.
"Natsumi, no."
"Natsumi, yes."
"I'm also for this!" Rinko added in.
"It seems we are half in half with this debate." Tsukuyomi commented.
"Indeed." Natsumi agreed, standing up. "And that means one thing!"
Rinko stood up from her seat. "And one thing only!"
"...Lady Mai and Zea, give me strength…" Yua muttered, exasperated.
