Secret Crisis: The Kang Dynasty Chapter 3
Manhattan, 5 minutes earlier
Spider-Man was swinging through the streets on patrol, clearing his head. Still shaken up over what happened earlier in the morning, Peter knew the best thing to take his mind off of things was to suit up and be Spider-Man. But as he was swinging along he lands on the roof of a building to oversee the traffic of New York. A tear in reality opens up as he sees something falling from the sky. Or should I say, someone.
"Oh God!"
The eyes on Peter's mask widen as the webslinger leaps into action.
A teenage girl on a star spangled themed suit with a mysterious golden scepter was falling from the reality tear possibly falling to her death. She desperately tried to reach for her weapon knowing it could save her but she was in such a free fall, she was only mere inches away from grasping it. She was falling fast.
She was inching closer to the streets below only to be swept up by Spider-Man.
"I got you!" he assured.
"Where am I? Who are you?" Asked the girl.
"Well, you're in New York City being saved by your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Fasten your seat belts!" said Spider-Man.
The two landed on the nearest rooftop with Peter holding the golden staff weapon.
"Thanks for flying air Spidey! Oh right. This belongs to you I assume" said Spider-Man.
"Be careful with that! It's very important and powerful!" said the girl taking her staff back.
"Oh I'm sorry, my bad. You mind telling me who you are at least? Where you came from?" Asked Peter.
"I'm from Blue Valley. *takes off mask* My name is Courtney Whitmore. This is the Cosmic Staff. I go by the name Star Girl and where I'm from, I'm a superhero." Explained Courtney.
"Well then, since we're doing the unmasking of the secret identity thing where no one's looking. *takes off mask* My name is Peter Parker. I'm Spider-Man" he said extending his hand out.
"Nice to meet you Spider-Man. Listen, whatever got me here, I'm likely not on my earth anymore. I'm sure this is a long shot but, you wouldn't happen to know The Flash. Do you?" Asked Courtney.
"The Flash? Yeah I know him. We saved the world a few times and the Multiverse too. I can get you to him if you want?" Peter offers.
"Yeah. Yeah that'd be great actually" said Courtney.
But that was cut short as the sounds of car crashing and explosions were heard across the distance.
"The hell?" Asked Peter feeling his Spider Sense go off.
"Heroe time?" Asked Courtney.
Peter puts on his mask as he says,
"Hero time!"
Courtney puts her back on ready to join Spider-Man to save the day.
"Hang on tight!"
The two then leap into action en route to save the day.
They reached the streets as Courtney frees herself and rides her cosmic staff.
"No way that's awesome!" shouts Peter.
"CAR!" shouts Star Girl as a car was tumbling around about to hit a woman and her baby in a stroller.
Spider-Man quickly webs up the car in a giant web.
"You guys okay?" Asked Spider-Man getting the mother and child to safety.
Meanwhile Star Girl was sweeping people off the streets away from the traffic and debris as best she could.
Spider-Man webbed up people out of harms way too trying to find the source of the attack.
The two heroes then came across a young girl in a denim jacket running for her life as she ran into a bus.
"What is she running from?" Asked Courtney.
Then a portal from the Dark Dimension opens as out came Doctor Strange.
"Doctor Strange? Where have you been?" Asked Spider-Man.
"I've been busy dealing with an incursion. Who's this?" Asked Strange.
"Oh right Doctor Strange, this is my new friend from another Earth, Uh Courtney this is Doctor Stephen Strange, he's the Sorcerer Supreme" Explained Peter.
Then the bus carrying the girl lifted up in the air by an unknown force as screaming was heard.
"I got this." said Doctor Strange as he uses a decloaking spell to reveal the hidden entity. A giant one eyed octopus monster.
"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!" shouts Spider-Man
Doctor Strange then splits the bus into panels as the girl was hanging on for dear life with the monster trying to grab her with Strange then using the panels to chop off a tentacle with telekinesis.
The girl falls as Doctor Strange throws the Cloak of Levitation to catch her. He then puts the bus back together and smacks the octopus monster on its head.
"You okay?" Asked Spider-Man.
"LOOK OUT!" shouts the girl.
Doctor Strange conjures a giant buzz saw to slice the bus in half.
"Do I know you?" Asked Strange looking at the girl with a semblance of rememberance.
"WATCH OUT!" Shouts Star Girl.
The octopus monster swipes Doctor Strange with its tentacle into a nearby diner.
"KID RUN!" shouts Spider-Man
However Spider-Man would get ensnared by the monster trapped in its grip.
Star Girl quickly fired a energy blast on the tentacle freeing Spider-Man.
"Go get your wizard friend!" said Courtney.
"Okay!" said Spider-Man reaching Doctor Strange.
"C'mon Doc wake up!" Peter shaking him awake.
Meanwhile Courtney was blasting away at the octopus monster angering it as she then hits the bullseye of its eye.
"Gotcha" said Courtney as she used her staff to fly above the creature to look for the girl.
"Where is she?"
Then the gets grabbed as her staff leaves her grip and falls to the ground.
"SPIDER-MAN!" she shouts out.
"Oh no! Uhh. I'll be back Mr. Doctor Strange's cape." said Peter swinging back into action.
Peter sees the staff and webs it over to him as he uses it to bonk the monster on its eye only to be swatted away but grabs Courtney aa the two tumble down.
The monster then finally return its attention onto the girl as she was actually right underneath it. So it uses its eye to find her. The girl then ran for her life with the monster in hot pursuit as it finally grabs her.
However a portal opens as out came Wong with the save. Wong then conjured swords as he runs into battle against the giant beast buying the girl time to escape. He slices and leaps over the tentacles launching the bladed weapon just underneath the monster's eye. However the monster launched Wong into the air and ensnared him with a tentacle. However he would be freed by none other than Sara Lance armed with Loki's sword to slice the tentacle in half as she lands in front of the girl.
Sara turns around to see that it was indeed the girl from her dream last night.
"You"
The girl then ran up to Sara giving her a hug of relief.
The monster then focused its attention at the two as it began to pursue.
"RUN!" shouts Sara grabbing her hand trying to get her to safety.
The cloak of levitation was still trying to slap Strange awake as it noticed the monster chasing the two women. So it flies into Sara and flew the two to higher ground. But was intercepted by a tossed Motorcycle as Sara leaves the girl on a ledge as she and the cloak crash into a fire escape.
Doctor Strange final comes too to see the monster on a Rampage. He goes to help up Wong and Spider-Man and Star Girl return to the fight.
"That thing is gonna kill her if we don't stop it" said Spider-Man.
"Who's this?" Asked Wong.
"My new friend from the Multiverse." Explained Spider-Man.
"Star Girl" said Courtney.
"Welcome to the circus Star Girl" said Strange as he and Wong then conjured the Chains of Krakkan onto the beast.
Spider-Man then helps by tossing a weblines at the beast giving one to Courtney to hold.
The four then with all their might tried to hold the monster at bay only to be dragged along as it climbed up.
A tentacle goes to grab her as it took parts of the ledge down with it. So Doctor Strange uses a green flame and tosses it through the chain to the monster as Star Girl fired another blast from her cosmic staff for good measure.
The monster then took notice, swiping the heroes with Strange, Courtney and Peter grabbed with Wong falling.
"Hang on!" said Courtney throwing the cosmic staff to catch Wong for a safe landing.
The monster then brings the heroes close to them close to it, unable to break free.
The girl kicks down debris in the form of a star onto its head from above grabbing its attention.
The cloak then frees itself and Sara.
"Wait. I got an idea" she tells the cloak holding Loki's sword.
She flies up above the monster and plunges herself sword first into the monster's eye as it frees everyone and tumbles down to the ground.
Strange opens a portal where he and the girl could land on the streets below.
The monster squirmed in agony and pain until it stopped moving.
"Did we kill it?" Asked Peter.
He then got his answer in the form of a sword cutting open the eye as out came Sara Lance climbing her way back up. Coughing up blood and sliding down like no big deal and giving the thumbs up.
"Who's this?" Asked Wong.
"Yeah I was gonna ask the same question,"
The girl tried to run away as Strange holds her.
"Hold it kid. What did that creature want with you?"
"Where are your parents?" Asked Wong
Let's get back to the sanctum"
As Doctor Strange was about to open the portal, his sling ring was gone as the girl ran with it.
"She took my slingy"
"She took your slingy" added Wong.
The girl then ran to a corner to hide as she held the sling ring only to be caught up with Wong and the others.
"I'm not gonna kill you kid, I just bust my ass trying to save your life remember?" said Strange.
The girl returned the sling ring to Doctor Strange.
"The Giant monster I can deal with, what I can't however is that last night you were in my dream." said Strange.
"Mine too." said Sara.
"What?" Asked Strange confused.
"This seems like there's a lot to unpack here so how about we all find someplace to talk" suggested Spider-Man.
"and to eat" added the girl.
