Secret Crisis: The Kang Dynasty Chapter 9
"Alright. I'll take you to find Jay Garrick. Maybe he can help us after all but we're gonna have to travel the Speed Force to do it." Explained Barry.
"The Speed Force?" Asked Courtney.
"Did Jay not tell you about the Speed Force? Anyway it's the source of my speed and what powers me to travel through the Multiverse and occasionally reset timelines. All I'd have to do it tap into it and I'd probably find him" said Barry.
"That'd be great." said Courtney with hope in her heart
"You're leaving already?"
Peter-1 with Annie-May helping him up limps over to the others.
"You good?" Asked Peter-3
"I got him. Spider strength remember?" said Annie-May doing a flex.
"Yeah I'll take Star Girl from here. We won't be long." Explained Barry taking his leave with Courtney.
"Good. That means I can head back to National City." said Kara as she heads back home.
"Great. Now that just leaves the four of us" said Peter-3.
"Alright. I'll contact my team to give us a lift back to New York" said Sara.
But before she could, Strange opens a sling ring portal as he America, Miles, Miguel, Peter-4 and Gwen arrive.
"Doc?" Asked Peter-1
"We have a problem" said Strange clenching himself and wincing.
"What happened?" Asked Peter-1
Kamar-taj, the Aftermath
Wong slowly crawled to his feet with Kang standing tall holding a Sorcerer by their neck and choking them to death, crushing their neck.
With Kamar-taj in ruins, Kang walks up to Wong to pick him up by his throat.
"You cannot stop what is about to come. I have ammassed an army from countless universes and timelines." said Kang.
"My friends will stop you!" spat Oliver.
"Hmm. We'll see how united your friends will be after I tear them apart." Explained Kang
"If you hurt them..."Oliver threatens
"Who said I was gonna hurt them?"
Kang pulls out a device as somewhere underneath the subways of New York laid an alien device of Dominator origin.
"Your friends are about to be dominated. I'll see you soon." said Kang taking his leave.
S.T.A.R Labs
"We need to get back to New York." said Strange.
"Well what about The Avengers?" Asked Peter.
"When we got there, they had already left. No one was around. After searching around, there was some anomaly underneath the subways about some alien device that came out of nowhere." Explained Strange.
"Explain on the ship Doc. America? You okay?"
"I'm fine." she said.
As everyone was preparing to leave, Gwen couldn't help stare at Peter-3 like a ghost from the past.
"Are you okay?" Asked Peter-3
Gwen walks over to Peter-3 trying to see if he was real by touching his face.
"Uhhhh. Okay?" he chuckles
Gwen lowered her hood and took off her mask. Peter-3's chuckle turned into a face not so amused.
"G-Gwen?" he asked getting lost in a gulp between his words.
"Peter?" she asked also getting choked up.
"No this... This can't be real." said Peter-3
"Because you're dead" said Gwen
They both had the faces of the ones they lost and failed to save from their universes as they both stand and wonder if this was some sort of sick joke.
Peter-3 and Gwen hug each other to make sure that it was indeed real.
"I couldn't save the Gwen Stacy of my world" said Peter-3
"Hey, I couldn't save Peter Parker in mine" said Gwen with a hand on his cheek.
"Make you a deal, what say we watch over each other?" she offers
"Sounds like a plan" said Peter-3
"Alright. Everyone ready? We're heading back to The Big Apple!" said Sara.
"Does she always make one liners like that?" Asked America.
"Throw in a few quips and wisecracking she's practically one of us" said Peter-3.
"Yeah. You get used to it." said Peter-1
Hours later back in New York, The Avengers made up of Captain America, Ironheart, Mighty Thor, She Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Winter Soldier, Green Arrow and Captain Marvel were a response team to the unidentified Dominator tech device, Kang had sent from a different timeline.
"Any idea where this came from Carol?" Asked Sam.
"Nada. Definitely not any alien species I've ever seen before." said Carol.
"Still could be a trap. Everyone stay alert!" said Sam.
"I'll see if my suit can pick anything up on this thing" said Riri.
Her suit scanned the device as it says it's unknown in origin.
"Unknown in origin. Aka, even the suit doesn't know." said Riri.
"Nothing we can't handle right?" Asked Jane twirling Mjolnir.
"If it's aliens, let's hope they're at least friendly" said Jen.
"Yeah I hope so too" added Bucky.
"So. Who's volunteering to touch the alien death ray?" Asked Kate.
"Who said it was death ray?" Asked Yelena.
"No one is saying that's a death ray. Least I hope not" said Sam.
Mia then fired an explosive arrow at the device causing Sam to shield up.
"You mind giving a heads up next time?" Asked Sam turning to Mia.
"If only. That did anything" said Carol.
The machine started to wind up red as then beams hit the team causing agonizing pain to their heads.
