Secret Crisis: The Kang Dynasty Chapter 18
Spinnerette slowly wakes up seeing the Carnage left behind by Carnage. All of her friends are dead. Peter runs back to the foyer as he sees her but before he could call out to her, she signals that she's playing possum. So Peter sneaks over to her behind Carnage trying to avoid detection.
"I'm gon a help you beat this guy" he whispered.
"No. Don't. You need to get the girl to the Book of Vishanti." said MJ.
Peter helps her up on her feet wincing and holding her right ribs.
"I'll buy you some time okay? Just go" she pleads.
"I'm not leaving you alone against that thing" said Peter.
MJ kisses Peter as she also slips something into his hand.
"You'll be needing that to get into the way point. It's the only thing that will work. Our Strange made sure of it" Explained MJ.
Peter's Spider Sense goes off as Carnage tossed the statue over at the two as he takes her to dodge the attack.
Carnage then tossed Peter through into the lab where the holding cells were he lands right next to his mask and puts it back on. He then sees MJ being ensnared by Carnage as she's wrapped around his tendril.
"MJ!!!!!"
She looks over at Peter with tears rolling down her face as the two locked eyes with one another.
"I love you" she mouthed the words.
Carnage then bites her head on front of Peter as Carnage tossed her body to the side.
Peter stood frozen and left speechless as Carnage lets our a roar. He clenched his fists inching for some payback as then a sling ring portal opens behind him as Sara pulls him in.
"PETER NO! Today's not the day!"
Peter reluctantly agrees as he follows her with Carnage fast approaching. Doctor Strange quickly closed the portal before Carnage could go through.
The team along with Ray and Caitlin made it towards the underground portion of the facility that leads to the way point. Peter then goes to punch a pipe with all his might as it left a dent with steam coming out.
"Is he okay?" Asked Ray.
"I couldn't save her. That monster killed MJ." said an upset Peter.
"They're all dead." said Caitlin
"And so are we if we don't get to the book" said Strange leading the way.
Peter then looks at what MJ left him as he clutched it tight.
The team finally came across the entrance to the way point. A giant vault door.
"This is it. Our Doctor Strange had a special lock on this that only he would know how to open" said Ray.
Doctor Strange then used the Eye of Agamotto to unlock the door with a spell only for the handle to revert to its original position.
"Well that didn't work" said Sara.
"No shit." Added Strange.
Peter then walked up to the door as he placed what MJ gave him on the lock. It was Earth-838 Strange's broken watch as then the vault door open revealing the way point and within it, the Book of Vishanti.
"How did you know how to open that?" Asked Strange.
"MJ gave it to me. Right before she died" answered Peter.
Just as they were about to enter, the roar of Carnage was heard echoing through the tunnels.
"The four of you need to go now" said Caitlin.
"We can get the book and help you beat him!" argued America.
"There's no time. If you don't get that book now, none of us are making it out of here alive." Explained Caitlin.
Strange looks over at the Book of Vishanti as he knew time was running out.
"Let's go" he said floating down with the others behind him. Except for Caitlin and Ray.
"Hey! What are you doing?" Asked Peter.
"Buying you some time. Good luck" said Caitlin closing the door behind her.
"WAIT!" shouts Peter trying to thwip a web line.
"PETER!" shouts Sara as she and America were already ahead of him.
"Damn it!"
Peter thwips his way back, using the floating debris to swing onto.
"There it is! The Book of Vishanti!" shouts America.
The three finally approached the legendary Book.
Doctor Strange goes to pick it up as he turned to the group.
"Okay. America! Take us home."
"But how?" she asked.
"Try to focus your powers. Imagine it's you trying to find your moms again. But focus on our New York. Concentrate" Explained Sara.
But before America could begin, the loud dinging of the vault door was heard. America screams in terror as Carnage bursts through the door as it flew off the into the floating debris.
"Heeeeeeeere's CLETUS!"
Peter then began to web the debris onto Carnage with Doctor Strange firing a magical blast all in attempt to slow the Symbiote down.
"Now would be a perfect time on that portal!" shouts Strange.
Carnage bursts through the debris and fights through the magic inching closer and closer.
America screams as Sara pulls out her batons, combined them into a staff twirling them into a defensive position protecting America.
America then focuses her powers feeling that Multiversal energy all into her fist. She then with all her might punches a hole into reality creating a star shaped portal.
"I got it!" she smiled.
They dived through with the portal closed behind them diving through the Multiverse back to their New York. Or...did they?
