Scarlet Witch and the Three Spiders

"How do you know my name?"

"I…" Wanda trailed off as she took in the features under the web-patterned mask. Now that she was looking at him directly, this man seemed to be taller than the Spider-Man she was familiar with, to the extent that his face even looked narrower and his hair seemed thicker. The costume also seemed to be more 'low-tech' than the suits she'd seen Spider-Man wear during Leipzig and the battle against Thanos, apparently made of cloth rather than any kind of armour, although there was some kind of device on his inner wrists that she couldn't explain. "…Were you at the battle?"

"Battle?"

"Against Thanos?"

"Who's Thanos?"

"'Who's Thanos'?" Wanda repeated, feeling increasingly confused at what was happening. She had started to wonder if this young man had somehow decided to copy Spider-Man's costume and found a way to imitate his powers, but if he didn't know anything about Thanos she was lost for what was going on here. "The large purple alien who-"

"Purple alien?" the unfamiliar Spider-Man snapped his fingers as he looked at her with a grin. "Then… I think he said you're the Avengers, right?"

"'He'?" Wanda said, annoyed at herself for repeating him like this but struck by the sense that something more was going on here than another Spider-Man. "Who are you talking about?"

"We called him Peter-One," the young man shrugged with a casual smile. "I got Peter-Three; it was his world and the other guy pretty much earned Peter-Two since he was the older one-"

"His world?" Wanda tried to cut in. "The other guy? What are you talking about?"

"Right, we didn't exactly advertise that we were there…" the apparent Peter-Three said as he looked apologetically at her. "It was a couple of months or so ago in your world; there was this whole thing with Spider-Man fighting a bunch of villains at the Statue of Liberty?"

"I was- my world?" Wanda wished she could keep track of this mess for longer than a few moments at a time. "Are you saying… Spider-Man was involved in a multiverse incident?"

"And there was this guy he said was a wizard; I think Peter-One called him Doctor Strange?"

"Strange…" Wanda said, suddenly lost if she should be feeling angry or resigned to the idea that the sorcerer had been involved in a multiverse incident before everything with America. "Yes, I know Doctor Strange too."

"So you're another… Avenger?"

"I was… known as the Scarlet Witch," Wanda answered; the title might have unfortunate implications, but if this Peter also called himself Spider-Man it might be more appropriate to give him a code name first. "My name is Wanda Maximoff."

"Nice to meet you," the apparent Peter-Three smiled at her as he held out his hand. "Peter Parker- but you already knew that, so… they have witches over on your Earth too?"

"We have… many things," Wanda decided to reply.

"OK, so great to meet another hero, but what are you doing in my world?" the spider-themed hero looked at her curiously. "I mean, I doubt the wizard cast another spell-"

"Strange cast a spell?"

"Well… from what Peter-One said, that was basically how we all ended up in your world in the first place," Peter-Three shrugged. "Apparently he asked the wizard to cast a spell to help him out with something, but then the spell went wrong and it dragged a whole bunch of villains from my world and Peter-Two's world to your world, so the three of us had to cure the villains before that Strange guy did something to finish the spell…"

"Strange pulled you into my universe… with a spell?" Wanda looked at the young man in red and blue with a carefully blank expression, even as she struggled to work out how to feel about that issue.

Was it possible… could there have been a way for her to see her sons again without using the Darkhold or America? If Strange had just-

"Oh no," Peter-Three said, pulling his mask back on just as Wanda heard a roaring, screeching sound fill the air. She was about to ask what was wrong when her question was answered as a green blur tore through the air above them, accompanied by a hoarse cackling sound that sent a chill down Wanda's back. Looking up, she wondered how she should respond to the sight of a bald man in green armour with two large green-tipped mechanical wings sticking out of his back.

"Greetings, Spider-Man!" the figure said, looking mockingly at the other hero before his attention turned to Wanda. "And who is this?"

"I can speak for myself," Wanda said, stepping forward and raising her hands. She vaguely recalled reading a news article about someone similar to this being involved in an arms deal back in New York when she and the other heroes were on the run due to the Accords, but she had been more focused on her own problems at the time. "And I should be asking you that."

"Calls himself the Vulture," the now-masked Spider-Man put in from behind her.

"Vulture?" Wanda looked at Peter in surprise. "That bird that eats carrion? Why would anyone-?"

Wanda's question was interrupted when her new acquaintance grabbed her and pulled her down just as something flew past her head. She heard a loud screeching sound as something flew by overhead, but by the time she looked back up her attacker was flying away once again, letting out a maniacal laugh that sounded overly exaggerated to Wanda's ears.

"What-?" she began, before she looked behind herself and saw what must have been the thing that flew past her head. "Feathers?"

"Razor-sharp rocket-boosted feathers," Spider-Man replied as he looked after the departing figure in green. "Sorry, but I've-"

Wanda didn't let him finish that sentence as she aimed her hands downwards and launched herself into the air, flying briskly after the winged figure. She was briefly surprised to realise that she needed more effort and focus to do this than she had during her recent attack on Kamar-Taj, but decided not to worry about that. Considering what she'd been up to recently, it made sense that she might have exhausted some of her powers, and she was still strong enough to keep up with this unknown attacker. She heard a strange sound behind her, but she was vaguely reminded of the sound of Spider-Man's webbing from the battle at Leipzig Airport (she hadn't had as many opportunities to hear it during the fight against Thanos), so she chose not to worry about it right now.

Focusing on the more immediate goal, Wanda picked up her speed so that she could stay in sight of her unknown attacker, trying not to consider the implications of the greater effort she needed right now. She wasn't going to outright kill this bird-man without taking the time to establish what was going on- the more time she spent away from the Darkhold, the more she rejected the memory of what she had done to those heroes on that other Earth- but there still had to be ways of dealing with him that wouldn't be fatal. As she heard the web-swinger draw in closer and the green-winged figure seemed to lose speed, Wanda adjusted her position to let out a burst of magic-

She yelled in shock as she felt herself fall forward even as her blast struck her target. Wanda quickly adjusted her hands so that she was flying again, but was shocked to see that the green bird-man was still up in the air.

As much as she didn't like what she had become while using the Darkhold, how did it make sense that she could take on that dark-skinned woman and erase a man's mouth from his head, but had trouble knocking down a man in a bird suit?

It was only when she saw the figure 'glitch' in a manner that reminded her of a dodgy television that Wanda began to suspect there was more to her failure than her suddenly being weaker. She was about to launch another blast when a web shot past her to strike the bird-man in the wing-

"Did it just-?" she glanced back at the red-and-blue figure now swinging up behind her.

"Yeah…" her sort-of-teammate's variant said, before he launched himself forwards and spun around mid-air, diving down towards their attacker with one foot outstretched. Wanda wasn't sure what she was expecting to happen, but it definitely wasn't the sight of the green-winged bird-man to disappear while Spider-Man fell towards the ground with some kind of large metal thing now on the end of his boot.

As the man in red and blue adjusted his descent to land on top of a nearby building, Wanda flew down to join him, revealing that the metal thing on the end of his boot was a metallic semi-circular design with jets on the side that reminded her of the repulsors on Stark's suit, Spider-Man's foot going through a point somewhat to the right of the main body of the drone. The most notable detail about it was that there was a small cannon-thing on top with a sharp object sticking out of it that was clearly the tip of a feather like the one that had just been fired at them, reaffirming the idea that the man in green wings had never been here in the first place.

"… What is that?" Wanda looked curiously at Spider-Man.

"One of Mysterio's drones," Spider-Man said, his tone bitter as he reached down to tear the metal thing on his boot in half. "Which means that I'm still dealing with the Six."

"The Six?"

"No idea if they've got some other name for themselves they never bothered to tell me, so I've just been call them the Sinister Six," the other Peter Parker explained with a grim shrug even as he continued studying the metal object in his hands. "I've had a couple of run-ins with them recently, and since I got back from working with your me… well, it's been getting trickier."

Wanda freely acknowledged that she didn't know what this new Spider-Man was talking about, but even if her powers apparently weren't what they had been, she suddenly knew that she was going to get involved in this mess.

Maybe it wouldn't make up for killing that other team of heroes while she was hunting Strange and America, but it would at least be a start towards making things better…

AN: And there we have it; Wanda has survived her 'death' at Mount Wundagore and met the three Spider-Men into the bargain.

To confirm, this isn't a 'Choose Your Own Adventure' scenario where readers can pick which version of Peter Parker they want Wanda to spend time with; she genuinely has met Peter-One, Peter-Two and Peter-Three essentially at the same time. I'll explain how that happened later on, but for the moment you just need to keep that in mind.

I can't guarantee regular updates for this, as I have other things to focus on at present in terms of both writing and life, but be assured I'll be working on this when I can.
