"keep it a secret! ..ok?"

((disclaimer, i don't own codename:kid's next door nor any of the characters! they all belong to tom warburton))

"The more you hide your feelings, the more stronger they become!"

Wallabee Beatles stared at his three teammates, who were confronting him inside the S.C.A.M.P.E.R.

"What the crud is that supposed to mean?!" He scowled at Numbuh 5's quote. "Sounds like something out of those lame adult movies or something..!"

"I think it's quite clear what Numbuh 5 is referring to Numbuh 4," Nigel stated before ordering Numbuh 2 to hurry up and get the engine running.

"Yea Wally!" Hoagie butted in as he pulled a red lever then pressed a few buttons. "Numbuh 3 is out sick today so you can tell us."

"I don't think we're all on the same boat here," Numbuh 4 grumbled. He then turned away to turn on the vehicle's shields.

"No- we're on the same S.C.A.M.P.E.R! Bahahahaha!!" Numbuh 2 bursted out with laughter after pointing out the obvious. His team sighed hopelessly.

"Thank you for making that very clear, Numbuh 2!" Nigel muttered sarcastically.

"Anyways!" Abby cleared her throat and all eyes were on her. "Look Numbuh 4, we're just curious to know if you got a crush on Numbuh 3 or not. It's better to be honest about your feelings rather than bottling them up."

Nigel and Hoagie agreed and looked over at Wally, waiting for his answer. Numbuh 4 looked at them all, unsure on what to say. The young boy always had trouble expressing his emotions, especially his romantic feelings like his kiddie crush on his teammate.

For a minute or so, Numbuh 4 debated whether or not he should tell them. They would probably make fun of him on the spot or worse; tell Numbuh 3 and embarrass him.

"It's none of your business!" he wanted to say. Or "why do you care?!" is what he wanted to shout.

But Wally knew that he can't keep up with this secret anymore. It was best to tell them the truth while they still have their memories. One an operative turns 13, their childhood memories get wiped.

He took a deep breath to steady himself, Numbuh 4 could feel his face heat up and he bet it probably changed color too. "Alright, alright. I'll tell you- but keep it a secret! ..ok?"

They all shook their heads and pinky promised not to.

"Don't tell Kuki any of this!"

"We wil- OW! Oh! Uh, I mean we won't," Hoagie chuckled nervously as he rubbed the area where Abby punched him.

Numbuh 4 sighed, he had a sick feeling in his stomach like he had too much cheese. "Fine! I guess I kinda of..like, Kuki." He looked up at his friends, no reaction yet. "Maybe a little more than -uh, a friend."

Hoagies giggles broke the silence. "Sorry- but just you saying little makes me!-" He snorted then muffled his mouth with his hands.

The aussie narrowed his eyes at his best friend. "If you're talking about my height, I'll give ya a noogie till ya get a bald spot!"

Abby smiled at Wally's confession. "Very brave of ya to be honest with your feelings Numbuh 4."

Nigel nodded, "Yea, most kids would have chickened out and give us millions of excuses."

Numbuh 4 looked up, a bit baffled by the calm, supportive feedback he received. "You're not going to tease me or anything?" he asked, just to make sure.

"Oh no, we're gonna definitely tease ya," Numbuh 5 responded quickly. A mischievous smirk formed across her face, along with Numbuh 2.

"BUT!- Only lighthearted teasing that won't distract us from our mission like right now." Nigel informed them right before Numbuh 2 landed in front of a barber shop.

"Ok team! Remember the plans I told you guys during briefing!"

"Relax, Numbuh 1! You went over it like a bajillion times it's practically glued on to Numbuh 5's brain," Abby joked as everyone followed their leader, barging into the barber store.

WHAM!!

"What the?!-" an ugly, middle aged man spun around from the crying child with an ugly haircut and faced Sector V!...Minus Numbuh 3.

"Stop right there you evil adult! Giving kids ugly haircuts," Nigel shuddered in disgust as soon as he saw a kid with half of a bowlcut, bangs were unevenly chopped, and had missing patches of hair.

"Man! It's even worse then Numbuh 85's hair!" Numbuh 2 yipped. Poor paddy had to suck up the humiliation from the haircut his dad, Mr.Boss, gave him.

"At least Mr.Boss has more style then that," Numbuh 5 laughed. Everyone joined in on the amusement, losing focus on their assignment.

"Listen here you pests!" The barber suddenly snapped. "These parents pay me very good money to give these children glorious haircuts for picture day. If you are going to criticize me while pointing poorly made weapons at me, I suggest you leave."

"Oh no, we'll make sure you don't lay a pair of scissors on an innocent kids hair ever agin!" Nigel objected and got even closer.

Then, at full speed, he attacked the barber with his F.R.A.P.P.E then one thing led to an entire battle straight out of a superhero movie.

A group of exhausted kids, covered in shaving cream, hair, and hair spray, trickled into Nigel's treehouse.

"Who knew battling a barber would be so exhausting..." Abby sighed as she plopped onto the couch.

"You said it," Wally yawned and laid down on the floor, resting his head of his arms.

"Well team, I suggest we go home and shower. It's been a long day with all the school conferences, hence the short days, and battling adults twice more then we usually do," Nigel ordered, his eyelids droopy down. Everyone mumbled in agreement and staggered out of the treehouse.

On the way to the elevator, Abby tapped Wallys shoulder to ask him something.

"Say Numbuh 4, do you ever plan on Numbuh 3 on how you really feel about her?"

Numbuh 4 cheeks grew warm, a little embarrassed by the question. "Uh, I've tried to tell her a couple of times but I usually get interrupted or say something else," he admitted.

Nigel glanced over at him as they entered the elevator. "Hm? Is that what you tried to tell her before the delightful children from down the lane attempted to end us on the iceberg?"

"And before you blurted it how the room stinks when we visited Bradley at the hospital?" Numbuh 2 blurted out.

"And after you wrecked the school play due to the delightful children from down the lane being Kuki's love interests?" Abby asked, tilting her head to the side.

Numbuh 4 eyes widened. "..Er, yes." He stroked his hair back, disturbance in his eyes. "You don't think Numbuh 3 didn't really, you know, get what I was trying to say, right?!"

"Ha! Kuki is oblivious to a lot of stuff, if Father was hiding right behind me, I'd bet she would carry on with her day and not bother to tell me," Nigel erupted with chuckles that washed over everyone.

"She'd probably complimented on how lovely your hair is today!" Numuh 5 snickered. Hoagie chuckled at her joke while Numbuh 1 just rolled his eyes in annoyance.

Wallabee smiled at his friends. "Yea, that's true."

"Numbuh 3 isn't the only one who's oblivious at stuff," Numbuh 5 whispered to Numbuh 1 and 2.

Numbuh 4 was relieved that he could finally tell somebody the truth and was assured he was able to trust them with such a childish secret.

Or could he?
