"May… your heart be your guiding key", were the words a certain orange-clad blonde heard in the midst of a dark room. Looking around he didn't see anything besides the darkness that entranced him. However, when he squinted his eyes, he saw a form of light in the distance. And As he approached it, the object of light was slowly revealing itself to the boy. It was a..
"A key…?"
There stood in the midst of the pit of darkness was a giant key right before the boy's eyes. He eyed the object suspiciously not knowing what to make of the situation. "Do not be afraid young Naruto, for that key before you is a manifestation of your heart and the light it shines against darkness". Naruto didn't know where that voice came from, but he decided not to question it, as he slowly reached for the object…. "I see good things in your future, chosen master of the keyblade," the voice said again.
"The keyblade…?" Naruto said as the light from the 'keyblade' blazed brightly, overtaking the young blonde.
"NARUTO!"
"ughh"
"NARUTO!"
*Bonk*
"ow what the hell-" Naruto exclaimed rubbing his eyes, "Huh, Sakura-chan, where am I?", Naruto asked a pink-haired girl that stood above him with a light glare.
"Finally you're up, you lazy bum. You overslept again!" Sakura said disapprovingly
"Huh, I was dreaming?!" Naruto said looking around him as he began to notice that he was on training ground seven, the place where his team usually met for training or to hear their missions for the day.
Sakura sighed, "Yeah, Sensei just came here not too long ago. He told us we'd be free for the day as he had important business with the Hokage"
Naruto nodded in understanding, before rubbing the back of his head sheepishly as he got up, "hey Sakura-chan since we have the whole day free, why don't we go on a date?"
Sakura rolled her eyes playfully, "Baka! What were u even dreaming about anyways?"
"It's hard to say but I remember being in this black place, and hearing a voice and the same key I've seen a lot in my dreams lately". Naruto said while putting his hands behind his head.
Sakura stared at Naruto with a worried gaze, before she started laughing at the blonde. "Naruto you bum, you're turning into Shikamaru these days with all those naps. Maybe Sasuke-kun hit you a little too hard in your spars."
"Hn. the loser's become so delusional that he's been dreaming about some sort of key to defeat me," a new voice said in a teasing tone.
Walking up towards the pair, was Sasuke Uchiha with a small smirk that graced his face.
Naruto glared at the arrival of his rival, "I don't need some secret key to take you on bastard! I could make u eat dirt any day of the week!" he retorted.
"Is that so?" Sasuke asked raising an eyebrow in amusement, "Care to back up that claim?".
Naruto cracked his knuckles, as he approached Sasuke, "Gladly".
Sakura breathed a deep breathe.
*Bonk!*
*Bonk!*
Currently on their knees with big lumps on their heads were Naruto and Sasuke as they looked up towards Sakura, as said Pinkette looked downward at the two with a glare.
"Can't you idiots ever be in each other's presence without trying to kill each other!"
The two didn't respond to their teammate's question as they were currently in a heated glaring match with each other, as electricity began to dance around their eyes.
With a tick mark growing on her face, Sakura began to get pissed as she shouted, "HEY I'M TALKING TO YOU TWO! YOU JUST DON'T IGNORE SOMEONE WHEN SOMEONE IS TALKING TO YA!
The two began to soften up their glares as they winced from the painful screams of their friend, turning around they realized just how pissed she was, as multiple veins were popping out of her humongous forehead. But the scariest part of it all was that she was smiling… Thinking quickly Naruto wrapped an arm around Sasuke's shoulder, as the two stood up. With the latter immediately playing along as he forced a smile.
"See Sakura-chan we can get a long" Naruto said chuckling nervously, Sakura calmed down as she smiled at the two.
"See boys, now that wasn't so hard, was it?"
Keeping up their act the two rivals raised a thumbs up in response with smiles.
When Sakura turned around the last Uchiha survivor forced Naruto's arm off his shoulder forcefully while glaring at the blonde, who returned the favor.
"Anyways," Sasuke said getting the attention of his two teammates, "I was originally gonna leave for some training, but on my way home I ran into Kakashi, and he gave me these," Sasuke said holding up a set of three documents.
"Are those what I think they are?" Sakura asked in shock.
"Eh, what are those?" Naruto asked in confusion.
Sasuke sighed, "These are the documents that we need to sign if we wish to enter the upcoming chunin exams."
Naruto's eyes widen, as he jumped in the air while raising a fist, "Yatta!" he exclaimed as he grabbed the document from the Uchiha teen and ran off with such a speed that would give even Maito Gai a run for his money.
"I guess we know his answer," Sakura said with a sweat drop on her face, while Sasuke deadpanned.
Konoha capital, Hokage's tower
In the office of the Hokage, seated a man in the front desk who has been around for many generations. In his youth, he was the very lone apprentice to the first and second hokage and was trained to carry out their will of fire for the sake of Konoha. Later in his shinobi career, the man soon became the third Hokage after the passing of his sensei, Lord Second. 13 years ago, he thought he could go into retirement when he passed on his will to the fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze. However, the young Hokage meant his demise when he sacrificed himself to save his village. Forcing the age-old man out of his brief retirement.
Currently, the older Hokage was tapping away at his desk impatiently as he eyed the window from the corner of his eyes. Sighing he pulled out a cigar and lit it up with a small fire-style jutsu. Putting the cigar in his mouth he began smoking to pass the time. Just then he felt a familiar chakra signature appear at the window. Without even bothering to look towards the source, the old Hokage sighed "you're late Kakashi".
Kakashi perched on the window with his signature eye smile and raised his hands defensively, "ma ma ma. Hokage-sama, I was on my way here but I forgot to give my cute little genins their chunin exam documents"
Unusually tense, which didn't go unnoticed by the Jounin Elite, the Hokage gestured Kakashi towards the chair in front of the Hokage's desk. Taking a seat Kakashi was about to question his leader but he was interrupted-
"You can come out now" the Hokage stated calmly
Just then a small figure emerged from the shadows in the room, as it slowly revealed itself to the two men. Making Kakashi's lone eye visibly widen.
"No way…" Kakashi muttered.
"It's been a while, Kakashi… Hiruzen" 'it' stated.
Narrowing his eyes, Hiruzen replied, "Indeed it has… King Mickey"
Konoha, Forest on the outskirts of the village
In one of the many forests in Konoha, Naruto Uzumaki was hard at work preparing for the upcoming chunin exams. Right now, with the help of his shadow clones, he was practicing his taijutsu.
"SHADOW CLONE JUSTSU!" he shouted as 10 clones charged toward him. The first shadow clone cocked a fist towards the original's face, but Naruto easily ducked and sent a gut punch to his stomach making it go up in a poof of smoke. Following this were the other 9 Narutos that charged towards Naruto with Kunai, smoke bombs, and everything they had in their arsenal. Dodging and countering most of his clones' attacks; Naruto was left down to only 3 clones who looked towards their creator with an evil smirk before they suddenly disappeared.
"what the-"
Naruto didn't get to finish his thought as his clones launch 3 kunai towards him, however he easily dodged them.
"Ha, you guys think u can catch me with your crappy aim?" Naruto gloated, however, he frowned when he saw the smug grin on his clones' faces. Naruto then look towards the kunais again as his eyes widen when he noticed the familiar sight of a paper bomb attached on the end of them.
"Oh, shit!" Naruto exclaimed as he rushed out of there with as much speed as he could manage. However, Naruto wasn't fast enough as the force of the bombs still managed to graze the boy as he was sent flying and hurtling towards a tree, which subsequently knocked him out.
Konoha capital, Hokage's tower
Standing before Kakashi and Hiruzen was a giant mouse with gloved hands, two huge circles on his head for ears, and beady little eyes that danced around his white scleras. Currently dressed in red and black clothes paired with huge comical yellow shoes, the mouse cleared his throat as a small smile graced his lips.
"Now, Now Hiruzen you know how much I hate to be referred to by my title, especially amongst friends".
Hiruzen chuckled while lighting another smoke, "My apologies your Mousiness" he said cheekily, earning a slight glare from the mouse.
In thought, Kakashi mused, 'Ah I see. So, this is why Lord third called me here'. "Mickey it's been a while and as much as I am glad to see you again, what brings you here?" Kakashi asked aloud grabbing both leaders' attention. Surely the mouse had a valid reason for coming here considering he's a king and all.
"Can't a mouse catch up with old pals, eh fellas?" Mickey asked jokingly.
"Your wife would kill you and you know it" Hiruzen deadpanned.
Mickey shuddered at the thought of facing one of the Queen's famous wraths. He didn't want to think about how much he was risking sneaking off like this without a word. Shaking the thought out of his head, he began "Well fellas, to tell ya the truth I have dire news."
Sighing Hirzuen knew exactly where this was going, it was just as he feared. However, Kakashi was none the wiser but narrowed his eyes at the king's "dire news". If a king with out of worldly knowledge came to you with dire news, then that meant serious business.
"Your world is in grave danger…"
Hiruzen sighed a disappointed sigh, "I had a feeling this was the case".
"Your majesty?" Kakashi questioned, as the king turned to him; "what do you mean by that?"
Before Mickey could answer, Hirzuen began to explain it himself "it's the darkness in this world Kakashi. It appears that a being with the ultimate amount of hatred and negative emotions has awoken in this already cruel and hate-filled world" he finished somberly… knowing just who that could be.
"Precisely," Mickey said, "You remember Cloud and his friends?"
Kakashi snorted, of course, he remembered the blonde-haired soldier that challenged him to a fight after the latter mistook him for his life-long enemy in disguise. The two fought for a good while until Cloud realized that Kakashi wasn't the man he was looking for. 'I wonder if he ever did find that guy' Kakashi asked in thought.
"They too had a world of their own, however, a being of pure darkness emerged again and again, defeat after defeat. Until his hatred and darkness grew so strong it manifested its own will to summon the darkness from people's hearts and use as weapons called heartless." Mickey explained getting a gasp from both men.
"Heartless is a being without that of a heart and is fueled with nothing but pure hatred and negative emotions. Essentially if the heart of someone is weak and filled with mostly hatred a being of pure hatred can extract their hearts from them. Releasing their darkness and killing them in the process" Mickey grimaced.
"So how exactly does a being of pure hatred turn people into heartless?" Kakashi asked, a cold sweat growing on his face.
"Their will of darkness manifests into a weapon, and with this weapon they can force those with weak hearts to turn into heartless, however, I suspect if the darkness is strong enough it can suppress and take over those with light. Which is why it's best to stop a being of darkness from growing too powerful by taking them out when their will isn't strong enough". Mickey finished.
Gulping nervously the Third Hokage spoke up, "I know one man who could possibly raise to such a level of darkness. and if what Mickey says is true… it could appear we'd be too late".
"I know what your thinking Hiruzen and I'm afraid it could be him," Mickey said, "but be warned Hirzuen as he is now you cannot destroy him. Even if you do kill him, he will simply re-emerge as you cannot truly extinguish such a being without enough light within you"
"So, what you're saying is that we need a being of equal light to conquer a being of darkness?" Kakashi asked.
"Yes. That's the way things have always been, you need equilibrium. A being of equal light or more is the only way to truly conquer the darkness. However, there have been cases where a group of people filled with light have formed a collective to stop the darkness."
Rubbing his head, Hiruzen felt a massive headache coming on, "so basically as long as you have some form of light within you, you and others have a fighting chance to take down such a foe?" Despite the gravity of the situation Hiruzen couldn't help but think how crazy this all was as it almost sounded like that of a fairy tale.
Nodding his head, the mouse said "As long as you let the light in your heart be your guiding key, you and others can do amazing things that those of darkness cannot." Mickey said seriously before feigning a weak smile. "Unfortunately, that's all the time I have fellas. You see I must go back to my kingdom to prepare for another journey. As lately worlds have been flickering out of existence and I need to find out the cause before it's too late! Hopefully, on my travels, I can meet another key blade user to help but there hasn't been any in a while"
Absorbing all the knowledge laid before them, the two men nodded in understanding as they watched the mouse depart through the window.
'disappearing worlds? beings of darkness?, the keyblade? Kami why couldn't Minato be alive to deal with this crap' Hirzuen thought while rubbing his templates.
Kakashi didn't seem to take the news much better as his lone visible eye was shaking. However, he calmed down as he looked up towards the picture of the fourth, 'Sensei what would you do to protect our world?' he thought. Sighing as he returned his lazy gaze back towards the aging Kage.
"Lord third?"
"Orochimaru" he answered
"What?"
Hiruzen got up from his chair and with his back towards Kakashi, he gazed at the village his senseis and successor fought so hard to protect. And with a sigh he said,
"Orochimaru is the being of darkness that will destroy this world."
Darkness surrounded Naruto as he began to slowly get up, "wha- where am I?" he questioned. As he looked around him. "This is the same dark place from last time" he concluded as he took in the dark area of the room once again.
"Oh, great don't tell me I lost to my own shadow clones and I got knocked out." Naruto said aloud with a groan, "If Sasuke learned about this, he'd never let me hear the end of it!"
"I don't get it," Naruto said cupping his chin to his mouth, "I keep getting the same dream over and over again, and it keeps leading back to this place".
"What could this mean…"
Suddenly Naruto felt something behind him. Ninja senses kicking in, Naruto immediately jumped back and began staring in the direction of where he felt something.
"I see," said a voice familiar to his, "so you're my other"
"Huh who said that, show yourself !" Naruto exclaimed
Walking out of the darkness, the owner of the voice starred Naruto in the eyes. Making his eyes widen in shock due to his appearance, and the giant key in his hands. But unlike the light shown in his previous dream, this time the key was shrouded in a pit of darkness that reflected the dark room.
"you're m-"
"Not yet!" the figure cut off as it raised a lone hand in front of Naruto, and with a light breeze pushed Naruto away.
"GAH!" Naruto exclaimed as he breathed in and out. Taking in his surroundings Naruto realized he was back in the real world and was currently slumped on the tree that knocked him out. 'Just what the hell was that' he wondered.
"NARUTO! There you are!" Sakura exclaimed running towards him, with Sasuke close behind.
"Sakura-chan? Sasuke?"
"We've been looking for you for a while, Naruto" Sakura said as she approached him.
A little taken aback by his crush's statement, a small blush formed on his cheeks, "Oh? What's up Sakura-chan?"
"Well…" Sakura began, "all of the other genins in our year have been nominated as well to participate in the chunin exam and we decided to celebrate by having a little get-together".
Naruto raised an eyebrow at this, since as much as he loved hanging out with his friends, he didn't really understand the purpose of this. Since it was just a nomination, he rather spend time training and figuring out the reason behind his dreams. But ah what the heck maybe hanging out with some friends could be fun.
"Oh-ok Sakura, sounds fun. I'll tag along" Naruto said with a bright smile which made the pinkette smile in return, while Sasuke nodded in response. However, before the trio walked off, Naruto eyed his rival with a teasing smile, "but what I want to know is how you got mister sunshine and rainbows over here to agree to this" Naruto said referring to Sasuke who only snorted in response.
Letting Naruto get a head start, Sakura tugged at Sasuke's arm.
Sighing Sasuke looked towards Sakura, "what is it Sakura?"
"Do you think this will work?"
"I don't know, but it better; I'm taking precious time out of my training just for this idiot" Sasuke stated in annoyance, however, there was a tint of worry in his voice.
Sakura slumped her shoulders, "I'm just worried a lot about Naruto. Lately, he's been more aloof and not himself, and those strange dreams he's having are far from normal either. Heck, he hasn't even shouted about becoming Hokage that much."
"Hn." truth be told Sasuke was worried for his rival even if he refused to admit it. He knew Naruto better than almost anyone in the village and has been observing how Naruto's recent habits have been affecting him as a shinobi. He was becoming sloppy, distracted, sleepy, and less loud. Which were words he'd nor anybody would ever associate with the Uzumaki. But right now, they could only hope for the best. And with a slight glance towards Sakura, he said "Your lucky this restaurant has tomatoes."
ANDDDD WITH THAT CHAPTER ONE COMPLETE!

Before I can run Sakura jumps on top of me beating the crap out of me, while I scream.
Me: oh yeah before you go I wanna clear somethings. There will be no sora, Kairi, or Riku. The reason being is that Naruto and co would replace them. And besides it would be kinda weird to have characters with almost the same exact personality traits co-lead the story. And Yes I know there are stories where both Naruto and Goku lead the story, but even so Naruto and Goku have differences that separate them, such as age, philosophy and purpose for getting stronger. Where Naruto and Sora have way too much in common, that the only thing that separates them is that Naruto is a ninja in my opinion. Maybe one day I could do a crossover where Naruto meets sora but not right now. And another thing, is ven sealed within Naruto? Well the thing is just like in Kingdom hearts we don't know yet. Yes even I don't know if im gonna make Ven sealed in Naruto and I probably won't bring it up in the story until its relevant. It could honestly go either way at this point if Ven will be sealed in Nar or not.
