The tape began with red text on a blue background dictating:

Eirin Yagokoro

Investigation Report N°79:

In a single instant the image changed to an actual recording.
The afternoon sun was shining through the window.
A room consisting of organised chemicals and paperwork was in place.
The words of the medical genius Eirin Yagakoro were now audible.

Eirin Yagakoro: The investigation continues, I locked the patient in an isolated room where only I can enter.
The theory I have formulated at this point is somewhat simple:
The patient ate poisonous and hallucinogenic plants of the Fungi branch, found in the bamboo forest of the lost near the Eientei, the first symptoms were high fever and pains in the extremities.
Soon after, the patient's health deteriorated rapidly to the point of spending all day in bed to improve her condition. This is nothing new, in fact many of the patterns of these mushrooms are recognizable in other fungi species.
However, this one in particular seems to be immune to traditional medicine and my modifications to it. It seems to be able to-

The audible moans of someone could be heard from a room not so far away, the voice of someone in pain, one that would not calm down.
Whimpers of surrender, of hopelessness rung out into the air, the kind that sing when one gets tired of crying so much.

Despite this, the woman only closed her eyes for a second and soon returned to her stoic gaze.

Eirin Yagakoro: Any medicine administered only works in the short term.
The only temporary changes are in the reduction of pain, the effect of which seems to last less with each dose. It's beginning to seem more like a magical issue than a just scientific one.

Knocks on the wall were heard. They did not sound like the pounding of hands.
Eirin hurriedly dismissed the recording and turned off the camera.

The image cut to black before returning, recording from a moderately high point in the room.
Now the place being recorded was a patient room with a somewhat large bed, the window showing an orange sunlight that still lingered before sunset.

In the bed was Tewi, with white bandages around her head. Near her was Eirin with a tray on the bedside table.
She pulled a syringe from it and Tewi spoke to her as she stretched with too much effort to move even one limb.

Tewi Inaba: I want to apologise to her...
If this was because of my jokes I'm sorry, I won't bother her again...!
Please, I just want it to sto-
AAAGHK!

Tewi flinched and screamed in pain once Eirin pulled out the syringe and the clear, cold liquid began to flow through her veins.
Eirin looked much gentler in front of the lop-eared bunny, giving her a pat on the head and smiling to try and comfort her.

Eirin Yagakoro: She didn't do this to you on purpose, don't worry.
Reisen is a very good girl, and she would never do this to you. There is no reason to apologise.

She stroked Tewi's head before standing up completely.
Tewi settled down on the bed.

Eirin Yagakoro: I'll get your food, you should feel good enough now to eat something.

Tewi mumbled quietly.

Tewi Inaba: But I'm not hungry…

Eirin crossed her arms and looked like more of a concerned parent than a traditional doctor.

Eirin Yagakoro: You haven't been eating anything for 2 days and you hardly sleep. You should try to eat a little... Please, recovery will be better this way…

Tewi groaned, and then sighed.

Tewi Inaba: ...Alright...

They both gave each other a warm smile before being interrupted. When Eirin looked away, all of the hope in and positivity in Tewi's eyes vanished entirely, replaced by a completely dead and blank expression, utter despair.

A moment later, a loud sound rang out. The sound of shattering porcelain echoed through the room accompanied by a frightened feminine scream.

The image cut to black again, the strange patterns visible were almost imperceptible in that transient darkness.

The next image was Eirin's office, the window showed a clear night with a bright moon whose light illuminated the back of the woman in red and blue robes as she was recorded from behind.
Her nurse's hat was on the table and the sounds of a telephone dialing could be heard.
A heavy sigh came from her, one of defeat.

Eirin Yagakoro: Hello, Patchouli Knowledge?...
Good... Yes, it's Yagakoro Eirin…
I know it's late, but this may be an emergency. I called here because... Because... I Need your help...

Eirin said this line in a defeated and tired tone before the video cut off abruptly.

The video cut to tewi one last time, laying on her bed, moaning in pain.

Tewi: H-Help me… Please… I-I'll do anything! Please…

Tewi seemed to be reaching for something unseen, stretching her arms as far as she could. Alas, there was nothing there.

Tewi: Please… H-Help… Me…

Tewi begged, but in the silence, nobody came. The darkness of the room seemed to only grow as the camera began to cut out slowly but surely.
She laid back down, she looked horrible.

She cried for a moment, then she screamed. At last, Tewi was completely silent. Tewi was completely silent. Tewi was completely-
