Well, we're getting closer to the end of this adaptation, with this and two more chapters on the way. I'm excited to have this story finished for you guys to eventually get to read. Honestly, this is one of my more ambitious projects, especially as there're so many so characters and fandoms in this tale. And I know not everyone is going to get equal amounts of time in the story, considering that we're mostly focusing on the trio of Izuku, Blake, and Rody.
That aside, I'm really happy to have brought this story into light. And I can't wait to get through this and the next two chapters for you guys to see. So without any further delay, let's get back into the story!
OMNI FORCE
WORLD HEROES' MISSION
"Emergency alert, sir!" one of the operators in the World Heroes' Association headquarters called out to the director, "Humarise has started a broadcast and is streaming across the planet!" he informed to him.
"Put it on the screen!" he instructed quickly. The big screen at the front of the command center turned red, with the six-leafed clover insignia of the cultish terrorists upon it. All Might grimaced.
"Humarise will now fulfill its purpose!" Flect's voice echoed from the screen, "To protect the pure humans who are called powerless…" he continued as around the world, screens in cities were also broadcasting the message to several citizens, "against those who have been infected by the wicked disease known as Quirks!" he declared, while back at U.A. High, the likes of Tenya Iida, Yuga Aoyama, Mina Ashido, Toru Hagakure, Koji Koda, Shota Aizawa, and Mirio Togata watched on with worry and frustration, "We have developed Humanity Salvation Devices that will cleanse this world," he told all viewers, including the heroes that were standing by in their respective locations, "Soon, they will be activated… in twenty-five countries!" he announced.
"Seriously?!" Mineta exclaimed out of disbelief, grabbing both sides of his head.
"But why are they announcing this now?" Tamaki wondered aloud.
"Don't have a clue…" Hanta admitted with a grimace.
"This deliverance from evil shall be witnessed by all in two hours!" Flect declared on.
"That's hardly any time at all!" Taishiro exclaimed as everyone around for the Japan team was just as shocked by the sudden challenge.
"Crap…" Shinra muttered with his nervous, devilish grin.
"However, we are not without mercy…" Flect proclaimed, "If you wish to prevent this plan from going into effect," he kept going, "we will generously reveal the countries where our devices have been installed," he promised to those watching.
"What is he playing at?" Momo wondered aloud with her right hand upon her chin.
"It sounds like a trap…" Mackenzie muttered beside her.
"Damn bastards…!" Rumi snarled.
"If you do not understand our righteous cause, you will have a chance to live on…" Flect promised before the broadcast ended. Back at the WHA headquarters, the global map reappeared on the big screen. Markers around the globe went off, indicating each of the countries targeted in red.
"Director, these are the twenty-five zones the bombs are placed in!" one operator called out, "They match up with the locations of known Humarise branches!" he mentioned.
"It's possible this is a giant trap!" an aide to the director suggested.
"But we can't afford to be that cautious…" All Might chimed in seriously, knowing that if it wasn't bluster that Flect was spouting, millions upon millions of people would be in trouble. The director nodded in agreement.
"Give launching orders to the hero teams on standby!" he instructed to the operators.
"Yes, sir!" they replied. Warning signs were flashing all over their screens.
"There's widespread panic in each of the twenty-five affected zones!" one pointed out as he turned in his chair slightly, "Surrounding areas are in chaos as well!" he added. In Japan, thousands of people were frightfully running about, trying to get away from wherever the bombs were located. Anyone in a vehicle was in even more trouble, unable to escape the city streets. One car crashed into the back of a semi-truck, followed by another crashing into it.
"Streets are gridlocked! Transportation is a mess!" a female operator mentioned. It was sheer chaos around the world. Arriving on the scene in Japan were Taishiro, Tamaki, Eijiro, Tetsutetsu, Laura, and Rachael.
"Oh no…!" the Hardening Quirk user exclaimed, seeing how bad things were, especially on the streets.
"We can't start searching for these damn bombs until we get these people outta here…" the requip user noted out of frustration.
"Suneater, you search for anybody who's injured!" Taishiro instructed to the Manifest Quirk user, getting his attention, "Red Riot, Real Steel, and Wolverine, you secure a solid evacuation route!" he advised of the others, "Scarlet Knight, I'll have you with me to find anyone trapped in all this mess!" he decided as Rachael perked up.
"Roger that!" the boys responded, while the girls simply nodded. Tamaki went ahead and immediately formed his fingers into octopus tentacles, which extended out as he swung his arms back.
"Chimera Kraken!" he exclaimed, unleashing the tentacles to wrap around and lift up several people in the area who had gotten hurt.
"Let's do this!" Tetsutetsu yelled, hardening his body into a silvery steel as he charged forward.
"Come on Red Gauntlet!" Eijiro bellowed as he had his body harden so that he was sturdy and rock hard.
"RRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!" Laura roared, drawing a pair of adamantium claws from between her knuckles. Together, the three first-years bashed a semi-truck aside, clearing a path for the frightened citizens.
"This is your way out!" the Hardening Quirk user yelled to the crowd.
"Don't stand there gawkin'! Go!" the Steel Quirk user insisted firmly. Elsewhere on the streets, Taishiro was using his strength to rip off a car door, revealing a pair of young boys crying inside. He quickly pulled them out, holding them in his arms before handing them off to their mother. Rachael drew a small blade in a flash of light, using it to slice another door off to reveal a girl there. The requip user made her weapon and the armor around her right hand disappear, reaching it out to the scared child with a smile.
"You don't need to be afraid," she assured, "Come on," she beckoned. The girl took her hand, allowing her to pull her out of the vehicle.
"Cementoss!" Hizashi called out to the Cement Quirk user as they were at a street corner next to the gridlocked bridge.
"Make it a loud one, Mic!" Ken insisted, placing his hands against the pavement as a greenish glow came off of them. He formed a pillar underneath the Voice Quirk user, raising him up into the air. Taking a deep breath, he was ready to alert the scared crowd.
"LISTEN UP, EVERYBODY!" he loudly echoed up into the sky, being aboard a makeshift slide that his fellow hero had formed, "WE'VE GOT A ROCKIN' PATH FOR YA OVER HERE, SO GET TO SLIDIN'!" he instructed.
"Remain calm! Don't panic!" the Cement Quirk user advised to the fleeing citizens. He then turned towards one of the many tall buildings in the vicinity, narrowing his eyes.
'We're counting on you, search team…' he noted inwardly. Up atop the roof of a skyscraper, Kugo and his sidekicks were using sonar in an attempt to detect the device.
"Find me that Trigger Bomb immediately!" he commanded of his subordinates, including Kyoka and Mezo, "Hear me?!" he yelled out.
"Understood, sir!" they all responded. With flames expelling from his feet, Shinra was flying about the area, seeing the chaos slowly being quelled below. He grimaced all the while.
"Damn…" he cursed, "Finding that bomb's gonna be like looking for a needle in a haystack…" he pointed out, "And who knows if there's more than one around…" he mentioned as he rounded a corner. Little did he realize that he was being watched from afar by a pair of grinning figures. The chaos had enveloped Europe as well, with several cars being piled on the streets as smoke rose into the sky.
"Hup!" Shiki grunted as he and Ochaco floated several damaged cars up into the air.
"Ribbit!" Tsuyu croaked, wrapping her long tongue around one and pulling it in. Miles did the same with a few web lines to a couple other vehicles, taking them aside to be brought down safely elsewhere.
"We've got the evacuations under control!" the Zero Gravity Quirk assured, floating up another damaged car after pressing her fingertips against it.
"Then it's up to us to find the enemy's device!" Ryuko declared to her colleagues standing by her.
"Right!" they agreed, ready to head off.
"Nejire!" Rebecca called out as she jogged over with Pino in her arms, getting the third-year's attention, "Take Pino with you," she advised, "She can probably detect the bomb," she noted.
"Okay, good thinking!" the Surge Quirk replied, letting the little android hop onto her back. Her twisting waves of yellow energy allowed her to shoot back up into the air, flying off.
"This really isn't good…" Happy commented sadly.
"With all these people panicking, it's gonna be hard for to focus on finding the Trigger Bomb in time…" Rebecca mentioned in a worried tone, "What would Izu do?" she wondered aloud, clenching her fists in frustration.
"The nerd boy would probably focus on getting these people to safety first!" Weisz called out in response upon overhearing, getting her attention as she looked to see him place his hand against a damaged car. His Ether Gear markings expanded onto it, causing its doors to pop right off. Elsewhere, Homura used her energy blades to slice off more car doors, allowing for people to begin their escape.
Realizing that everyone was giving it their best effort to save citizens first and foremost, Rebecca decided to ultimately do the same. She hurried off and waved people over to a safe pathway after they had gotten freed. What none of them realized is that they were being watched from afar by none other than Vali, who was atop the Arc de Triomphe. He narrowed his eyes curiously. In the United States, Hawks flew about speedily alongside Fumikage and an armored Issei.
"Holy ballsacks, this is bad…" the reincarnated devil muttered out, seeing the panic occurring on the streets below.
"Phrasing, Issei…" the Dark Shadow Quirk user remarked bluntly out of annoyance to his friend.
"Tsukuyomi! Hyodo! Leave the evacuations to the American team!" Hawks advised to the pair following him, "It'll be easier for us to find that damn bomb with a bird's eye view!" he pointed out.
"Roger that!" both Issei and Fumikage responded, flying off in different directions to begin their search.
"Go… Fierce Wings!" Hawks yelled, unleashing the red feathers of his wings down onto the city below, having them speedily fly about, "Leave no corner unsearched!" he commanded of them. Throughout the city, Rias, Akeno, Koneko and Xenovia were all searching for the bomb themselves. Asia was with both Mashirao and Rikido, helping evacuate the area with the American heroes while also tending to any injured. As the ordeal for the heroes continued, none of them appeared to notice Zenon lurking around a corner.
"So… there are devils here…" he noted aloud. Back in Singapore, Sunset had ponied up, flying throughout the city alongside Noelle, who was donning her Valkyrie Armor. Rumi hopped after them, leaping from building to building.
"Do we have any idea where they'd want to set the bomb?" the Black Bull asked of the Equestrian Magic user.
"Probably in a space where the gas would spread the furthest throughout the area," she answered, "Rumi, you getting anything?!" she called out to the Rabbit Quirk user.
"Just jack-shit with all the scurrying of everyone on the ground!" she complained in response.
"Well, let's keep looking!" Sunset insisted of her colleagues. Down below, Alice, Mackenzie and Christina were with Big Red Dot, helping guide people to safety. The former of the group looked toward the sky worriedly.
'We're already running low on time…' she noted through her thoughts.
"Tokage, take these sensors and spread them around the city!" Momo requested, having created a pile of devices that had protruded from her body.
"No sweat!" the Lizard Tail Splitter Quirk user replied as she jogged over to her colleague. She then split herself up into several parts, each floating off with the sensors. "I won't let anyone die today!" she vowed as she flew off. At that moment, Enma floated up aboard rings of multicolored energy.
"Momo!" he called out to the Creation Quirk user, getting her attention, "Shall we head to the next spot?" he guessed.
"Yes, sir!" she responded, allowing him to form a few rings of light underneath her, letting her fly after him. They didn't realize that they were being watched by Shura, who was floating high above them. He licked his lips and sneered.
"That girl looks like quite a treat…" he noted with a chuckle. In Egypt, Yu had enlarged herself, picking cars up off of the gridlocked streets and setting them down carefully so that those inside could get out. As she did, her work study students were running about the streets in search of the dastardly device.
"How are we supposed to find a tiny bomb hiding somewhere in this huge city?!" Minoru yelled frantically as he, Denki, and Hanta kept running.
"Hello! Hello! Hello!" Salaam greeted to the trio, running off alongside them.
"Whoa, Salaam!" they yelped in surprise.
"You must find what you seek, not seek what you find!" he advised of the trio, "Follow me, young ones!" he instructed, dashing through the streets with a gold aura wafting off of his paper thin body.
"He's so fast!" Denki and Minoru exclaimed.
"Guess being paper thin has its perks!" Hanta remarked. Elsewhere, a flying Riri was leading Robbie, Tamaki, Ogun, and Pan down another street.
"Dammit…" she cursed beneath her armor, "I don't think the bomb's detectable, even with my armor…" she grumbled.
"So we're just looking for it based on sight?!" Tamaki inquired aloud in disbelief, "Great…" she muttered out.
"We can't act like we've nothing to go off of though!" Ogun advised as a response.
"He's right!" Pan agreed, "Our priority's still to help evacuate citizens and then locate the bomb within the radius," he told his colleagues.
"Pretty much," Riri replied. She then glanced back and noticed how Robbie seemed troubled. "Something wrong?" she asked, floating down to fly beside his running form.
"Rider's picking up on something pretty wicked…" he answered with a grimace, "We might be getting closer to where we need to go," he confirmed.
"Then let's pick up the pace!" Ogun insisted, making a pair of flaming spears appear near him. He threw his board out from his back, having the spears shoot into the ports at their sides to make it hover. Jumping onto it, he flew out to get a better view of the area.
In the meantime, Tamaki had pink flames ignite around her, forming a pair of cat-like ears and two forked tails. She sped ahead as if she were a feline, continuing alongside her colleagues. They didn't realize that they were being watched by a pair of figures standing in an alleyway. Back in Otheon, Enji and Moe were flying across the skyline over the city, with the corvid forms of Raven and Qrow soaring after them.
"Clair, where's the device, dammit?!" the Hellflame Quirk user yelled in question over the communication line established.
"There's no sign of it in this area!" the Otheon hero responded as her eyes glowed a bright red while she was gliding upon her sidekick, "Moving to the next location!" she confirmed, starting to fly away.
"We're not finding any clues in the west district either," Takehisa confirmed while watching many citizens frightfully run about the streets in panic. He grimaced out of frustration, knowing that the situation was well out of his or anyone's control.
'Shoto… what are you doing?' Enji wondered inwardly, 'Hurry up and get back here!' he yelled through his thoughts.
PART III
By the time Ruby returned from wherever she had gone to leave Beros, the group had arrived at a seaside hotel in Klayd. They immediately plugged the SD card into one of the complimentary computers. And as its contents were opened, so too were a lot of folders on the screen.
"Oh, dammit…" Yang cursed.
"So many folders…" Izuku noted aloud, "Where do we even start?" he questioned.
"Move it!" Katsuki yelled, shoving his rival aside, "Where's the most recent timestamp?" he inquired, quickly filtering the page to show what had recently been accessed, "It's this video file," he confirmed to the group, who all gathered around as closely as they could. It took a moment to get started.
"Hello," a male voice greeted, "My name is Alan Kay," he introduced, being the eyepatch-wearing man from recent accident in Otheon, "Along with several other scientists, I was kidnapped by Humarise," he told those watching.
"Kidnapped?" Izuku repeated in surprise, while Rody perked up slightly, which Blake took notice of.
"In order to enact their plans, Humarise took our families hostage and forced us to manufacture Quirk Factor Triggering Bombs against our wills," Alan explained, "The first terrorist attack using one of these devices was merely a ploy," he pointed out, "To gather the world's top heroes in places where Humarise branches are located," he added, causing everyone aside from Rody to perk up in shock.
"Hold on…" Maki uttered, "Does that mean…?" she started to guess.
"The group is planning to use these horrible bombs to eradicate those pros," the scientist told his intended audience, "In an instant, the hero population will be decimated," he stated.
"Ah!" Izuku gasped.
"So the bombs themselves are lures for the heroes…" Weiss realized, balling her hands into fists.
"And Humarise knows they'll take the bait…" Ruby concluded additionally as she grimaced.
"After losing its top heroes, society will collapse," Alan said, "Using the vacuum of chaos afterward, Humarise will wipe out anyone with powers and build a world where only the Quirkless are allowed," he explained, "That is the true goal of Hansha Furimuku, also known as Flect Turn," he continued, "the leader of Humarise," he stated, "A madman…" he mentioned on.
"This is insane…" Yang noted as her left arm trembled slightly.
"Yeah…" Raya agreed.
"I hope my voice will reach the heroes in time," the scientist said, "Eddy Soul, another scientist here, lost his life helping me," he told the viewers, causing Rody to suddenly widen his eyes, while Blake felt her cat ears stick up upon hearing the name, "He made the key I've included that will disarm the bombs at their base," Alan noted, referring to the chip-like object that was also in the puzzle contraption, "Please, save the world…" he pleaded before the video ended. Izuku picked up the disarming key, staring at it in shock. It was the very thing that could defeat Humarise.
All the while, Pino, who was atop Rody's head, shed a few tears. And Blake noticed, seeing how troubled the brunette-haired young man appeared. She clenched her teeth in frustration, turning away. She couldn't really say anything now.
"AAAAAAAHHH!" a woman in the hotel suddenly screamed out, getting everyone's attention. They saw a small crowd of people hurry off in a panic.
"What the hell?" Natalie uttered out. She and the others then noticed a news broadcast playing nearby on a TV.
"Humarise, the organization advocating for the salvation of humanity, has placed bombs around the world," the newscaster told his viewers, "The weapons are set to explode in one hour and fifty-two minutes unless the heroes are able to find and disarm them worldwide," he explained on, "As you might expect, panic has gripped the areas where the devices are said to be located," he mentioned, "Heroes have been working to evacuate people to safety and subvert this attack," he assured, "Areas in danger of being affected by the bombs are as follows," he continued as a worldwide map appeared on the screen with several marked locations.
"No, it can't be!" Rody exclaimed as he looked at one of the locations in particular, "That circle's in Otheon!" he pointed out desperately, "My house is inside of it!" he mentioned, though that wasn't his main concern, "Oh no…!" he uttered, knowing that his brother and sister were likely fearing for their lives. And they were, watching many people fleeing the area from their home as they held onto each other.
"Rody… where are you…?" Roro asked, holding his crying sister close. Their big brother grimaced in frustration from where he was. If nothing was done, his family would be caught up in the eventual catastrophe as well.
"We should send this to HQ and have them order the hero teams to retreat before it's too—"
"We can't do that…" Izuku said, interjecting Shoto as he was about to email the World Heroes' Association. He looked back at his allies, seeing their varying frustrated expressions. Weiss stepped forward.
"The heroes are already out there looking for the Trigger Bombs," she pointed out, "Even if they're the actual targets of the terrorist attack, even if they know this is a trap…" she listed off.
"As long as there are people who need help, the pros will never leave them and run away," Raya finished for her solemnly.
"That's what makes them heroes!" Izuku exclaimed, clenching his trembling fists tightly, "And Humarise counted on this when they came up with their plan…" he mentioned in frustration. There was a long silence amongst everyone in the group. And then Ruby stepped forward.
"Then we use that disarming key!" she decided firmly, "It's up to us to stop those bombs!" she stated.
"But how do we do that…?" her older sister asked, "We don't even know where their main base is…" she pointed out. Hearing that, Katsuki perked up upon realizing something.
"On it!" he exclaimed, jogging over and shoving Shoto aside to access the computer, "The answer has to be in here somewhere," he proclaimed, browsing quickly through the files of the SD card, "You're an idiot if you make a key without telling people where the lock is," he remarked, "We look for the place that wasn't part of their announcement," he said, taking a map of the known Humarise branch locations from a map he found and cross-referencing it to where the bombs were located. One location in Europe wasn't marked with a device, being a small island off the coast. "This is where their base is," the Explosion Quirk user confirmed.
"Nice going, Explosion Boy!" Yang complimented, patting him on the head to his chagrin.
"Kacchan, can you find where the bomb controls are?" Izuku asked as his rival continued look through the data logs in the file.
"Let me work, ya damn nerd…" he grumbled back, going through the entirety of the base's infrastructure.
"It's the furthest area underground…" Maki noted as she narrowed her eyes.
"So we know where it is, but it's more than four hundred kilometers away from where we are…" Weiss pointed out.
"Not like we have a way to MPG there in an instant…" Yang mentioned in annoyance, folding her arms over her chest.
"We can make it," Rody affirmed, getting the group's attention as he was on the other computer, looking at a map of Klayd, "I think I know how to get us there," he told the others, pointing towards the location of a nearby airport.
"Then let's move!" Ruby insisted of the group, "Don't forget anything!" she advised on as they hurried off out of the hotel. Moments later, they had arrived at the local airport, having borrowed a plane for themselves, which the brunette-haired young man flew off of the runway. Pino was chirping atop his head, somewhat panicked.
"Don't worry…" he assured to her, "I know the basic controls," he said, holding onto the yoke with a firm grip, "This is no time to be chirping…" he pointed out to his bird, enticing her to calm down. Back in the cabin, the others were getting themselves dressed for the battle ahead. Izuku noticed that Katsuki, Raya and Shoto were putting on their stealth costumes, surprising him a little. However, he was handed a suitcase by Yang, who gave him a wink. He opened it up to find his own stealth costume, taking on a determined expression.
"I guess now's a good a time as any to try out the new suits for ourselves," Ruby concluded as she opened her own suitcase.
"Whoa, we're actually gonna use the Power Armors from Doctor P?!" her older sister excitedly inquired.
"Well, we are in drastic circumstances…" Weiss pointed out, rolling her eyes. Moments later, the four huntresses were donning their brand new armored suits. All of them had similarities in design, with the armoring covering their whole bodies, save for their heads.
Ruby's was mostly red and black, having a metallic red skirt, with her red cape being hung from the back. Weiss' armor was white and royal blue, with the ends of her robe distinguishing hers from the others. Blake's was mostly black, with her white coattails hanging beside her legs. Lastly, Yang's armor was mostly black, though with more metallic gold instead of the grey that her Faunus teammate had. Parts of her outfit like her neckerchief and leg scarf were provided metallic replacements.
As Maki and Natalie threw on their bunker gear coats, the entire group seemed to be ready to head on out. Shoto adjusted his combat vest and zipped up his boots, standing up from the bench.
'We'll definitely stop the Trigger Bombs…' he vowed inwardly. Meanwhile, Katsuki was clanking down the handles of his flash grenade-like bracers. Adjusting his neck with a crick, he also stood up from his seat.
'We'll crush those crazy cult bastards!' he declared through his thoughts, clenching his gloved fists tightly. In the meantime, Raya was zipping up her suit all the way to her neck, adjusting her ears to fit in the holes of her cowl. She tapped her iron-soled feet against the floor, making sure they were securely in place before standing up.
'We won't let Humarise or Kronos get away with anything they might do next!' she decided through her thoughts. Lastly, Izuku made sure the gloves of his suit were tightly secured, closing his right hand into a fist and giving off a determined expression.
'We'll protect the heroes…' he promised inwardly, 'our friends…' he continued, 'and the world!' he declared as the plane flew on over a mountainside. As it did, Blake curiously looked into the cockpit. Rody didn't need to involve himself at all in this ordeal, but he was doing it anyway. And the cat Faunus knew that he was going through a lot at the moment…
X
As problems were continuing to pile up at the World Heroes' Association, an alarm went off at one operator's station.
"We just received a transmission from a Ruby Rose!" he called out, having his right hand upon the communicator in his ear as everyone around perked up in surprise, "She's an Omni Force member who was sent to Otheon!" he mentioned, "She says she's obtained a master disarming key for the Trigger Bombs!" he quickly informed.
"Where is she now?!" the director questioned.
"Heading to where the villains' main system is located along with some other heroes!" the operator replied, "It's inside a hidden Humarise facility!" he mentioned. All Might grimaced, realizing who else was joining the silver-eyed warrior in the endeavor. He looked toward the location upon the map.
'Young Todoroki… Young Bakugo… Young Tennyson… Young Natalie... Young Midoriya…!' he listed off inwardly out of panic and concern.
"Shoto's figured out a way to disarm these damn devices?!" Enji inquired from back in Otheon, having been informed over the communication line.
"Then let's go support him!" Moe insisted.
"We can't," the Flame Hero said, turning to look back at his sidekick, "Our priority is evacuation in case he and the others should fail," he pointed out to her.
"Endeavor!" Clair's voice suddenly called out from the line, getting his attention.
"What is it?!" he immediately questioned. The Voyance Quirk user was gliding aboard her sidekick in front of the oddly-shaped skyscraper near the city's center. Her eyes were glowing red.
"I finally found the target!" she confirmed.
"Where?!" Enji asked.
"It's in front of the North Gate of Otheon Tower, inside a semi-truck!" Clair quickly informed.
"Heroes to the tower!" the Hellflame Quirk user commanded to his colleagues over the communication line, flying ahead alongside Moe as quickly as he could, "Get that bomb out of here!" he insisted firmly.
"Roger!" they all responded.
"AH!" Clair's voice suddenly yelped, causing Enji to perk up in surprise.
"Clair, come in!" he called out in concern, putting his left hand onto his ear. Before he could even think to say anything, he and his sidekick were suddenly entrapped by bright green tendrils, being hoisted into the air in yelps along with several vehicles. "What the hell is this?!" he yelled out. He glanced down to see a masked Humarise member below with the tendrils protruding from his arms. Meanwhile, Clair and her sidekick were being pinned against the tower windows by a cultist who had rocky arms.
"Keep all heroes away from the Humanity Salvation Device!" he instructed to his comrades, not noticing the crow gliding towards him from above, "They will truly understand the sickness they've created when we—!" His declaration was cut short when Qrow transformed back to human, landing a powerful punch to his masked head to knock him away, while freeing Clair and her sidekick as they fell onto the ground upon their feet.
"Branwen…" the Voyance Quirk user uttered, seeing the huntsman draw his Harbinger, spinning it into a firm grip in his right hand.
"Let's clear these guys out and then take that bomb outta here," he insisted of the Otheon hero. She took on a serious expression.
"Right!" she agreed, drawing her pulse gun from her holster to prepare for the battle ahead. In the meantime, Enji and Moe were struggling to free themselves from their foe's entrapment. All of a sudden though, Raven dashed by and slashed the bright green tendrils apart.
"What?!" the Humarise member exclaimed, followed by being ambushed with a shot to the back of his neck, causing him to fall over unconscious onto the ground. It turned out the bullet that hit him came from Takehisa, who ran over.
"Humarise members are gathering by the tower!" he called out to the airborne heroes above.
"In case we found the bombs, they'd be prepared to fend us off as long as they could…" Enji realized, narrowing his eyes, "HQ, did you get that?!" he called out in question over the communication line, continuing with Moe and his other colleagues towards the tower. Back in Japan, Kyoka gasped upon hearing the latest update.
"Shoji, they're saying Midoriya and the others are headed to disarm the bombs!" she yelled to the Dupli-Arms Quirk user.
"Don't lose focus!" he insisted in response, causing her to blink in surprise, "For now, we need to keep concentrating on the mission we were charged with," he advised seriously while having multiple eyes and ears duplicated upon the tips of his tentacles.
"Right!" she responded, putting her hands back onto her headphones, "Yeah…" she said. As they continued their search, Kugo perked up as his sonar had located something.
"There! I've found it!" he called out, "It's in the third container of that freight train!" he exclaimed as the transport was racing down the tracks in the distance, "Quickly shrimps, go!" he shouted to his colleagues.
"We're on it!" Taishiro responded as he and Tamaki jumped aboard the train, hurrying down the cars. However, they were brought to a stop as they saw Humarise members leap out in front of them. The one in front had drill-like arms, ripping off the sleeves of his robe.
"Oh no… villains!" the Manifest Quirk user gasped, seeing three more villains jump down and land behind them, each readying their unique abilities.
"Crap, of course there'd be guards!" Taishiro complained. He then noticed one member in particular take off his mask and hold up his pointer finger, which had a small insect upon it. "A bug?" the Fat Absorption Quirk user uttered, followed by widening his eyes to see the Humarise member let the insect crawl into his mouth. He then started to tremble before bursting into flames as he screamed.
"What the hell is that?!" Tamaki wondered aloud. Meanwhile, his mentor put his hand over the communicator in his right ear.
"We got a bit of a problem here!" he called out, "There's Humarise guys guarding the bomb, and one just burst into flames from eating some kinda bug!" his voice echoed, causing a flying Shinra to perk up in surprise.
'An Infernal?! Here?!' he questioned inwardly as he grimaced, 'No time to think about it!' he told himself, veering around a corner, 'I gotta get to where that bomb is as soon as I can!' he proclaimed through his thoughts. However, he then overheard explosions nearby, causing him to stop and look around as he hovered in midair thanks to the fire expelling from his feet. He suddenly noticed a huge, tall, and very muscular man with lightly colored hair hopping from rooftop to rooftop, leaving blasts in his wake. He was seen wearing a blindfold branded with a red cross symbol. His outfit itself resembled a martial arts uniform, similar to a kimono, with darkly-colored finger-less gloves, he also had a belt bearing the same cross symbol as his blindfold, toeless Tabi, and an exposed chest.
"Oh, you've gotta be kidding me…" Shinra growled, flying over as quickly as he could. Meanwhile, Rachael and Laura perked up upon hearing the nearby blasts from a street filled with evacuated cars.
"Those don't sound like gas bombs going off…" the former of the two pointed out as she narrowed her eyes.
"No…" the mutant girl with her agreed. All of a sudden, she felt her nose twitch. "¡Estar atento!" she cried out, tackling the requip user away before she could get caught up in a sudden fiery blast, which knocked over a few cars.
"What the hell?!" Rachael exclaimed as she sat up.
"Oh… you actually dodged that?" a female voice inquired, getting the attentions of both girls as they perked up to see an approaching figure. It was a young woman with short pink hair and pink eyes and a thin yet voluptuous build. She wore a sleeveless puffy white onesie, with a darkly colored fabric under the white outer layer. She also wore white sandal-like shoes that covered the majority of her feet, except her toes and heels, and she had golden circlets around her biceps and neck, as well as a black and gold crown-like object on her head. The most noticeable feature was her huge padded sleeves. Rachael noticed her glowing eyes, with a five-pointed star-like iris in them.
"Who the hell are you?!" she asked, drawing forth a sword in a flash of golden light.
"Hmm…" Inca hummed, putting her right pointer finger upon her chin, "I guess I'm just another villain in this case…" she assumed with a shrug, "But as long as it puts me in the most amazing danger, I'm fine with it!" she concluded excitedly.
"Rrrrr…" Laura growled, drawing her adamantium claws.
"Let's take her down quick!" Rachael insisted, charging forward.
"Oh, you might wanna watch where you step…" Inca warned, waving her left pointer finger to the confusion of the requip user, "Right about… there!" she exclaimed. Just as Rachael took her next step, she was blown back by another blast that erupted at her feet. She quickly regained her balance and landed down safely upon the street, widening her eyes.
'What was that…?!' she questioned inwardly, 'It wasn't like I stepped on a landmine or something, right?!' she inquired of herself. She then took another look at her opponent. 'No, that's not it…' she started to realize, grimacing in frustration. From the White-Clad's point of view, she was seeing invisible pathways that she waved her fingers across, resulting in more blasts.
"Heehee!" she giggled, "So, shall we continue?!" she inquired excitedly. In France, the situation had gotten incredibly dire. Though the heroes had discovered the bomb's location, not only were Humarise members there to defend it, but also hordes of Grimm.
"Dammit!" Weisz cursed, quickly having metal panels form along his body to create a metal suit for himself, "I was hoping to save Arsenal for the big hero moment!" he complained, quickly punching back a Beowolf before producing a small machine gun on his left forearm to fire shots onto some Lancers buzzing about.
"That shouldn't be important, Weisz!" Rebecca shouted, firing her Happy Blasters as she sped about the street as a pack of Ursai were chasing her, "We need to focus on getting that bomb as far away from here as possible!" she pointed out seriously. An Ursa was about to pounce on her, only to get knocked back by an invisible force. It turned out to be a camouflaged Miles, who flipped over the Grimm before firing a web line onto the street to reel himself down. His left fist glowed and crackled with orange energy, striking the ground to zap any other shadowy monsters closing in on him.
As Nejire blasted back Lancers with her twisting waves of yellow energy, Homura easily cut down Beowolves below with her energy blades in her hands. Meanwhile, Shiki was landing powerfully heavy punches to the Humarise members attempting to attack him, blowing them away. Watching the battles unfold from afar, Vali exhaled a deep breath.
"I think it's time for us to get in on this, Albion," he decided.
"Indeed," the voice of the Vanishing Dragon agreed, "Vanishing Dragon… BALANCE BREAKER!" he exclaimed. A bright blue light cloaked the Longinus wielder before he donned a set of white draconic armor with a pair of light blue energy wings.
"Uravity, Froppy, hurry!" Ryuko called out to her work study students before putting her hand atop the claws over face, enveloping herself in a burst of grey smoke. Emerging from it was her in her draconic form. "Get that bomb away from everyone!" she instructed in a deeper voice, interlocking hands with a lion-like Humarise member.
"Will do!" Ochaco responded, while Tsuyu ribbited. The two of them hurried off towards the semi-truck that contained the dastardly device.
'I believe Deku and the others will stop the bombs for us…' the Zero Gravity Quirk user affirmed to herself with confidence, 'but we'll do what we can to back them up until then!' she vowed, seeing a few Humarise members and some Grimm land down in front of her and her classmate.
"GET OUT OF THE WAY!" she yelled, extending her hands out. Elsewhere, Weisz had just blasted down a Sabyr, letting out a relieved breath afterwards.
"Man, talk about dull…" he muttered, "I wish there was more than just these freaky shadow monsters or stupid cultist creeps to take down…" he grumbled on.
"Then I suppose you're in luck," Vali remarked as he suddenly sped in behind the armored Machina Maker Ether Gear user.
"When did you—?!" His question was halted as the Longinus wielder slammed his fist against his armored stomach, causing the metal to shatter apart. "GUAAAAHHHH!" he screamed out. Shiki perked up upon overhearing it.
"Weisz?!" he exclaimed, quickly floating up and flying over to where he heard his friend scream. He widened his eyes in shock to find him lying upon the street with most of his armor shattered apart, while Vali loomed over him. He turned to see the Satan Gravity Ether Gear user floating nearby.
"Ah, it's you…" he noted, narrowing his eyes underneath his armor. An angered expression formed upon Shiki's face as he growled. He was ready to take the Longinus wielder down.
Back in Egypt, Robbie engulfed himself in flames, taking the form of the Ghost Rider as he swung his enflamed chain out to knock back Humarise members coming after him. Riri launched repulsor blasts from her hands, blowing away more. Through her armor's H.U.D., she took notice of a flatbed truck in the distance, which had the Trigger Bomb upon it.
"Found it!" she called out, "It's on a truck a mile out from here!" she informed to the group.
"We're on our way!" Denki responded through the communication line, running along hurriedly with Hanta and Minoru. All of a sudden though, they were ambushed by a fiery arrow that struck the ground in front of them in a powerful blast.
"Wh-What the heck?!" the Pop Off Quirk user stammered out as the smoke cleared.
"Was that a villain?" Denki guessed.
"I think it's something worse…" Hanta admitted. Perched atop a building nearby was a young woman with long dark-blue hair with light-colored clips in her bangs, and up-pointing arrows as her irises in each dark blue eye, while a scar was across her face. She donned a uniform with a white burqa-like mask, a white cape with shoulder-guards, a jumper with a red cross-insignia on it, white gloves and white trousers. She had a flaming bow in her possession, which she set another fiery arrow upon as she aimed it at the three boys.
Meanwhile, Riri and Robbie had caught up with Pan, Ogun, and Tamaki, closing in on the flatbed truck. As they did though, the female pyrokinetic of the group screeched to a quick halt. The others did the same.
"What's wrong?" the devil-possessed teen inquired. He and the others looked ahead to see a young woman with shoulder length teal hair and bangs that covered her eyes. Her outfit resembled a cream-colored maid uniform with high-heel shoes. In addition to wearing a red cross across her entire ensemble, her clothing had a prominent stitch mark pattern, including her tights.
"It's a White-Clad!" Ogun exclaimed.
"Not just any one either…" Tamaki mentioned grimly as she grimaced. Ritsu chuckled. Around were several dead bodies of Humarise members, much to the shock and confusion of the young heroes
"I think six or seven should be enough for now…" she inferred, tenting her hands, "Necro Pyro," she uttered. All of a sudden, the corpses on the ground rose up, bursting into flames.
"Aw, shit!" Ogun cursed.
"They turned Infernal…" Tamaki grumbled out.
"Weren't you saying you couldn't take 'em out without a prayer first or something?" Riri inquired.
"Don't worry, we have a sister right here to do that for us," Pan assured, putting his whistle into his mouth, "Let's take these guys down and get that bomb outta here!" he insisted of his colleagues.
"Right!" they all responded in agreement. Back in the United States, Grimm were flooding the streets, but were easily being taken down by the likes of the Occult Research Club members, save for Issei, who was still airborne, and Asia, who was tending to anyone injured. Xenovia slashed down an Ursa with her Durandal before continuing down the street.
'I trust that Fumikage's teacher will easily find the bomb with all of his feathers roaming about in search of it…' she noted to herself, 'but I can't shake this feeling this seems too easy…' she admitted inwardly. All of a sudden, she saw a pair of Beowolves suddenly get pierced by several bone-like structures, much to her shock as she gasped. As she saw them fade away into ashes, she took notice of Zenon there, who had several bones protruding from his body. He glanced over and spotted her.
"You're a devil…" he noted as he narrowed his eyes. Up in the skies above, Hawks perked up.
"Found something, Bird Man?" Issei asked as he flew beside him with Fumikage.
"Yeah, I've located the bomb," the Wing Hero responded, "I'm gonna need all the feathers I can to extract it though, so I'll have to land for a bit," he pointed out.
"We'll make sure you're covered," the Dark Shadow Quirk user affirmed.
"AAAAHHH!" a voice suddenly screamed through the communication channel, causing the three airborne men to perk up in surprise.
"That was Xenovia's voice…!" Issei realized upon recognizing it, "She's in trouble!" he yelled, soaring off into the city below.
"Issei, wait!" Fumikage shouted out.
"Don't worry about me, Tsukuyomi," Hawks insisted of his work study student, "There'll be others heroes to back me up as I get rid of the bomb," he assured, "You go help your girlfriend!" he advised before dashing off.
"Sh-She's not my…!" the Dark Shadow Quirk user tried to stammer out in proclamation, only for his mentor to already be long gone, "Huh…" he sighed out. He caught up with Issei as they descended onto the street, seeing all the damage that had been done.
"Shitballs…" the Red Dragon Emperor uttered out in shock, "Did those fucked up cultists do all this?" he wondered aloud.
"It doesn't seem like them, nor Grimm even…" Fumikage mentioned, looking around. The two of them then heard a nearby creaking sound, causing them to come to a stop. "Who's there?!" the Dark Shadow Quirk user questioned aloud, "Show yourself!" he demanded. Coming out from the corner was Zenon, though that wasn't what shocked them. It was the fact that the bones protruding from his body had several dead Humarise members upon them, having pierced through their bodies. And along with them was Xenovia, whose arms and legs had been pierced through.
"Xenovia!" Issei screamed, while Fumikage's eyes were widened. At that moment, Zenon turned to see them there.
"So there's more than one devil, hm?" he noted aloud. Back in Singapore, Momo was looking at a scanner she had created, which was connected to each of the sensors she had Setsuna set around the city in search of the bomb. As she and Enma flew around in search themselves, they suddenly heard a ping in their ears.
"We've located the bomb!" Big Red Dot called out over the communication line. He, Alice, Mackenzie and Christina were in a park where the device had been planted, with several Humarise members scattered about unconscious upon the ground. "All resistance has been taken care of promptly!" he affirmed into his communicator as his right hand was placed against his ear.
"Get it as high into the air as possible!" Sunset instructed through his earpiece, "We might not be able to stop the bomb from going off, but we can divert the gas!" she confirmed.
"Roger!" the Singapore hero responded, "Silver Ice, will you lend me your aid?" he requested of the ice and water mage.
"Of course, sir!" she replied, throwing off her white coat. She then palmed her hands against the ground, "Water-Make: Geyser!" she chanted, having a powerful gush of water erupt underneath the bomb, sending it high up into the air. Big Red Dot followed up with his own gush unleashed from his mouth, combining it with Alice's to send the device higher into the sky.
"Alright, we're golden!" Mackenzie exclaimed confidently. However, Christina looked up and blinked in surprise.
"Wait, what's that?" she questioned, pointing towards something floating beside the nearby building. It turned out to be Shura, whose coat and hair waved with the wind. He chuckled as he held his right hand out at the Trigger Bomb, making his light green Ether Gear markings appear.
"Fall," he uttered. All of a sudden, the water propelling the bomb upward burst apart. Big Red Dot and Alice found themselves brought down onto their hands and knees, along with Mackenzie and Christina.
"What the…?!" the ice and water mage exclaimed through a grimace.
'Everything just got heavy all of a sudden…!' Mackenzie noted inwardly, clenching her teeth together out of pain.
'Is that boy producing all this gravitational force…?!' Big Red Dot wondered through his thoughts.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Shura cackled, "Oh man, this is too great!" he proclaimed, "I get to go ahead and crush some stupid scrubs for thinking they could actually 'save' their precious little country…" he pointed out mockingly, moving the bomb so that it was right over the four people he had pinned to the ground, "And better yet, I can do it with the thing they won't be able to stop!" he mentioned, simply flicking his wrist downward. The bomb shot down toward the ground, about to crush those that were pinned as they grimaced. However, a figure suddenly hopped in just as it was a mere foot away from striking, being none other than Rumi.
"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!" she roared, kicking the bomb aside as it tumbled over the grass for a couple dozen yards. Shura widened his eyes in surprise. "Phew!" the Rabbit Hero exhaled, reaching out to pick Christina up as the others managed to bring themselves back onto their feet, "That was way too close for comfort…" she pointed out. At that moment, Sunset arrived alongside Noelle and Setsuna, as the latter reattached her body parts to each other.
"What happened?" the veteran Equestrian Magic user asked.
"We were trying to get the bomb in the air like you said we should," Alice replied, "But then this villain showed up and stopped us with his gravity Quirk…" he pointed out, looking up at Shura, who glowered down at his foes.
"Gravity?" Setsuna repeated in surprise, "If it's a Quirk that powerful, then we might be in trouble…" she pointed out with a grimace.
"Dot, focus on the bomb with Alice," Sunset advised to the Singapore hero, "We can handle this guy ourselves," she assured.
"Yeah!" Rumi agreed with a wicked smirk.
"You're that confident in numbers, huh?" Shura assumed overhead, "Well, you still got those guys to deal with…" he pointed out. At that moment, Sunset felt her pony ears twitch, whipping her head around to see several Humarise members and Grimm charging toward them.
"Shoot!" she yelled in frustration.
"Everyone!" a familiar voice called out, getting their attentions as they saw Enma and Momo fly in aboard the former's rings of multicolored light. Shura perked up and grinned wickedly.
"Ooh, so she finally shows up!" he pointed out, excitedly extending his right hand towards the incoming Creation Quirk user. All of a sudden, she yelped out as she found herself floated upwards off of the rings of light.
"Momo!" Alice exclaimed in panic, seeing her head toward the Satan Gravity Ether Gear user.
"Been a while since I last found a girl pretty enough to be my next pet," he noted aloud with a smirk, "You're mine…" he declared to Momo's fright. However, he failed to take notice of an incoming Asta until it was almost too late, seeing that he had a blackness shrouding the right upper-half of his body, with a wing unfolded from his back, and a horn protruding from his head. He also had a scar-like marking running over his right eye, which was now crimson. Swiping at Shura with his Demon-Slayer Sword, he forced him fly back to avoid the attack.
The Creation Quirk user found herself no longer caught in his gravitational hold, starting to plummet towards the ground below. Fortunately, the Anti-Magic user flew in and caught her, setting her down gently as they landed. The Satan Gravity Ether Gear user gave off an irritated expression toward the Black Bull.
"Who the hell are you…?" he inquired aloud, getting his attention. Around the world, heroes were fighting their battles to get to the bombs and get them away as soon as possible. Even as Humarise members, Grimm, and Infernals roamed about in the attempt to stop them.
"Our teams have found the devices, but they're meeting resistance from Humarise!" one operator from back at the WHA headquarters noted to his colleagues.
"We've got less than thirty minutes left now!" another pointed out additionally.
'Everyone is fighting so desperately…' All Might inwardly noted, clutching his injury at his stomach as he grimaced with worry, 'Best of luck… future heroes!' he exclaimed through his thoughts.
X
Rain was starting to pour as the Cessna flew over the mountain, as its radar indicated that it was closing in on the destination. Back in the cabin, Maki lit a pair of matches. The fire that expelled from them was formed into a pair of fireballs that had faces upon them, with one looking rather curious, while the other looked angry. Carefully waving her fingers, the second-generation fire soldier loaded them into her metal hunks, powering them up.
"The Tekkyo's ready," she confirmed, making sure to also set her witch's hat upon her head.
"Good," Natalie said, "'Cause I doubt you could make a decent fire in this weather…" she muttered while looking out the window at the rainy sky.
"Almost there!" Rody called out from the cockpit as the plane flew around a mountain, closing in on the location as it was located in the mountainside itself. Inside, live footage of the incoming plane was shown to Flect, Salem, and Haumea. The former of the three turned to three of his followers that were behind him.
"The afflicted must be purged!" he demanded of them. The three hooded figures bowed in response, heading off in opposite directions.
"I better get a shot at that kicking bastard…" Haumea snickered out.
"Calm yourself, Haumea," Salem insisted, "I'm sure you'll have your chance to kill some of these miscreants…" she affirmed with a chuckle.
"That's it! The base!" Rody exclaimed as the plane was closing in on the location, "Going in for a landing!" he called out to his passengers, "Brace yourselves!" he warned.
"No. Rody, you turn back," Izuku insisted in response, much to his surprise.
"What…?" he uttered out, watching as Izuku pressed the button to open the side door up.
"Extras like you should stay out of the way," Katsuki bluntly insisted as he and the others approached the door, feeling the wind rush through their hair.
"He has a point, even if he could've phrased it better…" Weiss noted, approaching the door. One by one, they quickly jumped out, diving through the rain toward the base below.
"This is a job for heroes!" they all exclaimed. Bullets were shot up at them from below, as Shoto ignited flames around his left arm to balance himself. Several Humarise members were already out at the entrance, firing onto the ten individuals looking to interfere with their plans.
"Raya, follow me!" Ruby called out to the Equestrian Magic user, getting her attention.
"Right!" she responded, ponying up in a bright flash of light. The Team RWBY leader burst into a red cluster of rose petals, shooting herself down toward the cultists. As she reformed, she drew her Crescent Rose in its scythe form. She hooked a trio of Humarise members before they could react, flinging them aside.
Raya zipped down in a zigzag pattern, slamming into one cultist before dashing over to kick aside another, all while evading bullets. Curling her thumbs to the bases of her pinkies and holding them in place with her pointer fingers, Natalie rocketed down instantaneously with flames expelling from her feet. She kicked aside a half dozen members of the firing squad, while another half was disarmed by Ruby, who sliced their weapons out of their hands. The rest of the group was continuing their descent, with Katsuki and Yang leading the way.
"I don't have time for you idiots!" the former roared, unleashing multiple, rapid fire blasts from his gloved hands down onto the cultists, knocking them down. Grinning, the blonde-haired huntress readied her Ember Celica, firing off shots of her own to hinder the Humarise members. One of them hurried out and readied his cannon-like arms, firing green bursts of energy toward the incoming invaders.
'Some of their members have Quirks, too!' Izuku noted inwardly, weaving aside in midair to evade the blasts coming his way. One would've hit him had it not been for Weiss descending in front of him, projecting a white glyph to shield them. In the meantime, Shoto expelled fire from his left foot to soften his landing.
"I didn't expect there to be so many of them…!" he admitted aloud, swinging his left arm out to unleash flames onto the Humarise members, forcing them to back off. Weiss then slid her fingers along the blade of her Myrtenaster, as its revolver clicked into place. A quartet of glyphs appeared around her, shooting out a flurry of ice shards that slammed into cultists below. One removed his mask, taking a deep breath before unleashing a sonic scream up into the air, having it crash onto Katsuki.
'A sound wave?!' he inwardly exclaimed, grimacing as he covered his ears. Fortunately for him, Izuku fell into the trees, grasping a branch to flip forward. He swung his left leg out, unleashing a pressurized blast of air onto the Humarise member attacking his rival, blowing him away in an instant.
"Kacchan!" the One For All inheritor called out to the Explosion Quirk user as he landed down on the ground, sliding across it.
"Yeah, yeah, I know!" he responded out of irritation, regaining his composure as he fired off more blasts down onto the Humarise members below. Riding in aboard the Tekkyo were Maki and Blake, with the latter jumping off as she drew her Gambol Shroud's katana from her back. She slashed mightily at one cultist's rifle, slicing it in half as its pieces fell to the ground, followed by forming shadow clones to propel herself forward and evade more gunfire.
Meanwhile, the second-generation pyrokinetic hopped off of the metal hunk she rode upon, engaging in close combat with the Humarise members. With several quick jabs, punches, and even head-butts, she was knocking out a good portion of the cultists outside. Blasts continued to erupt as smoke billowed into the rainy sky.
Shoto rode a wave of ice through it, leaping off and launching ice shards from his right arm to strike down more members as they were slammed against or pinned to a rock wall. Forming another array of glyphs, Weiss launched fireballs that blasted back others. The battle seemed to be in their favor, especially as Ruby, Raya, and Natalie sped ahead, with Blake and Maki following. The cultists attempted to stop them, but were suddenly ambushed from above by Izuku, who swung his right leg down to unleash a pressurized burst of air. It went through a white glyph, amplifying its power as it slammed down onto the Humarise members, making them cry out in agony.
"I've got you!" Shoto called out, catching his classmate while riding an ice wave. He held the freckled teen in front of him, allowing him to make the outer layers of his gloves jolt forward before he flicked his fingers, unleashing more pressurized blasts of air onto their enemies. Weiss followed after them, looking back to see that Katsuki and Yang were still battling the cultists at the entrance.
"Yang, Katsuki!" she called out to them, "We'll leave those guys to you!" she decided, riding off on her own ice wave that she formed, pursuing her teammates.
"Stop them!" one female Humarise member yelled as she and her colleagues fired onto their fleeing foes. However, they were all caught off guard by the blonde-haired huntress, who kicked one of them aside before firing onto the others with shots from her Ember Celica gauntlets. She let off a smirk afterward.
"Ya hear that, Explosion Boy?" she inquired of the Explosion Quirk user, who had just landed down, "You and me are partners in this!" she informed.
"Don't tell me what to do!" he yelled as he unleashed rapid-fire blasts onto other cultists around the entrance.
"Heh," Yang chuckled, blasting herself over and landing a right hook to one cultist's face, shattering his mask in the process.
"Take them down!" one member inside the base yelled as gunfire rained out onto the remaining eight invaders still charging ahead. They were promptly knocked out by the combined kicks of Raya and Natalie, while the others caught up to them, with Izuku, Weiss, Blake, and Maki riding Shoto's ice wave.
"It's a right at the end of this hallway," the One For All inheritor noted as the Half-Cold, Half-Hot Quirk user brushed his hair back to put his flames out.
"Hold on!" he advised of his colleagues, hurrying down the route with them. Back outside, the cultists at the entrance were continuing to get bombarded by blasts shot rapidly from Katsuki's palms, while Yang took down those fortunate enough to avoid her partner's explosions with powerful punches. Ultimately, all the Humarise members present at the entrance had fallen.
"Hmph," the Explosion Quirk user scoffed as he landed down again, brushing his right thumb across his nose, "Couldn't be easier…" he remarked aloud. Standing next to him, the blonde-haired huntress blinked in surprise.
"Huh…" she sighed afterward, "Tell me you didn't just say that…" she grumbled as she put her prosthetic hand on her head in exasperation.
"Huh?" Katsuki uttered, arching an eyebrow underneath his mask as he glanced over to her. All of a sudden, the two of them heard something whisking toward them. They quickly blasted themselves upward to avoid the bellow sword-like blades whipping at them. They watched as they retracted to a man of average build and fair skin with bowl-cut indigo hair, yellow reptilian eyes with dark purple markings surrounding them, and a set of large fangs. He wore a simple red and white tunic with gray boots. Yang could hear him giggling under his breath as his arms reformed from the blades, causing her to step back cautiously.
"This guy's definitely bad news…" she noted aloud as she landed beside the Explosion Quirk user, narrowing her eyes.
"Why are you morons helping Humarise?" Katsuki asked, causing her to look over at him in confusion, "You've got Quirks!" he pointed out.
"Uh, pretty sure there's only one of them, dude…" Yang said, pointing toward the snake-like man, who sneered.
"Because we were personally chosen by Flect as the worthy!" he proclaimed. All of a sudden, a man who looked exactly like him slid out from behind him.
"We will work alongside Humarise and live in their rebuilt world!" he declared on.
"Oh great, twins…" Yang muttered out, taking on a fighting stance as she held her fists up.
"Tch," Katsuki scoffed, "Oh, I get it! You're just trying to save your own butts!" he concluded disdainfully, all while the twin villains giggled, forming their arms into bellow sword-like blades once more, "Talk about selfish!" their explosive opponent roared as he reared his hands back, "As expected of villains!" he yelled on, blasting himself up into the air, while the blonde-haired huntress shot forward, "DIIIEEEEEE!" he bellowed, swinging his arms down to unleash a powerful explosion down onto them. However, they respectively extended their blades off to opposite sides, pulling themselves out of the way before they could be struck.
Gasping lightly in surprise, Yang blasted herself after the one going to her left, firing off a few shots from her gauntlets towards him. He weaved out of the way, sneering all the while as he and his brother were swiftly evading their foes' attacks. Katsuki grimaced as he landed upon the ground.
'They're fast!' he noted to himself. Ena and Dio then began their own assault, extending their whip-like blades out through the dust toward their two foes.
"Shit…!" Yang cursed, having to blast herself out of the way before she wound up nicked at her right shoulder.
"Huh?" Ena uttered in confusion as he blinked, seeing that no blood had been drawn from the blow, "How…?" he wondered aloud. Before he could even think of anything else, the blonde-haired huntress grabbed the black rope in between the sectioned blades.
"Gotcha'!" she yelled, about to yank him over. However, she underestimated her foe's strength as he suddenly swung her down, slamming her against the ground in a flurry of dirt and dust. It quickly cleared, revealing her quickly standing back up.
'These guys are strong…' she noted to herself, 'Are they drugged?' she inquired inwardly. Meanwhile, Katsuki was barely managing to parry the blades of Dio as they nicked his knee bracers. He was already in enough trouble until Ena came in from behind, readying his own blades.
'It seems like the woman's a little stronger than most…' he concluded through his thoughts as he sneered wickedly.
'So we'll make mincemeat out of you first!' his brother inwardly decided. Together, the twins swung their whip-like blades at the Explosion Quirk user. Before he could even think to do anything, the blades crossed his line of sight… and struck.
"GUAH!" he yelled in pain.
"KATSUKI!" Yang screamed, seeing blood pour down onto the rocky ground, along with half of the Explosion Quirk user's mask and hood.
"Hahahahahaha! AHAHAHAHAHA!" Dio cackled excitedly. Snarling, Yang launched herself over at him.
"You're not just fighting him, you bastards!" she roared, rearing her prosthetic fist back. However, Ena swung his whips out to wrap around her metal arm, pulling her away. That allowed for his brother to lash her a couple of times with his blades, sending her tumbling across the ground.
"Ergh…" she growled in frustration, pushing herself back up onto her feet. Elsewhere in the forest just ahead of the base, Rody had crashed the plane into a clearing, having disembarked from it with Pino.
"I won't just stay behind… I have to help!" he declared as he hurried ahead. However, the sound of a tree branch snapping caught his attention as he widened his eyes. He turned and grimaced to find that there was a platoon of Humarise members that were in front of him, all but one with their weapons aimed.
"You're Rody Soul, aren't you?" the one without a rifle asked.
X
Back in France, the tension in the air was thick as Shiki glared at Vali. His Ether Gear markings shined a bright green while his teeth were grit. He seemed ready to kill the White Dragon Emperor.
"Do you remember me?" he inquired of the Satan Gravity Ether Gear user, causing him to perk up in surprise, "I was the one who helped you and your friends save Issei Hyodo from his Juggernaut Drive," he recalled, "And I was surprised at the potential you and your friends showed that day…" he mentioned, narrowing his eyes underneath his armor.
"What the hell are you talking about?" Shiki questioned.
"Hmph," the Longinus wielder scoffed, lifting his right foot up over Weisz's head to the Satan Gravity Ether Gear user's surprise, "You're like Issei, aren't you?" he assumed, "Meaning that if I were to kill this boy right now, you would—"
"GET AWAY FROM HIM!" Shiki roared, shooting himself down to tackle Vali aside before he could stomp on his friend.
"Ergh… Shiki…" he groaned out through a wince.
"That's it…" the White Dragon Emperor said as he flew up, sounding satisfied, "Now we'll have the battle I want…" he affirmed as he laughed.
"I won't let you kill my friends!" Shiki declared, launching himself after his opponent and rearing his left fist back, "Magimech Attack…" he began inwardly, "GRAVITY FIST!" he roared as he struck the Longinus Wielder in the face. However, he barely recoiled, much to his shock. "Wha…?!" he gasped out.
"Is that all… YOU'VE GOT?!" Vali bellowed, kicking his foe down onto the street in an instant, resulting in a flurry of dust billowing up as abandoned cars tumbled over. From afar, Nejire took notice.
"Hey, guys!" she called out, getting the attentions of Tsuyu, Rebecca, and Miles, "Something's going on at nine o'clock!" she noted, pointing towards the billowing dust clouds.
"I am detecting Mister Weisz and Master Shiki in that area…" Pino noted atop the Surge Quirk user's head.
"Shiki…" Rebecca uttered worriedly, gripping her Happy Blasters tightly and taking on a determined expression, "Nejire!" she called out, "Have Pino go with Ochaco to take care of the bomb!" she advised, "We'll go back up Shiki with whatever he's dealing with!" she declared.
"Okay, got it!" the Surge Quirk user responded, flying back off towards the truck where her other colleagues were. In the meantime, Shiki and Vali were continuing to exchange blows in midair, as the former clenched his teeth together. He reared his right fist back, creating a sphere of dark violet, gravitational energy over it.
"Magimech Attack…" he began, "Gravity Cannon!" he yelled, unleashing the sphere toward his opponent. However, it suddenly started shrinking before it struck the White Dragon Emperor, who barely recoiled. "No way…!" the Satan Gravity Ether Gear user gasped.
"Hmph," his foe scoffed, "Nothing more than a light breeze from you…" he remarked, kicking his enemy down hard onto the roof of a car. Before he could even think to get back up, the Longinus wielder slammed his right foot against him hard, causing blood to go flying out from his mouth. "Weren't you supposed to be called a 'Demon King' of sorts?" he wondered aloud to his foe, getting his attention, "How pitiful…" he remarked. Shiki clenched his teeth together, grabbing his leg.
"My name… IS SHIKI!" he roared, throwing the White Dragon Emperor off of him as he flew up into the air. He stood up from the car, breathing heavily as blood dripped out of his mouth.
"Shiki!" Rebecca's voice cried out, getting his attention as he glanced over to see her, Tsuyu and Miles running over.
"Who the heck's he fighting?" the latter of the approaching trio wondered aloud.
"He's wearing armor that looks a lot like Hyodo's…" the Frog Quirk user pointed out.
"Don't worry, Shiki!" Rebecca assured, readying her Happy Blasters, "We'll help you stop this guy and then—"
"No, worry about the bomb and get Weisz outta here!" the Satan Gravity Ether Gear user insisted, interrupting her, "I'll make sure this guy doesn't get anywhere close to it!" he promised, taking on a ready stance as his Ether Gear markings expanded, starting to float around him as an aura off of his body.
"Wait… Weisz?" Rebecca uttered in confusion, only to glance over and see the Machina Maker Ether Gear user struggling to sit up, "Weisz!" she exclaimed as she ran over, helping to lift him onto his feet as she draped his right arm over her shoulders, "What happened?!" she asked out of concern.
"Shiki…" he groaned out, "get that bastard for me, will ya…?!" he requested in spite of his pain.
"Yeah," the Satan Gravity Ether Gear user responded, shooting him a thumbs up, "I'm gonna crush him!" he declared with a fierce glare towards Vali.
"You won't even be able to crush an insect after I'm done with you…" he proclaimed in response. Elsewhere, Homura was slashing back several Humarise members and Grimm that were surrounding the semi-truck that contained the Trigger Bomb. She grimaced, seeing more closing it that she wouldn't be able to stop. However, some of them started floating upwards as Ochaco sped by and tapped them with her fingertips.
"Homura, now!" she called out. Perking up in realization, the Soul Blade Ether Gear user took a deep, concentrated breath as her markings shined a bright red.
'Soul Breathing… Sixth Form!' she exclaimed inwardly, having several energy blades appear around her.
"ODIN… STRIKE!" she bellowed as the blades shot out at her airborne foes. They pierced through the Grimm, making them fade into ashes, while also taking down the Humarise members. Ochaco tapped her fingertips together, exhaling a deep breath of relief.
"Hey, Uravity! Homura!" Nejire's voice called out, getting their attentions as they saw her fly over, with Pino standing atop her head. The little android hopped down, enticing Ochaco to catch her in her arms. "Dropping her off to help you out!" the Surge Quirk user informed to them before soaring off to assist Ryuko against the Humarise member she was battling.
"You think you can help disable the bomb?" Ochaco inquired of Pino.
"It is possible," she assured with a nod, "But in case of failure, we should move the device to a safe location so that no one is caught up in the blast," she advised seriously.
"Allow me to help," Homura insisted, drawing a pair of energy blades before slashing apart the trailer of the semi-truck, revealing the Trigger Bomb inside.
"Thanks, Homura!" Ochaco exclaimed with gratitude, having Pino hang onto the back of her head as she jumped up to grab hold of the device.
'The sooner we stop this thing, the sooner we can help Deku and the others stop Humarise for good!' she proclaimed inwardly, activating her Quirk as a pink glow emitted from her fingertips, lightening the bomb for her to lift. In the meantime, Shiki continued to speed about the streets with Vali, exchanging blow after blow.
"RRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" the Satan Gravity Ether Gear user roared as he tried to strike his foe with a powerful punch to his chest with his right fist. A rush of wind erupted from the impact, but the White Dragon Emperor didn't budge. His foe grimaced. "You're using that damn dividing thing, aren't you?!" he guessed of his opponent, who huffed.
"I assumed someone as dense wouldn't have figured it out…" he admitted, "That said, how does knowing my technique even help you?" he wondered aloud.
"You're cheating, you bastard!" Shiki yelled back, "How's this supposed to be a fair fight?!" he questioned on angrily.
"It's my strength," Vali responded, "Don't blame me for having it," he advised, rearing his right fist, "Instead, blame yourself for being so weak…" he remarked disdainfully. Before the Satan Gravity Quirk user could retort, he was met with a powerful punch to his face from the White Dragon Emperor, sending him flying back along the street. He crashed through several abandoned cars, with a trail of dust being left in his wake. Glancing back upon overhearing, Rebecca's eyes shook with worry.
"Shiki…" she uttered out.

Back at Humarise's main base of operations, Ruby sped ahead in the form of a rose petal cluster. She morphed back to normal, shifting her weapon to its rifle form before firing off a few shots onto some of the cultists, knocking them down. That allowed for her colleagues to follow, with those aboard the ice wave of Shoto's creation knocking down several soldiers in their wake.
"Looks like the further we go, the more resistance we find…" Maki noted, swinging her arms to have her flying metal hunks slam into a few more Humarise members.
"I can't imagine there being too many more of them…" Blake mentioned. As if on cue, a wall panel suddenly popped out, with red lasers shooting towards the group aboard the ice wave. Everyone gasped in surprise as the beams sliced through the ice, causing them to plummet toward the floor.
"Deku!" Natalie cried out.
"Shoto!" Raya screamed. The two of them sped over and respectively caught their classmates, while Weiss managed to project a few glyphs to catch herself, along with Blake and Maki. They all landed safely upon the floor, though a few more panels popped out from the walls, aimed towards them.
"We don't have time for all this!" the white-haired huntress yelled, sliding her fingers across the blade of her Myrtenaster before thrusting it forward to project a large white glyph. Just as the lasers fired, they were deflected, blasting each other to pieces. Another panel popped up, but was promptly sliced by thin beams of fire expelled from Shoto's fingers, causing it to explode.
"Just go on ahead! Fast as you can!" he called out to his colleagues, standing alongside Weiss as many more Humarise members were charging towards them.
"We'll handle things here!" she assured with a swing of her blade. Everyone nodded, as Izuku activated his Full Cowling, turning around and speeding ahead. Raya, Natalie, Ruby, Blake and Maki went after him, leaving their colleagues behind. The Half-Cold, Half-Hot Quirk user coated his right arm in frost, while the ex-heiress beside him had the revolver of her weapon click into place.
"We'll stop you all at once!" the former of the two declared, swinging his left arm back. A flurry of bullets rained out towards him, but they were blocked off by the massive white glyph projected by Weiss.
"Do it!" she called out to Shoto. He ignited his left arm in flames, having them swirl about him.
"Flashfreeze… Heatwave!" he exclaimed, swinging his right arm up as a wave of ice shot out, going through the glyph as it increased in size, freezing the incoming cultists. What followed was a blast of fire shooting out into the chilling air, causing it to suddenly expand and explode. The Humarise members were all sent flying back, falling to the floor in unconscious heaps as smoke and steam filled the halls.
"Huh…" Weiss exhaled afterward, lowering her weapon, "Okay, let's keep moving," she insisted of her partner, getting his attention as puffs of steam expelled from the openings of his combat vest.
"Right," he agreed with a nod, turning around with her as they were about to run off. But just then, they heard growling from within the smoke, causing them to stop and glance back. They noticed a somewhat imposing figure lurking inside. Emerging and roaring was a hulking man with bleach white skin, black markings on his face and forearms, and a single row of brown spikes running down his spine. He had a relatively small head, with beady orange-yellow eyes and a wide set of teeth. On his fingers and toes were spiraling red appendages. There was also a set of 'tubes' with the same appearance stemming from his back and connecting to his head. He wore torn black plants with a brown belt.
Immediately, Shoto went ahead and unleashed a stream of fire onto him as he charged. But he wasn't even fazed, rearing his left fist back in an attempt to punch the Half-Cold, Half-Hot Quirk user. Thankfully, Weiss slid in and projected a black glyph to blow him back, followed by jumping into the next room with her colleague as he made a wave of ice for them to ride upon.
'My flames had no effect?!' he wondered inwardly, firing off another ice wave to seal the room off. However, it was quickly shattered through by the twisted red appendages of his foe, who entered and roared amidst all the damage he was creating. Weiss narrowed her eyes.
'He's raging out of control…' she noted through her thoughts, readying her Myrtenaster, 'Is he on Trigger?' she guessed to herself. Leviathan then made the red appendages at his fingers spiral like drills before extending them out at his foes. They shattered through Shoto's ice wave, forcing him to flip and create a new one to ride on, while Weiss propelled herself upward by using glyphs. She pirouetted around the appendages before landing down on the floor, charging toward the Humarise member.
"How about this?!" she exclaimed, swinging her Myrtenaster forward as an array of glyphs projected around her, unleashing several fireballs onto her target. However, the appendages at his head began to swirl before he extended them out to whip the fireballs, making them dissipate. "No way…!" the ex-heiress gasped. Before she knew it, her weapon was suddenly knocked out of her right hand by the beastly villain, who charged in and grabbed her in his right arm.
"Miss Schnee!" Shoto screamed upon noticing. All of a sudden, the ice wave he was riding upon was broken off by his foe's drill-like appendages, causing him to start falling. He didn't even have a moment to react as Leviathan had leapt up to grab him with his left hand, slamming both him and Weiss through the floor as it collapsed.
Pieces of rock fell down onto a small bridge over a river, splashing down into the river. The Half-Cold, Half-Hot Quirk user somehow managed to hang onto the ledge in the wake of all that had happened. However, he immediately widened his eyes upon not seeing Weiss anywhere nearby.
"Shoto!" her voice called out, getting his attention as he looked down at the river below to see her floating down it with her hair undone from its braided ponytail, "Just hold on!" she instructed, "We'll think of—!" Before she could finish her remarks, she suddenly submerged into the water, as if she was pulled in.
"MISS SCHNEE!" the Half-Cold, Half-Hot Quirk user screamed out. He then saw a torrent of water erupt from the river, engulfing him in its entirety before bringing him down. After he splashed in, he found himself caught up in the flow of the water, along with Weiss. It turned out to be Leviathan's doing, as he was swing his red appendages around to entrap his foes in the current.
'He's somehow rotating his Quirk to control the flow of the water…!' Shoto realized, trying to claw his way free. Weiss was struggling to move at all. Their foe roared, prepared to drown them both.

"You bony bastard!" Issei roared from back in the United States, taking a lunging stance as he glared out at Zenon, "Let Xenovia go, or you're gonna regret it!" he commanded, dashing forward in an instant.
"Hm," the devil-possessed man huffed, having a book float up and open in front of him, "You seem to at least be stronger than your friend here…" he noted aloud.
'Wait… isn't that a Grimoire?!' the Red Dragon Emperor inquired through his thoughts as his eyes widened.
"Bone Magic…" Zenon uttered as several spear-like bones shot out from his body, "Eternal Fangs," he said, having them extend toward his incoming foe. He quickly flew around to evade as many as he could, but found that his draconic wings wound up punctured, while the rest nicked his armor.
"Issei!" Fumikage cried out. Rage was starting to bubble up inside of him as the form of Dark Shadow started to build up massively around his body. "YOU…" he growled out, causing the Sacred Gear wielder to take notice of his angered friend.
'Oh shit…!' he cursed in realization, grimacing underneath his armor, 'And at a crappy time to boot!' he mentioned to himself, noticing how dark out it was. The shadowy entity emerged in the form of a massive beast, who roared as it zoomed towards Zenon.
"Interesting…" he uttered, narrowing his eyes slightly. His spear-like bones shot out and pierced through Dark Shadow, but it was hardly affected as it continued its charge.
"FUMIKAGE, YOU GOTTA STOP IT!" Issei screamed out desperately, "IT'S GONNA GET XENOVIA!" he yelled. Unfortunately, it seemed as if the Dark Shadow Quirk user wouldn't be able to calm his entity in time, as it was about to crash down onto his foe and the girl he was starting to like. All of a sudden though, a bolt of yellow lightning struck the ground, creating a bright flash that made the shadowy entity shrink long enough for Fumikage to retract it back into his body. At the same time, a dark red wave of energy washed over the bones that had ensnared the Red Dragon Emperor, breaking them off of him as he fell down and landed upon the street.
"Issei, Fumikage!" his girlfriend's voice called out, getting his attention as he glanced back to see her flying in alongside Akeno, "Are you two alright?!" she inquired, coming down to land next to her armored boyfriend.
"Better now…" he remarked in reply.
"Thank you…" Fumikage said out of gratitude. In the meantime, Akeno had yellow electricity spark around her body before raising her right hand up into the air. A red magic circle formed above her, unleashing a powerful bolt of lightning. Zenon slightly widened his eyes, evading it as most of the bones protruding from his body were eviscerated. Xenovia was freed, allowing for her fellow member of Rias' peerage to catch her in her arms and fly her back over.
"How is she, Akeno?" Issei immediately asked. They could see that the knight of the peerage was trembling with immense pain in the half-Fallen Angel's arms.
"She needs healing as soon as possible," she pointed out, "I'll get her to Asia as quickly as I can," she promised, flying off.
"Thank you, Akeno!" Rias called out in gratitude, "We'll hold down the fort while you're gone!" she affirmed.
"Yeah!" her boyfriend agreed, taking a ready stance. They watched as Zenon narrowed his eyes onto them.
"You're a stronger devil than any of the ones I've seen thus far…" he noted to the Ruined Princess, who perked up in surprise, "It doesn't matter though," he mentioned, taking on a serious expression, "I'll eliminate any devil that exists outside my world," he declared.
"Fat chance, boner boy!" Issei shouted back, while his girlfriend narrowed her eyes onto their foe.
'This man has a grimoire like Asta's… but with a spade symbol on the cover…' she noted inwardly, 'On top of that, I'm sensing such an… evil presence from him…' she added through her thoughts, 'That must mean he's devil-possessed…' she concluded to herself. She then glanced back to Fumikage, seeing him tremble with frustration. It was clear that being unable to help without succumbing to his rage was hurting him.
"Fumikage…" Rias uttered worriedly.
"Hey man," Issei chimed in, getting their attentions, "don't feel bad about getting mad when you did," he insisted of the Dark Shadow Quirk user.
"Issei…" he uttered with shaking eyes.
"Just bottle it up and don't let it out until the time's right!" the Red Dragon Emperor insisted, shooting him a thumbs up.
"Phrasing…" he grumbled out in response.
"Oh, Issei…" Rias sighed with a smile. In the meantime, Zenon narrowed his eyes.
'I'm not able to access the full extent of my power, nor even his magic…' he noted inwardly, 'That said, I'm sure the fifty percent that I can access is more than enough…' he affirmed through his thoughts. He suddenly sprouted a pair of slightly curved horns from the top of his head and bat-like wings from his back, and the marking on his face expanded. A dark-colored magic covered over half of his body, including the left horn and wing.
"What the heck?!" Issei yelped out. He, Rias and Fumikage took ready stances, prepared to continue the battle.

Back in Humarise's main base, Raya kicked aside another cultist who had sharp fingernails, slamming him against a wall to knock him out. Resistance for the remainder of the group had been lessened after Shoto and Weiss had stayed behind. Izuku couldn't but glance back worriedly.
"It's okay, Izuku," Blake assured, getting his attention, "Yang and Weiss won't let those two get killed," she affirmed confidently.
"R-Right," the One For All inheritor stuttered in response.
"We must be getting closer to the main console," Maki noted as they continued down the hall, "But that also means we're gonna be getting closer to some heavier resistance…" she mentioned with narrowed eyes.
"Just focus on the end goal!" Ruby called out upon overhearing her, "We'll worry about whatever we'll have to face when it shows up!" she confirmed. As if on cue, a pool of a black, tar-like substance spread across the floor in front of her, enticing her to screech to a halt.
"Ruby?" Blake said, stopping as well alongside the others. They watched in surprise to see a figure emerge from the pool, being a Beowolf. It roared in Ruby's face, though she didn't even flinch. Her eyes shined silver before releasing a flash of bright light, causing her colleagues to brace themselves from its brightness. When it subsided, they looked to see that the Grimm had been turned to stone, which the Team RWBY leader immediately shattered apart with a shot from her Crescent Rose.
"Whoa…" Natalie uttered in amazement.
'So that was the power of Miss Rose's Silver Eyes…' Izuku inwardly noted, 'Thanks to it, we won't have to worry about any Grimm…' he added through his thoughts. The pool in front of the group bubbled as Ruby stared at it with disdain.
"Might as well come on out, Salem!" she yelled out. Those of her group blinked in surprise. And then they heard clapping from beyond the pool. Stepping forward as it dissipated was none other than the Master of Grimm, who had a few shadowy monstrosities walking amongst her as she approached.
"It's quite something to hear a challenge from you, Ruby Rose…" she pointed out, "I remember that you ran and hid back when Atlas fell, while your friends were the ones to ultimately stop me," she recalled vividly as she rubbed a Beringel's chin. The Team RWBY leader gripped her Crescent Rose tightly.
"I guess I really shouldn't be shocked that you're still around after all this time…" she admitted, taking a ready stance, "But I know just how to beat you!" she declared, launching herself out at Salem.
"Ruby!" Blake exclaimed.
"Hm," Salem huffed with a grin, "Unfortunately, I'm not interested in fighting you today," she said as her opponent approached. She slashed at the Master of Grimm… and watched her fade away into a reddish mist.
"She disappeared?!" Izuku yelped out. Raya felt her pony ears perk up before she found Salem's right hand over her nose and mouth, silencing her.
"I think I'll play with this one instead," she decided, "You can have fun with my beautiful Grimm," she told the silver-eyed warrior, jumping back with the Equestrian Magic user in her grasp.
"Raya!" Natalie cried out, seeing her get slammed against the floor.
"Dammit…!" Blake cursed, about to draw her Gambol Shroud.
"No, keep going!" Ruby yelled to her surprise, "I'll help her out!" she promised, "You four go disarm the bombs together!" she insisted firmly while slashing down a few Sabyrs that attempted to pounce on her.
"But—!"
"GO!" Raya screamed to interrupt Izuku, flying up in an instant out of Salem's grasp as she flapped her wings, "There isn't much time left!" she pointed out desperately. Grimacing in realization, the One For All inheritor turned, having green sparks of bio-electricity crackle around him again before he leapt over the Grimm pool, continuing onward.
"Raya, you better not get yourself killed!" Natalie insisted, blasting after her boyfriend as Blake and Maki followed.
"Same to you, Ruby!" the cat Faunus called out to her team leader, who flashed her a thumbs up in response.
"SSMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSHHHHHHHHH!" Izuku bellowed, leaping up and performing a roundhouse kick that released a pressurized blast of air onto several Humarise members in the tunnels ahead, knocking them all out. He sped onward, with his colleagues in hot pursuit of him. Meanwhile, Salem chuckled as she looked up at Raya.
"You don't think you can handle me all by yourself, can you?" she inquired of her, causing her to grit her teeth angrily. She looked over to Ruby, who already seemed to have her hands full with Grimm popping up from the tar-like pool to attack her.
'Taking her on together's definitely the best move!' the Equestrian Magic user affirmed inwardly, rocketing out toward the silver-eyed huntress in an instant.
"Oh, how quick…" Salem noted as she turned around, "Unfortunately…" she continued, holding her right hand out as the gem upon her forehead glowed an ominous red, "it's not enough for you," she said. All of a sudden, several red glyphs appeared along the walls leading to Ruby. Raya gasped as she saw shadowy appendages emerge from them, reaching out in an attempt to grasp her. She weaved around as many as she could, but was ultimately snatched by one, which slammed her against the wall as she yelped in agony.
"Raya!" the Team RWBY leader cried out, about to lunge out to help her. However, an Ursa popped up right in front of her, about to slash at her. She jumped back, unleashing another bright flash of light from her eyes. Most of the surrounding Grimm were turned to stone as a result, crumbling away. "Huh… huh…" Ruby breathed out tiredly before seeing a couple of Centinels pop up from the pool.
"Hm," Salem scoffed with a grin, forming a vortex of wind at her feet to lift herself up to Raya, who was turned around to face her foe, "You should know that as powerful as the Silver Eyes are, they do have their limits…" she told the Equestrian Magic user, "If they were to be overused, she could blind herself…" she mentioned, causing her opponent to gasp, "Now wouldn't that be something?" she wondered aloud rhetorically. Gritting her teeth, Raya pulled herself free of the shadowy appendages. She dashed around to pick up momentum, veering back around as she readied her right foot.
"Rainbow Lightning!" she exclaimed, about to strike the Master of Grimm. However, she easily shifted herself aside to evade her attack, much to her shock. She quickly veered back around and attempted to land another kick, this time striking her target directly in the stomach. She grinned for a moment, only to see that her foe seemed completely unfazed.
"Is that all you have to offer, Raya?" she wondered, having a black ball of energy form over the palm of her right hand as she lifted it up, "Then again, I suppose your father didn't offer much either…" she remarked disdainfully. Before the Equestrian Magic user could retort, she was suddenly blasted down onto the floor by a beam of light shot from her opponent.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!" she shrieked in agony as her visor shattered apart. All the while, Salem cackled maniacally.

Back in Singapore, Asta and Shura stared at each other for what seemed like a while as the wind breezed by. Everyone else in the immediate area could feel the thick tension in the air. And then, the devil-possessed magic knight launched up in an instant.
"Dweller!" he yelled, causing his Demon-Dweller to fly out from his grimoire and into his right hand's grasp.
"Another damn sword, huh?" the Satan Gravity Ether Gear user noted with a chuckle, aiming his right hand out toward him as his markings glowed a bright green, "All that weight's gonna bring you down totally hard!" he proclaimed.
"Black Slash!" Asta yelled, swinging his Demon-Dweller Sword to unleash crescent-shaped blades of black energy towards his foe. He smirked, but then gasped in surprise to see them still coming. He quickly moved aside, letting them fly off into the air.
'What the hell?!' he exclaimed inwardly, clenching his teeth together, 'Why didn't they fall?!' he inquired through his thoughts as his foe pursued him, 'Why isn't he falling?!' he wondered on out of anger, 'No, it's not him…' he realized.
"You think you're hot shit, you damn brat?!" he yelled out, aiming his hand toward the skyscrapers nearby. The windows shattered as pieces of glass were gravitationally flung over. Widening his eyes in surprise, Asta was quick to weave around them, though he was nicked by a few pieces.
"Hey… that guy's power…" Setsuna started to say, looking over to the others, "isn't it like that Granbell guy's?" she inquired of them.
"It's exactly like his…" Momo answered with a grimace.
"We don't need to worry about him right now," Noelle assured, "Asta should be able handle things here," she affirmed.
"Right," Sunset agreed, "In the meantime…" she continued, turning to face the hordes of Humarise members and Grimm coming toward them, "Red, get the bomb as high in the air as you can like before!" she instructed to the Singapore hero, "Rumi'll get it in the air for you!" she assured.
"Hey, you trying to take me outta the fight?!" the Rabbit Quirk user inquired angrily of the veteran Equestrian Magic user.
"We need someone strong enough to protect Red in case any of these guys get through!" she responded to her surprise, "Majestic, focus on taking down the Quirkless Humarise guys!" she insisted of the Magic Hero, who nodded, "The rest of us will do what we can to beat the Grimm and the Humarise guys with Quirks!" she declared, having her wings flare up with energy, "We'll let Asta deal with the guy in the sky," she decided, "Everyone with me?!" she called out to her colleagues.
"Yes!" everyone except for Rumi responded, as she scoffed.
"You owe me for all this, Shimmer!" she shouted as she hopped away with Big Red Dot. Sunset just smirked. She then thrusted her fists forward, unleashing golden beams of light from them that struck incoming Grimm, causing them to burst into ashes. Meanwhile, Enma had rings of light appear underneath Humarise members that were holding weapons, lifting them up into the air in yelps. That allowed for Mackenzie to leap up and strike a few with some powerful kicks to their heads, knocking them out.
"Water Creation Magic…" Noelle began to chant as her watery lance swirled rapidly, "Sea Dragon's Roar!" she exclaimed, unleashing a massive torrent in the shape of the mythical beast, having it tear through and kill several Grimm in an instant. Momo created several flash grenades from her arms, pulling their pins before flinging them out at other Humarise members. They burst upon hitting the ground in front of them, resulting in a bright flash of light that wound up blinding them. That allowed for Christina, who was sneaking through the shadows, to leap in front of them.
"Shadow Dragon Roar," she said, unleashing a massive torrent of shadows from her mouth that struck the cultists, sending them flying back. Elsewhere, Setsuna detached her body parts from each other before using them to take hold of one Humarise member's arm, causing him to drop his rifle before she pinned him down to the ground.
"Heh!" she laughed with a toothy grin. However, she noticed a shadow come over her as she glanced to the side to see an Ursa about to slash her. "Oh crap!" she yelped. Thankfully, Mackenzie came in and landed a right hook to the Grimm's head, knocking it promptly down onto the ground.
"You good?" she inquired of the Lizard Tail Splitter Quirk user, who literally brought herself back together as she stared at her colleague in awe, blushing a little.
"Y-Yeah…" she stuttered in reply, causing her to crack a grin.
"Ice-Make: Floor!" Alice exclaimed, slamming her right palm against the ground. A layer of ice coated the grass in front of her and her allies, causing the cultists and the Grimm to slip. That allowed for Sunset to blast them away with beams of amber light from her fists as she flew up. Meanwhile, Rumi clenched her teeth together as she dug her feet underneath the Trigger Bomb, kicking it up high into the air.
"It's all you now, Red!" she called out to the Singapore hero, "I'll back you up!" she promised.
"Thank you, Mirko!" he responded. Inhaling a deep breath, he then unleashed a powerful gush of water from his mouth, striking the device and sending it higher up into the sky. Elsewhere, Shura was scoffing in frustration as he was flying away from a pursuing Asta.
"Black Slash!" he yelled again, swinging his Demon-Dweller Sword to unleash another trio of crescent-shaped, black energy blades towards the Satan Gravity Ether Gear user. He quickly flew aside to evade them as they whisked by, gritting his teeth angrily.
'Whatever that black energy is around him, my gravity can't affect it!' he noted through his thoughts, 'Not to mention…' he continued inwardly, seeing how the Anti-Magic user was keeping pace with his foe, 'it's like this guy knows about fighting someone with my kinda powers!' he pointed out to himself, narrowly avoiding a slash from his foe's blade.
"You can run all you like…" Asta said, causing him to perk up in surprise, "but I know a guy that's got the same power as you," he noted, "so I won't lose!" he declared, about to land a powerful slash with his Demon-Slayer Sword. However, Shura smirked as he leaned back to evade the attack, followed by grabbing his opponent by his left arm.
"Same as me, huh?" he repeated curiously, causing the magic knight to look up and see the sneer on his face, "Hate to tell ya…" he continued as his grin became wicked, "BUT THERE'S NO ONE LIKE ME!" he bellowed, landing a powerful head-butt that sent his enemy flying back until he crashed into the windows of a skyscraper, letting out a loud gasp. From afar, Noelle overheard, looking back in concern.
'Asta…' she uttered inwardly.

"We can't let them past this point!" one Humarise member yelled, firing his rifle aimlessly at the incoming figures of Izuku, Blake, Natalie, and Maki. Together, the four of them were quick to take down the cultists blocking their path, leaving only one to stand ahead of them. She trembled in fear, dropping her rifle. However, she steeled herself, reaching into her cloak and pulling out a syringe with a green substance inside. The cat Faunus took notice.
"FOR HUMANITY'S SALVATION!" the cultist exclaimed loudly, about to inject herself. However, the syringe was pulled out from her grasp by Blake's Gambol Shroud, which acted as a sickle as she yanked it over. That allowed for the hybrid Fire Dragon Slayer to close in and land an enflamed punch to the Humarise member's stomach, promptly knocking her out onto the ground.
"Okay, that's the end of those guys," Izuku confirmed. Maki walked over and looked at the syringe in the cat Faunus' possession.
"Is that supposed to be the same drug that's inside the Trigger Bombs?" she inquired, getting her attention as she inspected it closely.
"Yeah, but this is a more concentrated version…" she answered, "Let's keep moving," she advised, putting the syringe onto her belt, making sure it was firmly attached.
"Right," Izuku said, "The console's not that much further…" he pointed out. All of a sudden, his girlfriend heard electricity crackling toward them. Blake did as well, with her cat ears perking up.
"Watch out!" Natalie screamed, tackling her boyfriend aside to avoid the blue electricity flying their way like wild lightning. The cat Faunus grabbed Maki and jumped away with her in the nick of time, avoiding the electricity as it crackled about momentarily. When it subsided, the group heard someone humming a tune that echoed through the tunnel.
"That voice…!" Izuku gasped as he and his girlfriend quickly got onto their feet. Skipping out in front of them was none other than Haumea, who gave off a toothy grin as she giggled.
"Ooh, looks like we got some pesky Fire Soldiers running amok!" she noted upon spotting Natalie and Maki, "There's some cat lady I could care less about…" she mentioned as she looked toward Blake, "and finally…" she continued as she turned to the One For All inheritor, gnashing her teeth together, "you…" she snarled to his surprise, "Aside from that plasma brat, you're the only one who's ever given me so much of a headache…" she admitted angrily as she clenched her fists, having electricity crackle around her, "So I can't wait to fry you to a crisp!" she declared. In that instant, the hybrid Fire Dragon Slayer shot out at her, landing a punch to her stomach.
"You'll have to get through me first, you crazy bitch!" she yelled in proclamation. However, she suddenly felt a tingle in her arm before she was zapped by her foe. "AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" she screamed in agony.
"NATALIE!" her boyfriend cried out, seeing her stumble back a few steps as she winced.
"You're an idiot, aren't you?" Haumea guessed with a giggle, "Unless you have that plasma user, none of you stand a chance against me…" she affirmed confidently as she sneered.
"Then how about this?!" Maki yelled, having one of her metal hunks veer out and shoot down toward the Adolla Burst wielder.
"Oh, that stupid thing…" she remembered, "Hm," she huffed, having her electricity shoot out and zap it. Powering down, the metal hunk fell to the ground in a huge flurry of dust, enveloping a good portion of the tunnel. "Whoa, that thing sure would've packed a punch, huh?!" Haumea assumed, giggling excitedly. However, she perked up as she noticed Izuku and Blake leaping over her through the dust cloud. "Hey, where the hell do you think you're going?!" she yelled in question, about to fire electricity onto them. However, she was struck in the back by a flaming kick from Natalie, which promptly resulted in her getting zapped again as she yelped.
"Natalie!" her boyfriend cried out as he looked back in concern.
"Don't you dare stop, Deku!" she insisted firmly, "I'm gonna burn this crazy bitch to a crisp!" she declared, charging out at Haumea again. She giggled.
"You're funny…" she remarked, swinging her right arm out to unleash another flurry of electricity to zap her foe, "AS IF SOMEONE LIKE YOU COULD DO ANYTHING TO ME!" she bellowed. The hybrid Fire Dragon Slayer slid back to a stop, breathing heavily.
"Natalie…!" Maki exclaimed.
"Stay back for this, Maki…" her comrade insisted to her surprise, letting off a toothy grin, "I'm just getting fired up…!" she declared, igniting her fists in flames. Back at the base's entrance, Katsuki and Yang were continuing to struggle against Ena and Dio. The Explosion Quirk user was bleeding from the head as his right eye was shut, firing off blast after blast onto his foes.
Unfortunately, the twins were easily cutting through the blasts, grinning wickedly all the while. Yang tried to engage Dio in close combat, but he leapt away, evading her shots in the process. She and Katsuki jumped leapt back, crouching beside each other as their foes stood between them.
'The crap?' the Explosion Quirk user uttered inwardly as blood dripped onto the ground, 'How'd they cut through my explosion?' he wondered with a grimace.
'This is bad…' Yang realized, glancing back and forth at their twin foes, 'They already know that they can't cut me yet 'cause of my Aura, so they're going after the kid first,' she noted to herself, 'and making sure I don't get in the way…' she added through her thoughts. Ena sadistically licked his teeth, sneering at his opponents. Katsuki noticed, gritting his own teeth and glaring at him.
"You must not realize you're facing the best!" he roared in declaration, taking a hold of one of the flashbangs upon his belt before blasting himself up into the air with an explosion from his left hand.
"Katsuki, wait!" Yang yelled, watching as he attempted to attack Ena, only for him to leap away. The Explosion Quirk user blasted himself after him, but he was swiftly evading each of his attacks, swinging around the mountainside. However, his foe was closing in on him.
'Point-blank range—!' Before Katsuki could even aim his hands, Dio's blades extended in from below, piercing right through his torso.
"KATSUKI, NO!" Yang screamed, seeing the bellow sword-like blades get pulled out from him as blood spurted out from his new wounds, while the twins cackled.
"Too bad…" Dio remarked with a wicked grin, being upon the ground with his whip-like blades still at the ready.
"HEY!" Yang yelled, getting his attention as he saw her blast herself towards him, "Don't forget, you're not just fighting him!" she pointed out, about to land a powerful left hook. However, her foe leapt away from her, which Katsuki took notice of.
"All that jumping around's annoying!" he yelled angrily, firing off a rapid string of blasts down onto Dio. He managed to cut through them, becoming enveloped in smoke. The Explosion Quirk user managed to get behind him, ready to unleash another powerful blast, but would've wound up with a blade through his skull if Yang hadn't slid in from the side to take it for him to her left shoulder, allowing him to jump away.
She gritted her teeth, looking over to see a cackling Ena above her. All of sudden, he bound her by her wrists before swinging her around and slamming her hard against a column, causing her yellow Aura to flicker. Katsuki took notice, growling with anger. He blasted himself after the villain above him, firing off as many blasts as he could to try and hit him.
With both the rain and his foes' slithery movements hindering him, he had to think of some way to catch them both by surprise. Yang got back onto her feet and saw that he was blasting himself around a column in pursuit of Ena. At that moment, she blinked in realization, shooting herself upward after him. He continued firing until Dio's blades suddenly swooped in from behind and sliced through his back in curved patterns.
"AAAAAAAHHHHH!" he screamed in agony as blood spurted out.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" the twins laughed, landing down and reforming their arms back to normal with a few blades sticking out of them. Katsuki scoffed in frustration, but then noticed Yang leaping back from the column, shooting him a nod. That made him let off a smirk.
"Stop your laughing…!" he growled out to the twin villains below, pulling the pin of his left bracer, "IT'S GETTING ON MY NERVES!" he roared as he unleashed a powerful blast onto the top part of the column they were near. Flashbangs of his that were upon it burst, along with sticky grenades from the blonde-haired huntress that also exploded, causing the entrance to start collapsing. Ena and Dio actually panicked, quickly drawing their whip-like blades to slash apart the falling debris. But it seemed to be all for naught as it piled over them completely. A huge blast erupted, veiling the entrance in smoke momentarily. "Huh… huh…" the Explosion Quirk user breathed out heavily as he was crouched on his right knee, still dripping blood from his many wounds that he had been dealt. Jumping down to his side was his partner.
"Nice going, Explosion Boy," Yang complimented, giving Katsuki a bump on the shoulder with her left fist.
"Shut up…" he grumbled out tiredly, standing back up, "Idiots never saw that coming, huh?" he noted with a smirk, "I planted a few grenades while we were fighting…" he recalled as he looked at the rubble created from the combined blast.
"Good call," the huntress beside him said, putting her hands onto her hips.
'He'd probably be dead if not for that…' she added inwardly, 'In fact, I don't know if even I could handle them solo…' she mentioned through her thoughts, 'That said, we're still not out of the woods yet…' she noted to herself, knowing that the real battle was still inside the base. But what she and Katsuki had yet to realize was that the twins hadn't been defeated. In fact, they both were injecting themselves with Trigger by using syringes. In just a moment, their bellow sword-like blades shot out from the rubble. Both the blonde-haired huntress and the Explosion Quirk user gasped in disbelief.
They watched as Ena and Dio leapt out. Both of their backs started to swell before four more blades each extended out from them, ripping through their robes. They had become more vicious and snake-like. Markings appeared on their faces, their hair flared up to become spiky, their mouths stretched to their ears, and their teeth grew sharp.
"AAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAA!" they cackled out.
'So now they're drugged?!' Yang inquired inwardly, knowing just how rough of an ordeal it was for her and Katsuki to fight them earlier. She looked over to the Explosion Quirk user.
"Huh… huh…" he breathed out raggedly as his blood dripped onto the wet ground, creating a small puddle. It was clear that he wasn't in the best condition to keep fighting. But even so, there was a fire of determination in his eye. "Hell… if you wanna get crazy, I'm right there with you!" he roared, blasting himself out at his foes.
X
'Hurry! Faster!' Izuku pleaded to himself as he and Blake hurried down the tunnel. Already, most of their allies had been left to deal with various villains around the base. He could only hope that any of their efforts to help get them to the main console wouldn't be in vain. More bullets were fired toward him and the cat Faunus from other Humarise members wielding assault rifles.
"Get out of our way!" the One For All inheritor yelled, hopping along the wall to evade the bullets before coming down with a fierce axe kick, resulting in a flurry of dirt and dust from the impact. Blake sped in and slashed the rifles out their hands with her Gambol Shroud, followed by pulling its trigger to leave behind a fire shadow clone that exploded beside them. After a few moments, she and the freckled teen kicked down the doors leading into the foyer, entering slowly.
'This is the deepest room in the base…' Blake concluded inwardly as she looked around carefully, walking forward with Izuku, 'Which means…' she continued through her thoughts, remembering what she and the others had already uncovered from the SD card about the base's layout.
'The Trigger Bomb control system should be on the other side of those doors,' the One For All inheritor told himself, looking at the doorway underneath the flanked stairs. He and Blake nodded to each other, about to head towards them. All of a sudden though, a panel opened up on a nearby pillar, releasing a red laser beam at the two. They both jumped back as it struck the floor, with the cat Faunus quickly firing a bullet from her Gambol Shroud to blow it apart.
'Lasers, huh?' she noted to herself. She then spotted a figure up on the second level, standing underneath the Humarise insignia upon the wall. It was none other than Flect.
"How dare you?" he said to the pair below him, "This is not a place for ones so deceived should step foot…" he stated firmly, walking forward. Izuku looked and grimaced.
'He must be their leader!' he realized inwardly, 'Flect Turn!' he exclaimed through his thoughts as the luminescent man loomed before him and Blake.
"You have entered a holy stronghold that will bring about the salvation of humanity," he declared to his foes. All of a sudden, sturdy iron panels rose up, covering the bookshelves as the two Omni Force members took notice.
'Looks like he's setting things up for us to fight…' the cat Faunus realized, drawing her cleaver from her back and holding it in her left hand tightly.
"You think this is what the world needs?" Izuku inquired as he took on a ready stance, watching as Flect walked down the steps, "The Quirk Doomsday Theory hasn't been scientifically proven!" he pointed out, "You're basing your crimes on nothing but a rumor!" he mentioned emphatically, "How can you accept something so uncertain and use it to justify doing such terrible things?!" he questioned on, remembering all the people that had died in the wake of the first attack. Flect finally arrived at the bottom of the stairs, stepping out in front of his two enemies.
"Pure humans are being threatened by the sickness of Quirks…" he proclaimed in response, "Of that there is no doubt," he affirmed, "As time passes, these powers will mix, evolve, and run rampant," he listed off in warning, "driving humanity to destruction…" he stated.
"You don't know that for certain!" Izuku roared out as a retort, "Whether you have a Quirk or not doesn't matter!" he noted aloud, recalling all the people he had met in his life who either did or didn't have an ability, "We're all alive!" he yelled with clenched fists, "We're all human beings!" he declared on.
"Using violence as a means to justify your cause won't make it any better!" Blake pointed out, "We can end this peacefully, or you'll be forced to surrender!" she vowed.
"…The gravely afflicted are beyond our help, it seems," Flect realized as he narrowed his eyes, "even in other worlds…" he added, "I suppose I shall have to force you both to atone…" he decided.
"We'll stop your Trigger Bombs if it's the last thing we do!" Izuku declared, letting the green bio-electricity crackle around him before he lunged forward at his foe, who didn't even move, "SSSMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" he roared, landing a fierce roundhouse kick to his the Humarise leader's head with his right leg. Or so he thought. His cloak was ripped away, revealing his garments underneath. He wore a red robe, a golden belt, and two glove-like prosthesis accompanied with finger tips. His pants were also grey and he wore combat boots. His clothes had small disks around them in which a bio-luminescent energy was contained.
'What?!' Blake exclaimed, seeing how Flect had barely flinched at all. In fact, appearing just behind him was a swirling dark energy mass. Izuku noticed, finding that his foot was just inches from making contact with his foe's face. All of a sudden, the energy mass beyond him reverted, followed by the One For All inheritor taking a powerful force onto himself. The muscles in his leg tore up and bled.
"WAAAH, AAGGGHH!" he screamed before he was sent flying back, crashing into one of the iron panels that had been erected in a flurry of dust.
"IZUKU!" Blake screamed, whipping around to glare at Flect, "What the hell did you just do?!" she inquired angrily. He merely narrowed his eyes onto her. With a hiss of rage, the cat Faunus dashed out toward him. She leapt up and swung her katana straight down onto his head. The swirling black mass of energy reappeared behind him again as the blade hadn't made contact with him, being held back by the electrical sparks coming from it.
'Is he absorbing my attack?!' she wondered inwardly as she grimaced, 'No, that's not it…!' she realized. Before she knew it, she suddenly felt a slashing force strike her down her stomach, sending her flying back. She managed to regain her footing as she brought her katana down onto the floor, piercing through it and bringing herself to a stop as she breathed heavily.
"Izuku, are you okay?!" she called out. The dust was slowly starting to settle, revealing the One For All inheritor on his left knee, still recoiling from what had just happened.
'Did he… counter my attack…?' he wondered inwardly, 'No…' he realized, 'this shock and force…' he continued through his thoughts, getting onto his feet shakily, 'It felt like I was hit with a Smash!' he concluded.
"That's right," Flect said, narrowing his eyes as the mechanisms below them glowed, "I was born with this cursed plague myself," he confirmed, having the small disks at his feet come off and position themselves around them, allowing him to float up from the floor, "A disease that can't be cured," he continued, while the spinal frame-like device upon his back protruded four sets of segmented mechanical arms with spiked mirrors on the ends, with one at his knees, one at his waist, one above his shoulder, and finally one at his head, "I automatically reflect all I come in contact with," he told his foes.
'I knew it…' Izuku uttered inwardly, taking on a ready stance, 'His Quirk makes any attack against him bounce back,' he noted to himself, 'It's the kind of power that's always activated…' he added through his thoughts, looking at the energy coursing through the mirror-like apparatuses upon the Humarise leader's person. Gritting his teeth, he reactivated his Full Cowling.
"So even though you have an ability of your own," he began to Flect, glancing from side to side before taking off and readying his right arm, "you still think they're somehow evil?!" he assumed, flicking his fingers to unleash pressurized bursts of air onto his foe. Again, he wasn't even phased as the swirling mass of energy appeared on the opposite side of his body, reflecting the air blasts back at his foe. They struck, slamming him against the barricaded bookshelves again. He actually broke through it, causing some books to fall over onto the floor.
'Long-distance attacks don't work either?!' he questioned inwardly, wincing in pain as he lied against the bookshelf. Blake charged in, firing off a few shots from her Gambol Shroud at Flect. They were reflected back at her, but she had a shadow clone take her place as she slid to the side, getting closer.
'We shouldn't try fighting him if he can just reflect anything we throw his way!' she told herself, firing off more shots that were reflected back, only for her to dodge by propelling herself up into the air with another shadow clone, 'I'll keep him distracted long enough for Izuku to get to the control system, and then—!' Before she could finish her thought, a pair of red laser beams shot from the turrets upon a pillar at the end of the room struck her squarely in the abdomen, making her violet Aura flicker as she was flung back. She crashed into another barricaded bookshelf in a flurry of dust.
"Miss Belladonna!" the One For All inheritor screamed upon seeing what happened.
"Hmph," Flect huffed, "You would question me…?" he inquired of Izuku, getting his attention as he glared over at him, "Quirks are a tragedy…" he stated as he looked at his gloved right hand, "Because of this ailment, I was never once held by my parents, never knew a caring touch," he told his foes, recalling his past, "Then my closest friends and those I gave my heart to left me," he pointed out, "Their feelings repelled," he added, "I watched them all leave me one by one…" he finished grimly.
"I can't believe that…" Blake said as she shakily emerged from the bookshelf she crashed into, standing firmly on her feet while a few books fell down beside her, "Quirks don't fully manifest until you're around a certain age, right?!" she inquired to her opponent, getting his attention, "Shouldn't you have had at least a normal life before all that?!" she questioned on. Hearing that, the Humarise leader lowered his gaze momentarily.
"Perhaps… for a time…" he admitted in a hushed tone.
FLASHBACK
"Huh?" a young Hansha uttered as he blinked a couple times. Everything around him was starting to blur. "I… can't see anything…" he noted aloud.
When my Quirk first manifested, I reflected everything, including light itself. That meant I was unable to see anything. It was like I was blind.
"From what we can tell, it's an emitter-type," a doctor told the boy's parents, "The ability to reflect anything he comes in contact with…" he said, "Are there things in particular that aren't reflected?" he inquired curiously.
"His clothes seem to be fine for the most part," the mother responded, "We've had him wear gloves and such when eating or trying to grab anything," she mentioned, "We're still not sure what to do about his eyes," she pointed out, "I understand that there could be a potential prosthesis he could have… with surgery of course," she recalled.
"Yes, but that's very experimental," the doctor pointed out, "I'm not saying you shouldn't, but if something were to go wrong—"
"I want my son to be able to see the rest of the world with his own eyes!" the mother exclaimed emphatically, interjecting the doctor, "I won't settle for anything less than that," she affirmed on.
My mother was a kindhearted soul. She wanted me to live as normally as possible, even if I had this power brought onto me. As for my father… he was far less understanding.
"This doesn't add up," he said suddenly one day, getting his wife's attention in the kitchen, "I've looked into both our family trees, and none of their Quirks even remotely resemble anything like Hansha's," he pointed out.
"Wh-What are you saying?" the mother stuttered in question, only for her husband to glare angrily at her.
"Did you sleep with another man?" he inquired, causing her to gasp.
"Mother? Father?" their son's voice uttered out, getting their attentions as they looked to see him walk over, having to use a cane to guide himself.
As it turned out, I was the child of another man. My father left my mother, and overcome with guilt for her actions, she left me. I didn't understand why… I was still so young… Why would they abandon me? I thought… that my power was cursed…
One day, Hansha opened his eyes and could see everything around him. He lied in a hospital bed, looking at his luminescent hands. He never thought he'd be able to have his sense of sight back.
"Good morning," a voice greeted, getting his attention as he looked over to see a middle-aged, brunette-haired man wearing a lab coat and glasses seated beside him, "Can you see me?" he inquired curiously with a smile.
"You're… Doctor Langston…" Hansha uttered out.
"Yep," the doctor responded as he stood up, "Specialty Neurosurgeon, Doctor Trevor Langston," he introduced, stuffing his hands into the pockets of his coat, "So, you can see me?" he assumed.
"Y-Yes!" the luminescent boy responded as he smiled, "I can see everything!" he exclaimed, looking around the room. However, he stopped once he saw his reflection in the mirror. He could finally see his luminescent self. "Is that… me?" he inquired, pointing at the mirror.
"Yeah," Trevor replied as he approached his patient's bed, "The surgery was a success," he declared, "Your eyes won't be reflecting light with those special prostheses I've inserted," he affirmed to Hansha.
"…Thank you very much, Doctor…" he said with gratitude after a moment.
I was certain at that time, there was an instant where I wanted to rip my own eyes out. The sight of myself for the first time since my ability manifested, and I couldn't help but wonder if it really was a curse that drove me away from my parents. I was still thankful to Doctor Langston. He returned my sight at least. However…
"You know how amazing your Quirk is?" Trevor inquired one day.
"Huh?" Hansha uttered.
"You could become a great hero someday!" the doctor excitedly pointed out, "With a Quirk like yours, no villain would ever think to touch you!" he added.
"But… I don't want to be a hero…" the luminescent boy said to his surprise, "I only want to live a normal life in spite of this Quirk…" he confessed. Trevor looked almost… disappointed.
"Well, I hope you still think about it," he advised.
Whenever I did see the doctor to discuss my Quirk, he would always bring up heroes. It wasn't as if I hated heroes, I just didn't aspire to be one. I didn't think my power would be all that useful for a hero to even have.
Years passed. Hansha went through school, earning top marks and even entering a prestigious university. By the end of his last term, he had come to a point where he could be social with others. Physical contact was still out of the question, but that didn't matter. He didn't really have many friends. He just wanted to focus on his studying while also looking to further his career. And while in the library one day, he discovered a certain book that drew his curiosity.
"Quirk Doomsday Theory…" he read, opening the book up. Almost immediately, he was hooked. The hypothesis presented to him made his mind race with questions. There was potential that his power, like many others, would spell doom if they kept mixing and evolving. He wondered if he was already at that state, taking off his glove to look at his luminescent hand.
"Hey, Han!" a voice greeted as a hand was about to come down onto his shoulder from behind. Reflexively, the luminescent man sidestepped, avoiding the extremity in the nick of time as it came from a blonde, short-haired man.
"Huh…" Hansha exhaled in relief, "Don't do that, Yu!" he insisted firmly in a hushed tone, "You remember the first time you made contact with me, remember?" he questioned, causing his friend to laugh as he sheepishly rubbed the back of his head.
"Aw, come on, Han!" he said, "I'm just feelin' great that we're about to finally graduate, you know?" he pointed out, "I'm sure you do, too," he mentioned, causing the luminescent man to perk up.
"I… suppose I am…" he admitted, putting his glove back before picking up the book he had.
"So whatcha' readin'?" his friend asked curiously, peering over his shoulder, "Quirk Doomsday Theory?" he read, "Wasn't that written by some weirdo wackjob?" he inquired on.
"It doesn't say who the author really is, but it's an interesting read," Hansha pointed out in reply, opening it to the page he was on, "The idea that powers mix, evolve, and grow out of one's control is a plausible theory," he noted, brushing his fingers over the page as he narrowed his eyes.
"Hm… I don't buy it…" his friend admitted with a shrug of his shoulders, "I mean, where's there an example?" he questioned.
"Me," the luminescent man responded to his surprise as he looked out at him worriedly.
"Uh, hey…" he said, getting Hansha's attention, "There's gonna be a bit of a get-together after graduation at the bar," he told him, "You should come and hang out with us," he insisted. His luminescent friend blinked in surprise at the offer.
"I'll… think about it…" he promised as he turned his head away to focus on reading.
"Great!" the blonde-haired man responded with two thumbs up, "See you later, Han!" he called out, jogging off.
"Hm," Hansha huffed.
Yuta was a good friend. He didn't care that I looked different or was hindered by my ability. He was first real friend. But my disease killed him as well…
The night after graduation, a lot of the graduates had gone off to the local bar in celebration. Hansha did show up, though he refused to drink as he instead wanted to focus on reading the Quirk Doomsday Theory, sitting in the corner. He tuned out everything around him, becoming more and more invested in the details behind the hypothesis. It essentially spoke to him about his own life and how he suffered. But even so, he knew it was still just an unproven theory. Depending upon the masses, it was likely that it would still remain scientifically rejected.
"Hey… let go…!" a familiar voice grunted out, getting his attention as he saw Yuta get shoved down onto the floor by the bar counter by a burly man.
"I saw you makin' eyes at my girl, you damn pretty boy…" he muttered out to the blonde-haired man.
"Well, I'm a little tipsy…" he pointed out in response, "I might've not checked her out otherwise…" he joked with a chuckle.
"You think you're funny, you bastard?!" the burly man roared, striking him atop the head with his fists knocking him down to the floor in a grunt.
"Yu!" Hansha cried out, shooting up onto his feet.
"Huh?" the burly man uttered, taking notice of the luminescent man, "You his friend or somethin'?" he guessed, tossing a chair aside as he started to stomp over. Hansha grimaced, taking hold of his book.
"Han… no…" Yuta uttered upon seeing what was happening, rising up to his feet.
"You're both finished!" the burly man declared, charging towards the luminescent man.
"No, stay back!" he pleaded, shutting his eyes and bracing himself.
I reflected all that I came into contact with. Gloves helped for a time, but my curse made it so that no one could actually touch me. In that moment, I thought that this brute would merely get flung back, and that would be the end of it… I didn't anticipate Yuta to be so selfless…
When Hansha peeked his eyes open, he gasped to see Yuta come out in front of him. The burly man slammed against him, sending him flying toward the luminescent man. And he had no way to stop him.
The second Yuta came into contact with Hansha, he was reflected instantaneously towards the bar counter. There was a loud squelch. The luminescent man's eyes shook in shock as he saw the blood pouring out from his friend's head onto the floor.
"Y…Yu…?" he stammered out. A woman screamed in horror.
"He…He's dead!" one man stuttered in disbelief.
"What was that…?" another asked, "Is it a Quirk?" he wondered aloud. All of the panic focused on Hansha, who trembled in fear at the sight of his deceased friend.
'My Quirk… my power… it… it just…' he tried to tell himself. He was tuning out everything around him, even the people who were trying to help calm him down. Everyone in the bar could see that the accident wasn't his fault. But the fact that it happened at all is what really stuck with him.
He ran. He left the bar, having tears fly out from his eyes as he hurried around the corner into an alleyway. He tripped over a trash bag, falling onto the ground in a yelp as he dropped his book. As he pushed himself up, he looked to see his reflection in the puddle. And he snarled.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" he screamed out, filled with rage and repentance.
Since that day, I wanted nothing more than to be rid of this cursed plague, even by death if that were an option. Suppressing it wouldn't be enough. I had to make sure it was gone.
"You want me to remove your Quirk?" Trevor inquired of Hansha one day during a check-up.
"If possible, yes…" the luminescent man responded, looking as if he hadn't slept for days, "You heard what happened recently, didn't you?" he questioned back.
"Hansha, that was only an accident…" the doctor pointed out, holding his hands up in a placating manner.
"An accident that this curse caused!" Hansha yelled out, "This Quirk has brought me nothing but suffering!" he exclaimed as tears built up in his eyes, "My family… my friends…" he listed off, "They've all been repelled because of this blight…" he said, whimpering as he lowered his head. Trevor frowned disappointedly.
"This wouldn't be happening if you chose the hero path like I told you to," he noted as he stood up, causing his patient to widen his eyes, "I'd like you to leave now," he requested to the luminescent man's surprise, "You're of no use to anyone…" he proclaimed coldly. Hansha never felt more secluded in that moment. Trevor was his last hope for salvation… but that tie was severed. And then, he remembered his book. He balled his hands into fists.
"You're wrong, Doctor," he said, standing up from his seat and approaching the man who once helped him, "I can be of use to people," he proclaimed.
"Hansha, I—" Trevor turned around to find himself punched squarely in the stomach before he could finish his sentence, causing him to slam into the wall from the blow's force. "Agh…" he groaned out, clutching his abdomen while wincing in pain.
"Hm," the luminescent man huffed, "It seems as if any attack I deal is twice as effective thanks to this curse," he noted, looking at his fist, "And yet, I still despise it…" he snarled, approaching the doctor.
"Hansha… stop it…" Trevor pleaded weakly, "I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm trying to force you on this path…" he apologized, "I just think it's the right one for you…" he pointed out.
"…Perhaps I can be a hero…" Hansha admitted, "but only to those who are powerless…" he corrected firmly, "I'll see to it that what is foretold shall not come to pass…" he declared, picking the doctor up by his coat, "I shall rid humanity of these cursed powers!" he vowed. Trevor reached over to grab a scalpel on the table, making a last-ditch effort to stop the luminescent man by slicing his face. But the action reflected, breaking his glasses as blood spilled onto the ground. Hansha dropped him, staring with disdain. "And so the last of my ties has been severed…" he concluded, taking a deep breath as a few tears fell from his eyes.
END FLASHBACK
Flect opened his eyes, narrowing them onto his two foes. They were what Trevor wanted him to be. But he could never see himself in that light. And it angered him that these heroes, people who were sworn to protect others, were trying to make him question his choices.
"Since I reflect everything, I couldn't even choose death for myself," he pointed out to them, "A Quirk that cannot be controlled like mine leads to a life of suffering!" he declared, closing his right hand into a fist before making the prostheses underneath his eyes shine again, "But I can save others from this misery!" he declared as the air started swirling around him, "These meta powers will trample no more hearts!" he proclaimed on, launching himself forward by using the power induced in his mirrors.
'He's fast!' Blake inwardly exclaimed, crossing her blades defensively. He struck them with his right fist, causing the air to swell. Instantaneously, the cat Faunus found herself blown back, crashing into the wall right above the doorway as her violet Aura flickered again.
"MISS BELLADONNA!" Izuku screamed out, seeing her fall onto the floor upon her stomach.
"Along with this world, I shall rid others of cursed meta powers," Flect declared, getting his attention, "No world shall suffer from this infectious blight…" he vowed with outstretched arms. Gritting his teeth angrily, the freckled teen lunged out at him.
'I won't use One For All… until the moment of impact!' he decided inwardly, readying his left fist. He thrusted it forward, only to see the dark mass of reflective energy appear behind the Humarise leader again, as his attack failed to make contact. And then, the energy reflected back. 'Even then… it's not working!' he realized before ending up taking a powerful punch to his stomach, sending him flying before he tumbled back along the floor, crashing into the barricade.
"Izuku…" Blake weakly uttered, bringing herself up onto her feet slowly. She could see the dust settle as the One For All inheritor fell onto his stomach, grimacing in pain.
'The clock is ticking…' he noted to himself while wincing. He knew that if his battle with Flect continued, he wouldn't be able to disarm the Trigger Bombs. 'I'll try to avoid him completely,' he told himself, reactivating his Full Cowling, 'Right!' he yelled inwardly as he shot up onto his feet and ran, 'Rely on speed and get to the controls!' he shouted through his thoughts, hurrying along the side of the room toward the doors.
'We'll worry about fighting him after we've disarmed the bombs!' Blake decided as she ran in the same direction from the opposite side.
"I reject the corruption within my veins…" Flect said, having his prostheses glow again. All of a sudden, a couple of the panels upon the columns in the room opened, with laser beams shooting out toward Izuku and Blake. They narrowly managed to evade them as they streaked along the floor in pursuit. "I will eradicate this global contamination before it's too late!" the Humarise leader declared as more laser beams were fired from the protruding turrets, "By doing so, I will save the worthy!" he proclaimed, having his mirrors fly off up into the air from his skeletal support item, "The pure humans will rise to power once again!" he bellowed. All the lasers were fired. Though this time, the mirrors reflected them in different directions. Dodging them all was proving to be too difficult for the One For All inheritor and the cat Faunus. And eventually…
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH…!" Izuku screamed as the beams pierced through his right shoulder and left leg.
"IZUKU!" Blake shrieked, followed by taking beams to her stomach and right arm, making her violet Aura flicker even more. As the lasers subsided, both of them fell to the floor in heaps. Blood spilled from the freckled teen as he lied upon the broken floor.
"You wretched souls…" Flect remarked disdainfully, letting the mirrors fly back into position on his support item. The cat Faunus gritted her teeth, desperately trying to push herself back up onto her feet. She watched as the Humarise leader raised his left hand, causing several holographic screens of various locations around the world to appear, showing live footage of what was taking place. "In mere minutes, the baptism will begin," he declared as a timer with five-and-a-half minutes was counting down, "The blood of heroes will cleanse this broken world," he stated as he grinned, "And their deaths will bring about the glorious new reality," he added firmly.
"No… it won't…" Blake muttered out, getting his attention as he saw her shakily stand up, holding both her katana and her cleaver in her hands as she breathed heavily. He narrowed his eyes onto her.
"You have no ties to this world," he noted, "Why fight me?" he inquired of her. She merely clenched her teeth together. "Heroes will die, along with you…" the Humarise leader proclaimed.
"We won't let you…" Izuku said, causing him to glance over and see the One For All inheritor getting onto his feet as he stumbled a little, "Talk all you want…" he growled out, taking a ready stance as he clenched his fists and had green electricity spark all around him, "We will stop the Trigger Bombs!" he declared fiercely.
"No…" Flect retorted, making his prosthesis at his eyes shine again, "You will be sacrificed like your friends…" he declared as his mirrors floated out once more. Blake grimaced.
"Izuku, watch out!" she yelled. Unfortunately, it was no use. More lasers were fired and reflected, striking both her and the freckled teen.
'Uraraka… Asui…Shiki… Rebecca… Weisz… Homura…' he listed off inwardly, seeing his friends in France battling on while trying to get their bomb away.
"AAAAAHHH!" he screamed again as the lasers pierced through him.
'Kaminari… Sero… Mineta… Kotatsu… Ogun…' he continued through his thoughts as he witnessed the Egypt team fighting as well.
"AAAAAAGGGGHHH!" he exclaimed, with more lasers cutting through him.
'Kirishima… Shoji… Jiro… Rachael… Shinra… Laura…' he kept going, watching the Japan team locate the bombs while also fending off any villains. More lasers pierced his skin. At this point, any resilience seemed futile. He fell to the floor, all bloodied over.
"Izuku!" Blake cried out. At that moment, five laser beams struck her in various locations of her body. Though she wasn't wounded, her violet Aura finally did shatter, flickering away like ashes as she gasped. She fell onto her back, wincing in pain. Meanwhile, the weakened One For All inheritor looked back up at the screens.
'Yaoyorozu… Alice… Asta… Noelle… Tokoyami… Issei… Rias…' he listed off through his thoughts again, seeing the teams in Singapore and the United States battling on.
"Ergh…" he grunted, trying to bring himself up onto his feet, even as blood poured from his various wounds.
"Izuku…" Blake winced out, struggling to even sit up.
'The heroes are fighting so desperately…' Izuku noted to himself, while outside, Katsuki and Yang were continuing to endure brutal slashes from Ena and Dio, with blood flying everywhere, 'to stop these weapons from going off…' he continued, while Shoto and Weiss were still submerged in the water under Leviathan's control, unable to free themselves even as they tried to freeze it over, only for their foe to entrap them again as they couldn't catch a breath, 'to protect everyone's smiles…' he kept going, while Ruby clutched her head in agony before unleashing a burst of light from her Silver Eyes onto some of the Grimm coming towards her, petrifying them into stone. In the meantime, Raya was being pulled down onto the ground by several shadowy appendages that emerged from a black pool, restraining her completely as Salem grinned. 'Think…!' Izuku pleaded to himself as his girlfriend was enduring electrical shock after shock from a cackling Haumea, while all Maki could do was watch, 'How can we beat this guy…?!' he wondered, staring up at the screens.
His vision was starting to get hazy. Blake rose to her feet, coughing for a moment before taking a tight grip on her blades. She looked to see how battered the freckled teen was. Blood dripped out of his wounds with every step he took. He looked as if he had almost no strength left. And then, he fell forward.
"Izuku!" the cat Faunus screamed, about to lunge out to catch him… until someone else did. An arm had come around the One For All inheritor's torso, stopping him from falling onto the floor. He looked up to see who was there… and widened his eyes.
"…Rody…?" he uttered out in shock.
END
And ending it all with a big cliffhanger! I know, I'm totally terrible… Anyways, as of the time I've written this, you guys have likely seen the schedule changes for the rest of the year. "Reality" is the next story that'll be started after this one, and "Power" has been delayed for next year.
Next chapter should provide a lot of great action for this story. I've got not much else to really say, especially since we're getting really close to the end here. Hope you're all excited!
