A/N 1: First time writing in Kenren's pov... so be nice.

"Why did you have to fall on me of all the places? You stupid monkey?"

He knew that it was bad to laugh at another person's misery but it was really amusing to see how much the role of a 'father' suited the guy so much. Certainly, it wasn't something that he imagined the guy to be doing. Especially when it was Konzen, the most boring deity in Upper Heaven! (Oh wait, then what should that means with regards to Tentei? Ah whatever, who cares about that.)

"But that's your fault, Konzen!"

"Yeah, it's all your fault!"

"Why is that?"

"If you consider all of the weight on Goku's shackles, it would at least be a hundred kilos. Of course, the branch broke."

It's a very unlikely scene for the four of them to enjoy. A higher deity, a tiny heretical monkey and two Heavenly soldiers; sitting together under the eternal cherry blossom tree, drinking and laughing together. It was certainly something you don't see every day. Since it was not what you usually see amongst the people in Heaven. Because it was improper... and unbecoming of the citizens of the Upper World.

Yet, he had to admit that he really enjoyed these circumstances. Breaking the taboos... enjoying himself, with a few of his favourite people.

"Ah!"

Kenren turned his attention towards Konzen as Konzen's voice caught his attention.

"Kid's finally asleep," said the man again. Konzen turned his head towards both Kenren and Tenpou apologetically. "Sorry, gotta cut the outing short. It's bedtime for the monkey."

Tenpou just waved off the concern. "It's not a problem. Go on, I'll stay put here for a bit longer..."

Kenren grabbed another can of beer before waving it at the man. "Same here. I don't feel like getting a shuteye just yet."

"Okay..." said Konzen before lifting the sleeping Goku and deftly slinging the boy over his back. The movement was so quick that it caught Kenren by surprise.

"What?" Konzen turned around as he stared at Kenren's face. "Something wrong?"

Kenren hastily shook his head as Tenpou started giggling softly.

"N-nothing... I just err... accidentally bit my cheek."

Konzen rolled his eyes at that answer before turning around to return to his palace.

Once he was sure that Konzen was out of their earshot, Kenren poked Tenpou with his elbow.

"Did you see that?"

"Hmm? See what?"

"That guy just lifted Goku so easily as if the boy had weighed nothing. Even with all those weighted shackles the boy was wearing!"

Tenpou just shrugged at him. "Well, he is a higher-level deity compared to us. Plus, he's the nephew of the esteemed Kanzeon Bosatsu, and you know how strong she could be."

Kenren just shook his head. "Seriously, how looks can deceive. I mean the other day I tried to lift the boy by myself and I couldn't even lift that boy an inch! Yet Konzen could do it so easily without batting an eye!"

Tenpou laughed. "That's the power of fatherhood, or was it because you're too weak, my dear captain?"

Kenren rolled his eyes back at the man. "If you're trying to subtly tell me that I need to work out some more, you don't have to remind me, Mr Marshal, sir. I'd do that even without you nagging on me!"

Kenren sighed, as he filled up his cup with fresh sake and sipped on it. "But suppose... if someone was to teach Konzen how to fight properly, how strong could he become?"

Tenpou shot him a cynical look. "Why? Is there a reason why Konzen needs to learn how to fight?"

Kenren just shrugged. "Nah, I'm just curious."

Tenpou just shook his head before grabbing a new can of beer for himself.

"Heh. Though I advise you to not pull anything funny any time soon. I don't want to see you dragging my best friend into causing trouble with you."

As Tenpou finished his words, he flicked open the tab on his beer can, almost threateningly. Kenren immediately stiffened as he could already sense the menacing aura hidden behind his seemingly harmless adjutant.

He immediately raised his hands in defence. "Alright... alright, I get ya!" Kenren exclaimed right away.

"Gosh, I can't even joke around with you."
