Adriana bit her lip nervously and clenched her fists as she waited. Outside, the sunny weather wasn't helping her at all.

Sheesh, where's the dramatic billowing storm?

She shouldn't have thought that because as soon as she did, thunder struck, dimming the bright evening sky into a lethal shade of grey immediately.

After what seemed like forever, her father finally rushed into the car as well and started the engine.

"Can…can you explain, now?" Adriana shuddered.

Her father didn't answer as he sped up the car.

"DAD!" She cried, "WE'RE GOING TO REACH 100! ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL US?"

"Ana," he said, ignoring her question, "you remember the Greek mythologies mom and I taught you?"

"Yes but…"

"Remember a goddess called Hera?"

"Yeah but…"

"She's the goddess of ma…" the car took a sharp turn to the left, "of marriage, but 13 years ago, she fell in love with…"

CRASH.

The car got blown up and it did a 180-degree turn in midair before it crashed onto the ground.

Adriana frantically unbuckled her seatbelt, "DAD, are you all right?!"

No answer.

"No…no, no! It's not happening…NO!" She screamed as she pushed her way to the front seats where her father lay motionlessly with his chin tucked onto his chest.

Adriana violently began shaking his father's shoulders, and she felt that familiar electric tingle in her body once again, and she immediately pulled her hands away.

But too late.

The electric spark had once again shot out of her hand.

However, miracle, her father began to cough. Although he was coughing out blood, Adriana wrapped her arms around him right away.

"Dad…" she started to say, but her father beat her to it.

"Ana, see that hill over there?" He stiffly lifted his arms and pointed toward the hill on their right.

"Run, you…can seek," he coughed again, "help there."

"And leave you here, NO!" Adriana protested.

Her father gave her one last fatherly look before his eyes hardened.

"Adriana, remember you not listening to mother? She died, so if you don't want me to die, you will listen to me and you will run up the hill and not look back. YOU GOT IT?" He yelled.

Adriana was momentarily shocked. Her father had never ever used this tone on her before, even when she received her you-got-kicked-out email. Then her face twisted into a sneer.

"Fine," she spat, trying to mask her sadness. She kicked open the door of the car so hard, that it flew around 2 blocks away.

"But I'm dragging you with me, you like it or not," she seethed.

Her father shook his head once more, as he reached into his pocket and produced a silver chain with a sapphire pendant dangling from it. He put it firmly into Adriana's hand.

"Please, Ana, before it's too late, before…he comes…" her father begged.

"Before WHAT?"

Thunder shook again, and the car they were in threatened to tilt. Then Adriana began to hear hissing sounds.

"G…go," her father pleaded again, but this time, he didn't wake up again.

Both Adriana's parents were taken away on the same day, and right now, all she could see is red.

Steadily, she stepped out of her car, her left hand clenching the chain her father gave tightly, her brown eyes shining dangerously as she examined the master that was closing on her.

Of course, it was Joanne the Em…Empousa.

That tingle came again, and this time, she didn't try at all whatsoever to control it.

Her eyes fluttered open, and she gasped. Her eyes adjusted to the light, and she examined her surrounding. There was the sound of machines clicking. She was in an…infirmary? That's probably the most suitable answer as she found herself being buried in a bed.

Adriana tried to sit up, but a calm and authorized voice said, "I wouldn't be moving dear," as a face came into view, it was the face of a middle-aged man…probably since when Adriana looked into the man's eyes, they looked thousands of years old instead of 40.

"Where is my dad?" She asked calmly.

The man's eyes softened, "I'm sorry dear."

That was all she had to hear. She sat up abruptly, ignoring the excruciating pain in her body, only then did she realize, she was clutching the pendant her father gave to her all this time.

She wanted to cry, but she had no more tears.

"Who are you?" She asked, turning back to the middle-aged man, who apparently was sitting in a wheelchair.

He sighed, "I am Chiron dear, trainer of all heroes, Hercules, Perseus Achilles."

Adriana wasn't fazed at that, she believed whole-heartedly that monsters and gods. Ever since her mother's death, she began to feel not like herself anymore. Callous, cold, short-tempered, and easily agitated.

"Well, too bad I have to leave then, for I am defiantly not a hero," she said bitterly.

Chiron wheeled his wheelchair toward Adriana and put his hand on her forearm, but Adriana flinched away.

"What is your name dear?"

"Adriana Francis."

"Adriana, this place you are in, it is a training camp for all young demigods, meaning the children of a god and a mortal, and I…we are all here to help you control your powers."

Adriana shook her head, "Sorry sir, but I don't believe you get it, I ki…killed my parents."

Chiron shook his head, "Adriana, you will have to learn that not all deaths are because of you…and I'm very sorry for the deaths of your parents."

Then she remembered something, so with a quavering voice, asked, "Do…did you know S…Samantha Ernest and…and Eric Oloren?"

"Oh, they were excellent students, Sam was the daughter of Apollo, and Eric, the son of Athena…but, they're your parents?"

Adriana nodded, and Chiron scowled but didn't say anything.

"But I'm ad…"

Just then, the door of the infirmary opened, and in stepped a boy with tousled ginger hair and silver eyes.

He was tall, at least taller than Adriana's 5'3 frame, he was 5'5, at least, and he looked around the same age as her.

"Ah," said Chiron with a smile, "great timing Austin, would you mind showing Adriana here around camp?"

Adriana had to restrain herself from rolling her eyes at that, "good timing?" Seriously?

Austin smiled as he extended his hands for Adriana to shake. Though she took it, she didn't smile back.

"Austin Grey," he said, "son of Athena."

Adriana tried to mask her giddiness, his dude is her uncle…or adoptive uncle, whatever you call it.

"Adriana Francis," she offered.

The boy nodded, and Adriana gave a quick look at Chiron, wondering if he would ask her why her last name was "Francis" instead of "Oloren," but he didn't.

"Come on, let's go!" He said excitedly, his silver eyes sparkling.

Adriana bit her lips before she reluctantly nodded her head and followed Austin outside.

Two years had passed since Adriana arrived at camp. Zeus, the lord of the skies had claimed her on her first campfire. It was quite a shock to everybody. Everyone kept murmuring about a prophecy. All except for Chiron, who instead of looking shocked, seemed suspicious.

So she had been living in Zeus' cabin since, but whenever she stepped inside the cabin, instead of feeling at home, she felt the cabin repelling against her instead.

Her personality had turned 180 degrees. All she did every day, was training with her sword, Elastikótita. Meaning resilience. Everybody expected her to be extremely strong since she was claimed as the daughter of Zeus, but no. She was rather…clumsy. But that was cured after around a year of non-stopping training. But still.

The only person that tried to engage in a conversation with Adriana was Austin, which makes him her only friend.

Everything changed, in the 2nd year of her camping life.

Guess what. Luke and Annabeth are coming in the next chapter!
