Shiho came back to the Kudo Mansion earlier than she usually did, that day. Usually when she came home, Ran had already finished cooking dinner, and the two of them would start eating while waiting for Shinichi to arrive. But this time, the table was empty, yet the smells of food still came from the kitchen. When Shiho entered, Ran turned around and cried out in surprise, "Shiho! You're here already?"
Shiho nodded. "Yup. Do you want some help?"
Ran smiled gratefully. "Yes, please! Today I got back from the dojo later than I usually do, so I'm a bit behind."
"You know Shinichi won't be here for a while," Shiho pointed out, yet still, she helped Ran prepare dinner.
The three of them had been in a relationship for just over a year, at that point. Well, Shinichi and Ran had been in a relationship for longer, but Shiho had only joined around a year ago. Shiho had had feelings for Shinichi even before he and Ran had gotten together in Kyoto, and after she regained her original body, she had found herself slowly falling for the other girl as well. Apparently they had felt the same way about her, since one day they had taken her to an expensive restaurant and confessed, asking her to join their relationship. Of course, she had agreed, after some thought.
With Ran and Shiho working together, the food was finished quickly, and the two sat down to eat while waiting for Shinichi. He appeared half an hour later, apologizing for his lateness ("There was a really tough case today!") and the two women had laughed because this happened every night and at this point, what he considered late wasn't really late anymore.
As Shinichi sat down to eat, Shiho dragged the morning newspaper over towards her. "There's a Kid heist tomorrow," she pointed out. "In an aquarium."
Shinichi perked his head up. "Oh?"
"Maybe we could all go," Shiho suggested slowly. "As a sort of date, I suppose."
Ran smiled at that. "That sounds great."
Shinichi nodded in agreement as well, and Shiho felt a smile appear on her face. She loved her partners.
