The Hunger Games: Victors Retold

Inspired by The Victor’s Project by Oisin55 and Tales of the Hunger Games by Christian Blanco, The Hunger Games:Victors Retold tells the stories of all 75 victors of the Hunger Games, both canon and non-canon. Most chapters are around 500 words, which is perfect for any Hunger Games fans looking for a quick look into the archives of Panem.

1. Andronicus Page

I aim to get this finished, but it's a huge task and will probably take a very long time, so stick with me and let's see where this goes. Thank you.

Chapter 1: Andronicus

The first Hunger Games appeared to be some kind of extravagant prank to those in the districts. Yes, they had lost the war, and the Capitol seemed more than capable of a revenge stunt like this, but was it really fair to force 24 teens into a battle to the death every year?

Andronicus Page thought so. The rebels had destroyed his father's quarry and turned his family from among the richest in District 2, to virtually the poorest. The Hunger Games meant vengeance, and Andronicus Page was one hell of a vigilante.

12 kills. What kind of normal 16-year-old kills twelve other children? Most of them didn't even fight back, instead just standing there, frozen atop their podiums, quivering in fear. Andronicus showed no mercy to the district rebel scum, stabbing five of them within the first minute, including Becca Langford from District Five, who became the first to die in the Hunger Games.

After the bloodbath, which claimed seven lives, Andronicus struck up an alliance with Rubien Pryce from District 4, the pair of them prowling the Capitol Arena and hunting down a further 13 tributes. When the opening hour had passed and 20 children lay dead, Andronicus suddenly buried his blade into the back of Rubien's skull, the gory death becoming one of the most iconic moments in the history of the Hunger Games. He went on to win the games after killing the males from 10 and 6 with ease.

He was literally showered in riches as soon as his sword entered the chest of the District 6 male, Capitol citizens throwing money and jewellery down the stands towards him. The Page name was restored in District 2, Andronicus using his riches to rebuild his family's quarry which returned to its former successes within a decade. The first Victor also inspired many in his district, which went on to win a total of 12 times, coincidentally the same number of kills that he achieved in the arena.
