Thorpe Teseos' path to victory was definitely a unique one, something that would become common for the victors of District 3.

He made the choice to run into the bloodbath, his above-average speed and strength allowing him to reach a hammer before most of his opponents had reached the supplies. He bashed in the head of his district partner, who he had initially agreed to ally with, for making a passive-aggressive comment about him in her interview. Her blood soaked his jacket, both horrifying and entertaining viewers as he picked up two backpacks and ran into the mountainous depths of his arena.

After a few hours of hiking, Thorpe saw a sponsor parachute descending towards him, and took a break so that he could open it. Finding a bottle of cleaning fluid, he was initially confused about its purpose, wondering if it was some kind of joke from the Capitol because of the state of his clothing. However, after analysing their contents, a smirk appeared on his face as he realised its potential.

The boy from 3 spent the next few days trying to track down other tributes, but did not come within a kilometre of anyone else until he spotted the empty Career camp on Day 4. He set up traps around the area, ensuring they would not fire yet, and hid in a nearby bush to wait for their return. He stayed crouching in the shrub until nightfall, when his targets fell asleep, allowing Thorpe to put his plan into action. He crept up behind the boy from District 2, who was on watch, and smothered him with his jacket until he stopped moving. After this, he adapted his traps so they would now work properly, and returned to the camp. He rudely awakened the Careers, splashing cleaning fluid in their faces that sent them into a blind panic. As they ran away in a frenzy, Thorpe was able to kill the slowest of them with his hammer as the rest ran directly into his traps. He killed four of the six Careers that night, with the boy from 4 and the girl from 1 managing to escape, blinded but otherwise unharmed.

The next day, with just four tributes remaining, the Gamemakers announced that a flood of tar would begin to fill the arena, and tributes needed to reach the peak of the tallest mountain in two hours or drown. With the two remaining Careers still unable to see, and therefore unable to make it to safety, it was a showdown between Thorpe and the boy from District 6. The boys ran into each other approximately a quarter of the way up, attacking each other with fists, swords and hammers. When it became clear that the boy from 6 was much more skilled with his weapon, Thorpe tackled him off the edge of the mountain, plunging them both into the rising flood. Thorpe survived under the tar for longer and became this year's victor.

Thorpe became a legend of his district, starting a chain of underground "science clubs" for 12-18-year-olds. Coincidentally, 80% of his district's following victors were known to have attended, raising questions about the authenticity of these clubs.

Victor 15: Thorpe Teseos, age 18, from District 3. Five kills, as well as one other death caused.
