Peter sighed as he walked up the familiar street in Queens towards his home. The sudden Super Villian attack at the museum had canceled the field trip, his teacher instructed all the students to return home for the day due to the disastrous events of the morning. He had spotted Gwen briefly, although not spoken to her since he had rejoined his class. From what he saw of her, she had been ushered into her Father's squad car after his arrival on the scene. Her Father wanted her to be safe and out of the area meaning there was no chance to speak with her. He honestly didn't know what to say to her, even if he had the chance.

How was he supposed to explain to Gwen that he was Spider-Man, it was one thing with Aunt May knowing her she would have figured it out eventually and not say anything, but Gwen was different. Sure he trusted Gwen to keep the secret, even from her Father. Honestly, on his list of people to tell, Gwen was pretty high up there, along with Harry. Just the longer he waited, the harder it seemed to be. The moment he got powers he had wanted to tell her, just so that he could have her genius try and help him process everything he was going through. But at the time they hadn't talked in a while and he hadn't wanted to bother her when she was still settling into Visions Academy.

Without a doubt, there was going to be a lot to deal with when the time came that they could actually talk about it, it wasn't really an over-the-phone kind of conversation he suspected. He should probably contact her soon, by her voicemail she wasn't going to be patient on the matter. But... by the looks of it, he was going to have to face the reality of it sooner than he expected.

A squad car drove past him on the street and, surprise surprise, it pulled up right out in front of the humble Parker Residence. The moment the car came to a stop, Peter's heart sank. The first thought was that something was wrong, the last time a squad car had been out the front of his home was the night Uncle Ben died. Had something happened to Aunt May? But as he got closer he saw Gwen open the door of the car and step out with her backpack on before turning and speaking back to the driver, her Father. He should have known that she wasn't just going to let it slide this easily, she really hadn't changed at all.

"Please don't hit me." Peter mentally prayed as he let out a soft sigh while he walked up to Gwen. Gwen meanwhile looked up as she noticed him approaching and stood up directing a glare his way, from the other side of the car her Father opened the door and stepped out, Captain George Stacy, a middle-aged man with gray eyes as well as greying hair. He wore a white shirt with a gun vest, a light red tie, dark brown pants, and dark and light brown shoes. Peter had seen more of Gwen's Father lately than her, not that he knew he was the masked vigilante.

"Hiya Pete, glad to see you safe. Gwen said that you were at the museum too on a field trip." George smiled at the approaching teen. "Sorry about this, Gwen said she didn't want to go home after everything that happened, and the only compromise she'd take was for her to come here." He explained to Peter. Gwen had done this a few times in the past, especially after the divorce of her parents.

"It's not a problem Mr. Stacy." Peter told him as George turned to his daughter.

"Be home for dinner."

"Sure Dad." Gwen nodded as Captain Stacy got back into his car before driving off leaving the two teens standing on the sidewalk watching the squad car drive away, in a matter of seconds Gwen had slung off her backpack gripping the strap before she slammed it into Peter's side causing him to groan, he could have easily avoided it but it was better to just let Gwen let it all out, and in truth, it didn't hurt at all.

"You're Spider-Man!?" She all but shouted at Peter causing him to quickly look around, glad that it was midday on a weekday and nobody was around to overhear her like she had overheard him back at the museum, he'd never let himself live that one down but it was probably best she figures it out now than much, much later down the line. "And you didn't tell me!? How long!?" She stood with her hands on her hips glaring at him.

"Can we go inside first?" Peter asked. Gwen continued to hold her glare for a moment before nodding as Peter led them up to the front door, unlocking the door with his key he held it open for her as she walked past him. Peter was glad Aunt May would be at work right now. He'd already called his Aunt to let her know that everything was okay and she didn't need to worry about anything she might hear on the news and promised to explain when she got home.

Gwen stood in the small living room looking around with a fond smile on her face, she use to love coming here. Aunt May and Uncle Ben treated her like family, it was a second home after her parents' Divorce, spending a lot of time here while her parents had figured things out like custody and such. It hadn't been an easy time for Gwen, but Peter and his Aunt and Uncle had made it bearable for her.

"So." Gwen stated as she rounded on him. "Spill." Peter nodded as he gestured for her to follow him down into the cellar. Confused, but still she followed him down to where her eyes immediately landed on the glass tank currently sitting on Uncle Ben's old workbench, what she noticed was the dense spider-web that was formed inside.

"A couple of months ago, I found that in my parent's old belongings." Peter explained to her, pulling up one of the two stools by the workbench and sitting on it as Gwen walked towards the tank, peering into it and noting the small note that Peter had left on it that morning. "I figured it'd be empty so I tried to clean it out, you can probably guess what happened next."

"It bit you?" Gwen questioned astonished as Peter nodded.

"I was sick for over a week." Peter admitted. "Aunt May even wanted to take me to a hospital, I hadn't actually told them it was a spider bite, I had a really bad fever but no other symptoms." He explained to her. While he had been sick he knew that they wouldn't have the money for the hospital bills and did his best to remain quiet about it unless it got worse. "It was the same week I was supposed to apply for the scholastic contest to Visions."

"And because you were sick, you couldn't apply for it." Gwen frowned getting a nod from Peter, she had expected Peter to apply for the contest, but when she didn't see his name on the participant's list, she couldn't say she wasn't disappointed, at least now she knew as to why he didn't apply. With him not winning, the scholarship went to Miles.

"Then, after a week of a high fever, I woke up fine and uh, completely changed. I didn't need my glasses anymore and well... the rest you can probably figure out." He shrugged. "We hadn't really kept in contact since we moved on from Middle School, I was going to surprise you if I got the scholarship to Visions, and then with everything with Uncle Ben..." He frowned. "Sorry, Gwen."

"No, don't be." She sighed. "I probably overreacted but it was a lot to take in under the circumstance. Sorry I hit you... and thanks." She smiled over at him. "For saving me today." Peter gave an awkward smile as Gwen turned back to the spider in the tank. "Does anyone else know, Harry?" Peter shook his head.

"No, only Aunt May." Peter confessed. "She'd have figured it out anyway, and I needed to tell someone and I didn't want to lie to her about what I was doing." He continued as Gwen nodded in understanding as she turned back to the spider in its cage.

"Just how did it manage to give you, your abilities?" She questioned.

"I don't know." Peter admitted. "I tried to find my parent's research notes, but what I did find barely said anything about it. There was a little about Oscorp's cross interspecies genetics but other than that, nothing." He continued. "And I don't exactly have the resources to do any testing." He stated as he looked around the cellar, he really didn't have much to work with but he made do.

"While advanced, I don't even think that the labs at Visions would be enough to figure it out, they're not exactly equipped to handle bio-genetics." Gwen admitted as she took up a nearby stool and sat on it. "So, Spider-Man. Couldn't think up anything more cliche or did you take inspiration from others like the Justice League?" She questioned with a smirk.

"It was better than Bug-Boy." Peter told her as she laughed.

"And the costume?"

"I'm working with what I've got." He shrugged. "I had to pull apart old computers and junk just to manage to make my web shooters." He added.

"Web shooters?" Gwen questioned slightly surprised. "Wait, you don't produce the webs organically?" She asked as Peter shook his head, he moved from the stool he was seated on to where he had set his bag down at the cellar steps, and opening up he pulled up the bundle of clothes that was his costume and the two web-shooters he had built out of leftover parts. He walked over to the workbench and placed the clothes down before the web shooters.

Gwen immediately moved over, picking up one of the devices and examining it. He could honestly say that this was going much better than what he had expected to happen, and it was nice that he had someone to go over his work. Aunt May wasn't really interested and only wanted him to be safe, not wanting to pry into what made the Spider-Man, Spider-Man. But like him, Gwen was brainy, had a knack for science, wanted to know the unknown, and was definitely intrigued.

Honestly, it was just a weight off to actually talk to someone about everything that had happened. Aunt May listened but sometimes he didn't think she fully understood what he went on about so had opted to refrain from talking too much about his Spider-Man activities so as to not make her worry, leaving him to figure out so much on his own. But with Gwen, it was different, she asked questions, wanting to learn more. It's why he had wanted to tell her right at the beginning.

He watched as Gwen pulled the shooter over her wrist before taking aim at the brick wall, seeing the trigger in the center of her palm, she pressed down on it with her middle and ring finger shooting a strand of the web at the wall opposite the workbench. One would think she was just having fun, but Peter knew her better than most.

"This is really inefficient Peter." Gwen stated. "The triggers are clunky, the whole shooter itself is bulky and oversized, and does this part literally do nothing?" She questioned after examining the shooter closely as she shot him an accusing glare. One might say she was a perfectionist.

"It makes it even on the sides and is aesthetically pleasing." Peter shrugged. "And... and, it holds down some of the other parts." Gwen raised an eyebrow as he tried to defend his work. "As I said, I've been working with what I've got, and I really don't have a lot." He explained gesturing over to a small pile of pulled-apart computers, TVs, game consoles anything he had pulled from his trips into dumpsters. She removed the web shooters from her wrist as she examined the line of the web that she had shot at the wall, going to flick it with a finger before Peter stopped her.

"Do that and you'll be stuck to that wall for the next two hours." Peter told her as he himself grabbed the web-shooter, extending the webbing until he was able to reach it across to the workbench where he set it into a vice so that the web was taut. Gwen nodded as she examined the web, kneeling down next to it. "I initially thought I'd use silk, but in testing, it really wasn't a viable option. So I created this web using salicylic acid, toluene, methanol, carbon tetrachloride, potassium carbonate, and ethyl acetate." He listed off the ingredients he had used to make his web fluid. "But I think I need to rethink the formula, Giganta ripped through it so easily today." He sighed.

"Maybe not rethink the entire formula, but adjust it in the right amounts to increase its overall strength, different levels of the ingredients may affect the durability of the web and give it different types of elasticity and strenght." Gwen mused aloud as she examined the webbing. "You have the tendency to go with what works Peter, it's really a flaw you have." She smirked at him.

"Thanks." He muttered rolling his eyes.

"And did you just come up with that name for the giant lady?" She questioned.

"No... uh, not exactly." Peter awkwardly stated recalling that's what Batman had called her. He honestly didn't know if he should tell Gwen that he had met two members of the Justice League after everything that happened, or that they had offered for him to join a team of young heroes like himself. He'd keep quiet on that for now until he figured out what he was going to do about it, but once he decided, she'd be the first person he told.

"So, what's the exact formula that you used?" Gwen questioned as Peter smiled, she could always pick up on him when there was something he didn't really want to discuss, but that only meant that she knew he was holding back on telling her things.

Peter pulled out an old chemistry set that clearly had seen far too much use with how stained the glass was from the mixture of chemicals he had used, but it was all he had. He'd been making his web fluid in this since day one. He also showed her how he stored the web fluid in modified c02 canisters with added PSI to be able to shoot the web further.

From there, the two got to work. It was just like when they were kids, working on science projects or the like together, only now with much more knowledge and experience behind them. Gwen had truly earned her spot at Visions academy, for where he fell short on ideas, she was there to bounce back with her own and vice versa. The two passed ideas with one another for what seemed like hours, and in truth, it was far longer than either of the two expected to do so, losing track of time. Gwen had even drawn up some designs for new, more compact web shooters while Peter drew up designs for a new costume and possible materials he could use, something both of them knew he desperately needed.

Peter hadn't expected them to be doing this today, but it was fun, he had really missed hanging out with Gwen like this, while he still had Harry, Gwen was more on his level. Or at the very least, understood what he was saying half the time.

"You know." Gwen began almost hesitantly causing Peter to raise an eyebrow at her. "I... hmm." She tapped her chin with a pencil before turning to face Peter.

"What is it?"

"Visions Academy." She stated. "At the end of each term, all the unused and failed experiments that have piled up are put into an industrial furnace and destroyed." She explained. "If we could get our hands on some of that tech, we could probably give you a few upgrades, some new tech." Peter blinked in surprise. "You wouldn't believe some of the stuff that's there Pete, it's out of this world."

"I'm pretty sure they're not just going to let me take a bunch of unused tech Gwen, as nice as that would be." He sighed before Gwen grinned before she pulled out what looked to be a key card of some kind.

"Then it's good that I've got an all-access pass."

"No." Peter shook his head, shooting down the idea almost immediately. "I'm not stealing anything Gwen." He told her straight out causing Gwen to frown, she hadn't meant for it to sound like that. "I get that you want to help me out, but stealing tech isn't the way. If I do it once, it'll just be easier to do it the next time after. Plus, if they discover that tech's gone missing, they're going to trace it back to you." Gwen sighed but nodded.

"Yeah, I guess you're right, it would be so much easier if you were just a student at Visions." She added as she reached over, placing her hand on his knee. "At least let me help with your suit." She suggested. "We've got access to some really good materials you won't find anywhere else, I could have one built to your designs within a few days. What do you say?"

"Won't it be a little suspicious that you were the one designing Spider-Man's suit?" Peter questioned.

"One of Visions rules is complete confidentiality unless the materials requested are of a questionable nature which this shouldn't be." Gwen grinned. "I'll mark the project as secret, and once it's done I'll delete all the files and nobody will ever know." Peter smiled and nodded.

"I owe you one Gwen."

"Let it be my thanks for saving me today." Gwen smiled before a slight knock came from the steps, Gwen quickly pulled her hand from Peter's knee doing her best to not like she'd been doing something suspicious. The two turned to see Aunt May standing at the bottom step that led down into the cellar. She had a smile on her face as she saw the two sitting there it was so good to see them together again and from the looks of what they'd been doing, Gwen knew all about Peter being Spider-Man.

"Come on you two, come and eat." Aunt May stated and immediately Gwen shot her eyes down to her wrist where her watch sat and they shot open in shock. "Don't worry Gwen, I've already been in contact with your Father to let him know you'll be staying for dinner." She told the clearly panicked girl, they'd been so engrossed that they'd lost track of time.

"You're a lifesaver, Aunt May." Gwen grinned.

"We kinda lost track of time." Peter added as May smiled and she gestured for them to come upstairs as the two teens hung their heads, it had been well over six hours since they had come down into the cellar and they'd both been so engrossed in what they'd been doing they had barely noticed it. Both Peter and Gwen headed upstairs to find that May had already cooked and severed a meal, neither had even registered when she had come home.

Dinner at the Parker resident that night was a joyful occasion, May and Gwen spent the entire meal catching up, and Gwen explained to both May and Peter the few projects she had been working on at Visions since starting, while nothing had got off the ground she had some promising ideas, some even Peter was intrigued by.

"Peter." May began after their meal was finished. "Walk Gwen to the station, I'm sure George would like her home before it gets too late."

"Thank you for having me, Aunt May." Gwen smiled.

"Any time dear, I hope you stop by more often, we've both missed you around here." Gwen nodded with a large smile as she grabbed her backpack that now had some of Peter's suit designs inside. She wanted to get started on them straight away while the ideas were still fresh in her mind.

Soon enough Peter and Gwen were heading for the train station, the two walking in silence.

"I think Aunt May was really happy to see you." Peter smiled. "I haven't seen her that happy in a while."

"I'll make a point of coming by more often then." Gwen smiled bumping her arm into his. "I missed this." She added with a smile. Just spending time with Peter again like old times had shown her truly just how much she had missed him since she had started at Visions Academy, sure she thought about him but spending this time with him, she didn't want it to end.

"Yeah, I did too." Peter admitted as they came to the train station, what was strange was that Gwen wasn't heading for the platform that would usually take her home.

"Don't worry." Gwen told him seeing his confused look. "I'm going straight to Visions Academy, and I'll let my Dad know so he doesn't worry. I've already spent a few overnighters working so it's not that big of a deal." She admitted. "Can't have you swinging around the city looking like you do, the sooner I get your new suit finished the better."

"If you need anything Gwen, just call." Peter told her as the train pulled into the station.

"I will... Bug-Boy!" She laughed before rushing onto the train as he scowled at her, Gwen simply grinned from behind the window, and soon enough she was gone with the train, leaving Peter to walk back home alone. Reaching into his pocket he pulled out the card that Batman had given him with the address on it, from the looks of it the location was somewhere in Hell's Kitchen, he'd scope it out tomorrow when he finished school.

"I guess it can't hurt to find out what this team is all about, as long as I can still be New York's friendly neighborhood Spider-Man." He mused to himself. He could also use the experience and training that Black Canary had said would be available. Right now he was only capable of doing what he did because of his Spider-Sense and blind luck, what if he had to fight someone like Giganta on a daily basis? He didn't know how to properly deal with something like that, training would be beneficial, and it would be good to see what he was truly capable of.

He could use any help that he could get, and maybe if this team worked out and something big happened here in New York that he couldn't deal with himself, then he might have some friends to back him up, maybe even members of the Justice League. He was all alone out here after all. No other hero called the Big Apple their home, at least not that he was aware of. With Batman and Black Canary being here today, along with Wonder Woman's appearance at the museum, he had to wonder if the Justice League had worked here in New York before.

Peter knew that the Justice League worked all around the world, but he'd never really seen them around New York before, maybe it was before his time. He'd do some research to see if anything did go on in the past. But right now, with Gwen making his suit and his meeting with this new team looming in just a couple of days, he himself wanted to adjust the Web fluid formula to what Gwen had recommended while also seeing if he could reduce the size of his web shooters. He and Gwen had come up with tons of ideas, some he had thought would work, and others he hadn't even considered. He really did owe Gwen for the help.

Despite it all, it was him being Spider-Man that had brought them back together. He was glad for that, he really had missed her.

- Upper West Side, Manhattan -

- 2010 - July 8th -

-7:23am -

Peter sat in the park outside a large apartment complex on a park bench. Since he and Gwen had parted at the train station, he'd kept himself busy with his web fluid formula, following Gwen's adjustments to the formula, and managed to strengthen the webs to a much stronger degree. He'd need to put it into more practical use to find out by just how much they could physically take and he wasn't searching for another giant to fight anytime soon, but it worked.

He had also managed to reduce the size of his web shooters considerably, having used some old digital watches that were easy enough to come by, cheap too. Honestly, Gwen had been right, he had settled for his bulky web shooters since they worked and hadn't thought too much about improving on the design until now, she had kicked his butt into gear on that one. There was no doubt in his mind that in the future, he'd be making more improvements, hopefully with Gwen's help. He just needed better resources than what he had now and he wasn't about to ask Gwen to do everything for him, where was the fun in that?

Between his Web Fluid formula and Web Shooter designs, he barely had enough time for school, and the few times he actually had the time to try out his new specs in the practical sense, there had only been a few minor incidents on the streets which was surprising for New York, but they were enough to get him some experience with his new web shooters.

He'd been in contact with Gwen several times since she'd departed at the train station, mostly Gwen requesting information on sizing and what materials would work better, the two brainstorming over the phone about various ideas. He was looking forward to seeing what she had come up with, she'd been pretty secretive about the end design.

This is why he was currently sitting outside her apartment building so early in the morning. He had less than an hour before he was to head for the address that Batman had given him and he was getting nervous about the whole situation.

He had checked out the address in Hell's Kitchen, it was an old shipyard that seemed abandoned. From what little he could dig up on the property, he could only find that it was owned by Wayne Enterprise and hadn't been used since before he was born, had Wayne Enterprise intended to use it for something but never had? Strange that Batman wanted to meet there of all places, no doubt since it was abandoned nobody would be poking around.

"Pete." The teen glanced up and was slightly stunned at the disheveled appearance of Gwen as she walked over to him. Wearing sweatpants and a zip-up hoodie, by the looks of it, she was getting ready for bed despite the early morning. In one hand she had a brown paper bag and in the other a cup of coffee for herself.

"Looking good Gwen." Peter smiled happily.

"Shut up." Gwen huffed as she held out the paper bag to him. "I just pulled three all-nighters working on this, so you better be grateful." Peter's eyes widened in surprise, if he knew she was doing something like that he would have told her to take a break... who was he kidding, Gwen did what she wanted when she wanted she wouldn't have listened to him regardless. Peter took the bag as Gwen sat on the bench next to him, holding the coffee in both hands taking in the warmth of it as she raised it up, inhaling the strong aroma of the blend.

Peter opened the bag and was stunned at the suit inside, this wasn't just something put together like his homemade costume, this was designed perfectly, even better than what he had imagined Gwen would come up with, not that he had doubted her, Gwen was a genius with the right resources. Reaching in he grabbed the mask, surprised at how lightweight it felt.

"I took your advice, and added some changes of my own." Gwen explained as Peter glanced around, not seeing anybody he pulled the mask from the bag and looked it over. The mask was red in color with a black web pattern design and would cover his entire head protecting his identity, it had two large plastic eye lenses with a chrome coating. From what he saw he could easily see out of them and make it so others couldn't see in, they certainly were far cry from the makeshift goggles that he had attached to a ski mask.

"What did you use as the final material?" Peter asked, rubbing his hand over the fabric of the mask. "Silk?"

"I did consider the latex and the spandex ideas we thought up." Gwen began sipping her coffee. "But, who knows what kind of trouble you're going to run into out there. With your scene with Giganta the other day, I figured you might need something a little more durable." She smiled. "By combining a carbon fiber weave with a silk thread that has a graphene core, it allows for a more durable build without giving up any mobility or flexibility."

"Gwen, that's incredible." Peter was stunned, to think Gwen had made this in just a few days when it had just been the makings of a concept, she had gone above and beyond for him. Gwen smiled softly as she placed her head on his shoulder.

"Praise me more." She breathed out as Peter laughed as he watched Gwen give a cute little yawn. "There's a lot more I wanted to try out, give the suit at least some technology upgrades, but I was getting burned out just thinking about them and wanted to get it to you as soon as possible." She admitted.

"This is more than enough." Peter smiled. "I owe you, Gwen."

"I'll hold you to it." She began, moving her head from his shoulder and standing up. "I'm going to sleep for the next week, keep in touch and let me know if you need any adjustments. I've got a few more ideas. When you get a chance you should come by Visions and I'll show you my lab." Gwen continued as she walked away before glancing over her shoulder. "Don't be a stranger, Bug-Boy." Peter just watched as Gwen headed across the street and into the apartment building. Looking down into the bag he couldn't help the smile come to his face.

He was really going to have to do something to pay Gwen back for this.

Honestly, Peter couldn't wait to see the full costume and try it on. After Gwen had left to rest, he had gone to the top of a nearby building, stripping off his clothes down to his underwear before pulling on the new costume. It fit like a glove and stretched with his movements so it wasn't tight to move about. He was glad he had given every measurement Gwen had asked for over the phone, he would have hated if it hadn't fit properly after everything Gwen had done to build it. Luckily, Gwen had been thorough.

The full suit had a red and blue color scheme, almost like the spider that had given him these powers. The body, head, outer arms, upper hip, and knee-high boots were red. Just like his mask, the red coloring had black outlining that resembled a spider's web, especially on the mask area and the torso. These outlines split the red into rectangle segments, which were especially visible on the torso area, neck, and shoulders.

The inner arms, upper legs, and outer torso were matt blue. The colors were in a bright tone, especially among the red coloring. The eye lenses were black on the outline and white in the middle. The black spider symbol was small, fist-sized, and centered just above his chest. At the back, there was another spider insignia but instead of black, it was red and larger than the one on his chest.

Now he looked like a Super Hero.

Glancing at his phone for the time, it reading -7:42-, he had just under twenty minutes to head for the address in Hell's kitchen. If he pushed it, he should be able to make it with a few minutes to spare. Shoving his clothes into his backpack, zipping it up seeing that he probably wouldn't need it for the first team meeting, he threw it at a wall, shooting a net of webbing over it to hold it there.

"I'll be back for you." Peter mused as he jumped up onto the ledge of the building, perching as he looked down into the street as the visage below was filled with people going about their mornings. Standing up he spread his arms out wide before diving off the edge.

"WOOOHOOOO! Good morning New York!"

Swinging across the city was an experience he would never forget, it was even made more exhilarating with the new suit. Not being weighed down by the baggy clothes he had previously worn, he gained even more speed and his lenses were wider and he could see his surroundings much more clearly. The new web fluid formula even latched onto the buildings more securely giving him much more confidence.

"At this rate, I'll actually be early." Peter mused, already making good time through the towers that made up Manhattan. However, the moment the thought of being early entered his mind, the familiar sound of sirens reached his ears. "Well, so much for that, let's just try not to be too late." Swinging over to the corner of a building, perching on the wall he followed the sound of sirens to see an early morning police chase... mid-chase. "What kind of criminal is up this early in the morning!?"

[~He's not there?~] Batman's gruff voice came through her earpiece as Black Canary leaned on the wall of a shipping container, it was already ten minutes past the time of their meeting. The rest of Batman's team had gathered already at Mount Justice to get acquainted with their new base of operations, even the new arrival Miss Martian was present and accounted for.

It seemed like Spider-Man had a knack for being fashionably late, meaning she, who was supposed to take him to the team, wasn't present like she had been expecting to be. She had the task of training up the young Heros while also keeping a check on their mental states throughout the course of their work. Hero work, in general, was never easy and it could weigh heavily on the mind, even some members of the League needed someone to vent too. It was good of Batman to assign her to the job.

"It looks like he got held up, but I'm sure he's not far away." Black Canary stated. She had heard the commotion with the police chase and just happened to catch sight of a certain someone swinging his way after it in full pursuit, it wasn't difficult to find the incident on her phone. "He got himself a proper suit." She mused having seen the improved costume on her phone, she had to wonder where he had gotten it from.

Had seeing herself and Batman all suited up, made him decide to upgrade? The kid had skills if he could pull that off, that quickly. No doubt Batman had something in mind for a suit upgrade, similar to the ones he had for the other members with stealth-tech upgrades for the covert missions Batman would send them on, although she had the sinking feeling that stealth wouldn't always work for the young team. Only time would tell.

[~Hmm.~] Black Canary rolled her eyes at Batman's less-than-vocal vocabulary before she spotted the incoming teen. Spider-Man flipped from his web before landing in a low crouch on the ground, at least he had the landings down, she was interested to see what he could do. Ending her call with Batman she smirked as she placed her hands in her jacket pockets pushing off the shipping container.

"You're late." Black Canary stated as she took in the teen's new costume obviously she had seen it on the news report but up close showed just how well it was made. It was much better than what she had seen him in the other day, he'd fit in more now that he had a proper suit, although Batman probably should have told him to dress casually today since the rest of the team would be. But the kid had the right to his secret identity, it was up to him if he wanted to reveal it to the rest of the team.

"Sorry, car chase." Spider-Man began before taking a look around. "So uh, where's uh, Batman and the team?" Black Canary smirked as she raised an eyebrow at him.

"I'm not good enough for ya? I'm hurt." She teased, but obviously, the kid wasn't often on the end of such things as panic set in, it was kinda cute.

"Wha?! No! Of course! You're great!" He defended, waving his hands in front of himself, she could even tell that he'd reconfigured the design of his web-shooters, no longer the bulky contraption she had seen on his wrists, now the size of wrist watches, no doubt the design could still be adjusted. Just where had he found the time to work on his suit and his shooters? Did he have help?

"I'm just teasing kid, follow me." Black Canary gestured for him to follow which he did. She led him to a large shipping container, Spider-Man watching with interest as she slid a panel to the side as a computer unfolded from it as Black Canary began to enter the correct passcode.

"Woah." Spider-Man breathed out as the wall of the shipping container lifted up Black canary stepping into the container.

"Hurry up Kid, we're already late." Black Canary told him with a small smile, if he was impressed just by this he would be blown away when he saw the rest of what was in store for him, his entire world was about to be changed. He hurried to her side and the wall of the container closed behind him leaving them both in pitch black darkness, there was an awkward moment of silence.

"Uh... this is great, nice atmosphere, you know there's not that many apartments bigger than this in the city. You guys got a really big deal." Spider-Man stated awkwardly to fill in the silence as Black Canary did her best not to chuckle. The floor beneath them shifted only to begin to lower them down. As the floor moved down, lights began to flicker on around them stunning Spider-Man at the underground bunker.

Concrete lined the floor and walls, and the entire roof was made up of large LED panels that brightly lit the entire bunker. From what Spider-Man could gather, the bunker was the same size as the lot above and it was completely empty. When the makeshift lift reached the floor, Black Canary stepped off and started to head to the far wall. Spider-Man quickly followed after her, when they reached the wall the concrete parted revealing a large circular machine behind.

"This is a Zeta-Tube, it'll take us to where we're going." Black Canary stated as she gestured for Spider-Man to stand before the machine, no doubt he was brimming with questions but they could be dealt with later, they were already late as it was. "Batman's already registered you within the database." She explained as Spider-Man stepped forward only for a beam of green light to shine over him.

[-Recognised: Spider-Man B-07-] The machine began to activate, a massive swell of energy emitted at the end of the circular tube before a bright light emitted. Spider-Man glanced back at Black Canary who nodded. Turning back, Spider-Man was glad he had his mask as it was hiding his nervousness, stepping forward into the light his entire body was hit by the strange energy, his Spider-Sense didn't warn him to anything so he kept going. Squinting his eyes shut he continued to walk.

[-Recognised: Spider-Man -B-07-] Hearing the same automated voice he opened his eyes and clearly, he wasn't where he had just been and all eyes were on him and he felt very overdressed. He spotted the other members of the team, none were dressed in costume. It was clear all were teenagers, varying in age. Wait, was the girl green!? Was he about to meet an alien for the first time!? Nobody told him that!

[-Recognised: Black Canary -13-] Black Canary patted him on the shoulder as she walked by him, with a smile as she gestured for him to follow after her.

"Let's introduce you to the rest of the team." She told him as they walked into the large Chamber built inside Mount Justice.
