Chapter 2: Memories
Team Dark arrived at the scene for GUN locks down the Museum for the interior is pretty messed up. "We had the explosion at the doctor's base and now we have these attacks from an unknown figure," Rouge said as Omega is looking around to scan the area.
"It's quite unusual, to say the least," Shadow said as this isn't the Doctor's MO for there is only one thing missing which is a weird ancient compass that was not functional at all. "Why would they steal a useless item?" Shadow questioned as Omega detects traces of black goo left behind.
"I found something," Omega said as Rouge looks down to see this inky goo sticking to the side of the wall.
"What in the hell is this stuff?" Rouge wondered as she grabs samples to bring them back to the GUN labs.
"An enemy we haven't faced before," Shadow said as he looks out the window to be concerned with this new threat. Rouge comes behind him and hugs him.
"Gee, all this paperwork is going to cut into our date night," Rouge said as Shadow turns around to gently stroke Rouge's cheek.
"Better next time," Shadow said with a sly smile for him to go with Omega outside the building.
"Gee, always a buzzkill," Rouge said with a small smile to meet up with her team.
Elsewhere in the city of Station Square within the couple's large apartment with the night still young. Sonic and Amy are on a laptop to go on a video chat with Tails to see the teenage genius working on his Cyclone airplane. "So, a big red guy and a group of inkblot monsters. This is not Eggman this time," Tails said.
"Also, that Red Guy Zavok talked about something called the Rift Specter. Ever hear about it Tails?" Amy asked.
"Nope but I can do some digging around on the web. Everyone is so crazy lately. Well, I will contact you two when I find something," Tails said as he cuts off the link.
Amy is lying in bed with Sonic watching over her. "You got pretty beat up but with a little rest. You'll be fine," Sonic got a medical warp over her wound on her arm for him to gently caress her furry cheeks.
"Thanks, Blue. You're a real sweetheart," Amy said feeling her cheeks get rosy from him touching them so affectionately. He puts the first aid kit away to check over her condition.
"My pleasure, I should let you rest for a bit," Sonic heads off but the hedgehog stops him by pulling him by the arm. "What's wrong?" he asked
"Can you be in bed with me?" the hedgehog can see Sonic's face glow bright red as Amy playfully hits him on the shoulder. "Oh, you horn dog. I want to cuddle. It'll make me feel better," Amy said as Sonic crawls under the sheets and spoons his girlfriend from behind.
"Wow Amy, you're so warm," Sonic said as he robs his naked hands over her pink furry belly for Amy to love her hero's gentle touch.
"Glad you're comfortable, see you in the morning Blue," the pink hedgehog kisses him on the lips as they relax in each other's embrace. Sonic dwells in his dreams to witness the worst day of his life when Eggman took everything away from him.

12-year-old Sonic is running through the Great Forest nearby Knothole Village to grab some flowers for his caretaker Ms. Buckbeak. "Now this is good, I need to jam back to the village before it gets dark," he said as he performs a Spin Dash to go under a fallen tree for he is very happy it works.
"Gee, that took a while to master but it was worth it," he thought feeling proud of himself to speed towards the gate of Knothole Village.
"Hey kids, don't be out here so late. Ms. Buckbeak is worried about you," the village guard said.
"Don't worry, I wanted to grab her a gift," Sonic said as the guard nods at this.
"Okay young one, keep going back to the orphanage," the guard said as Sonic speeds through the small village which is built around large tree trunks.
Sonic rushes to the door of the orphanage to see a tall female Mobian Owl waiting for him there. "Sonic, where were you?" she asked.
"I got these for you Buckbeak," Sonic hands her a bunch of flowers. She grabs the flowers to be touched by his sweet gesture.
"Thank you Sonic, this is pretty nice too," she takes Sonic inside the building to see other children playing with each other. Buckbeak puts the flowers into a vase right by the window with the sun shining its light through it and the curtains.
"It's all for you Mrs. Buckbeak," Sonic said as the caretakers feel touched by this.
"Oh Bernadette, you have produced a wonderful son. I wish you can see him now," Buckbeak said.
"Can I play outside?" Sonic asked.
"Yes but not too long. I am cooking up your favorite food, Chili Dogs," she said as Sonic is licking his lips at the spicy dishes.
"Oh yes, this is going to be an awesome day today," Sonic said to get excited as he speeds outside to go on a rocky hoop.
"That speed is a gift from your late mother through her genes passed onto you Sonic," she thought as she goes back into the kitchen to begin finishing up dinner for the kids inside.
Soon enough, all the kids begin eating at the table with Sonic getting a plate of chili dogs for him to eat through them pretty easily.
"Oh, that hits the spot," Sonic said.
"Quite a bit hungry today huh?" Buckbeak asked.
"Yes, it was good," Sonic said.
"Hey Sonic, when you are older I would love to give you something that your mother once had," Buckbeak said.
'Oh, what is it," Sonic said as he always wanted to know about his mother who he waited to come back but now thinks she is dead.
"Only when you are old enough to see the truth of her love for you. My boy," Buckbeak said as night has come over the small village with a looming shadow on top of a cliff ready to make his move.
"Snively, time to find these emeralds on this rock," a low menacing voice said.
"Of course, Uncle," Snively said as a swarm of Badnik descend onto the village.
Sonic is in bed sound asleep but he hears explosions outside rocking the whole area. "What the heck is going on outside," Sonic wondered as the young boy walks outside to see the village of Knothole being attacked by weird-looking machines.
"Sonic, get down," Buckbeak dives for him to avoid a laser blast with Badnik killing the civilians of the town.
"So, my beaked friend. Where is the emerald?" a man demanded as he hovers on his egg-shaped platform with a small man operating a mech suit beside him.
"You must be Dr. Robotnik, the disgraced scientist from the United Federation," Buckbeak said.
"Well, GUN can't manage my genius and so I came here to those pitiful islands to seek the ultimate power. I am going to torch every village in this forsaken rock until the crown tells me where all the emeralds are located," Robotnik said as Sonic felt scared but also very angry at this man and his assistant seeking to destroy their home.
"You will never get the Chaos Emeralds Robotnik," Buckbeak said as Robotnik snaps his fingers to order Snively to fire a powerful beam to strike at the owl Mobian sending her flying into a broken tree and breaking her back on impact.
"No, you will not get away with this," Sonic uses his Spin Dash to slam into Snively's mech to knock him down.
"What in the hell is that," Snively questioned as Robotnik looks at the young body to see this hedgehog looks quite familiar.
"No, it can't be," Robotnik looks at the young 12-year-old Sonic to remind him of a troublesome hedgehog woman who gave him trouble about 9 years ago. "So, she spawned a brat. Just great," Robotnik fires a beam of energy to slam into Sonic. The young boy got sent flying and knocking him into a building to fall on top of him.
"Ms. Buckbeak, no," Sonic blacks out as the whole village is destroyed and the rest were captured by the mad doctor and his nephew.
Within a few hours, Sonic wakes up to get out of the fallen debris. He is covered with cuts and bruises but he is fine. "Ms. Buckbeak," he called out to see the whole village of Knothole is ruined and the buildings burned out. There were dead bodies but most of the people were captured by Robotnik.
Sonic searches for his caretaker to see the middle-aged Buckbeak lying on the grass to be lifeless. The young Sonic went over to her trying to wake her up but she remains still.
"No Buckbeak is gone and the others were captured by Robotnik," Sonic wanted to cry but instead his heart is replaced with a deep sense of justice wanting to stop Robotnik from hurting any more people. "Okay Sonic, I need to sleep for a bit, and then I am going after that weirdo. Save everyone and stop this crazy man," the young Sonic has determination within his heart for him to go forward on a quest to stop Robotnik and save South Island from his wraith.

The sun is high in the sky for Amy to wake up from her slumber with her lover/best friend holding her around her waist. The pink hedgehog yawns softly for her to stretch out her limbs. "Morning sweetie," she said.
She turns around to see Sonic snoring peacefully with his face nuzzling against her long hair all bedridden. "Mmm, oh sweet you're so luscious and thick; I like to eat every part of you," Sonic muttered in his sleep as Amy blushes thinking he was fantasying about her.

She turns on the bathtub for the warm water to escape the tub as she strips out of her dress and underwear putting them on the side. She sits in the water-filled tub letting her body soothe from the warmth.
"Oh, that hits the spot," Amy relaxes in the bathtub as she washes away the dirt off her body. "I remember I first meet him; he was so frightful of water. It's one of the few times I can see him truly vulnerable," she said with a big smile.
Amy pulls herself out of the water and turns off the water letting the drain out. She steps out dripping wet using a towel to dry off her fur and hair. "Great nice and clean," Amy grabs a pair of black panties and bra to put them; they snug well against her curvaceous figure.
She slips into a white tank top and blue knee-length skirt with her pink hair nice and shiny. She heads out of the bathroom as Sonic begins to wake up. "Honey, you're awake. How was your sleep?" Amy asked.
Amy sits next to him on the bed as Sonic yawns loudly, "Pretty good. I have the nicest dream." Amy sighs from his food fetish dream. "Has your arm healed?" he said concerned looking at her bandaged arm as Amy nods her head.
"Yes, I'm fine. Thanks, your hugs helped with that," Amy said as Sonic gets out of bed and kisses her on the cheek. They go into the living room with Amy going into the kitchen.
"No problem, babe. Emotional healing works," Sonic sits on her couch as Amy searches through the fridge looking for something for the two to eat. Sonic turns on the TV for the news to come on. "Hey, Amy look at this," Sonic commented and Amy turns her head to the TV.
"This is a special report, the museum suffered serious damage by unknown figures. They manage to kill several security guards and evaded the police, from the camera footage Sonic and his partner Amy managed to fend off the fiends but cannot prevent them from stealing an artifact called the Onyx Compass. More news coming up," the news reporter said as photos of the museum are being shown onscreen.
"Anything you want, I got bacon, eggs, some toast. What do you like?" Amy asked as Sonic turns around and sees she was bending over into the fridge for him to stare at her butt loving how it hugs the back of her skirt.
"How about some round plump buns," Sonic has a flush on his face as Amy looks back and notices him staring.

The duo eat their breakfast as the report came back on the TV. "The police are wondering about this attack that the infamous Doctor Eggman will come back after being defeated by Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends a few weeks ago leaving the world in a state of peace," the male reporter said.
"Sonic, I'm worried about that Compass and that big guy's words about his Mistress. Who's out there that could be worse than Eggman?" Amy sounded worried about this.
"Who knows babe, I mean Robotnik is the only big bad out there but there were other guys like Black Doom, and the Metarex were even worse than Eggman so this isn't new," Sonic said.
"In any case, Tails needs to pinpoint that data about this Rift Specter business. It'll take a few days to figure it out," Amy said as Sonic turns the holoscreen off with the remote.
"It's all we got," Sonic said as he gives his girlfriend a deep kiss for him to caress her left cheek.
"I hope he can find something Blue; this makes me nervous," Amy said as she joins him on the couch to cuddle up in a soft embrace.
"Yeah I know, I had a bad dream last night," Sonic said as Amy looks at him even more worried.
"Really, why did you say anything baby?" she asked.
"Sorry," Sonic said as he is a bit sad.
"It's the one with your village getting destroyed?" she asked to know exactly what he is talking about.
"Yeah," Sonic said as Amy goes to hug him trying to comfort Sonic.

"Yeah, I remember the time I went to the Scrap brain base to put Buckbeak's memory and the others to rest. Eggman," Sonic said as he remembers the final battle to free South Island from Eggman and his weird evil nephew Snively.
-Flashback Begins-
12-year-old Sonic speeds towards the massive base after a few days of going through Robotnik's defenses until he is at the mad scientist's doorstep. "Okay, Robotnik. Time for some payback," Sonic said as he sees a group of Buzz Bombers flying toward him. "Out of my way," Sonic uses his Spin Dash to cut them down and free the little animals inside to turn the robotic shells to scrap metal.
Within the Scrap Brain fortress, Dr. Robotnik is detecting something on his scanners. Snively is looking over a screen to see the little blue hedgehog crushing his Badniks. "Sir, that brat has come in force," Snively said as Robotnik is not pleased for his efforts being undermined by a runt.
"That blue rat is ruining my foothold on this forsaken island. I need to crush him fast and deal with the crown," Robotnik said as he is not ready yet to launch a worldwide operation to use Isles as a base of operations.
"Sir, I will deal with the blue rat myself," Snively said.
"Do not fail me or there will be consequences nephew," Robotnik gave him a nasty look which put Snively in an uneasy mood.
"Of course, sir," Snively goes to the hanger to get into one of his mechs. "I will show him what I am capable of," he thought as he gets ready for Sonic's arrival.
Sonic blasts through dozens of Badniks to run up the huge walls to see the fortress is connected to the sea. He scales up the wall to curl up into a ball to smash into a few Crabmeats to manage to get inside to head for the center of the Scrap Brain fortress.
"Time to end this," Sonic thought as he is focused to push further into the base. He uses his speed to avoid traps and blocked paths. He leaps over a spiked trap with him kicking an incoming Buzz Bomber to slam into a Caterkiller destroying them both at once.
Sonic leaps over a laser turret to barely avoid the laser beam with Sonic scaling into an opening to leap onto a platform.
"Hello there runt," Snively said on a speaker to be within a mech called the Egg Serpent.
"Yo big nose. I am going to fight your uncle and you are not going to stop me," Sonic said as he was a one-man army to Robotnik's forces including Robotnik several times himself in his various weird mechs.
"Sorry rat but I can't let you pass," Snively said as he moves his metal snake to lunge at Sonic. He flips over the attack to slam into the cockpit to break the glass somewhat. "How dare you land a hit on me brat," Snively said as the Egg Snake opens its mouth to unleash a beam of energy but Sonic is running along the walls to avoid the assault.
"You got to be faster than that big nose," Sonic taunting him as Snively's ego is unable to take him being outwitted by a pre-teen.
"Eat this," Snively said as the Egg Serpent launches missiles to home in on Sonic's heat signature.
"Oh boy," Sonic said as he is leaps over the crates with some of the missiles hitting the boxes causing explosions but some still track behind him. "Special delivery," Sonic runs towards the metal beast for him to curl into a ball to go underneath the Egg Serpent for the missiles hit the robot.
"You little shit," Snively said as his mech is at 50% hull integrity to activate an energy shield that protected Snively from Sonic's Spin Dashes. "Try again Hedgehog, your little tricks will not save you now," he mocked the pre-teen with Sonic trying to come up with a plan. The shielded Egg Serpent is lunging at Sonic with him noting sections of the walls being exposed with electric wires.
"Got it," Sonic said as he stands in front of the wires to blow the little man a raspberry. "Hey Needlenose, how about giving me a big wet kiss with that robot," Sonic taunted him.
"I will give you more than a big kiss, you pest," Snively said as he lunges at Sonic for him to dodge at the last minute. The Egg Serpent lunges into the wires to shock the mech enough to disable the shield. Sonic slams into the cockpit and breaks it causing the mech to go nuts. "No, no! I can't believe I got outsmarted by a blue rat," Snively said as the Egg Serpent ceases to function anymore.
"Come at me some other time Needlenose," Sonic said as Snively teleports away in shame.
Robotnik looks at the video to be deeply disappointed with his nephew. "That Snively's hatred for the Mobians blinded him. I need to teach him a harsh lesson but now it's time to do things myself," Robotnik said as Sonic speeds through the complex to fight more Badniks for the path to Robotnik is clear.
"Alright Buckbeak, I will avenge you and the others who died by this man's dirty hands," Sonic thought to be focused and clear-minded.
"Hello Sonic," Robotnik gives him a shit-eating grin which made Sonic quite angry to speed right toward him.
"Egghead," Sonic said as Robotnik pushes a button on his glove to reveal a trap door which send Sonic falling below.
"This will give me extra time to set up his demise," Robotnik said as he runs to his special room to await Sonic's arrival.
Within a few minutes, Sonic returns from the depths of the base and heads for the center to meet Robotnik inside a tube working under his control. "Time to end this brat," Robotnik said as he seals off the room for all tubes come from all directions trying to crush him.
"Oh gee," Sonic is using his speed to avoid all the presses with Robotnik popping in and out in one of the tubes trying to turn Sonic into a bloody pancake.
"This is the Egg Crusher which is this whole room. There is no pause or escape. Only death for you, kid," Robotnik mocks him as Sonic is trying to find which tube is holding Robotnik as it keeps switching out rapidly.
"This will not stop me, egghead. I will make you pay for what you did to Knothole village and Buckbeak," Sonic said as he spots Robotnik using his Spin Dash to slam into his tube to damage it.
"Who are you talking about kid?" Robotnik questioned as he speeds up the tubes trying to crush Sonic but he keeps dodging and weaving with all the tubes becoming a blur of greys in his vision.
"She is like an aunt to me, who took care of me and raise all the orphan kids like her own children. She is a truly good person you murdered along with the others," Sonic said feeling determined.
"Sorry I can't recall," Robotnik said as this made Sonic upset.
"You don't remember?" Sonic asked.
"For you, the day the brilliant Dr. Ivo Robotnik graced your pitiful village was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Monday," Robotnik has the biggest evil grin on his face as the young Sonic is not having it.
He focused more on his speed for Robotnik is getting uneasy by this sheer burst of speed. "Robotnik!" Sonic is bouncing off the walls to go over Mach 1 for the first time to smash into all of his tubes with ease to slam into Robotnik's tube for the second time.
"No impossible," Robotnik is getting desperate trying to stop Sonic but he triggers his emotions which push him to go beyond his limits to crush every single tube in the Egg Crusher.
"Take this," Sonic slams into Robotnik's tube to break it as well.
"Damn it, this kid has more power than I thought," Robotnik prepares to use his Egg Mobile to speed out of there. "You have not seen the last of me boy," Robotnik presses a button to trigger the Scrap Brain's self-destruct systems. "That boy remembers of a certain female Hedgehog who tried to stand against me," he thought as he flies away to meet up with his nephew to come up with a new plan to gain power over the isle chain.
Sonic runs out of the base for it explodes turning it into a burned-out set of ruins. Sonic is on top of a hill to overlook the ruined bae with parts of it falling into the Pearl Sea. The young Sonic did it, he was able to defeat Robotnik and forces to knock them out of South Island for good.
"Buckbeak and everyone, I hope you can find some peace now. That egghead is still out there but my home is safe from him," he thought as he soon tracks down Robotnik to go on a long journey to make him become Mobius's greatest hero.

Amy remembers this story very well. "Right, you did become the hero of Mobius and the hero of my dreams. But that path to become a hero has a lot of pain along the way," Amy said feeling deep sympathy for him.
"Yeah it did but I gather the courage to fight Eggman and beat him for the first time despite my fears of failing Buckbeak," Sonic said.

"What the hell?" Rouge questioned as the ooze goes into the researcher's skin to transform him into Unbound himself. The Researcher rushes towards Rouge as Shadow gets in front of her and kicks the infected human across the lab to slam into a wall breaking his back.
The infected got back up despite having a broken back and rushes at them. Rouge draws out her bomb to toss it and stick it onto the torso of the infected human. The bomb vaporizes the infested to take care of the threat. "Well, that ended well," Rouge said dryly.
"There goes our lead," Shadow said as any trace of the ooze is gone.
"Well, we are flying blind here. These black creatures and that big red guy. Curious how this turned out," Rouge said.
"Yeah better look at that security video to pick up some clues," Shadow said as they resume their search for the villain behind all this.
Back with Amy and Sonic just looking through a scrapbook that has all the photos they have taken over the years. "Look at this one, we were at Twinkle Park for the first time before Perfect Chaos flooded the city. Our first date baby," Amy said to have a big smile on her muzzle.

"I see but I don't care much about the fame. I am just doing my thing stopping egghead," Amy said as Sonic nods his head.
"I see, so where are you from anyway?" Sonic asked.
"Oh, I am from Okina City in Yurashia. Land of dragons, silk robes, ramen, and ninjas clans, it's pretty good ever been there before?" she asked.
"Not really, I have been on South island all my life stuck in that village with my foster mother Buckbeak in the orphanage," Sonic said as Amy looks with curiosity and sympathy.
"You don't know about your parents?" Amy asked.
"Nope, I had a Mother Bernadette Hedgehog but she went away and never came back," Sonic said.
"Oh, what about Miss Buckbeak?" she asked as Sonic has a pained look on his face.
"She was murdered by Robotnik and his nephew destroyed Knothole village and killed everyone there. I was too weak to stop it," Sonic said as she still feel the powerlessness she felt that day and he has real anger against Robotnik for taking everything from him.
Amy is shocked by this as no one knew about the Knothole Village and the tragedy that happened there. "You poor thing," Amy goes in to give him a big hug for Sonic's face is glowing red.
"Wow, she smells very nice," Sonic thought as he returns the hug. "Thanks, Amy, you're the first person I told this to. I am the only one with memories of that place like it never existed at all to the rest of the world," Sonic said.
"Well, I know now and together. We will keep the memory of your village and Buckbeak alive," Amy said showing off her empathy and bright personality. Sonic is shining up at her and she is not just a pretty face.
"Thanks, Ames, I need that," Sonic said as his mind is a bit at ease with Amy there. Amy is happy to hear her hero call her a cute nickname.
"Anytime Blue," Amy said to give him a cute nickname too.
"Just to let you know, I just didn't save you to be a big shot. I want to make sure things like Knothole don't happen again and I have the power to do that. I don't want you to suffer as I did," Sonic said being quite serious about this.
"Sonic," Amy looks at him with new eyes and appreciation. "Goodness, it's hard not to fall for him," Amy thought as her heart is racing to know this young man is a noble soul trying to make the world a better place so people don't suffer as he did.
"Ames?" Sonic asked as Amy snaps out of her daze.
"Sorry, I am awestruck by why you became a hero and I find it very honorable," Amy said as she grabs her hand and hold it tightly. "Please, if you need someone to talk to. You can always count on me," Amy said.
"Okay I will," Sonic said as he gets off the tree but Amy holds his arm. "You need something Ames?" he asked.
"I want to take a photo with you. To preserve the memory of our 'special friendship' we just made today," Amy said as Sonic nods his head. "Okay," Amy pulls out her Smartphone to set it on a rock for them to get into position. "1,2,3. Cheese," Amy said as the camera flashes to capture the two hedgehogs' striking pose.
"Cool, you need a ride?" he asked.
"Nope, I got my boat. If you want to talk and hang out, I am in Okina City. Come by and visit at my house," Amy said.
"Cool, I will, see you later," Sonic dashes away with Amy looking at him and disappearing in the distance.
"Oh Sonic, I am so impressed by this side of you. I am even more interested than before. This is the best day ever," Amy said as she skips to her boat to leave the island to head back to the mainland.

Amy recalls that memory to lay her hand on his shoulder. "My destiny with you was pretty clear from the beginning," she said.
"I know babe," he said as he kisses her on the lips. He checks his phone to see Tails sending him a message. "Seems like he came through, he got some files on this Rift Specter," Sonic said.
"Oh, we can browse through it soon," Amy said as they go into their room to begin looking over the data.
Elsewhere within Witchcraft's lair at an unknown location. She is in her chamber to charge up the compass with the first part of the Rift Specter on her desk. "It will take time to charge this up and get to work again. It will be all worth it in the end," she said as Zavok is talking with the Deadly Six.
"Everyone our Mistress gave us another task. We need to seek the Chaos Emeralds to give enough energy to power up the staff. We have two objectives, finding the 7 pieces of the Rift Specter and gathering all 7 Chaos Emeralds," Zavok said.
"How troublesome," Zeena said.
"Well, more time for me to kill stuff, that's for sure," Zazz said.
"That's the spirit," Zavok said.
"What about the Master Emerald? Do we seek that out too?" Zeena asked.
"No, Angel Island is being protected by its power which makes it very difficult to track down. The Chaos Emerald will suffice for our purposes," Zavok said as he rallies his comrades. "We will wreak chaos across this world along with the Unbound. For the sake of our Mistress and universal domination awaits us and beyond," Zavok said as the Deadly Six begin to seek out the Chaos Emeralds as well.
