At this point in the countdown in terms of all of the bonus speedway / flight levels from all three of the Spyro PS1 games go for in my IMO, I found Icy Flight to be a decent above average bonus level of what it's worth of to the three Spyro PS1 games thanks to in part of Icy Flight being fairly challenging to play through at times for and thanks to the unique style of gameplay taking in sections for of Icy Flight unlike in the rest of the flight levels of Spyro 1 such as the cool helicopter gnorcs and trains to target down in of the main trial mode race section in of the level, which is refreshing and good for at least a speedway / flight level to mix up the gameplay design in unlike most of the speedway / flight levels of the three Spyro games.
Wild Flight aside, this was the best flight level of Spyro 1 and while that really isn't saying much, it does say alot in for the rest of the crappy flight / speedway levels already ranked poorly on the countdown compared to Icy Flight. Again, I found it nice with Icy Flight feeling unique, non-linear and original to play through thanks to different paths to take in part of the main gameplay of the level such as taking down one path in take down all of the chests to taking down a path getting lucky with your time and taking out all of the train targets of the speedway and another following down a path allowing the player to take out all of the lighthouse targets all at one time. This is a very good and cool note for any type of gameplay designed level from a Video Game and this is a great thing that I like from anything and there is no denying how these types of things help bring out the life of Video Games out more and it's to nice that well for most of the levels of the 3 Spyro games.
At any rate overall, Icy Flight was great for what it was but much like what all of the Spyro 1 flight / speedway levels suffer from, they suffer from a lack of gameplay variety in part of no extras to take in part of in unlike the enjoyable secret orb and dragon egg mini-games with Hunter from Spyro 2 and 3 with Spyro 1 having nothing of note to keep going back for in of the Spyro 1 flying levels other then getting better times but otherwise problems aside, Icy Flight was a semi-decent bonus level of what it was for in of the three Spyro games and who doesn't love the charm of the winter and ice presentation of the design and music in of the level?
