The Negative Zone aka the world of shadows. It was the inverted reality that only he had access to. He was free to do as he pleased inside it. The only problem was that everything outside of it moved at half speed. He watched everything in slow motion. He could hear secrets, watch pranks, and keep an eye on his little sister Luz. He soaked up that knowledge like he did back in earth. He remembered everything because everything was important.
"Emperor Belos has eyes everywhere, and I have eyes on Belos." He said as he watched Lilith walk into the throne room.
" How has your progress been in the prisoner? "
Her head was down as she knelt. She was either afraid of ashamed. "I must admit, sire. Interrogating him has been a challenge. Especially since..."
His head turned down toward her. " especially since...what? "
"He calls himself, the last magic human."
Marcus looked closely to see Belos gripping his chair with rage. He took a deep breath and said, "Keep trying, failure is not an option. He may prove to be useful. Do what you must."
" Yes, emperor. " with that she walked out. Marcus watched something else happen as soon as the door shut. "Oooooh! Are you grumpy that after all these years years there is still magic in your home world?" A shadowy figure floated around the room.
"I am not worried. If he is telling the truth and he IS the last magic human. Then I have nothing to worry about. It just means that things are moving slower than I thought. Why don't you know about him, collector?"
" Hey! I can only see as far as the glass can see ever since I have been imprisoned here. It's not fair! Not fair! You gotta hurry and free me! "
"All in due time."
Not ALL information must be shared. Some things should be kept secret until the appointed time. He ran over to the owl house to find everyone okay. He didn't want to intrude, so he left a note that said eat your vegetables.
He snuck into the library and read as many book as he could. With the outside world being in slow motion, he could read about 15-18 books to completion every day. Palisman, magic, Titan's blood, sport (He was extremely disappointed that there was only 4 or so official sports), geography in general.
Lilith was coming to his cell so he made it back before she did and hopped back into reality.
"Marcus. It isn't that hard. Just tell me where she is and we will set you free." She said handing him a tray of food.
" and lose my free room and food? No thanks. "
She groaned. She wasn't getting anywhere with him. She must admit, he was something to look at for a human. More attractive than some of the men here in the boiling isles. She was a coven head, he was a human prisoner. Never. Going. To. Happen. She got angry at him.
"Why are you so determined to stay here? Eda has your sister. You could be with her. Why? "
He was eating a sandwich. He gave her the empty tray and answered, "I made a promise to keep her safe. Staying with her 24/7 would actually put her life in a lot more danger. " He said all this with a smile.
Lilith was astonished, he knows something. He has reasons, at it looks like good ones. "How would her life be in more danger with you around?"
" That, is a story for another day. Good night, beautiful. " He laid down on the ground and fell asleep. Lilith huffed and walked away.
