Something about Doctor Shemp just bugs me. I am not sure if it's due to the fact of how annoying the enemies are of the level with the hyperactive suicidal gnorc Indians that love to attack you and take themselves down or how easy, disappointing and very forgettable of a "boss" Doctor Shemp is. It may be a combination of both but in terms of gameplay design, Doctor Shemp isn't a bad level thanks to in part of how the main core platforming experience is easy and enjoyable to get into but, in terms of the real "boss battle" gameplay goes of Doctor Shemp, it's disappointing of how unlike Metalhead, Jacques, Toasty and Gnasty Gnorc that included unique and somewhat challenging boss fights to play through in, Doctor Shemp doesn't offer of that unlike the other four Spyro 1 boss levels that included fun gameplay design and a fun, unique boss to face off with and Doctor Shemp doesn't offer much of anything unique making me having to rank it fairly low on the countdown compared to the much more fun boss levels of that of all three Spyro games.

As for the boss fight goes in of the level, you face off with "Doctor Shemp" as he is a giant Indian gnorc enemy that the only real attack he has to attack you with is with a giant skull club that uses in for the battle with such in pretty much only one gameplay pattern and that is spinning the club around of the boss battlefield and as such trying to hit you with, until you die. Because so of this, it makes up for a very disappointingly boss fight compared to the way more fun and original gameplay there is out of the rest of the boss battle levels of the Spyro PS1 Trilogy.

The easiest way to dodge his attack is simple enough for a kindergartner to understand and beat with. Simply think of dodging his attacks as a game of jump rope with whenever he comes around so to attack you with, dodge with the X button and when his back his turned, flame his behind and when this process is repeated three times, the guy is done. If you play through the boss, even during your first time through the game, you will see what I mean. Very disappointing, bland and boring of a boss. Not much to say.

The only semi-memorable thing coming out of Doctor Shemp is whenever you flame his behind, he lets out a loud and hilarious moan of pain that you can't help but laugh from. At any rate, not the most entertaining and fun level out there such given the fairly low ranking Doctor Shemp gets.
