Marcus was sitting cross-legged in the middle of his cell. He had no shirt on. The sort in his cell swirled around and Lilith was watching him. She has become fascinated with him. A human was doing magic. The historian/researcher in her wanted to know more.

His shirt and hoodie was off, revealing an attractive muscular upper body. The only problem was his body was covered in scars. Deep scars.

"Who did this to you? Was it the guards?" She was furious at the thought of the guards beating him up while she was gone.

The dirt he was playing with quickly came together and formed a spike that nearly skewered her skull. He opened his eyes and the spike crumbled to nothingness. "Oops."

He got up and put his clothes on. He turned his back to her, showing a big X shaped scar on his back. She was horrified. He looked back at her with a smile and said, "No."

She seemed to forget her question, "What?"

" No. The guards aren't beating me. "

She looked at the human with concern. "Then the scars... How did you get them?"

" I got them from fights. I hunt the reason why there is no magic in the human realm. "

He then pulled out a small string. In that string was a small dark blue crystal. It was a necklace that he put on. She was going to ask, but she had work to do. The Coven doesn't run itself. She also was ordered to report back any information she got from him to the Emperor.

When she left he hopped back into the shadows. The first thing he did was steal. He stole abomination goo, potion equipment, bird feathers from Eda's house, and the Emperor's spare staff (which he took apart after he realized it was artificial).

He spent the day setting up traps in the negative Castle and making potions. At night, however, he got a new visitor.

"Coven head Lilith said you weren't being very cooperative." A boy in a cloak and golden mask approached the bars. "I'm here to make you be a bit more cooperative."

" may I get to know the name of my attacker?" To be completely honest, he already knew all about the grimwalker before him. "I am the golden guard and that is all you need to know."

" Okay, I'm gonna call you Pinocchio. " The boy under the mask was weirded out. What is a Pinocchio? "Whatever. If you are not going to cooperate. I'll make you." His staff crackled and it started to flow red.

Until it wasn't. The golden guard watched as the human absorbed the energy with his hand. Making the staff useless. "You were saying Pinocchio?" He said with a smile. " come, sit. Let's play a game. "

Out of the shadows came a box labeled chess. "I don't have time to play a stupid human game."

" if it's stupid, then you should have no problem beating me. " He said with a superior smirk.

"you're on. "

Hunter lost the following fifteen games.

"You should probably go home and get some sleep." Marcus watched as the golden guard's head was nodding .

"No! One more game. I'm sure I can win." For a split second he was acting like a kid. Marcus was smiling at this . Hunter seemed to be very similar to him. They have both been through too much.

"Go to sleep Pinocchio. Come back again soon though. We have lots to talk about."

with a grunt, he left Marcus. Marcus was smiling in his sleep at all things he could do with his new friend.
