Covention day in the boiling isles was interesting. Marcus took time to see every coven that was out there. He was comparing it to the tales his ancestor Merlin told of the place. Back in Merlin's day everyone could use every type of magic. Prominent families took it upon themselves to create unique magic just for their families. A kind of thing to make them special.
The Morningstar pride was fusion magic. Marcus' family was the only family with enough knowledge about magic to make it work. His personal favorite was the fusion of abomination construction and illusion. He could make clones of himself that can walk a mile and a half away before they melt.
The Coven system before him was mildly disappointing. "How did you get out?" He turned around to see Lilith wide eyes and arms crossed . "Magic." He said with a smile. That was not enough information. She decided to maybe persuade him to join a coven.
"Are you interested in joining a coven?" She asked as they walked side by side. " No. I'm not. My clan is enough for me. "
"Clan?" She was curious . How did humans did magic? "I follow the Arcane Order of merit and mastery from 500 years ago. That is all I'll tell you about my magic today." Merit and mastery? The possibilities of what that meant were swimming in her head. "But enough about me, tell me about yourself, Lilith. Got a boyfriend? A pet fish? Favorite color? Family?"
Once again, she couldn't tell if he was joking or not. But she decided to indulge him. "No relationships, no pets, I like a light blue mixed with a dash of green, and I do have a sister in the boiling isles. " she then stopped in her tracks and saw, "Edalyn?"
He looked at each of them. "Wait... You two are sisters?!" They just looked at him and shook their heads. "See, she already likes me. You don't have to worry about your family not approving our relationship." She was blushing.
" we are not in a relationship! " She was finding it hard to keep herself calm. Eda was holding back her laughter. "Is it because of my age?" They then looked at him like he wasn't kidding. "I'm turning 20 in a month." Esa burst out laughing. Lilith went back to blushing in her new embarrassment. A 19 year old human was making her feel feelings.
His left eye then turned black and his smile faded. He turned to the front door. The two women were concerned about the shift in attitude. "I got to go. I'll be back in my cell by tonight. Lily." Her hands balled into fists and she was holding her breath. Her face turned blight red. He left the Covention after making sure no one dies in that duel with the spikes.
He walked to a sewer drain and jumped in. A mysterious figure followed behind. He walked until he reached a corner. A light ball floated out of his hand. He turned the corner and flicked the light ball. It zoomed down the tunnel to reveal hundreds of black crystalline spiders, crabs, and mantises. "How come no one has spotted these things yet? How come they are even here in the first place? There shouldn't be any of these things here."
He clapped his hands together really hard. And the echo bounced down the tunnel. The crystal monsters burst apart and their remains fell to the ground. He held out his hand and all the remains came to him. A black diamond formed and he put it in his pocket. "Now I have enough of both Halves. Promotion here I come. I can't help him the way I am now. But Arch-wizard me in four days from now can. " He jumped into a shadow returning to his cell.
The figure that was following him revealed to be Hunter. "He is actually trying to help me." He was happy that Marcus was going this far just to help him. " what are those things, anyways? " a hiss from the background made him jump and he ran back to the surface.
