Preston Ward Condra Ranks All 101 Spyro 1-3 Levels

A project I made when I was 15 years old, during my sophomore year in High School in September 2009. I critiqued and ranked every single level from Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage and Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon in, one consolidated project from worst to best. It doesn't matter if you agree with my opinion or not. All that matters, is that this ended up getting finished.

32. 71: Buzz's Dungeon

Much of what I said back in my Doctor Shemp write-up with the problems I had with that level can pretty much be so said for the same thing for Buzz's Dungeon. The boss of so level of Buzz's Dungeon falls flat compared to the rest of the more entertaining and hard boss battle levels out there left to rank on the countdown thanks to how like Doctor Shemp suffers from, is a lack of so variety in part of the battle and how nothing other Buzz performing a few so-so forgettable attacks in of the level that are easy to follow with making Buzz's Dungeon a disappointing and very easy boss battle out there of the series.

Buzz's Dungeon was good for what it was and I will admit and give credit on it of how it's the first boss level of such from Spyro 3 and setting up for the more better boss battle levels to follow out there of the game but, aside from that note, Buzz's Dungeon is a real level with no real positive or negative feel to me.

Like I stated earlier, the reason of such of why I have Buzz's Dungeon low on the countdown is in part of how extremely easy and bland of the boss battle level is. For the first section in part of the boss battle, you simple charge Buzz's fat behind into the lava and charge around of the stage so you don't get attacked by his spinning roll attack. From there, you move to Buzz launching fire breath attacks and trying to kill you in such for the process but, this is extremely simple and easy to dodge with of the gameplay of the level as all you knew to do from this point to attack him until he is dead is simply charging into the air and knocking him back in the lava until he is dead. On paper it may seem like there is hidden depth behind this boss to make it fun but, for me of what I found of it once you get used to the gameplay mechanics of Buzz in the level, the level gets to be extremely bland and easy as winning a game of Tic-Tac-Toe.

Not much else to say. It's always a likely major negative for a level likely ranking low on this countdown if there isn't much in terms of gameplay variety going for it and as such for it not being there for Buzz's Dungeon, earns it a fairly low slot on the countdown. And as such for a final note, the boss creeps me out in this level. You have to admit on how freaky looking Buzz is. Buzz looks like Vector the Crocodile from Sonic and Venusaur from Pokemon had a baby. 0_0
