AN: This is a completely revised and edited version of "I Have Always Loved You." Please go easy on me. Lol. Also, just want to give a TW: This first chapter depicts a non-consensual scene. Without further ado here is the first chapter! (Edited)
Six years have passed since their final year at Hogwarts, having been asked to come back for their "8th" year. Seven years since the war. Five years and three months since her little bundle of joy was born.
Hermione was in her small library with her now five-year-old son, Eltanin. They were waiting for Ronald to get home from work. It was more often than not that he came in late. Seeming to come home later and later for the last year. Hermione paid it no mind though, she had more important things to worry about. Like raising her baby boy. Who was too smart for his own good if she did say so herself. Looking more like his father day by day.
Already having made dinner and given Eltan his bath, the mother and son were now reading before bed.
Ronald Weasley had stopped at a pub after his shift at the Ministry, doing this on most nights now. He wasn't proud to say he had become a drunk. But that stupid twit he called a wife made him this way. She was the one who wouldn't give him a biological child. She was the one who knew how much it killed him to know that Eltan wasn't his. Lying to his family for the last five bloody years. He had been seeing Astoria Greengrass for almost a year now, meeting at the pub nearly every night.
Like any other night, he met up with Astoria after they had drunk themselves stupid, going to her place. She promised him the world, children, a home that he could come to knowing they were all his. He for the life of him though couldn't leave Hermione. He loved her. He thought he loved her anyway. It was the fighting he really loved. The way she looked hurt every time they fought. Giving Astoria a quick kiss and promising to be back in the morning Ron left, for once dreading leaving her side.
Hermione heard a fumble for keys but did not look up from her Witch Weekly magazine. Looking at the latest news on the most eligible bachelors in the wizarding community. Noticing the young Mr. Malfoy was still the #1 most eligible bachelor. It looked like he hadn't aged a single day since they graduated.
Ron was making his way up the stairs fumbling all the while as he got to the door of the library. Hermione finally looked up at him, she knew he was drunk yet again. Not wasting her breath on scolding the git, she turned her attention to her son.
"Eltan, honey, it's time for bed. Please go brush your teeth. I will be in your room in just a moment to tuck you in." Hermione murmured lightly to her 5-year-old, running her hand through his almost white hair.
"Yes, mummy." He rushed out of the room, not looking at his dad. Knowing that his dad and his mum were going to fight again. Hoping it wouldn't be as bad as their last fight. Hermione had tried to save him from seeing or hearing the two of them fight, but the boy would find a way to listen in.
"He isn't mine, is he Hermione?" Ron spat angrily, not looking her in the eye. His fists clenched so hard his knuckles were turning white. Hermione looks up at Ron with her brows furrowed. It was always the same fight, nearly every night now for the last month. She would usually just brush him off then he would get physical with her. She has gotten used to the abuse. Knowing now how to cover the bruising.
He knew when she got pregnant there was a possibility that Eltan was not his. Hermione told him that, she never lied to him about it. Only keeping who his father might actually be to herself. He still wanted to be with her at the time, even if he was not. Hermione had known as soon as Eltan was born that he was in fact not Ron's. Bright blonde hair and blue/grey eyes. Hermione had gotten away with telling his family and Harry that blonde hair came from her side of the family and they all accepted that. Ron accepted that. He began questioning her about it more when Eltan turned two. That's when Ron had changed into what he is now.
"I'm not going to continue to have this fight with you Ronald. You've known all this time there was a chance he wasn't yours." Hermione told him matter-of-factly, closing her magazine and standing up from her chair.
Ron began shouting, "You're such a filthy whore. I never should have married you." He flung his wedding ring at her, narrowly missing her face.
Hermione had no tears left for the man in front of her. She had expected this to happen. She had fallen out of love with Ron during their first fight about Eltan. He called her unspeakable names and then forced himself upon her. Claiming he would get her pregnant and they could put Eltan up for adoption. As if that would solve anything. As if Eltan meant absolutely nothing to him. She would never give up her baby. He was her entire world. Ever since then she would place contraceptive charms on herself to make sure it would not happen.
"Do you even know who his father is?" He sneered at her.
"I'm not sure." She whispered easily lying to him and he laughed in her face. She knew who his father was, but she would never tell him. For the fear of him hurting her or worse her child.
"Of course, you don't know. Sluts never know who the father of their children is." Ron seethed, looking at her with disgust. His words no longer phasing her.
This is when she notices the red lipstick on his collar. She smirked at him viciously, "I'm the whore? At least I have been faithful to you."
His grin falters and he realized what she is talking about. He cursed himself for not checking himself over after leaving Astoria's. She pushes passed him and over to her son's room. Eltan looks up and smiles brightly at her, nothing in the world matters more to her than her son. She kisses his forehead softly and tucks his blanket in around him. Smothering his face in kisses as he giggles. Him smiling up at her washes all the negativity away.
"I love you, mummy." He tells her softly as his little eyes close.
"I love you my sweet boy." She whispers to him before standing to turn out the light. She made her way to the bedroom, hoping that Ron has passed out in the library. When she didn't see him in their room she slowly strips out of her clothes, removing her bra and slipping her nighty on. She did not hear him come in, as she lays down on the bed Ronald walks up to her and crawls on top of her.
"Ronald what...what are you doing? Stop." She yells. He smacks her across the face before smashing his mouth against hers. She tried to pull away only for Ronald to put his hand around her neck, squeezing when she tried to wriggle free of him.
"If you know what's best for you and that bastard of yours, you better keep your mouth shut or I'll kill you both," he growls at her.
Hermione looks at the man before her, crying lightly. She does not move, suddenly terrified of the man that was supposed to be her best friend. She can smell the alcohol on him and gags.
"Ron please." She begs him, tears streaming down her face. Her plea fell on deaf ears as he rips off her slip and panties. He painfully pushes her legs apart with one of his knees and shoves himself inside her. Hermione does not make a sound or move at all, much to Ron's displeasure. It felt as if an eternity had passed before he finally finishes and passes out beside Hermione, pulling the crying witch close. She wriggles out of his grasp and quietly makes her way to the bathroom, looking at herself in the mirror. How did everything get this way? How did the loving man she knew turn into this abusive, manipulative monster? She performs a contraceptive charm on her stomach and starts the shower, sitting down and letting the hot water melt away the filth.
She knew one thing; she was getting her and her son out of here and soon. Start a new life, a new healthy life. One full of love and people that would never hurt them. They would be better off without the cynical man lying in her bedroom.
AN: Just a little taste of what is to come. Hope y'all have enjoyed it so far. Cannot wait to continue this journey with you all.
