If there is one level from the entire Spyro series where I felt that more potential could of easily been included in of the level and become one of the best in the entire series rather then just a good level with a few notable flaws here in of the main game design of the level, Colossus from Spyro 2 is easily one of the first levels of such that come to my mind in such about for from the series.

The biggest problem overall of such I had with Colossus and why I have it missing out with in of the top section of levels in the countdown is that aside from a few notable gameplay concepts that first debuted in of the series in of the Colossus level, not much in terms of the overall level design stand out in Colossus making it unique of that compared to that of the many other unique styled gameplay levels there are left to rank on the countdown.

The only real main gameplay concept that takes place of Colossus giving it points of personality in terms of level design is, with of the springboard flying power-up the player is able to use of the like of choice in of the level giving the player to fully explore more and more on Colossus. This while was nice and cool to explore of Colossus, there wasn't much you could do in terms of exploration as this type of power-up was really only needed for a few and far between sections of the level thanks to how most of the main level gameplay sections of the level were easily linked up with one other to get from Point A to Point B with. More use on making the main power-up like gameplay function of Colossus would of been nice as this is really the only thing that help keeps Colossus somewhat unique of that unlike any other level out there in of the Spyro PS1 Trilogy.

Speaking of such, without much of the springboard power-up of use of the game design of the level, there wasn't much in terms of variety taking in place of the level. The main non-springboard gameplay design of Colossus were simple as getting from Point A to Point B to finish in of the level and the enemies of such with of the Yaks and Goats you come across in of the level, are nothing special and easily forgettable to the series overall.

On the plus side, I found the presentation of Colossus to be one of the best out there from Spyro 2. The music is fantastic matching the main style of the level well and I found the Orb like mini-games of Colossus to be very fun. I always found myself coming back and enjoying fun out of the Ice Hockey mini-game of the level back when I was a kid and still from today.

The main gameplay design in Colossus isn't bad, it just felt that overall for me, Colossus could have more potential out there to be more enjoyable of such to play through rather then being a level that plays too safe and easy overall for a Spyro level, especially compared to the other earlier levels of such from Spyro 2. Still problems aside, Colossus was a pretty decent level. I just wished more unique style could of came from the level like of such rather then being again a level that I felt played out too safe and easy for my taste. As such, causes me to have it out of the Top 50 in the countdown.
