Chapter One: Interrupted Happily Ever After
"I wonder if he is okay. He's been gone a while." Connie says as she and Alexis are waiting for Steven near a gem portal.
"I'm sure he'll be back soon. Speaking of there he is now." Alexis says as the gem portal opens up revealing Steven.
"Steven! What took so long?" Connie asks as she hugs Steven.
"The Diamonds. They really want me to move in." Steven says.
"Why?" Alexis asks.
"Because they want to smother me with attention 24/7." Steven says.
"Sounds fun." Connie says as she giggles.
"No it doesn't." Steven says.
"Well I'm glad I got to see you before heading out." Connie says.
"You're really going through with it?" Steven asks as the group goes outside to the balcony.
"Of course. I've always wanted to go to space camp." Connie says.
"But you've literally been to space multiple times. And you've done way cooler stuff than just camp there." Steven says.
"He does have a point there Connie." Alexis says as she looks at Connie.
Connie My parents are doing what they can to support my interests. It's sweet. Plus I get all the freeze-dried ice cream I can eat." Connie says as she goes into the bedroom and grabs her bag.
"That does sound pretty nice." Alexis says.
"But Sadie Killer and the Suspects are playing tonight. Isn't a rock show a little better than space camp?" Steven asks.
"It's maybe equal to space camp. That's my mom. I should get going. Mwah! Okay! Bye!" Connie says as she sees her mom is calling her before she embraces with Steven and kisses his cheek before she turns to leave.
"Tell everyone at space camp that space used to be super scary and dangerous but it's great now!" Steven says as he and Alexis go outside on the balcony as Connie goes out of the house.
"I will!" Connie shouts as she leaves.
"You two are still so cute." Alexis says as she smiles at Steven.
"Alexis come on." Steven says as he blushes.
"Sorry. Can't help myself. Makes me happy seeing others happy." Alexis says as she smiles.
"I get that feeling. Have you ever found anyone yet?" Steven asks as he looks at Alexis.
"Afraid not. Guess no one has really caught my interest yet. Anyway I should go. Bye Steven." Alexis says as she shifts to wolf form and runs off.
*Timeskip*
"Awesome!" A woman says as she and some others are watching Alexis perform tricks in wolf form.
"Cool!" A man say as Alexis balances on a barrel on her back legs.
"There's more where this is from folks. Huh? Uh would you all excuse me for a moment?" Alexis asks as she hears a loud noise and sees something in the sky towards the beach before jumping off the barrel.
"Aww. We wanted to see more tricks." A kid says as Alexis looks at him and smiles reassuringly.
"I'm sorry young one. I gotta go but I promise I'll do more tricks later." Alexis says before she runs off.
*Timeskip*
"You! What have you done to us!?" Steven shouts as Alexis walks into the gems house to find him shaking a pink gem.
"Boop! Now it's your turn!" The pink gem says as she giggles and boops Steven's nose much to Alexis's confusion as she looks at the other gems.
"Uh Steven heard some commotion. What's going on?" Alexis asks confusedly.
"The gems got poofed by this new gem called Spinel and now they don't remember anything. Even worse my powers aren't working. W-W-W-Would you cut that out?! Please?" Steven asks as the pink gem continually acts goofy.
"Hey look! There's more Gems! Let's ask 'em to play." Spinel says excitedly as she looks at the other gems.
"W-Wait a minute. You don't remember?" Steven asks curiously as he looks at Spinel.
"Remember what?" Spinel asks curiously.
*Timeskip*
"That thing looks far worse up close than it does from far away." Alexis says nervously as the group is looking at a giant injector pumping pink fluid into the ground of the lighthouse.
"Wowee! That thing sure is big! You wanna climb it or somethin'?" Spinel asks.
"Wait, wait. Are you serious right now? What about that stuff you said about how I won't stand a chance against your Injector?" Steven asks as he and Alexis look at Spinel.
"I said what now?" Spinel asks as she scratches her head and continues to act goofy as Alexis laughs slightly at her playfullness.
"You really don't remember huh?" Steven asks.
"Why can't they remember anything?" Alexis asks as she looks at Steven.
"She got us with some kind of weapon. It messed all of us up pretty good." Steven says.
"I can tell." Alexis says as lion comes over to the group.
"How 'bout you Lion? Can you make any sense of this? Aww you're no help either. At least I can store this thing in your mane. I can't store things in Lion's mane now?! That's like the easiest thing I do! What do I do? I've got no friends to help me except... Bismuth, Lapis and Peridot! Come on guys! Let's go figure out how to fix this. G-Guys?" Steven asks as he tries to store a weapon in lion's mane but is unable to before he tries to leave only to stop seeing the only ones following him are Alexis and Spinel.
"My Um Greg allow me." Pearl says as she pulls a parasol from her gem and shields Greg from the sun as the others are doing their own thing.
"Ruby? Sapphire?" Steven asks as he looks at Ruby and Sapphire.
"She's not going anywhere with you." Ruby says protectively.
"I do see us following him to the countryside." Sapphire says.
"Never mind! We're going." Ruby says.
"Well that was a fast turn around." Alexis says.
"Come on. We'll see what we can do for now about getting Garnet back." Steven says as Alexis nods.
"Wait. Don't leave me alone with these two!" Greg shouts as he is left with Pearl and Amethyst.
"Just keep an eye on them for now. I'll be back." Steven says as the group leaves.
