"So when Ruby and Sapphire first became Garnet it was Ruby who rushed in to save Sapphire from danger and bam! They fused. So maybe we've gotta create some sort of dangerous situation." Steven says.
"Well what do we have that's deadly and dangerous laying around?" Lapis asks.
"I think we could dig something up! Danger, danger, danger. What have we got? Hmm. No. Aha!" Peridot says as she finds a buzzsaw in some objects.
"A giant pizza cutter?" Steven asks.
"That is one of its functions yes." Peridot says.
"I can't threaten them with this." Steven says.
"Hmm... Here! Now it's much more threatening. Off you go now!" Peridot says as she turns on the device and hands it to Steven.
"Good luck!" Spinel shouts as Steven nervously goes toward Ruby and Sapphire.
"Is this really gonna work?" Alexis asks as the group watches Steven before the group sees Spinel get a hold of the buzzsaw and begins to accidentally destroy nearby structures.
"Hey we just built that!" Bismuth shouts before the group gives alarmed looks seeing Spinel has no control over the device and is running wild with it.
"Whoa here she comes!" Peridot shouts as the group quickly gets out of Spinel's way.
"Spinel!" Steven shouts as he then manages to get Spinel away from the machine only for it to continue causing damage.
"Are you both okay?" Alexis asks as she goes over to Steven and Spinel before the group sees scaffolding beginning to fall as the group dodges falling debris.
"Whoa." Steven says as the group looks at the damage.
"Is it... over?" Spinel asks before the group sees the anvil beginning to fall over Ruby before Steven shields her just in time with his shield only for it to begin cracking.
"No!" Steven shouts as his shield shatters before Sapphire then pushes Ruby out of harm's way causing the two to fuse.
"Huh." Garnet asks as she looks at her body as everyone looks at her in surprise.
"Garnet! Garnet! You're back! Oof! Thank goodness it's you." Steven says happily as he goes to hug Garnet only for her to back away causing him to fall.
"They're back." Alexis says happily.
"W-W-What's going on!?" Garnet asks in alarm.
"Everyone's memories are wiped and my powers are all messed up. We need your help! What should we do Garnet?" Steven asks as he explains the situation.
"I'm sorry but... Do you know me?" Garnet asks as she backs away.
"Good question." Spinel says as everyone gives disappointed looks except for her.
"Her memories aren't back. I guess fusion was only the first piece." Steven says sadly before the group sees Pearl and Greg arrive.
"Attention everyone. Um Greg Universe has arrived." Pearl says.
"Steven! Oh! Have you seen Amethyst?" Greg asks.
"You lost her?" Alexis asks.
"What?! I told you to watch her!" Steven says.
"She must have wandered off while I was wrestling my laundry out of Pearl's hands. Pearl! You don't have to do that. I own a car wash!" Greg says as Pearl washes his van.
"I need to go find Amethyst. Can you watch Garnet?" Steven asks.
"Yeah sure. But it looks like she's doing a pretty good job watching herself." Bismuth says as Garnet is looking at her body and her environment.
"Don't worry Steven. We'll keep an eye on them." Alexis says.
"Thanks!" Steven says as he begins to leave only for Spinel to stop him.
"Don't forget your best friend Spinel!" Spinel shouts.
"Oh right. Spinel you stay here with the others and I'll be... right back." Steven says as Spinel lets go of his hand.
"No!" Spinel shouts angrily.
"O-Okay. But maybe instead you can stay with Alexis. She likes your games and fun an awful lot. Don't you Alexis?" Steven asks nervously as Alexis looks at him.
"Oh uh yeah. I do." Alexis says nervously as she smiles.
"Really?" Spinel asks excitedly as she goes over to Alexis.
"Yeah." Alexis says as Spinel begins happily acting goofy as Steven runs off.
*Timeskip*
"Lapis, Bismuth, Alexis, Peridot!" Steven shouts as he and Amethyst come running over.
"What's the damage?" Amethyst asks.
"Amethyst get away from me. I can't stand to see you all vacant and bereft of personality." Peridot says sadly.
"Yo I'm back you dip." Amethyst says.
"Oh! Well you're just in time for the end of the world! This is no ordinary Injector. Whatever it's leaking into the ground is toxic. Let's get a scan going and see what we're dealing with. Just as I thought. Bio-poison. Pure and uncut. As of this moment the ampule has drained 15.4% of its contents. Meaning the poison is releasing at a destruction rate of 5 cubic meters per hour giving us hmm... 41 hours until the destruction of all organic life on Earth." Peridot says as her robots are examining the injector and hand her a piece of paper.
"All organic life?" Steven asks.
"Yeah. Like all the animals, the plants, the insects. You know... People." Peridot says as Alexis gives a worried look.
"Oh we gotta stop that thing." Alexis says worriedly.
"Oh no... This is what Spinel meant. Your human half won't stand a chance against my Injector. She- She brought this thing here to kill me and now- now it's gonna kill everything else on Earth too?! I've gotta do something!" Steven says as he runs toward the injector.
"No Steven wait!" Bismuth shouts as Steven tries to pull the injector out much to the other's alarm but is unable to before the injector causes a tremor making poison splash out as the ground cracks before Alexis nearly falls in as Spinel grabs her.
"Well look what I reeled in!" Spinel says happily.
"Thanks Spinel." Alexis says as she blushes slightly before Spinel puts her down.
"Steven!" Peridot shouts as the others run over to Steven.
"Are you okay?" Amethyst asks.
"My organic jacket... I can't do anything with my powers like this. Bismuth, Lapis can't you lift that thing? Peridot what about your metal powers?" Steven asks as he looks at the others.
"You think we didn't try that?" Lapis asks.
"Disturbing the injector accelerates the poison's rate of release. Also it might explode. We have to find a way to move it without touching it before it's too late." Peridot says as she holds up her tablet.
"Spinel! She activated it so she must be able to deactivate it. But she doesn't even remember what it is let alone how to control it..." Steven says.
"Then you gotta change her back." Bismuth says.
"No way! She's cute and harmless now but if we bring her back she'll kill us all!" Steven says in alarm.
"You're going to die anyway if you don't get her to deactivate that thing." Peridot says.
"She's right Steven. You got me back. Whatever you did for me just do it for her." Amethyst says.
"That's different. I know you. I don't know anything about Spinel. None of us had even heard of her before! Except... Pearl! Pearl knew her!" Steven says.
