Preston Ward Condra Ranks All 101 Spyro 1-3 Levels

A project I made when I was 15 years old, during my sophomore year in High School in September 2009. I critiqued and ranked every single level from Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage and Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon in, one consolidated project from worst to best. It doesn't matter if you agree with my opinion or not. All that matters, is that this ended up getting finished.

69. 34: Dino Mines

Here we arrive in the countdown with the level alongside tied with Tree Tops is seen by many fans of the series of as quite possibly the hardest level of such from the entire Spyro PS1 Trilogy, Dino Mines from Spyro 3. Dino Mines was a great level because of not only how hard but at the same time how fun the main gameplay functions were of the level but, also with how there were many things to explore in of the level and how highly action packed the level was keeping the player on their toes at all times. Great level overall with nothing really bad problems wise to say major or even minor for overall for Dino Mines, IMO.

My favorite gameplay element that I loved from Dino Mines and as such why I have it ranked this high in of my countdown is with how entertaining and exciting the main level design gameplay is of this level. From start to finish for basically every gameplay element you come in contact in of Dino Mines, you have to plan out careful and quickly timed attacks as the main enemies you come in across of the level use a variety of weapons of mostly gun attacks to trying to take you down in.

This mechanic I felt in of the main level design overall to so and for the enemies, worked well for the main level as each enemy in of the level acts unique so in of the main platform gameplay of Dino Mines as such never gets the main action from ever getting boring and repetitive and this is not a bad thing at any rate since all of these Spyro PS1 levels are known for being very unique and fun and unlike so from any other Platforming Video Game franchise let alone, just one single genre game of so out there.

Another cool element that I loved from Dino Mines is how with multiple unique designs of the level you travel in such as starting at of the level facing off with raged dinosaurs with guns to heading underwater and carefully dodging floating TNT boxes and to timing your skills down careful and just right to get from platform to platform. Variety is a great thing for any Spyro PS1 level out there and as such because so of the high variety and just plain the level was overall, causes me to rank the level so even higher in of my countdown.

Overall, Dino Mines was a great level. I really can't think of anything majorly bad to say for this level and it may be that I am ranking it a tad bit to low on the countdown or due to the fact there are even more fun levels out there left to rank in of the countdown or I am not sure what but overall, Dino Mines was a great level thanks to how original and just plain fun it was, even so for me when I was younger.
