Preston Ward Condra Ranks All 101 Spyro 1-3 Levels

A project I made when I was 15 years old, during my sophomore year in High School in September 2009. I critiqued and ranked every single level from Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage and Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon in, one consolidated project from worst to best. It doesn't matter if you agree with my opinion or not. All that matters, is that this ended up getting finished.

70. 33: Gulp's Overlook

Gulp's Overlook from Spyro 2 was a very great level of such for a main boss fight from all three Spyro PS1 games and certainly one of the overall best boss like battles out there from this classic franchise, IMO thanks to how original and unique the fight with Gulp is in terms of gameplay design of the fight and how it's easy for any Spyro PS1 fan out there to fall in love with how great the serious tone of the presentation is of the level. Not much really bad to say for Gulp's Overlook. A great boss level and as an overall level of such to the series.

The main gameplay function that goes in of the boss battle fight with Gulp is using a variety of so weapons hatched from eggs of that Elora sends to help you in of this fight to attack and eventually kill Gulp in such as rockets, barrels, bombs and the like. These each added own unique and fun elements to face off with for Gulp of this boss fight and it's also added more fun greatly by the fact of how fairly challenging and smart Gulp would interactive with of to the player of this boss fight. Overall, the main gameplay functions in for a boss like fight in so for Gulp's Overlook was fantastic unlike many boss levels I already ranked in of the countdown so far.

One other element I loved from Gulp's Overlook is with the solid presentation of the level. The main music of Gulp's Overlook gives off a serious tone that fits the style of the boss battle with Gulp well and enjoyably surprisingly catchy to listen to and overall IMO, one of the best songs of such from any Spyro PS1 boss battle like out there from this classic franchise.

Thanks to the great gameplay functions of the boss battle with Gulp and great presentation, easily nails Gulp's Overlook from Spyro 2 ranked fairly high in of my countdown and what should a Spyro PS1 boss battle level should be unlike which isn't seen in much from the series overall. Much like the remaining 30 or so levels there are left to rank in of the countdown, I really can't think of anything really minor or major to say for these levels left to rank in the countdown. Overall, Gulp's Overlook as a whole for a boss battle level and as a level overall to the series, was great.
