What better way to kick off the remaining of such 30 Spyro PS1 levels left to rank in of my countdown with no other then of the first real big finale of such a boss level from the Spyro PS1 Trilogy? Gnasty Gnorc earns points for high nostalgic classic moments to fans of the series that completed and beat Gnasty's green butt for the first time and helping bringing in the standard that regardless of what Spyro PS1 game out there, the player is given a decent to great to fantastic final boss level of such to enjoy with and is the case with Gnasty Gnorc being a fantastic and nice semi-ending for a level of the like to Spyro 1.
Great boss level for it's time thanks to how decently unique and high tension wise the battle with Gnasty was and as such earns it at least a spot for ranking highly for in my countdown and should be in for any countdown with to any other Spyro PS1 fan out there.
The main strength and reasons of such of why I have the main boss battle with Gnasty ranked fairly high in of my countdown is how fast paced the main action gameplay can get with during the battle with Gnasty. You start the level off with dodging attacks from his rod and heading around the battlefield finding keys to block down the main platform Gnasty is hiding above you in. When this as such is completed, you chase Gnasty around a dangerous but fun ride around Gnasty's main battlefield of the level being careful as such not falling in the purple acid during the chase. You then chase Gnasty through a passageway in of the battlefield of the stage carefully eventually moving Spyro through platforms that slowly and slowly close up on you then quickly killing him off.
For the main gameplay design I stated in for this boss fight, it may seem boring and bland on paper but, for it's time going for it and even by today's standards if you just play through at least one little section of Gnasty Gnorc, there is enough variety and skill the player must use in of the level to succeed in that even for the most expert Spyro PS1 fans out there, Gnasty Gnorc never gets boring so in this process. It's nice for a boss like level including a decent amount of variety to take in part of in which isn't seen much from the series overall.
Ripto's Arena and Jacques aside which are even more fun boss like levels out there from the series, Gnasty Gnorc was the best main boss like level overall from the series in general with and earns high points for being the first real finale like boss of such to the series and you have to admit that for it's time it was a very unique and fun element to take part of in with a very unique boss fight of the like with Gnasty Gnorc. Pretty fantastic level overall and has easily enough credit where it due in of the level to rank in the Top 30 of such levels in of my countdown.
