For being such of a fairly small level out there for even being smaller in level design size then likely over half of the levels from Spyro 1, Crystal Islands from Spyro 3 was a fine work of art for a small level out there thanks to how a decent amount of variety stands out of the level and how well designed and just as fun the main gameplay design was that the player had to take, control and in part of in of this amazing level. Not only is Crystal Islands one of the best levels out there from Spyro 3 but, easily one of the best levels out there from this classic franchise. A very nice level, IMO.
There were multiple main points out there of why and how I find Crystal Islands to be a very nice level and most importantly, it involves the main gameplay goals in fun ways for the player able to take in part of in. These gameplay main actions include chasing around an egg thief of the level whom is fairly challenging to kill and take down in to the player taking in part of the best optional mini-game out there of Bentley in a knockoff game of Whack-A-Mole. These touches while not full unique out there to the series were most unique out there to the level and were great for what they were for and added more style to Crystal Islands as to the overall level in.
For the main level design for Crystal Islands, the level has a magic like feel out there like so for many other levels out there from this series and Crystal Islands did a nice job so of mixing it up with for the player such as giving you only so little time to advance onwards to certain sections in of the level. I thought this concept worked well in as while as small of a level Crystal Islands appears to be, there were many different things to explore in of the level and that includes not even mentioning the side-quest Dragon Egg mini-games out there of Crystal Islands. These of such include traveling a large amount of well hidden gems in of the level which range from being ranged in different sections of levels in the air of the level that only can be reached within only using the super-fly power up in the level.
As a whole, Crystal Islands was an amazing level as such thanks to how there is more to the gameplay in the level to love in this level that I haven't even mentioned in so far and that is the main presentation of Crystal Islands. I love the night time like magic feel to this level like so with music that is very relaxing fitting the main design of the level overall in.
Crystal Islands was a very nice level overall with nothing of note majorly bad to say and earns points highly ranked in of the countdown thanks to the same fun design notable in place Crystal Islands in so there is to the other 18 Spyro PS1 levels there are left to rank in of the countdown and how there is very nice charm out there in of some of the best presentation out there I have ever seen overall from a Spyro PS1 level.
