Preston Ward Condra Ranks All 101 Spyro 1-3 Levels

A project I made when I was 15 years old, during my sophomore year in High School in September 2009. I critiqued and ranked every single level from Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage and Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon in, one consolidated project from worst to best. It doesn't matter if you agree with my opinion or not. All that matters, is that this ended up getting finished.

88. 15: High Caves

Kicking off our Top 15 of such Spyro PS1 levels remaining left to rank in of the countdown is with an enjoyable, very creative and challenging level from Spyro 1 with of High Caves. Who doesn't remember this level from back in the day and at least any some form of entertainment coming from this level? Thanks to in part of it being one of the more creative, challenging and just plain fun levels out there I have ever played from not only from Spyro 1 but from the overall series in general from Spyro 2 and 3, causes me to rank High Caves high somewhere in the countdown.

In such the biggest gameplay mechanic that follows in of High Caves that make up for it being a beautiful level out there is with a nice and challenging emphasis on the supercharge power-up the player must use in order to succeed in of the level. This allowed multiple ways for the player to get used more on unique ways for the supercharge power-up in not only to High Caves but, to this classic franchise such as using it to point away paths on the level that were challenging and mostly importantly fun to perform such as using it track down time and putting your skills to the test to reach far away hidden gems and for not one but, two hidden egg thief in of the level.

This gameplay element within of High Caves was very creative and never became much of anything frustrating for me during my multiple times playing through of High Caves. Everything gameplay related out there from High Caves even including the spider like enemies you kill within of the level that can only die by the supercharge power-up flowed well with one another and kept the main action from ever getting boring but, fast and enjoyable which can't be said for most Spyro PS1 levels out there.

Not much else to say other then High Caves was truly an amazing and creative level from the fun nature I had within of the main gameplay elements out there from this level to how challenging and in-depth it would later become. Because so, easily ranks this classic and charming level that is High Caves somewhere rewarding high on the countdown.
