Ice Cavern was simply put, an amazing level from beginning to end for me with me enjoying much so much from the level from the great eery and cool ice winter like presentation of the level to a nice variety of gameplay skills you could take in part of the level such as exploring one of the more rather complex levels out there for the time in of a Spyro 1 level in very fun ways and as such earns it easily highly ranked in of my countdown. I love Ice Cavern as much like so for the remaining levels left to rank in the countdown that I sometimes start a new Spyro file over again just to play through, finish in and relieve back memories and the unique gameplay styles of the levels and this is true with so for Ice Cavern.
Ice Cavern ranks this high in of the countdown thanks to how much I love the seer variety going in of the level. The level offers so much action for the player to take in part of in that no matter for me, everything felt fresh and never boring for me.
The fun gameplay varies in different places such as near the beginning in the level, you have a choice of starting the level in normal session from section to section or you can glide near a section near one section of the level and start where the main exit level portal is to exploring in different sections that while were complex to travel in never became a nuisance to the player to explore in and it was nice to explore every single nook and cranny out there from the level such as finding gems on top of poles with you having to be careful in order to collect them in the ice cave sections of this great level.
Ice Cavern also ranks this simply high in of the countdown because I am not sure about anyone else but, I love the cool and calm nature of Ice / Snow levels out there from all three Spyro PS1 games. I love the design and nature the level felt on the player such as keeping the player in a happy nature having fun while playing through of the level yet never having the main gameplay action slow and kept as important and serious at the right times yet fitting the level in. It's a shame there isn't much levels like there from Ice Cavern from this series. Such a lovely place as much as it is overall to play in.
Overall, Ice Cavern was an amazing and fantastic level. It's got everything that you could ask for the perfect package out there for a Spyro level. Great gameplay, great presentation, unique style, classic music, challenging and overall just plain fun and as such earns Ice Cavern a high place in of my countdown and easily one of the best levels out there from all three Spyro PS1 games.
