The epic final showdown that you come against for Ripto in of Spyro 2, was not only the best boss like level I have ever played in the series, but one of the finest boss encounters that I have played in from any Video Game out there.
Thanks to the highly original gameplay mechanics that go in of the level to the classic serious tone of presentation in the level and to it being fairly challenging to complete through in, ranks this level as a level much so I really enjoyed and hold deep in my heart as something I will never forget in thanks to simply how fun I found it to be much like so for the Top 5 Spyro PS1 levels there are left to rank in the countdown. Amazing boss level out there from the series on it's own and as such earns this high ranking in the countdown.
There are so many things going for Ripto's Arena that I really loved about for the battle with Ripto in this level. This includes the main original gameplay elements that were fun and dynamic to the level. In order to defeat Ripto in this boss like battle for the first two sections in of the fight, you have to dodge around Ripto's attacks which are surprisingly challenging to overcome as Ripto acted extremely smart in part of the battle at all times with from start to finish to the fight. In order of such to defeat him, you charge around the main battlefield of the level collecting up to 3 different Orb colored power-ups to use in order to defeat him. Blue Orbs allowed you to supercharge around the battlefield and take down damage to Ripto in the process, Green Orbs allowed you to fire gas like bombs at Ripto and Red Orbs allowed you access to the Super - Flame power-up to use on Ripto.
All of these main gameplay mechanics that took place in of the battle from the nice variety of Orb power-ups the player was able to use in of the level and thanks to Ripto being such a fairly challenging boss to take down in of that to the rest of the boss like battles out there in from all three Spyro PS1 games, make up for easily one of the best levels out there from the series but also remains as one of the finest pure golden achievements of any kind of a level I have ever played in from pretty much every single video game, I currently own and played so far.
There was so much to explore on in the level for such a boss encounter with of Ripto's Arena, giving it more charm out there that I didn't come across in for the other boss like levels in from the Spyro PS1 series. This includes the nice action tone taken in place during your battle with Ripto. Every little gameplay of note runs like dynamite and never one time have I felt that the main gameplay would ever get repetitive or boring. It's also worth noting how the main boss fight is broken down into three main fun mechanics and this includes starting off with Ripto first, to battling with Ripto and a metal like Gulp robot to finally battling Ripto in the sky with the entire battlefield covered in lava. The amount of tension in the level, was breathtaking and extremely fun to mess around in of Ripto's Arena overall in.
No matter how times I go through in of the level, Ripto's Arena NEVER gets boring to me and as such thanks to so much pure and fun gameplay goodness that strikes from every gameplay element and moment out there I have played in the level, ranks Ripto's Arena definitely somewhere high in the countdown and as earns it this high ranking in my countdown as an award and worth so for it.
