I do not own Powerpuff Girls or any of its characters.

Ha ha, yes, this is named after the Katy Perry song (which I'm listening to rn, actually).

I really needed a prompt, hence the title.

Also, the girls are twelve in this.

"Why the heck am I still awake?" Blossom said quietly to herself, as to not wake her sisters. She gently floated out of the center of the bed and landed on the carpeted floor. She went over to a window and looked out.

Why aren't I tired? Insomnia? I never felt like this before, though...

The pink Puff sighed. She heard a soft sound behind her and turned to see Bubbles rubbing her eyes.

"Ah, Blossom...?" she asked quietly. "What are you doing awake at this hour...?"

They both turned to the clock on their wall. It said one thirty-five.

Blossom gave a weak sigh. "I really don't know, Bubbles. I just..." Sigh. "I can't fall asleep. I'm just not tired."

"...Oh..." Bubbles was obviously exhausted, but she wasn't going to just abandon her sister with only her thoughts to talk to.

"Bubbles, you can go back t-"

"Nuh-uh."

"...Hm?"

"No. If you can't get to sleep, I won't let you be alone."

That one simple remark - "I won't let you be alone" - touched Blossom more than anything she'd ever heard before. Tears threatened to prick the young girl's eyes. She held them back.

Bubbles stumbled over to her pink-loving sister. The two sat and stared out the window together.

Eventually Bubbles fell back to sleep, resting her head on Blossom's shoulder. The girl in pink was afraid that if she moved her sister the blue-clad Puff would awaken, but when she tested it by gently moving the arm that Bubbles had her head resting on, nothing happened.

After tucking her sibling back in bed, Blossom went back to the window. The distant lights of the city were beautiful, and the occasional car whizzing past lulled the girl into a dream state. She wasn't exactly asleep, she just wasn't fully awake, either. She could still sense everything going on.

Blossom saw the lights through what seemed like a clouded veil. She could feel herself gently slipping onto the carpeted floor. She could hear her sisters' breathing. Her eyes were open, watching the ceiling. She stayed that way for hours. Not awake, but not asleep, either. It was comforting and awful at the same time. She couldn't think, couldn't even dream. It was almost as though she was dead. Except, she knew what was going on.

The sun started to appear over the clouds, and the darkness that had cloaked everything began to lift.

There were still a few hours left until someone found her like this. Blossom wanted to cry, but her state wouldn't allow her to.

She would be running on no sleep this morning. That will be fun.

Thank you for reading! If you think I should continue this, please let me know. I hope you enjoyed!

P.S. "The Girl in Pink" sounds like a horror movie, lol
