I did a story similar to this for Owl House (just called The Visitor) and wanted to also make a sequel for Amphibia. This takes place a before True Colors when the calamity trio are still in Wartwood.
King Andrias sat on his throne with an almost blank expression. One would assume something is bothering him unaware of what's truly going through his mind. A hidden agenda that would destroy the image of a happy king that has been ruling this kingdom for a very long time. But for now, the newt king will keep this false image up for his people. After all, he's doing this for his people.
And his people matter.
But something else is bothering him. As stated before, king Andrias has been alive for a very long time which many have questioned how he's still alive. Some believe he's on a strict diet and exercises regularly; some believe it's just his genetics. His father lived very long, too.
The point is that being alive for so long has given Andrias experience such as perfectly reading facial expressions to know someone's true feelings and intentions, how to strike up conversations and make himself out to be the good guy, and most importantly: being able to feel something when he's along.
And he feels a presence right at this moment. Not the same feeling he gets when Yunnan or Marcy is approaching him from behind, but a dark presence that feels so unfamiliar, yet he knows it's bad news.
The king straightened himself against his chair and made sure to clear his cloudy throat before he spoke.
"I know you're here. Whoever you are, go ahead and show yourself."
Suddenly, a female wearing mostly black robe with horns on her head stepped out from behind a pillar. In her right hand was a scepter with a golden ball on top and black raven perched on her left shoulder.
"Oh, my. I guess I'm not as quiet as I used to be. Such a shame." she spoke in a tone with heavy sarcasm.
Andrias noticed how human she looked while also not looking human at the same time. Her pale greenish-gray skin and and glowing yellow eyes makes this obvious enough along with her height which is still makes her far shorter than Andrias but is much taller than any human he has seen before (mainly Marcy and Anne...). She even looked a good foot or two taller than Yunan.
"Who and what are you?" King Andrias asked patiently while also looking confused.
The woman wore a small smile that looked very deceitful as she lightly bowed.
"My name is Maleficent, and I'm a dark fairy." she answered.
"Great. Fairies." Andrias groaned in his head, but he still wore a friendly smile.
"A fairy?!" he faked surprise. "Well, that's amazing! If you're here to grant me wishes, then all I wish is for everyone to have a good day."
A small ball of anger bubbled in Maleficent's gut as her raven crowed menacingly. She really hated being viewed as a gift-giving pest like those three annoying fairies back where she's from, but she would hold off on tormenting the king, for now.
"I'm not in the wish-granting business, unfortunately. But I am here to offer you a chance of a lifetime. Something no one in their right minds would pass up."
King Andrias has been sold stuff before which he has refused, but the bad feeling he gets from this fairy tells him all he needs to know. All he has to do is keep playing along.
"Oh no, I'm not interested in buying anything. But I'll be happy to make a donation to whatever business you're offering from!" He smiled wide as he reached behind him to get his wallet.
Maleficent smile strained as she grew annoyed with the amphibian's act of ignorance.
"Playing coy, I see." she spoke softly.
Andrias looked up at her.
"What was that?" he asked.
"If you're acting like this then this means we aren't alone, correct?" she inquired, her head slightly tilting to the side.
King Andrias scowled as he brought out his wallet. "What are you talking about? It's just you and I, unless the cleaning crew is in here."
But Maleficent could see through his words.
"Fine. So be it."
Maleficent raised her left hand as ball of green fire quickly formed on her palm, this made Andrias's eyes go wide.
The mistress cackled as she tossed the fireball at Andrias, but the ball was killed when an armored figure with two sharp claws on her gauntlets jumped out from the roof and sliced it away.
The figure landed in front of Maleficent revealing to be a pink female newt decked out in royal armor with cape and a long-spotted tail behind her. The newt rose up and despite being a bit shorter than Maleficent, she still wore a brave expression as she eyes the fairy.
"Halt, villain! I, General Yunan; Scourge of the Sand Wars; Defeater of Ragnar the Wretched; and the youngest newt to ever achieve the rank of general in the great Newtopian army stands in your way!" she said in pride while Maleficent and her raven weren't amused.
"Aren't you going to tell me what else you've accomplished, or is your ego not big enough?" Maleficent said in a cruel voice.
Yunan gasped in offense. "How dare you!"
"General Yunan!" Andrias greeted. "Thanks for the save, but I have this handled."
Yunan didn't budge. "I respect you, my king. But this fiend is wielding dark magic, and I'm quick enough to avoid her deadly flames! ...No offense to you."
Andrias gave her a friendly smile and spoke in a patient tone.
"Your concern is much appreciated, but I'll be okay. Maleficent and I just have some... business to discuss."
Yunan glanced back at her king and saw his kind expression. She the looked back at Maleficent and saw nothing but darkness in her eyes. And that raven next to her wasn't calming her nerves either.
But she hesitantly obeyed as she sheathed her claws. She faced Andrias and bowed.
"As you wish, my king."
Yunan then turned and walked towards the doors of the throne room. Not too quickly, but a good enough pace in case the fairy wanted to pull a dirty trick with her back turned.
Speaking of which: Either out of boredom or because she just felt like it, Maleficent decided to stir the pot by insulting the general.
"Yes, go shed your slimy skin and fry under the sun, you ugly creature." she said with a sly grin as her raven cawed in laughter.
Andrias was shocked by Maleficent's words as Yunan quickly turned back, facing her with a hate-filled glare and a vein pulsing on her head.
"WHY YOU!" Yunan screamed as she raced at Maleficent.
"Yunan, no!" Andrias yelled, getting up from his throne.
General Yunan leaped into the air and was coming in hot on Maleficent who was smiling at her, clearly taunting the newt.
"Now." the mistress of evil said simply.
Suddenly, Yunan's attack was quickly interrupted as she felt her side getting punched at full force causing her to fly off her course and land hard on her stomach. She heard heavy footsteps quickly approaching and only managed to flip onto her back as a huge shoe slammed down on her chest, knocking the breath out of her.
She looked up and through her blurry vision made out a rotund cat thing with black fur and big white eyes. But what got her attention the most was his armored suit which had different shades of blue along with some red and black, two large pockets on each side of the armor, and a comically huge zipper on the front of his pants.
The cat looked down at Yunan with a cruel look.
"Woah, take it easy lady. I can't just have you messing with my boss like that." he said as the weight of his shoe on Yunan increased.
"Andrias, Yunan. I would like you to meet my emissary, Pete."
Pete looked up at King Andrias and nodded to him.
"How's it goin', king? Nice place ya got here."
While Pete was distracted, Yunan used her free hand to slash his leg with her claw. Pete shouted in pain and stepped off on the general.
Yunan tried to stand; she stumbled at first but got to her feet. Her breathing was heavy and uneven.
Pete recovered from the stinging pain and glared hatefully at her.
"Well, looks like you now take the number 2 spot of my 'People I hate' list, with number one being a certain mouse."
Pete rushed at Yunan with a shoulder slam, but the newt had enough strength to leap aside and dodge Pete. As his back was facing her, Yunan swiped her blades at his back making Pete scream again in pain.
He looked at her with fury.
"That's it! I'm gonna beat your head like a drum!" Pete roared and rushed at Yunan who tried to jump out the way again but this time one of her legs was grabbed by Pete. He forcefully pulled the general at him and wrapped one of his thick arms around her neck, lifting her off her feet and putting her into a chokehold.
Yunan knows she can fight better than this, but she has yet to fully recover from the blow to her side. Plus, this Pete guy was very strong despite his roundness. The general attempted to escape by kicking Pete from behind. She kept striking his legs which was beginning to sting, but the cat was more focused on making sure her metal claws made no contact with his face.
Andrias' fists balled in anger as he stood above Pete.
"Stop this NOW!" he roared loudly as he reached behind him and grabbed his sword hilt and unleashed the retractable sword made of fire. He aimed the blade close to Pete, just mere inches against his face.
It's no secret to most that Pete is a coward and would run off at the first sight of danger. Pretty much everyone in Disney Town knew this, but he fought as hard as he could to look brave in the face of danger. Not only to show the newt king that he wasn't scared, but to also show Maleficent that he isn't completely worthless.
General Yunan gave her king a toothy grin.
"That's it, my king! Show this ignorant piece of trash your awesome might!" she cheered.
To be honest, things were happening quickly. Andrias unsheathed his blade to help his loyal friend and didn't regret it, but he didn't know what would come next if he acted.
As if she read his mind, Maleficent casually stepped next to the king and addressed him.
"There's no need for such barbaric actions. Pete was just doing his job. And as much as I would love to see this weapon at work, I'd advise that you lower your blade away from his face so we can finally speak about why I'm here in the first place." said the mistress of evil as she noticed the droplets of sweat dripping down Pete's face. Either it was because of how scared he is or the heat from the blade, he was sweating so much it looked like he could water an entire garden.
"I'll lower my weapon after your lackey releases my general." Andrias spoke defiantly.
"Lackey?!" Pete said angrily but immediately stopped once he saw Maleficent giving him the side eye.
"Fine. I'll call him off. But you must also inform YOUR lackey to not try and attack me again." Maleficent added.
"Don't do it, my king! We can take them together." Yunan pleaded as she struggled against Pete's hold.
Andrias took a moment to think about this, but Maleficent didn't like her time being wasted.
"A battle of two versus one doesn't seem fair to me. If you and your general choose to fight Pete, then I would have to assist him." Maleficent explained in an eerie calmness.
Andrias didn't reply. He still stood there with his sword drawn.
Maleficent saw this and looked up at him. It wasn't long before Andrias' eyes finally met hers.
"Mark my words, Andrias. You really don't want to have me as an enemy." she warned, her eyes seeming to glow brighter.
Andrias knew that the fairy's threat isn't to be taken lightly, and the last thing he needs right now is someone coming along to screw things up especially since he's so close to achieving his lifelong goal.
Andrias looked back down at Yunan whose expression was practically begging for him to strike Pete down. But he'd have to disappoint her.
Sighing, Andrias retracted his blade and hooked the hilt back onto his belt much to Yunan's shock and Pete's delight.
"Haha! I guess your blue king is really yellow underneath." Pete laughed as if he wasn't internally crying for his mommy only seconds ago.
"Pete." Maleficent said simply which was enough to send a shiver down his spine.
Without even looking at her, Pete already knew what his boss wanted without being told; and he knew he shouldn't delay on following her command or else she'll try to feed him to Cerberus in the underworld... again.
Pete released Yunan from his hold and stood in place, waiting for his next order.
Yunan was finally able to fully catch her breath and quickly stretched her arms, now it was time for revenge. The general quickly spun around and threw a fist at Pete's face, but before her fist could collide, she was stopped by Andrias' booming voice.
"Yunan. Cease your attack." he ordered.
She wanted to argue her case, but she also didn't want to disappoint her king. He was a good guy after all!
The general lowered her fist.
"Yes, my king." she obeyed with a hush tone.
Seeing how things have finally calmed down to her liking, Maleficent spoke to Pete.
"Pete. You and the newt step outside so the king and I can discuss business. I'll fetch you when we are through here." she instructed.
Pete nodded and headed towards the big doors leading out of the throne, but Yunan stayed with a defiant stance.
"I won't leave my king alone with the likes of you." she growled, glaring at Maleficent who glared back.
"Go, Yunan." Andrias ordered in a low, gentle tone.
Yunan, shocked, looked at her king and was about to argue until she saw his expression. It wasn't stern or a warning for her to do what he says, but a face asking her to trust him.
The general silently complied. She bowed at Andrias and glared one more dagger at Maleficent who wore a smug grin as the general walked off with Pete.
Yunan caught up with Pete who was almost at the exit. The hostility in the air was painfully thick.
"I see you have yet to make it to the doors. What's wrong? Exercise too much for you?" she fired.
Pete chuckled at the insult. This lady was really digging herself deeper.
"Nah. I just wanted to give you a chance to catch up. Y'know, so your king won't see me best you for a second time." Pete retorted.
Yunan clinched her teeth.
"Just wait until these doors close behind us and we'll see who bests who this time." The general challenged.
Pete laughed again as he grabbed the handle of one door and Yunan did the other.
"In a few seconds, I'll knock the scales right off of ya!"
Now finally alone and the assistants are doing their own thing, Maleficent can finally get to work.
"You can now drop your little act." said Maleficent as she reached up and gently stroked the neck of her raven who was enjoying the feeling.
Andrias scowled. "What are you talking about, fairy?"
Maleficent laughed amusingly.
"Don't play dumb with me. You and I are the same."
"Really? I think there are some huge differences between us." Andrias joked.
Maleficent didn't allow Andrias' games get to her. She knew how to crack an egg.
"Jest all you want, but it's true. One thing we both admire most in the world is total power and control. Complete domination over other worlds."
Andrias felt a lump form in his throat. He has found it easy to hide the truth from others over the years, but then again no one has ever come so close to the truth, especially so accurately.
He tried to hide his nervousness, but Maleficent quickly noticed his break in expression. She had him now.
"M-Maleficent. You must have the wrong king. I love my people, so why try and rule over other worlds by force." he tried to lie.
But Maleficent is no fool. She slowly walked towards a nearby tapestry as King Andrias went on about how wrong she is. Once she was there, she grabbed it with both hands and tore it down with one pull, revealing a tapestry behind it which depicted what looked like Andrias standing above a burning city with his castle floating above it with rockets. The mural also shown Andrias in the possession of a box with three colored gemstones and around him was six red eyes.
All-in-all, Andrias shut his mouth as he knew the jig was up. He saw Maleficent once again wearing a smug smile on her face.
"Well, isn't this a lovely mural. Does Yunan and the citizens of your kingdom know of it? I'd assume not since it was hidden, so maybe I should go fetch your general-"
"Wait!" Andrias stopped her much to her delight.
"What is it you want with me." he surrendered sitting back on his throne.
Finally getting what she wants, Maleficent stands before Andrias with her wonderful news.
"I wasn't lying when I said you and I have a common goal. We both want to rule, but your plan is on a far smaller scale."
Maleficent walked back to the mural as Andrias listened.
"If I'm assuming correctly, you want to take over the human world, right?" she asked knowingly which Andrias' narrowed eyes confirmed.
"While that's all well and good, why stop there? What if you had a chance to rule over countless other worlds!" she proposed.
"Tell me, King Andrias... have you ever heard of the Kingdom Hearts?"
Andrias was silent for a moment.
"No." he replied deeply.
Maleficent nodded. "Not surprising. Many haven't as well. Kingdom Hearts is the heart of all worlds."
She looked up at Andrias. "To put it simply: You rule Kingdom Hearts; you'll rule everything."
Andrias thought about what he was just told. It sounds interesting, but he needs more information before he gives his final answer.
"So you're saying my world, all of Amphibia is connected to this kingdom hearts?" he asked.
Maleficent nodded
"See! You're learning. And your world, just like the rest, are connected by one simple thing. That being-"
"A keyhole." Andrias finished.
For once during this entire time, Maleficent's stoic demeanor was broken as she looked at the king with surprise. Her yellow eyes now wide open and her mouth slightly agape. Andrias took pride in this briefly.
"How do you know?" she asks, too stunned to think of anything else, but she attempted to regain her original composure.
"I once read about it in a very old book that was created centuries ago when my earlier ancestors were still building this kingdom. I was a child at the time but recall reading a small passage about a world keyhole and how it's connected to something greater, but the page was too old and worn to make out the rest." he explained.
Maleficent's look of surprise soon faded back to her stoic expression. Andrias continued.
"Though honestly, I thought it was just a legend, a story for children. Until now that is." he chuckled
"And where is this book now?" Maleficent asked, interested.
Andrias shrugged at the question. He tapped his chin as if he was truly thinking about its location.
"That was a very long time ago when I read it. It's either stored somewhere in the royal library, or maybe it's sitting inside a random desk somewhere in the castle, or it got so old that it finally broke down and faded into dust." he answered nonchalantly.
"How disappointing." Maleficent groaned. That book might've been useful if this idiot king had kept track of it.
"Back to my original point. My goal is to find the kingdom hearts and finally achieve my ultimate victory. But as embarrassing as it is to admit it, I can't do it alone."
"Ah, so this is a recruitment thing?" Andrias said with a knowing look.
Maleficent replied with a nod.
"Yes. But only those who are strong, wise, and won't let anything stand in their way! And my council could use a new member like you."
Andrias focused on the word council and how Maleficent implied there are already other members on board.
"Who else is in this council of yours?" he interrogated.
Maleficent looked aside with a wave of her hand, showing disinterest in the question.
"Oh, not much; A sea witch, a pirate captain, the Greek god of the Underworld. Just to name a few, but I won't bore you with the details.
Andrias wasn't fully amused by the roster he has heard so far but hearing of a Greek god did pique his interest.
"Sounds like you have quite a strong team. But why choose me?"
"Other than our similar interests? The fact that everyone has something to offer, including you. And the importance of strength in numbers."
Andrias sighed.
"Now I get it. You want my army to assist you."
Maleficent pursed her lips.
"Hmmm not quite. While I'm sure you have a very strong and durable army, but they are limited by exhaustion and hunger and can only fight for so long. And multiple delays are not something I can afford. So I believe a substitute is in order!" she explained.
"Which is?" his eyes narrowed.
Maleficent looked up to Andrias with a knowing smile.
"Please, Andrias. No need to play the fool right now." she snarked as she stepped closer to the king.
"I know about your little robots." she revealed.
Andrias's stony expression turned to one of shock.
"H-How did you-" he struggled to say.
"I always do my research before confronting a potential ally, or enemy." she glared up at him.
"I also found that thing connected to wires hidden deep under the castle. I have no clue what it is, but by how all those eyes looked at me, I knew it was alive."
Maleficent took a small moment to relish in Andrias' discomfort.
"Now tell me, will that thing downstairs play nice with us?" she asked, still amused.
Andrias quietly gulped and composed himself.
"No, it won't. It only wants conquest for itself only." he answered, looking away.
Maleficent's grin lowered.
"Such a shame. I guess it'll have to stay down there then, but your robots..."
Maleficent suddenly stopped speaking and stared dead ahead to wherever she was looking. This confused Andrias at first.
He looked to where she was looking and saw nothing, yet she remained still.
"Do all fairies just randomly freeze up?" he asked himself.
He was about to get up and check on her before the dark fairy in question began to laugh loudly which made the king jump back.
"HAHA! Oh, silly me. I've forgotten to tell you why your robots would be useful for our cause." Maleficent laughed.
Andrias stared at her as if she's crazy, and usually she would turn someone into stone for even daring to look at her like that, but she allowed it to slide.
"Though there are many obstacles on our road to greatness, there is one boy who's been a rather annoying obstacle to our plans."
Maleficent summoned a thick cloud of green smoke that surrounded her briefly and floated in front of her as if it had a mind of its own. The cloud clumped together, taking shape of a young human boy with impossibly spikey hair and an odd choice for a wardrobe (Andrias wanted to know why his shoes were so big). And clenched in the boy's right hand is a giant key that kinda looks like it can be used as a blunt weapon.
"His name is Sora. And despite his young age and above all being a mortal, he has been a thorn in our side for quite a while. And it's all because of that weapon he wields."
Maleficent pointed at the giant key.
"It does look like it'll hurt being hit by that thing. Why would he need such a large key anyways?" Andrias questioned.
"That is what's called a keyblade, and it's more than a 'giant key'. It possesses great magical properties and can be used for combat and to seal any keyhole in all worlds. Speaking of which: you wouldn't happen to know where this world's keyhole is, would you?" Maleficent asked with a side glance.
Andrias shook his head.
"I thought it was a legend, so why would I bother searching for something that I didn't know existed?" he defended.
Maleficent looked at him with an unimpressed stare.
"Shame." she said in a belittling way which made Andrias' patience.
"Sora is also accompanied by a brain-dead knight and a mage who can't keep his temper in check."
The image of Sora fades as the green cloud split into two, creating two new shapes with one tall and slender and the other being short and round.
The first was an anthropomorphic dog carrying a shield. His buck teeth and outright goofy look really drove the "brain-dead" comment home. The second was a white duck carrying a mage staff and wearing a very tacky blue suit and hat.
"These two serve under their king, a pesky mouse. Though despite their incompetence, both have managed to survive this long even without the boy."
A mouse for a king? Now that sounds too silly to be true for Andrias. Then again, he's a giant newt.
"It can also destroy beings called Heartless." Maleficent continued. She knew Andrias was about to question what they were, so she beat him to the punch.
"Heartless are creatures made of darkness who come in a variety of shapes and sizes with different abilities. They only come when someone loses their heart to the darkness. Though usually mindless and are ready to attack anyone like wild animals, they can be controlled by those who are strong willed."
She then smirked at Andrias. "You are strong willed, aren't you?" she asked teasingly.
Andrias didn't laugh, but Maleficent could care less.
"Luckily, I know how to control the heartless, and I'll happily tell you only after you agree to join and supply us with your machines."
The newt king knew the Frobots would be brought up again to be used for the fairy's endeavors, but other than the amount of distrust he holds against her, it's also a very bad time for him to sacrifice any frobots.
Andrias gave Maleficent a patient smile.
"As sure as I am that the frobots will be of great use to you and the council, I unfortunately can't lend any away at the moment."
Andrias saw Maleficent's narrowed eyes glaring at him, but he continued anyways.
"You see, I need them all in order to eliminate any potential resistance to my rule. And I can't risk anything going awry because I'm one bot or more short. You get what I mean?" he explained in the most faux friendly tone he could force.
Though Maleficent saw through the king's friendly tricks. He might've had everyone here fooled by his lies for years, but she can read him like a book.
"You don't trust me. Is that it?" Maleficent asked, already knowing the answer.
King Andrias's smile lowered just a bit before his entire expression morphed into a cold, stoic glare. And Maleficent didn't know if it's just where she's standing, but he suddenly looked more massive than he had in the last few minutes.
A look fit for a king.
"No." he replied, his voice now sounding more deeper, serious, and threatening.
A small smile curled on Maleficent's lips. She was liking the real Andrias.
The towering monarch's eyes peered down to Maleficent, a hateful sneer as visible as the sky.
"I've lived a very long time, fairy. Far longer than you've been terrorizing the weak and defenseless-"
Maleficent smirked. She wanted to push her luck by verbally doubting that claim, but she also wants to see where this imbecile was going with this.
"Even before you showed yourself to me, I had a feeling that something dark and evil was near."
Maleficent smiled proudly.
"And just by the look at you I can tell that you have no honor or loyalty to anyone but yourself. I know I'm not a saint, but my goal aligns with the future of my people and my kingdom."
The mistress of evil was now bored. Maybe she should just kill this abomination and move on to the next world? Maybe.
"Your smooth words and empty promises of greatness might've tricked the others who have joined this council, but I know a liar when I see one." Andrias finished, his eyes never leaving the fairy for a second.
Maleficent was busy inspecting her staff as her index finger caressed the golden round ball on top, a look on her face gave the impression that Andrias' words didn't interest her at all.
"So... I'm assuming you don't want to join then?" she scowled at the king.
King Andrias leaned forward and cupped his giant hands. His eyes still narrowed at the vile being in front of him.
"So tell me, Maleficent. Let's say I agree to join and help you find and obtain the kingdom hearts. Then what?" he interrogated.
Maleficent's eyes shifted left and right as if she just heard the stupidest question ever.
"Then you'll be given your own set of worlds to rule over. There's enough to share." she replied.
"Oh, really? I can get any world to keep as my own. As much as I please?" he asked.
"I can't guarantee any world is yours. Ursula wants worlds with lots of water; Hook wants worlds with plenty of treasure to loot, and Jafar... well, he just wants worlds where he can simply rule over."
Andrias didn't care about what the other members of the council wanted let alone their names, but he still has the conversation going where he wants it.
"Alright, so let's say everyone gets their worlds to rule, but one day this Jafar wants more worlds for himself and tries to forcefully take more from Hook or Ursula. Should the others sacrifice their number of worlds so he can have more, or should he be happy with what he has already?"
"Where are you heading with this?" Maleficent groaned, becoming annoyed.
Andrias continued.
"I mean, who's to say he can't take more worlds? What if I wanted more than what I've been given? I should be free to take what I please because I'm the one who supplied the frobots that led to our victory!"
Before Maleficent could begin to reply, Andrias leaned forward a bit more to where his head almost hovered over her.
"And what about you, fairy?"
Malefient scowled.
"You're apparently the leader of the council, so what if you decided that all worlds shall be yours to rule over instead. What if the members of the council refuse to give you more? Will you turn against your allies who fought by your side? And if you eliminate one then those to say everyone else isn't next? Did you even intend to share in the first place?"
With that, King Andrias slowly stood up from his chair. He towered over Maleficent with his incredible size and glared down at her like the ant she is.
"Will you end up betraying me, Maleficent?" he asked, balling his hands into fists.
Though anyone else would feel a twinge of fear, Maleficent felt unthreatened by Andrias and his attempts to intimidate her. Actually, she almost felt the urge to laugh to his face.
"I'm beginning to assume you don't want a place in my council. But let me warn you about something before you give me your final answer." Maleficent began.
Andrias stood there, listening.
"Before coming here, I visited a realm where all the inhabitants resided on the decayed remains of a dead titan laying in the middle of a boiling sea. I felt that the land was rich in magic, and ruling was an emperor who has severe trust issues. He refused despite my pleas which I'm sure he now regrets, because I have a strong feeling that Sora has already encountered and defeated him."
"This emperor sounds like he made a good choice regardless." Andrias snarked.
Maleficent's eye twitched annoyance as a tight frown on her face made Andrias wear a big toothy grin, felt good when the tables were turned.
The mistress calmed herself. She wasn't ready to throw in the towel just yet.
"Ok, how about I do something for you to prove you can trust me?" she asked.
"Such as?" Andrias raised an eyebrow.
A sinister smile formed on the dark fairy's face.
"I'm sure you're aware of those three humans who are currently stuck this realm, correct?" she questioned.
Andrias felt his heart skip a beat. His stony expression almost cracked but he avoided it just in time.
"Yes." he nodded.
"Now I know they might not seem like such a threat to your quest for power, but I know from experience that humans can be quite bothersome and can easily get in the way." Maleficent continued, her grin growing wider.
"What's your point?" Andrias questioned suspiciously.
Maleficent placed a hand on her chest.
"Allow me to eliminate them for you!" she revealed.
Andrias's eyes partially widened.
"I know they are at this moment residing in a backwater farming community filled with talking frogs."
"Wartwood." Andrias muttered which Maleficent heard clearly.
"Just give me your word and I'll head down this Wartwood and wipe them off the face of this world forever! They're all distracted by some pointless music competition, so they won't be expecting me. And by doing this, you will see that I can make your troubles disappear."
The king didn't reply immediately which Maleficent took as a chance to continue speaking.
"I should also warn you that I defend myself whenever someone attacks me, so you might lose a few subjects if they are brave and stupid enough to get in my way."
Still, Andrias was silent as Maleficent assumed he was contemplating her offer.
"It would be wise to give me your permission. As much as I hate to admit this, humans can't be underestimated. There's also something odd about the human whom everyone calls Anne. I feel like she will be a big nuisance if she is allowed to remain alive any longer."
Finally, Andrias calmly sat back down on his throne.
"No." he said simply.
"Oh, perhaps you want to take them out together?" Maleficent asked.
"I meant you'll lay no hand on the humans, nor will I join your deceitful council." Andrias growled.
Suddenly, Maleficent was surprised that someone like Andrias would deny her and refuse to partake on the greatest chance that only comes in a lifetime. Then she felt anger that she came all the way here for nothing. The urge to skin Andrias alive and make a carpet out of his flesh arose within, but Maleficent buried it all.
She had one last idea...
"I tried giving you a chance. But now you leave me with no choice!" Maleficent shouted at the king.
"You join, or I'll show everyone in this primitive, forgettable kingdom the kind of king you really are!" she threatened, gesturing at the mural behind her.
This is where Maleficent expected Andrias to break down and beg her to keep the truth a secret while on his knees. He would be at her mercy!
...
But instead, he leaned back in laughed.
"Blackmail? That's where your endgame?" he cackled.
Maleficent stared in confusion. She didn't expect this.
"B-Blackma-AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
The giant king laughed loudly at the fairy's expense.
He finally stopped and calmed down half a minute later. He fixed his posture and cleared his throat, wearing a satisfied yet smug grin.
"Do you really think anyone would believe you over I, their king?"
Maleficent attempted to speak, but Andrias stopped her.
"Y'know, I knew you're manipulative and cunning, but I didn't know you were also stupid." he chuckled.
Maleficent took great offense to that. And that was taking it lightly.
"Remember when I said loyalty earlier? Well, loyalty has caused the people to trust me. They wouldn't think I would have any secret intentions deep within." Andrias said in an innocent tone, mocking Maleficent.
"So go ahead, tell everyone. But will they believe an evil fairy with dark magic at her side, or their benevolent king? General Yunan stopped your fireball from hitting me earlier, so she'll tell everyone that you attacked me. And that mural? Hehe... You simply used your magic to make that in order to frame me."
Maleficent knew she was beaten, but she won't admit it. Burning rage boiled in her gut yet again. She wanted to set fire to the king, burning him alive and feeding his remains to her minions back at her castle. But a better idea came to mind: since he doesn't want to join, he can suffer the consequences.
Maleficent simply smiled, unbothered by this.
"Fine. You convinced me and I can tell I'm no longer welcome. I will be leaving now." she announced.
"Good riddance." Andrias groaned.
Maleficent raised a finger which caught his attention.
"But I must warn you that it won't be long before the Heartless find their way here. And since you're not on my side, you'll have no protection against them."
"I'm sure they'll be no trouble for me." Andrias said passively.
"Oh, that may be so. But where there's heartless, Sora and his two companions will be right behind them. Just make sure you keep your true colors hidden from the boy, because he knows how to use the keyblade against people like us." Maleficent reminded, putting heavy emphasis on the final three words.
"Then I'll get rid of him as well. Now weren't you leaving?" he asked, now annoyed.
Maleficent acted hurt by this.
"Such impatience!" she pouted before beginning to walk off, then a confident smile grew on her.
She felt like revealing to Andrias that she was originally planning on offering General Grime a place on her council instead of him; that would've made his heart race. But it was unfortunate for Maleficent to find out that the old toad has made friends with a blonde-haired female teen, so he would've been of no use anyways.
"I'll return soon, however. Given how ruthless and merciless the heartless can be, I doubt there will be a kingdom left. And they always go for the bigger target too,"
Maleficent took one last look at Andrias, an evil smirk for her expression as Andrias looked back in disgust.
"Well, someone will have to keep your throne company when you're gone."
The Mistress of Evil finally walked off towards the throne room doors as her raven gave one last glare to Andrias. The king in question proceeded to silently stood up when she was a good distance away.
Maleficent grabbed the door's handled and spoke.
"Pete. We're leaving. I hope you stomped that general and-"
Maleficent opened the doors and instead of seeing ruins and all-out carnage like she expected, she was instead met with the sight of Pete and Yunan sitting on the floor across from each other, talking and laughing like good friends as if they weren't ready to tear each other's heads off minutes ago. This greatly disgusted Maleficent.
Pete leaned back and howled with laughter.
"OH-HOHO! You really showed that Ragnar guy what's what!" he laughed.
Yunan chuckled as she reached over and lightly bumped Pete's arm.
"I really wish he would turn up again so you can fight him this time. I'm sure your great strength can have him begging for his mommy!"
Pete looked away with a blush as he waved his hand at Yunan.
"Oh, don't butter me up. I'm strong, but not Yunan-strong." he giggled.
Yunan looked straight into Pete's eyes.
"Pete the Cat. You're equal to me in strength. Never forget that." she spoke lightly, causing Pete to smile warmly.
But the talk between friends was cut short when both jumped at the sound of Maleficent loudly clearing her throat.
Pete's fur stood straight up as he jumped to his feet and saluted.
"Ready for duty, boss!" he announced.
Maleficent glared coldly at him.
"Making friends, I see." she said through grit teeth.
Pete gulped, but Yunan cut in.
"You got yourself an amazing emissary. We were about to continue our fight until we found out how much in common we have!" The general's smile then dropped.
"I still don't like you, but Pete's great!" Yunan added, standing up as well.
Maleficent narrowed her eyes at Yunan and them rolled them at her. She wasn't in the mood for a servant to talk up to her.
"Say goodbye to your friend, Pete. We're done here." Maleficent said sternly before walking past the two down the hallway.
Pete followed, but not before saying his goodbyes to Yunan.
"By Yuns. Say hi to your lady friend for me!" Pete said.
Yunan waved at him.
"And I hope you clobber your mouse foe. Whoever he is." she said.
Pete nodded before running next up to Maleficent.
"So how did things go? Big guy with us?" Pete asked, catching his breath.
"No." she replied coldly.
Pete's jaw dropped.
"What?! He's just like that rotten Belos chump. What made him decline?" he asked.
Maleficent didn't answer immediately, but she soon did with venom dripping from her tone.
"Let's just say that King Andrias better hope that the heartless ends him, because I will whenever I return!" she growled angrily.
"Oh." Pete twiddled his fingers.
"Something on your mind?" she asked, uncaring. But Pete still answered,
"Yeah. On the topic of returning, now I'm just spitballin', but after we do obtain kingdom hearts, crush the heroes, and purge all worlds into darkness, could we come back for a visit."
Maleficent continued to stare straight ahead, awaiting what braindead thing Pete was about to say.
"Why would I do that?" she asked, uninterested.
Pete rubbed the back of his head.
"Well, Yunan might've invited me to her and her lady friend's future wedding. And I was wondering if I could attend. If that's ok with you!" he said quickly.
Maleficent stopped in place.
Pete froze and looked at her in fear only to see that her eyes were closed. Pete didn't know what was going on, but he could tell that she wasn't in the best of moods.
Maybe he should've saved this for when she was in a better mood... whenever that is.
After what felt like whatever, Maleficent's yellow eyes finally reopened. She didn't look angry, but she also didn't smile.
"Whenever I finally have what I want and you stop disappointing me, then I might consider it. That is if that newt survives what's to come." Maleficent replied as she waved her scepter and manifested a dark purple portal.
Pete felt some hope. Usually, he's given a big fat NO, gets insulted, and is instructed to get back to work. But now it looks like the boss is finally warming up to him!
He hopes he doesn't mess it up!
Pete followed Maleficent into the portal in search of the next world, leaving Amphibia behind.
General Yunan ran into the throne room at full speed.
"My King! King Andrias!" she called, worried out of her mind.
She didn't see him on his throne which caused many dark explanations to fill her mind. If Andrias is dead, then Maleficent better hopes she never finds her.
"Over here." Andrias called.
Yunan followed the voice and sighed in relief when she found her king alive and well, hooking the tapestry on the wall.
"That rude lady tore down my favorite tapestry." he said innocently.
"What did that crazy witch want with you?" she asked.
Andrias finished up with the tapestry and put his hands behind his back before smiling down at Yunan.
"Oh, she was just a very aggressive door-to-door saleswoman. She wanted to sell me some very ugly curtains." he laughed.
"That's all?" Yunan asked internally.
"She won't be returning though. But I will report her to her manager!" he said sternly.
Yunan lowered her guard. This seems very underwhelming and maybe a bit fishy, but if king Andrias said it then it must be true!
"Say, Yunan. Today has been a long day for both of us. Why don't you take off for the night and go to dinner with Lady Olivia?" Andrias offered, giving her a friendly smile.
A light blush formed on Yunan's cheeks.
"Are you sure? Don't you want me here?" she asked.
Andries denied as he shook his head.
"Nope. I'll be fine here. Now hurry before Olivia decides to spend her night reading a book instead of being with you."
Needing no more questions, general Yunan saluted and ran to the exit.
"Close the door on your way out, please!" Andrias called out quickly which Yunan did as she left.
Now actually alone, King Andrias' smile dropped into a grimmer look as he sat back down on his throne.
He knew he made the right choice denying Maleficent's offer because she definitely would've stabbed him in the back when she saw fit. Then again, he would've done the same to her.
But this kingdom hearts intrigues him far too much to ignore. He knows he couldn't have it for himself if he joined that council, so that leaves another possibility...
The Calamity Box.
It's with Marcy and her friends. Maybe he could find a way to use it to travel to other worlds... after he conquers the human world, of course.
But these heartless and that Sora kid also sounds like trouble. But maybe he could keep up the act and befriend Sora like he did to the others, thus making the boy take him to other worlds willingly? But then that would make him avoid enacting the plan he has worked so hard on for a very long time.
So many choices and possibilities. But maybe as long as he has the box, then traveling will be no trouble.
Then there's one last thing... Marcy.
The human he has grown close to for months. Marcy is his friend, almost like a daughter to him. He hopes she can be convinced to join him, but he also highly doubts that will happen.
He likes Marcy, but unfortunately, he will do what he needs to achieve is goal, even if it means stabbing her in the back.
A few hours later, King Andrias makes his way down to the castle's basement where the Core is located. He knows the hive mind will have many questions about who their mysterious visitor was and how she found them. He'll tell them everything, including what he had learned about Kingdom Hearts and other worlds.
The Core will be very pleased to know about all of this, and how an infinite number of worlds will be under the control of the Newtopian kingdom. And with the three humans returning to the kingdom very soon with the calamity box in tow, earth will just be the beginning.
The End
I hope you all enjoyed this. And if you did, then you'll be happy to know that I have one more chapter for this planned, but probably not in a way most of you are expecting.
As for a third part, I've been throwing some ideas around Maleficent visiting other Disney TVA shows; three being Gravity Falls (Bill Cipher), Star vs The Forces of Evil (Toffee), and The Ghost and Molly McGee (Ghost Council/Chairman). The thing is I don't want to spend the next three stories having Maleficent say the same things seen here. I have a good idea of how to go about Gravity Falls and TGAMM, but SVTFOE might take a big longer given I haven't watched the full show yet and I want to get Toffee down correctly.
Which of these three potential stories would you like to see done next?
