Sorry, if I have to delete my original fanfic. I decided to republish this story so I don't have to keep doing any more updates. Anyway, here's the newly updated version of Magnetta being introduced in DEATH BATTLE. Enjoy.
David: Despite growing up in the most crime-filled neighborhood of Dakota City with her cousin Virgil, Ruby Hawkins was a pretty good kid.
David: She spent her time playing music, reading books, and helping people in need, but she had one problem. Bullies. I always hate bullies for ruining people's day.
David: During school, she was frequently harassed by one of the most popular girls, Kathryn Collins. Ruby's only refuge was one of her cousin's few friends, Larry Wade.
David: Larry convinced Ruby that there was only one way to get rid of Kathryn for good. Join his own gang. However, things got a little intense, and Ruby didn't like it at all. She was about to bail.
David: But the damage was already done. The police arrived and released a massive canister of what seemed to be tear gas, but wasn't.
David: It was actually some experimental gas, which was supposed to tag each gang member so the cops could track them down later, but it was actually laced with radioactive Quantum Juice which killed almost everybody. I hate character deaths!
David: Luckily, Ruby was one of the few people who survived, but the Quantum Juice still had an effect.
David: She began to develop magnetic-gravitational powers. Before this, Ruby always wanted to help people, but now she was able to help a lot of people and became the superheroine, Magnetta.
Magnetta: I'm the main attraction!
Background
- Real Name: Ruby Hawkins
- Age: 14
- Aliases: Maggie, R, Fly Girl, and Gravi-Toid
- Omega-level Metahuman
- Dislikes guns, Bullies, people getting hurt
- Member of the Justice League
- Hobbies: Music, Reading
David: Heck yeah! With these new powers, she was unstoppable. She can fire magnetic rays at her enemies, make balls of magnetic energy called Magna Balls, and increase her punches to make them immensely powerful called Magnetic Strike.
David: But she's not just good with magnetism. Magnetta can alter the gravity of any object or planet. She can create extremely durable magnetic force fields that block most attacks. She can even move metal around like a young female version of Magneto.
David: And can use her powers to take to the sky. By using her Magnetic-Gravitational powers, she can make herself be able to fly through the Earth's gravity. Think about it, do you wish that you could alter the Earth's gravity to make yourself float like an astronaut in space?
David: Turning superhuman overnight caught Ruby a bit off guard. But after a few speed-bumps, she became a well-known superheroine throughout the city of Dakota.
Magnetic Powers
- Magekinesis
Magnet Rays
Magnetic Stick
Magnet Burst
Magnet Whip
Electronic Disruption
Magnetic Barriers
- Ferromagnetism
- Magne-Gravitokinesis
- Wormhole Generation
- Can become magnetic energy
David: Magekinesis is far more versatile than many people think. The blood in your body has iron in it. The air has traces of lead and mercury. Whole mountains are lined with metallic ore. And the Earth itself is surrounded by a literal magnetic field. So many varieties for Magnetta to use. Magnetta's powers are a lot stronger than Static's because of how much she works out, how smart she is with her powers, and how she trains herself to use and control them. Many rocks also contain iron-bearing minerals that act like tiny magnets. Magma even contains iron-rich minerals. Sockeye Salmon and Sea Turtles use magnetism to find their way back to the same river or beach they were born in. Birds can also use magnetism to find their way south when they migrate.
David: Magnetta was always one step ahead of herself. She learned how to see electromagnetic auras, and how to make a person's bio-magnetic field visible to see for the human eye. She can even move and redirect bullets, vehicles, and buildings.
Magnetta can use her powers to project magnetic fields that are capable of overloading electrical circuits. She is also resistant to telepathic attacks, even when unconscious.
David: She even has the ability to detect magnetic fields. Magnetta can also create magnetic whips to grab or wrap her opponents, disrupt any machinery possessing magnetic or metallic alloys, and can heal herself by producing a magnetic field around herself to reduce her cell's pain signals.
David: She can even reattach her severed limbs with her magnetic powers! I'm not kidding! How cool is that for Magnetism?!
Feats
- Charged the Justice League's Watchtower
- Altered the Earth's gravity
- Matched Madelyn Spaulding's telekinesis
- Dodged Four Arms' punches
- Survived a punch to the face from her own Magnetic Strike
- Contact people by traveling through the magnetic fields in the person's brain
- Overpowered Bashmouth's armor with one punch from her Magnetic Strike
- Defeated Ebon, Copy Cat, Poison Ivy
David: Clearly, Magnetta has a lot of power with both Magnetism and Gravity.
David: She can survive being punched by her own Magnetic Strike, lift whole mountains to topple on her enemies, and can even reshape any metal she's aware of.
David: She can use that power to turn blood into metal saw blades or turn metal armor into a metal coil. Magnetta can control the traces of iron within a person's blood and can manipulate the iron-enriched blood flow to a person's brain to potentially induce very limited effects.
David: She's able to use the laws of general relativity to reduce the speed of objects or creatures to nothing even if they were moving at the speed of light before.
David: Absorb the power of the sun to battle any powerful foes.
David: And can also use the Earth's magnetic field to overwhelm beings that can destroy planets.
David: She can generate powerful bolts of electricity, pull in metal particles from the air, and can create solar flares to fire a bright flash of high-intensity solar rays.
David: Solar Flares can be created by tangling the lines of the sun's magnetic field. They're so hot that they can badly concuss targets, flash fry a stampeding herd, or downright blind anyone unfortunate enough to get hit dead on by it.
David: Magnetta can even fling the Earth right off its axis.
David: Dang, and I thought magnetism can just move metal around. But...
David: Her magnetic-gravitational power could play tug of war with Madylen Spaulding's telekinesis. I'm not sure what's the difference between Gravity powers and Telekinesis since they look like they're the same power, but who knows.
Magnetta can't bend metal like Static can or create black holes like Gravattack from Ben 10.
David: However, despite Magnetta's incredible power, extreme heat is her biggest weakness, and she can run out of power if she pushes herself too much.
Her powers are useless against rubber, wood, plants, plastic, and people that can cancel out her powers.
David: However, even without her powers, she's a very skilled fighter, who's good at martial arts, gymnastics, and combat. Heck, she was good enough to join the Justice League. I guess even Ruby herself is proud to see how powerful she really is.
Magnetta: Magnetta!
How do you like the new updates? It sure looks better than the old version. I'm now officially done with doing continuous updates on Magnetta. Please Review.
