Chapter 2

Fyi throughout the story I might change some things such as ages or order of events. I will also elaborate on canonical back stories by elaborating or adding on to it. There might be a mistake here or there because the Teen Wolf universes time line is choppy at best and a hellish dumpster fire at worst. So every time I want to write something related to time or age I have to do math and I'm not a mathematician, if you catch my drift.

Blood makes you related

Loyalty makes you family

What is that noise and why is she so tired? She can't hear a thing other than this loud ringing. Damn was there an explosion?

No, wait. pack home, druid, saving the world. Ugh okay step one, open eyes. Malia pulls her eyes open only to close them immediately as the sunlight blinds her.

After a minute she tries again, while opening her eyes she stands up taking in her surroundings. Trees surround her and as she gets her bearings she knows exactly where she landed. To her left is her former home and to her right doesn't lie a big chunk of scrap metal which used to be her mother's car.

''huh'' tilting her head, she gets caught up in her memories.

''I'm not going to stop, Malia. I'm taking back what you stole from me.''

''I didn't steal anything.''

''But you did.'' The Desert Wolf as she starts to walk closer to the staircase with her gun raised ''And I don't care if you're a willing participant or not. Talia Hale spent nine months trying to convince me of the miracle of childbirth. You know what it really felt like? A parasite. Talia said it was a gift, that the coyote passes down part of her power to her daughter. She called it beautiful. I call it theft.''

''It's not the full moon, Malia... but you know what? It's close enough.''

''Stop...'' she pleads as the desert wolf shoots her again.

''I want my power back!'' says as the desert wolf pierces her skin.

Screaming in pain she had just enough time to affix Belasko's talons onto her own claws, and stabs her mother in the stomach with them, causing her to gasp in shock and pain ''I want my family back.'' She says full of anguish, knowing she can't ever get that.

A tentative smile reaches her face as she looks at the empty space that used to house a torn up family car, ''I have my family back.''

''You'll meet people who look like the people you love but aren't them do you understand?''

''Before we do this I have to warn you child, these people will not be the same as when you knew them.''

''I know okay! I know.'' she shouts into the woods. ''I won't be their family but they'll always be mine,'' she whispers.

''Ugh who picked this movie?'' Theo asks plopping down on the couch.

''Malia picked it out, said it looked interesting or something'' Jackson says uninterested.

Liam walks into the living room carrying a bowl of popcorn, ''So why are we watching a kids movie?''

''Shut up pup, you are a kid.'' Peter all but growls from his spot on the armchair.

''We can pick something else if you guys don't like this one.'' She offers, a little disappointed that they don't like her choice in movies.

Melissa suddenly appears behind her, ''No honey, I like this movie and it is your turn to pick the movie and everyone else-'' Melissa says, glaring at the rest of the pack members ''knows that.'' Effectively shutting them up.

That movie became her favorite movie, yes most of the pack complained before watching it but it always reminded her of herself and their 'little', yet not so little pack.

Ohana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind. Or forgotten.

This is my family. I found it, all on my own. It's little, and broken, but still good. Yeah, still good.

Yes, in the pack no one was ever forgotten or left behind. And she might not have found them like stitch found his family, but she doesn't think that the 'who found who' really matters as long as you end up together. At least that is what Scott always says… said.

She is snapped out of her musings by rustling leaves and voices in the distance making her freeze in place.

''I swear I heard someone scream, uncle Peter'' a male voice exclaims.

''You're just nervous we went out this far out, scaredy cat'' a young girl responds tauntingly.

''Butt out Cora! I was talking to uncle Peter'' The male voice whisper yells. ''It could be hunters.''

''Calm down, it's probably just a bunny or some other animal.'' A slightly more mature male voice interjects lazily, ''besides if it really was hunters then Gerard would be pretty damn stupid if you ask me.''

Frowning the girl scuffs the grass under her feet, ''why would that make him stupid?''

''Cuz I imagine it would be pretty difficult to have peace negotiations, when you keep cutting members from the other side of the negotiating table in half'' he answers. ''Besides to pull such a stunt with this many packs in town? That be plain suicide.''

That's when it hits her. Uncle Peter, Derek , Cora and talk off hunters? It's part of her pack… her family, albeit they sound different. No, different isn't the right word. younger? Naiver? Happier? Maybe. But as much as she wants to find out, now really isn't the time. She has stuff to do, people to kill and that means that she can't get involved with any packs let alone the Hales. After all, from what little she'd heard about the former Hale pack, one thing was clear. The Hales didn't used to be known for the blood on their hands or their kill count. And if she's got anything to say about it, they never will be.

She slowly slinks away in the opposite direction with one thing running through her mind 'the alpha pack will never come to be if I get rid of Gerard first'

Unaware of the pair of eyes following her every move.
