"I'm going to be at your house in the next 5 minutes," Piper said on call with Calypso.

"Piper, I already told you. I don't want to go out tonight. I'm tired and had a very bad day."

"Oh, come on, Calypso. I'm sure if you come out with me and Jason, you will feel so much better. Besides, we won't be there for long. Just a couple of drinks and that's it."

"Ugh, Piper, I really don't want to."

"Please, Calypso."

Calypso groaned. "Fine. But you better not ditch me for Jason because you got drunk."

"Yes! I promise that will not happen again. Me and Jason are on the way. See you soon!"

Piper cut the call before Calypso even had the chance to say "bye" back.

Calypso dragged herself up from her bed and to the closet, hoping she had some decent clothes to wear. She settled on a simple tank top and skirt, in hopes of not catching any unwanted attention (which is probably not going to happen). She added some jewelry and put on her non-heel shoes. She pulled her hair in a nice high ponytail and looked at herself in the mirror. This will have to do, she thought to herself.

A few minutes later, her phone dinged from a message from Piper.

We're outside, it said. Calypso quickly responded with a Coming and quickly locked her apartment and headed downstairs. This was going to be a long night, she thought to herself.

As soon as she stepped outside, the sun gleaming in her face, Jason's car pulled up on the driveway. Piper had her window rolled down from the passenger side of the car.

"Get in, Calypso. This is going to be a lot of fun!" Piper yelled excitedly.

Calypso sighed and got in. After about 15 minutes of small talk and discussing their work life, they reached the bar.

Calypso got out of Jason's car and started walking towards the entrance doors, expecting Piper and Jason to be behind her, but when she looked back she immediately melted. Jason was on the passenger side of the car opening the door for Piper. Calypso smirked. What a gentleman.

Piper looked better than she could even imagine. And she was wearing a…dress? Jason also looked good himself, with a white collar shirt and navy blue pants. It made Calypso feel self-conscious, wishing she had worn something a bit more elegant.

As both Piper and Jason made their way to Calypso, she couldn't help but notice the couple laughing together. The way Jason's hands were on Piper's waist, carefully guiding her towards the entrance. The way they were whispering in each other's ears and kissing…

Calypso shook her head. No, she wasn't jealous of her friend, but she'd be lying if she said she didn't envy the relationship that Piper and Jason shared. To feel so happy and careless just by being next to someone; to care about someone so much and have them care just as much for her. It was a feeling Calypso yearned for but never felt.

She forced a smile as her friends joined her and they walked into the club, suddenly overwhelmed by the loud music and people dancing. Piper steered her towards a section of the bar and scanned the tables.

"He should be here by now," Piper muttered. Calypso looked around but didn't see anyone that Piper could be looking for.

"Who?" Calypso asked. "You didn't tell me anyone else was coming."

"Sorry. Guess I just forgot." Piper said, smiling sweetly. Calypso had a bad feeling about this.

"Oh, there he is." Jason pointed to someone on a barstool at the countertop. Calypso couldn't see the person's face due to the dark lighting but he looked familiar.

Piper and Jason made their way to the familiar figure and Calypso didn't know what else to do except to follow them.

"Leo! Is that you?" Jason called out.

Leo… also known as her archnemesis, is here, at the club. Ugh, this night could literally not get any worse. Calypso knew exactly who did this.

She looked Piper dead in the eye and mouthed "Why did you invite Leo?" Piper shrugged, not meeting Calypso's eye. But Calypso got her answer. She finally understood why Piper wanted her to come so badly. She did this so she could set her up with Leo. Wow. How typical of her.

Now, don't get her wrong, Leo is a nice guy and all, but he's just not her type. Now how does she tell him that without hurting his feelings?

Before she can get too lost in her thoughts, Leo's voice brought her back to reality.

"Hey! Man. Wow, Jason. I really thought that you were going to stand me up again." Leo replied, hugging/fistbumping Jason in such an awkward way. Do all guys seriously do this? I will never understand them.

As Leo stood up from the barstool and started talking to Jason, Calypso took in his full appearance for the first time. He actually looked good? Hot? Breath-taking? No, no, no, she was getting way ahead of herself. Calypso! Pull it together. She looked up and down taking in Leo's outfit. He was wearing tan colored pants and a blue buttoned down shirt with the first three unbuttoned. For the first time ever, his hair was neatly combed back, but there were still a few pieces that came to his forehead which Calypso thought added to the look even more.

But when Calypso took a look at his face, she completely freaked out. He looked amazing… and that beard.. Omg. It was safe to say that Calypso liked Leo better without this usual work attire, which mostly consisted of overalls and a white t-shirt. His face would be covered in some sort of grease from whatever he was working on at that time. But now… NO, she told herself. Calypso. STOP. Control yourself. You do not like Leo.

"Calypso? You okay?" Piper asked.

"Huh. Yeah, I'm fine." Calypso smiled, trying to sound as normal as she could with her heart beating a thousand times a second.

Leo finally seemed to notice her presence, and grinned at her. "Calypso, right? I'm guessing Piper dragged you here as well." He turned to his friend. "Seriously, Pipes, you can't just blackmail people to come. I was really busy."

Piper rolled her eyes. "By busy you mean sulking around in your house and playing video games all day. You should be grateful to have such a caring friend like me."

"Yeah, yeah. So grateful." Leo muttered.

Jason laughed and Calypso couldn't help but smile as they all sat down. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all. Not with Leo here.

Leo's POV:

When Piper told Leo she was bringing a friend with her, he thought the girl would be another one of those really popular and talkative ones that Piper always hangs out with. Piper was always known as the popular and fun girl and had so many friends. Jason was also the "jock" type. Playing football made him the center of attention with anyone. So how did he and Jason become friends? Long story short, Leo needed help with an assignment for tech class and he was crap at writing essays, which was where Jason came in. Leo built both their projects while Jason wrote the reports, and turns out they had a lot in common.

They soon became a trio: him, Jason, and Piper. But he's always felt like a third wheel after Jason and Piper became a couple and it made him long for a relationship as well.

Even though Leo was usually left out when with Piper and Jason, he could tell that they were made for each other. Since the beginning, Jason had always had a crush on Piper and when they both went to prom together (and won prom king and queen) that was just the start of their relationship. To be fair, Jason and Piper did a good job of making him never feel left out when he was with them, alway including him in conversations, and inviting him to parties.

Leo was thankful for friends like them, but Piper must've noticed his loneliness and was always setting him up on dates with her friends or anyone that she would think was a good match. But most of them weren't Leo's type, since they'd either be too loud or too shy and quiet, both which made Leo uncomfortable. They also seemed to care too much about their appearances which made Leo self-conscious about himself.

But Calypso? Leo could just tell something was different. The way that she looked good even in a skirt and a crop-top. Her hair wasn't styled and it couldn't have looked better either. She was reserved but also carried a confident aura with her, which made her different from any other girls Leo met.

Before he could start imagining more things Jason's voice brought him back. "Should we grab drinks?" Jason asked.

"Yes!" Piper replied. Piper was always the first one to get drunk when we went to parties. The night would usually end with Jason carrying Piper back to their apartment.

Jason headed off to order drinks while Piper started to talk about college and asked them about how things have been. Leo and Calypso chimed in a little but let Piper do most of the talking. Jason came back after a few minutes and handed them each a glass.

Leo drank from his own glass, surprised to see that Jason remembered his favorite. He had never been the one to drink too much so he took small sips, making sure he was sober enough to take care of the others in care they were drunk. As they talked, Leo noticed that Calypso hesitated before taking a sip.

"Jason, let's go dance!" Piper, who was now very drunk, laughed as she pulled Jason into the dancing crowd. Leo smiled at his friends but was also concerned since they would probably end up doing something stupid.

He sighed and looked back at Calypso who was looking at the crowd, smiling. They both talked for a while, mostly about Piper and Jason, and a bit about themselves. Leo was glad to see her open up and it felt easier to talk with her than most girls.

Shoot.. I have to go to the bathroom. Really Leo? Right now? Can you hold it right now and just talk to Calypso? This is why you don't have a girlfriend.

"Wow! That's so exciting, Calypso." Leo replied, hoping that she was still talking about her new job.

"Yeah! It's stressful, but also such a nice change." she replied back.

Phew!

"I'm going to use the bathroom real quick. I will be right back," i said before racing off and not giving her a chance to fully reply

Calypso's POV:

That was actually pretty nice. Leo, at first, seemed dorky but turned out to be a genuinely nice guy. Most guys that Calypso talked to were never interested in her personality or interests, and didn't even bother to hide their desires, which made Calypso sick to the stomach. But Leo wanted to actually get to know her. Maybe Piper's matchmaking skills would actually come true this time.

Leo still wasn't back yet so Calypso decided to get another drink and then make her way to the dance floor. She got a cup of the drink Jason had gotten her before and sipped from it as she watched everyone dance. She wasn't a big fan of dancing and would normally just stand there in a corner watching Piper and Jason until it was time to leave. But now, she felt like having fun, which was something she hadn't experienced in a long time. Maybe she could dance with Leo? No! She didn't even know him. That would make things way too awkward.

Before she could keep thinking if asing Leo to dance would be too much, she heard an unfamiliar, slurred voice beside her. Last time she checked no one was there. Calypso could already tell that he was drunk before he met her gaze.

"Hey, what's a girl like you doing there all alone?"

Calypso backed away from him. "I'm here with my friends," she said, getting scared.

The guy didn't take the hint and moved closer to her. "Well, they don't seem to be around right now. Come dance with me."

"I'm sorry, I need to go," Calypso started to walk away, but he suddenly grabbed her hand. Hard.

Calypso struggled to get away from his grip but it only got tighter. " Let me take you home".

Suddenly, she heard a familiar voice. "Hey, she told you she wasn't interested." Calypso turned around and was glad to see Leo standing next to the drunk with his hand on his shoulder.

The guy seemed to be surprised to see him, and releases Calypso's hand. "Well, sorry… She was alone…" the guy walked away, muttering something under his breath.

Calypso was shaking. She wanted to go home. She knew that she shouldn't have come to the party. She started sobbing right there and Leo pulled her into his arms.

"Hey… it's okay. You're fine now," Leo gently whispered into her ear and held her tight

Calypso melted into his arms, the warmth of him making her feel safe.

"Would you like me to drive you home?" he asked, and Calypso nodded, unable to form any words.

"Shouldn't we tell Jason and Piper?" Calypso asked.

"I already texted Jason. They'll be fine."

Calypso nodded and they walked to the parking lot. Leo guided her to his car and opened the passenger door for her. She quietly got in and gave him the address.

For some reason, this reminded her of Piper and Jason's relationship. How he always opens the door for Piper and makes sure she always feels comfortable before he goes to sit on his side.

Leo hurried over to his side and got in the car. He didn't want to leave Calypso alone for even a minute.

"Leo… Thank you for saving me back there" she said as he drove.

Leo looked over and smiled warmly at her. "Don't mention it. And sorry, I shouldn't have left you like that."

"That's not your fault." Calypso said and they drive in silence for the rest of the drive. She wanted to say more, but couldn't figure out what she was feeling towards him. She wasn't ready to say goodbye to him yet. Something about him made her feel safe and happy, and she wanted that feeling to last.

As they arrive and she gets out of his car, Leo calls out to her, "Are you sure you don't want me to walk you to the door?"

Calypso smiles at him and shakes her head. "I'm feeling better now. Thank you for the ride and, well, everything."

After another 2 more minutes of silence Calypso finally gathers up her nerves. " Also... Leo," she says, "are you free tomorrow? I was thinking we could go to that coffee shop you told me about."

Leo stares at her for a second before grinning widely. "Of course. I'll pick you up tomorrow? Around 4?"

Calypso nods. "I'd like that."

"So… it's a date."

"Yes. Good night, Leo."

Calypso says bye and heads home, turning back to see him drive away with a warm feeling in her chest. "It's a date."
