AN: Ok, I'm in a Pokemon mood so a Pokemon fic I will write. This fic was partly inspired by 'Challenging Sinnoh!'. So yea this will take place during the Sinnoh league. Also Ash will age realistically unlike the anime. In case your wondering about the timeline I will write out my version of it and my personal belief.
AN: I got inspired to write this thanks to Ash finally winning a league in canon!
Kanto: 10(Beginning)-11(End)
Orange Islands: 11(Beginning)-12(End), I believe he used his time there as a vacation period and transition period after his first league and spent a year there challenging the league.
Johto: 12(Beginning)-13(End)
Hoenn: 13(Beginning)-14(End)
Battle Frontier: 14(Beginning)-15(End), Same thing as Orange Islands a transition period for Ash and a vacation from new regions.
Sinnoh: 16(Beginning)-17(End)(I am having a timeskip before he starts Sinnoh for certain reasons)
Unova: 17(Beginning)-18(End)
AN2: The shipping? I am not sure He is 16 and likes girls so he will be dating. Since Ash has met and befriended many beautiful girls in his time as a trainer I have the freedom to use any one of them. Heck it may be Pearlshipping or Rayshipping or even Advanceshipping or HaremShipping. I could even go left field with it and ship him with someone random like Lisia.

Pokemon with a question mark by their names are subject to evolution as I like fully evolved Pokemon better. I know Pikachu is controversial but come on! It has been six years(in this story) already and I am ready to see how powerful his Raichu would be since his Pikachu could defeat a legendary in a one on one. Also Ash will gain 11 new Pokemon during the timeskip, 6 of them were previous Pokemon and one of them are Pokemon he had a bond with. One of them is one he gets from an egg. 3 of them are a mystery.

Total Victory. Something he had only experienced one time before this moment when challenging the Orange league. He was a young teenager around the age of 15 with wild raven black hair and warm brown eyes. He had lightly tanned skin and z striped birth marks on his cheeks. He was dressed in dark blue cargo pants, a short sleeve black shirt and a white and blue short sleeved hoodie over it. He had black fingerless gloves on his hands with red cuffs. This was Ash Ketchum a trainer originally from Pallet town, and Champion of the Orange League. Now he is the first winner of the Kanto Battle Frontier.
However all was not sunshine and rainbows for Ash, for this whole entire experience with the Battle Frontier had drilled some facts that he had been ignoring for a long time into him. The first was that it wasn't a crime against nature to capture Legendary's as long as they weren't the ones in charge with the balance of the world(Even if he didn't know that some of those who were would still come with him). This was due to the fact that Brandon owned the three Regi's. This brought him to his next fact. His dream to be a Pokemon Master was naive and impossible in the literal sense. It would be correct to call being a Pokemon Master a crime against nature, for the fact that the only way to achieve the title would be to capture one of every single Pokemon which meant legendary Pokemon as well. So you would have to capture Arceus itself which is both impossible and immoral.
So with Scott's offer to become a Frontier Brain, Ash had started to think of his future as a trainer. He eventually politely declined the offer while also thanking him for the chance. This was done after a week of thought as he hung out around the Pyramid, of which a surprising thing occurred in Anabel saying she found a second job as a police officer of the International Police. He eventually decided it was time for him to get serious about becoming a Champion of a League. After hearing about a new region called Sinnoh he had decided that it would be the league he would first become the acting Champion of.
However he didn't want to immediately head there like usual. He had learned from his time in the Battle Frontier that he was becoming out of touch with his Pokemon from previous regions and that by starting over every region he was holding himself and his Pokemon back because he wanted to try to recreate that experience of his first journey.
However all of these things paled in comparison to the hugest change and the biggest reason he planned to take a year off to train with his Pokemon personally. The night he rejected the offer to become a Frontier Brain and his last night in the Pyramid, Pikachu had come to him with a serious look on his face as the two sat alone in their room. No words were needed between the two as they looked at each other and nodded. They both knew Pikachu was at the peak of his power as a Pikachu after having battled and defeated a legendary in a one on one battle. As one the two looked down at the yellow stone lying in between them. They both had a hard look of determination.
"Are you sure about this buddy? There's no turning back once it's done." Ash said softly to his first and most loyal Pokemon.
"Pika." Pikachu responded in a strong voice before he stepped forward and tapped his foot on the thunderstone they had received so long ago in Vermillion city. His body was engulfed in a bright white light before his shape began to grow as his tail extended and his body bulked out. When the glow died down, there before him standing proud and tall was the most magnificent Raichu he had ever seen.
"Raichu!" Raichu stated as he flexed his muscles and his cheek sacks sparked with powerful electricity. So powerful in fact that it had leaked around the room frying the hardware. Which is why they both agreed to leave on a training trip. Raichu now had far more power at his disposal and it would be difficult to control without training since his style used to mostly rely on speed than power even if he was probably the most strongest of his species.
Raichu and Ash agreed to surprise Ash's friends and loved ones by keeping Raichu in his ball much to his reluctance and not revealing him until their return to the public. This of course surprised all of his friends and loved ones because it was well known that Pikachu hated his ball.
At the end of their Journey with the Battle Frontier it was discovered that Brock wasn't leaving as he was going to stay with Lucy since the two had feelings for each other and wanted to try a relationship out. Ash, May and Max congratulated the two. May and Max headed home since Max would begin his journey in a year and wanted to be ready for it while May had been invited to a prestigious Coordinator's school in Lilycove. So Ash made the journey home by himself.
He spent a week relaxing in Pallet town conversing with his mom and Professor Oak, with Gary not being there due to studying new Pokemon in Sinnoh. It was naturally a huge shock when they found out about Raichu who had come out of his ball the second he was home. The occasion was as rare as sighting the legendary Ho-oH. Oak naturally wanted to study Raichu's new boost in power after having seen him win against a Regice as a Pikachu he could only imagine how strong he would be as a Raichu.
However Ash told them of his goal and the fact that he no longer wished to be a Pokemon Master due to the actual fact that it is impossible and immoral. He told them of his wish to win another region league and be the Champion of Sinnoh like he was to the Orange Islands, except this time he was prepared to fully take the title of Champion and not give it back to the previous Champion. With this he brought up that he would be leaving for a year to train with all of his Pokemon and that he would be regularly switching them out in Sinnoh to help train whatever new Pokemon he caught there and to battle with when he was ready. The trip was also to help Raichu adjust to his new power.
Oak suggested he head to Mt. Silver to train for the year since he had clearance already as a Champion. Ash agreed but said he had some calls to make first as well as some places he needed to head to, to pick up some old friends. He left the next morning not to be seen in the public again for a whole year.

Six months later
A young man with wild raven black hair and warm brown eyes was meditating on the top of a snowy capped mountain. He looked to be in between the ages of 15-16 years old. He was dressed in tattered clothing which consisted of black cargo pants that had several patches on them a short sleeved black shirt with holes in it and a tattered blue and white hoodie. The gloves he used to wear had already been too damaged to use anymore. He had the beginnings of a beard forming on his face as well. His hair was long and wild hanging free from the hat that used to be atop his head that had been burned weeks ago. His pants had been converted to shorts due to him having hit a growth spurt finally and he became to tall for them to be comfortable.
In front of him was a herd of different pokemon. In front of the pack were three pokemon which stood out more prominently than the rest. On the left standing tall and proud as he had his arms crossed was a powerful looking Sceptile. On the right standing just as tall and proud with a smirk on his face was an intimidating looking Charizard. In the middle was his strongest pokemon who even though he was one of the shortest still held the most respect out of all of his pokemon. It was his Raichu who's cheeks radiated electricity every once in a while. His small body held back enough power to go toe to toe with the Legendary's themselves. The three pokemon standing in front of his rest were each able to actually combat Legendary's by themselves.
The rest of his pokemon that stood behind these three consisted of a Venusaur who finally decided to evolve after seeing Raichu do so, his Kingler, Muk, Tauros which was the alpha of the pack as he had sold the other twenty nine to farmers around Kanto, Snorlax, Heracross, Meganium who had evolved as well, Typhlosion, Feraligatr, a shiny Noctowl, Donphan, Swellow, Crawdaunt, Torkoal, Glalie, and Aipom the only pokemon of his to not evolve.
He had also made some calls and traveled a bit before coming to the mountain to reclaim some of his old friends as well as officially catch them. This included his Blastoise who had evolved not wanting to fall behind his other starters, His Primeape who was excited to finally be back together with him and his massive Pidgeot who pecked him on the head for taking so long to come get her. The ones he had finally officially caught were Haunter who had evolved to Gengar before he had captured him, Larvitar who had also evolved into the form he was in now as a Pupitar, Rapidash who he rode in the Pokemon Grand Prix and he had also caught the Flygon that he fought with during the Jirachi incident.
They still had another six months before the Sinnoh League began but Ash's clothes probably weren't going to last that. So he had decided to make another call to a friend who he had met in Hoenn to tailor him some clothes. She was actually a pretty popular person in Hoenn being a Contest Idol and all.
They had agreed to his terms and agreed to meet up with him. It took Ash a week to reach them flying on the backs of his various powerful flyers. However he had finally reached them in Lilycove city and after receiving a few items from them as well as a new set of clothes, as well as a haircut, that could could survive the harsh conditions he was in along with being stylish for his look according to her he said goodbye and left on Pidgeot's back. Of course not before she got her payment, of which turned out to be a date with him. It was one of the greatest nights of his life and he sadly had to leave her the next morning with the promise to call.
He had also met up with the Kanto Champion Lance when he was off of Mt. Silver who wanted to give him an egg he received from a dragon master friend in Kalos. While in town with Lance he had purchased grooming kits for his pokemon and himself so he could stay clean shaven.
After that he returned back to Mt. Silver to continue his training with his pokemon as well as himself since he wanted to stay in shape. He had also been careful with his egg in the Incubator and kept it completely safe and in a warm environment the whole time.

2 months later he had received a happy surprise in the form of the egg hatching. A cute little pink Noibat formed from it who had made an instant connection with Ash the moment their eyes met.

4 months later
Delia Ketchum frowned as she tended to her garden with Mr. Mime. She had been missing her Ashy lately due to his being gone for a whole year like usual however it wasn't even to compete in a league this time.
"Sigh you should return home soon Ash and give your mom some company." She said sighing out. All of a sudden a huge shadow came over her form. She turned around and looked up while squinting her eyes against the sun to see what it was. At first it was a blur over her head but when it became clear she gave a huge happy smile at what she seen.
It was Ash riding a Flygon. Once he landed he jumped off of Flygon along with two others and returned the dragon to his ball she was greeted to the sight of her now sixteen year old son for the first time in year.
He was almost as tall as her now she noticed standing around 5'9. His wild raven black hair was now styled better and free from a hat for the first time since he was ten. His eyes were still the warm brown color but she noticed hints of blue was creeping up in it. His skin was still as tan as ever due to him always being in the sun. However his outfit caused her to widen her eyes.
"Ash that outfit looks good on you!" She stated smiling. He was wearing a black undershirt over which he wore a long sleeved blue coat with the center piece being black with white accents, it had a long coattail the interior being red and a high collar and black cufflinks on the wrist, and on the center was a belt with six slots for pokeballs. He had black pants and black shoes on along with a new pair of black fingerless gloves.(The cover art which is art I commissioned from my favorite artist Zivan!)
Ash scratched the back of his head sheepishly. This also gave notice to the two pokemon who had disembarked Flygon with him. His ever loyal Raichu was standing by his side, and sitting atop his head was Noibat. "Heh ya I met up with a friend of mine and May's in Lilycove. Her name was Lisia and she had wanted to design me some fashionable clothes that were durable as well." He explained. He also noted to not mention the other things they got up to in the past months as he went to visit her occasionally. He and Lisia had a casual fling going on but nothing too serious as they realized a relationship wouldn't work for them.
"Oh Ash I am so proud of you! You finally don't look like a ruffian anymore." Delia said as she ran up to him and hugged him.
"Thanks mom. Well I am really tired and I am supposed to take my ship to Sinnoh tomorrow morning, so do you mind if I get some rest?" He asked.
"Sure sweety. I will make you a huge breakfast tomorrow okay?" Delia said with a smile happy to see her son again.
Ash nodded his head with a smile and walked into the house before heading upstairs to his room. His Raichu and Noibat following him just as exhausted as he was. As soon as he got into his room he dropped face down on his bed and the softness of it knocked him out instantly. Raichu and Noibat doing much the same as they cuddled into his side.

The next morning
The heavenly aroma of his mothers cooking is what dragged Ash out of bed the next morning. Looking to his dresser he noticed his clothes was already cleaned and neatly folded on his bedside for him and that he was in a pair of pajama pants.
"Huh mom powers I guess?" He muttered to himself as he went to the bathroom to get himself ready for the day.
A few minutes later he was walking downstairs along with Raichu and Noibat all geared up and ready to go.
When he went into the kitchen he was surprised to find Professor Oak there along with Gary and Daisy as well. "Hey guys, here to eat my moms amazing cooking?" Ash asked as he leaned against the door with his arms crossed and a smirk on his face.
"Ash!?" The three yelled out shocked to see him standing there.
"Yo." He said waving to them as he joined them at the table. He could hear his mother giggling in the kitchen, meaning she didn't inform them he was back on purpose for this very reason.
The three at the table also seemed to have noticed his clothing as their eyes widened even further, well except for Daisy who had sparkles in her eyes for some reason and she was licking her lips. Ash knew why, he was just ignoring his childhood friends reaction.
"So you decided to dress nicely for once Ash?" Oak asked being the first to calm down.
"Yea your looking at the new and mature form of me." Ash explained as his mom came in and set the food on the table.
"Wow that's so amazing Ash! I am so proud of you." Daisy exclaimed.
"Hmph so your finally deciding to look cool huh Ashy? I bet my pokemon are still stronger than yours." Gary said with a smirk as he crossed his arms.
"Oh yea let's battle right now before I leave for Sinnoh!" Ash challenged him with his own smirk.
"Your on!" Gary said getting up ready to battle. That is until they both had a hand clamp down on their shoulder.
"How about you boys eat my breakfast that I have been working all morning on first?" Delia asked with a sweet smile on her face.
"Hahaha yes mam..." The boys both mumbled terrified. Sam(Prof Oak) and Daisy were both snickering at them.
"After we eat Ash and before you have your battle I need to speak with you about something important." Sam said seriously to which Ash nodded knowing what he wanted to talk about. He brushed his hand over three Pokeballs on his belt before sitting down.

After breakfast and after his talk with Sam, both boys rushed to the field behind the house so that they could battle. Sam had said that he would referee for them.
"This will be a 3 on 3 battle with no substitutions. Are you both ready?" Sam asked with his hand raised in the air. The both of them nodded with a serious look in their eyes as they were both in battle mode now.
"Then trainers release your first pokemon and begin!" Sam said bringing his hand down.
Both Ash and Gary grabbed a pokeball off of their belt and enlarged them.
"Go Blastoise!" Gary called out as he threw his ball and released a large and powerful looking Blastoise who crossed his arms when he noticed who he was facing.
"Heh that's the perfect pokemon to test out mines power. Go Primeape!" Ash yelled out as he threw his ball and released his P1 fighting champion Primeape who once released roared out it's name and punched it's fist together. It's championship belt no longer on it due to leaving the league to battle once again with Ash.
"Alright Primeape let's start off fast with Mach Punch!" Ash ordered instantly. Primeape's fist was coated in a white energy before it disappeared in a flash.
"Blastoise use protect quick!" Gary ordered. A green bubble surrounded it just in time as Primeape's fist impacted against it a second later. Gary had guessed Ash would go for a sure hit move to start off with and was glad that he thought to call that move out first.
"Now that your close start using Thunderpunch!" Ash called not one to be deterred by things like this anymore. Electricity started sparking off of Primeape's fist as he started waylaying on Blastoises's stomach.
Blastoise was grunting in pain from the super effective move that was repeatedly hitting it from a super powerful pokemon on top of that. "Hydro cannon to knock it back Blastoise quick!" Gary yelled out.
Ash grinned as he seen the cannons begin to power up. "Primeape show them your strength and use seismic toss!" He called out.
"PRIMEAPE!" With a roar Primeape lifted the Blastoise up off the ground and german suplexed it into the ground causing a crater just as the cannons released, flooding the crater.
Those watching were amazed by Primeapes strength.
"Now let's finish this with close combat!" Ash ordered not wanting the Blastoise to be able to get up. Red energy surrounded Primeape as he unleashed devastating blows onto Blastoise before it fainted.
With a sigh Gary recalled his pokemon. Ash recalled Primeape as well since he noticed it was getting worked up and would go on a rage soon if it didn't calm down.
"Hmph I should have expected a fighting champion pokemon like your Primeape to be strong. However your not going to win this next battle! Go Umbreon!" Gary called releasing his black Eevee evolution.
Ash looked to the Pokemon sitting on his shoulder and pointed his head towards the battlefield.
"Noiii!" Noibat cheered as it flew from his head and onto the field ready for battle.
"What kind of Pokemon is that?" Gary asked confused as he had been in Sinnoh researching Pokemon and he was sure he would of noticed one like that.
"It's a Kalos Native Pokemon called a Noibat. It's a Flying/Dragon type." Ash said giving out basic information on him. "Lance gave him to me as an egg a couple months ago." He explained on how he got it.
"Hmph I know you haven't had that Noibat for that long so it won't be able to stand up to my Umbreon who was my starter." Gary said smirking.
"You don't know the kind of training we went through at Mt. Silver so don't underestimate Noibat." Ash said with his arms crossed.
"Whatever, Umbreon let's end this quickly use Quick Attack!" Gary ordered. Umbreon took off in a streak of white light towards Noibat.
"Dodge with Agility and use Supersonic." Ash ordered calmly. A pink hue surrounded Noibat making it faster and allowed it to move to the side dodging Umbreon before it released a supersonic wave of sound which hit Umbreon confusing it.
"Umbreon no!" Gary shouted.
"Now use Hurricane!" Ash called. Noivern yelled as a blue energy surrounded it before it erupted from it's form in the shape of a tornado that swept Umbreon up in it.
"Good now fire Dragon Pulses into the Hurricane and aim for Umbreon!" Ash yelled out over the raging winds. Noibat began launching dragon shaped blast of dragon energy into the hurricane hitting Umbreon every time it came around.
When the twister finally stopped Umbreon fell onto the ground covered in injuries. It shakily stood up before it stomped it's feet ready to keep going.
"Hmph you can't keep Umbreon down, alright rapid fire Shadow Balls at Noibat let's go!" Gary ordered.
"Tch Noibat dodge them with Agility." Ash called out. Noibat began maneuvering around the field dodging the shadow balls the best he could but despite his best efforts he was still hit with a few of them leaving him with injuries as well.
"Let's end this Noibat use aerial ace!" Ash ordered. Noibat complied and charged towards Umbreon with a streak of white surrounding it.
"Umbreon use Night Slash!" Gary yelled out. Umbreon released blades of purplish black energy at Noibat but it just maneuvered through them and slammed full force into Umbreon sending it careening back.
Once Niobat stopped it stood there panting but victorious as Umbreon was fainted near Gary. Gary recalled Umbreon and Ash was about to do the same with Noibat but he widened his eyes when he was covered in a blue white glow and his shape began to change lengthening out to be far longer than he was, his wings grew huge compared to his previous forms and a whip like tail grew from the base of his spine.
"He's evolving!" Ash called out excited. When it was done in the place of Noibat was now a majestic and intimidating Noivern. A loud roar was heard from it's mouth when it was done. When he scanned his new data and move set he grinned and decided to keep him out for Gary's next pokemon.
"I gotta say Ash I may have underestimated your Noivern but I wont with my next pokemon who I just evolved recently and I know it's one you haven't seen yet since you need to go to Sinnoh to find it. Let's go Electivire." Gary called out sending out the evolved form of Electabuzz.
"Electivire!" It roared it's name as electricity sparked from it's body.
"Hmm it looks like it evolved from an Electabuzz." Ash said excited.
"Alright Noivern let's start out with one of your new moves use Boomburst!" Ash called out. Noivern roared as it flew over Electivire and unleashed a huge amount of ultrasonic waves at it. The attack landed and launched Electivire across the field, but stood back up with some damage on it.
"Electivire use Thunderbolt!" Gary ordered and Electivire launched a bolt of electricity at Noivern.
"Counter with Boomburst!" Ash called out. Noivern managed to deflect the Thunderbolt but Electivire had rushed towards him right after launching the attack with it's fist covered in electricity showing it was using Thunderpunch.
"Now use Dragon Tail!" He shouted. Noivern brought his tail around as it was bathed in dragon energy and slammed it into Electivire's chest sending him flying.
"Electivire use agility to rush in and then use Cross Chop on Noivern." Gary yelled out panicking. He hadn't had his Electivire that long and so he wasn't in sync with it yet. However Electivire did as told and ran back at Noivern with white colored fist criss-crossed over themselves.
"Alright use Air Cutter Noivern followed up by Dragon Tail to finish this!" Ash said pumped up.
Noivern flapped it's powerful wings sending blades of air onto Electivire who just powered through them not wanting to miss. Noivern however brought his tail which was bathed in blue dragons power and slammed it into the fist causing an explosion to erupt kicking up dust.
When it cleared it revealed a battered and tired looking Noivern and a fainted Electivire.
Sam raised his hand in Ash's direction. "With Electivire unable to battle I declare Ash and Noivern the winners!" He called out.
"Alright!" Ash yelled as he ran onto the field and hugged Noivern. Noivern preened from the praise as Ash patted him. "You did good boy now get some rest okay?" Ash said as he returned him to his ball and clipped it onto his belt. The rest of his pokemon's balls were shrunken and inside a large pouch on the back of his belt since he was allowed to carry all of them. The six slots were just for whoever he was using in official battles.
Gary sighed as he returned Electivire. "Well Ash I guess you got me this time, but don't think your better than me yet! Because if you slack off I will take you down." Gary said as he walked over to Ash along with the other three who were watching.
"Don't worry I will never slack off." Ash said with a grin as Raichu climbed onto his back now that Noibat couldn't do it anymore since he was a Noivern now. He climbed up onto his shoulders and sat on them like a toddler would now that he was larger.
"Good. Now don't you need to be leaving soon? Your ship leaves today ya know." Gary said reminding him.
"Oh yea!" Ash said panicking. His mom however walked up to him and handed him a black satchel that had one long strap to hang over his shoulder. Ash put it on and thought it looked nice with the new mature look he was going for instead of using a backpack.
"Good luck sweety. I look forward to seeing you on t.v. during the Lily Valley conference." Delia said hugging him.
"I look forward to hearing of your accomplishments Ash good luck. You will need to see Professor Rowan in Sandgem town to have your pokedex updated as well." Sam said. Daisy came up and gave him a hug although it was a bit tighter than he was expecting.
"Well I am off to Sinnoh see you guys." Ash said as he tossed a ball up releasing his Flygon. He climbed onto his back before flying off towards Vermilion.
