Chapter Two.
"His name was Fukashi." Nino said.
Nino was standing before Fuutarou during their next tutoring session the next day.
"I'm sorry you had to see me cry like that yesterday." Nino apologized.
Fuutarou looked at her.
"Fukashi was our previous tutor and you having such a close name to him, it just messed me up." Nino explained.
"Our father always hired tutor after tutor and always, I mean always, they had the same jet black hair and a close enough name." Nino continued.
"I know he seems nice on the outside and I mean he really does care for us, but sometimes I think he goes too far." Nino explained further.
"I'm sorry." Nino apologized once again.
"Hey it's alright." Fuutarou said.
Nino took a seat back at the table where her other sisters are at.
"Not my fault that your dad hires guys that look exactly the same." Fuutarou chuckled.
"Yea I guess your right." Nino had a smile now.
"Well then, shall we continue our tutor session?" Fuutarou asked.
"Sure." They all said in unison.
Fuutarou took a seat as well at the table and layed out a stack of papers.
"This is a pre-test. Just so I can get an even better feel for what you guys know." Fuutarou said.
"So I'll have you 5 take this and when you're done, you can give it back to me." Fuutarou explained the directions.
Fuutarou picked the stack up and handed the papers to each quints. They took the papers and began their work.
The pencils scratched onto the papers, leaving it's lead on the paper.
Fuutarou sat there, watching the girls work on the problems given to them.
-
An hour and a half passes, the girls are done with their papers and Fuutarou has graded them already.
Since they had time to kill, they were on the couch, watching some random movie on the tv.
"Hey Uesugi-San, what if we went outside today?" Yotsuba asked.
"Oh? And do what and go where?" Fuutarou asked right back.
"I'm not sure." Yotsuba deflated.
"Well even if we went outside, the weather doesn't look too good." Fuutarou too a peek out the window.
The clouds were grey and the sky was dark. A storm looked to be incoming.
"How about this, we look at the news channel for weather then we decide from there." Fuutarou suggested.
"Sounds good with me." Itsuki said.
Fuutarou flipped the channel to the news. The weatherman was standing before them.
"It looks to be a huge storm coming soon. Fortunately, that will hit tomorrow. So if you do not feel like getting wet, I suggest you do all you need to do today and not tomorrow." The weatherman concluded.
"Well that answers it. What do you girls want to do?" Fuutarou asked.
"We have been wanting to go to this one place." The girls all looked at each other.
"Where?" Fuutarou asked.
"Noi-Fest!!!" The girls shouted together.
"Huh." Fuutarou questioned.
"You know, the lizard from Biscuit Hammer!" Yotsuba exclaimed.
"Yea there's like a giant Noi there and you can go inside!" Ichika added on.
"Alright alright, we'll go." Fuutarou gave in. "It's not like we have anything else to do."
"Ok! Let's go!" Yotsuba immediately rushed to the door.
Fuutarou and the four other sisters followed right behind. The sisters left the apartment first and Fuutarou stood at the door frame.
There was a lone door down the hall to his left.
It looked ominous and out of place.
What was in it?
Are the quints hiding anything?
How did Fuutarou never notice this before?
He eventually just decided to leave it alone and join the sisters waiting at the elevator.
-
Noi-Fest was terrible. At least that's what Fuutarou thought. He had never read Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer. The quints loved it however and were fangirling over everything.
After their fun little time, they decided to walk to a cafe and get some snacks and drinks.
They got a table and sat around it, chatting about the festival.
"Just going inside was so cool!" Nino exclaimed.
"And seeing everyone dressed up too, it was so awesome." Miku added.
Just then, a waitress appeared.
"Hello there, how may I get you started today?" She asked.
"We'll all have waters." Fuutarou said.
"Anything else?" She asked.
"Nope we're all good, just the waters please." Fuutarou said.
"Alrighty, I'll have it to you soon." She walked away.
The girls looked at Fuutarou.
"She was cute wasn't she?" Ichika asked.
"I saw she was eyeing you." Nino added.
"Oh whatever, you girls are annoying." Fuutarou said.
"Well too bad, you decided to come with us." Ichika shrugged.
"Haah… yes I did." Fuutarou sighed.
"Alright cheer up, we're just happy you're with us." Ichika said.
"Oh? How come?" Fuutarou asked.
"Well you're the first tutor we've had that's actually treated us like a friend." She explained.
"Well you and Fukashi that is." Nino chirped.
"Yep him too." Ichika said.
"And just you doing that has made you a lot better in our book." Ichika added.
"I see." Fuutarou nodded. "If you don't mind, this Fukashi guy, how was he? You girls keep talking about him."
"Oh he was just great." Itsuki said.
"He was smart and tutored all of us in a way that we would understand." Yotsuba said.
"And he would treat us like a friend, just like you." Miku added.
"He kind of was the perfect tutor and guy." Nino said.
"So how come I got hired then?" Fuutarou asked.
"Ah." The girls all just stopped.
"Oh sorry, didn't mean to touch a sensitive topic." Fuutarou apologized.
"No no it's ok, you didn't know." Itsuki assured Fuutarou.
"Oh alright." Fuutarou slumped.
The table felt awkward now.
"We all liked him." Nino spoke up.
"It got to a point that we fought with each other and it made us go crazy just for this one guy." Nino continued.
"So he just decided to be the good man he is and left. He explained that it was for our well being and he didn't want to see us fight over him." Nino kept going.
"He was right. We were so torn apart that taking away the problem would probably fix everything." Nino finished.
"So yea… that was who he was." Nino said.
"I see. Well I thank you Nino." Fuutarou thanked.
"Y-yea no problem, of course." Nino replied.
They stayed at the cafe until Fuutarou's tutoring hours were done.
They left the cafe and started their walk home.
"They sky looks so dull." Fuutarou said.
"It makes me feel all gloomy." Yotsuba muttered.
"Yea it doesn't feel good." Fuutarou agreed.
The 6 of them decided to head back to the apartment. Fuutarou left his bag there anyways.
They rode up the elevator all the way to their floor. The camera in the corner blinked.
Fuutarou and the quints stepped out from the elevator and made their way to the apartment. Itsuki inserted the key and opened the door, allowing all of them of enter the apartment.
Fuutarou found his bag at the table. "Well I'll be on my way then. Thank you girls, see you tomorrow."
"Wait hold on!" Nino called out.
"Uh thank you for today. It was nice." Nino thanked Fuutarou.
"Yea no problem, it's the least I can do." Fuutarou said.
Thunder flashed outside the window.
"AHHH!" The quints all jumped onto Fuutarou, clinging onto him.
They stood there, all five hugging Fuutarou tight.
"Uhmm." Fuutarou cleared his throat.
"Ah!" All the quints let go and blushed hard.
"Sorry sorry." They all apologized at once.
"Alright hold on, turn the tv on." Fuutarou said.
They turned the tv onto the news channel.
"Looks like we were wrong, the storm has arrived early. We strongly advise going outside, the rain, wind, and thunder are not safe conditions to be out in." The weatherman said.
"Well now what?" Fuutarou said. "I can't go home."
"Well…" Itsuki went quiet.
"You could stay here I guess." She let out a cute little whimper.
"I guess I could." Fuutarou said.
"Are you girls fine with it?" Fuutarou asked.
"Yea I think it'll be fine." Nino said.
"What about Mr. Nakano?" Fuutarou asked.
"Eh he'll understand, plus I don't even know if he can get home either." Ichika said.
"So you're staying here then, it's decided." Ichika smiled.
"Just for the time being." Fuutarou said.
The storm was projected to last another 4 days.
Fuutarou would have to stay here for 4 days.
4 days.
