Sasuke stood in a barren wasteland, Naruto had died 2 years ago due to blood loss and since then the world has fallen. White Zetsu roam this earth hunting down survivors like sharks and blood, like vultures to a rotting corpes.

Kakashi fell during the Siege of Konoha

Sakura fell victim to chakra exhaustion

Most of Konoha 11 except for Ino, Hinata, Shino, and Sai were killed or died off in such fashions of heroism. Whatever was left of the shinobi world was in this small nomadic group of people. Sasuke had to learn as much as possible to survive. His rinnegan was lost, replaced by his brother's eye. He had replaced his left arm with a mechanical arm using suna's puppetry.

What event led this to happen? You may ask, well let me enlighten you. You see after the 4th Great Shinobi War. A delusional shinobi read the old tales and believed that Kaguya would give him a boon as repayment for freeing her. Although then the shinobi system was rather peaceful. This desperate man lost his family and was willing to do anything to get them back.

Believing that Kaguya would grant his wish. This man undid the work laid done by his dead comrades. He unleashed something catastrophic. It started with a chakra poisoning that no one had seen before. It slowly turned those infected into a white zetsu. These Zetsu slowly morphed into a creature so cruel and disgusting, it would be too graphic to describe.

An event followed. The moon shattered. Pieces of it crashed into the earth, spread chaos and an opportunity for the Zetsu to strike at the vulnerable. This disaster was dubbed the "Catalyst". The world was plunged into cruelty and despair. All because of man too broken to understand his actions.

Scene Change

Sasuke sat in his tent, he opened a book and read. The book was labelled | Sealing for the masses | it was a gift to him from his late best friend. He was writing this to give any person a chance of fighting those Zetsu monsters. As the night went, he grew bored of the book and thought of how well his little settlement was doing came to the forefront of his mind. The walls were setup and sturdy and they had just setup the beginnings of a permanent house. Things were looking up.

Still thinking of how well his rag-tag group of shinobi and civilians were doing, he slowly dozed off. He dreamed off the future. This dream slowly devolved into a nightmare, his brother stood before him and repeated the same question "Was it worth it?", his brother then morphed into his bestfriend repeating the same question, then rinse and repeat for Sakura and Kakashi.

Then they all appeared before him. Slowly getting closer while Sasuke tried to build distance. He was backed into the corner. Whilst the group was approaching while also increasing their volume from whispers to screaming this went until Itachi approached with a kunai and made moves to stab him.

The knife went in slow motion to Sasuke, right before the kunai stabbed into his chest. He awoke with a start. He jumped from the bed, summoned his chokuto a seal on his forearm, and got into a stance. It took a moment until he realized he wasn't in his tent, but in a wooden cabin. Sat on the ground before him was a scared elderly woman. Sasuke did a quick inspection of himself, his arm was still there, his clothes and cloak is still on his body, and his Chakra was still working.

He lowered himself, face to face, to the still cowering elderly woman and asked

"Where am I?"

LONG A/N: I know, I started a story before making much progress on "Scroll with back up plans suck!" But listen, this has been on my mind for a long ass time. The whole catalyst event is very similar to RWBY and the Grimm and I will say it was heavily inspired by it. I will probably put more effort into this story than "SWBUPS!" as it's more interesting to me. This first part is really just a blank canvas. Anyways this version of sasuke is gonna be a seal master and will work with esdeath and get in night raid as a spy.
