"Please don't hurt me" said the shaking old lady.

"Please, my grandson just turned 3 and my daughter just had a daughter an-and"

Before the lady could say another word in her frightened ramble, Sasuke interrupted.

"Look at me" he said in a stern voice

"I'm not gonna hurt you, I just want answers"

Sasuke extended his left hand to help her get off the floor and on her feet. The old lady looked up from the floor and at the tall raven haired man's extended hand. Noticing the details that it was made from metal and wood. She took the hand and with the help of Sasuke was raised from the floor. She now stood in front of him.

"Answers? Depending on what you ask, I can give you them. Although I'm not smart as say a noble's son but I do have experience"

The old lady explained still in a timid voice. She didn't want to anger the man who moments ago had a blade in his hands.

Sasuke gesturing with his right hand to a chair across from the bed he once slept in. He moved to sit on the edge of the mattress.

"What's your name?" The woman said trying to start a conversation to ease her mind

"Sasuke Uchiha"

"So, Sasuke, what questions do you have?"

"Who are you?"

"I'm Verilla, the caretaker for the local orphanage"

"Where am I?"

Hearing this, Verilla paused. Surely this grown man knew where he was before he fell unconscious, deciding to indulge him lest he decides to behead her with that blade he made appear out of thin air.

"This is Rion, a small village about 4,500 km from the capital of the Empire"

The Empire? Sasuke has never heard of such place? Sasuke inquired about the "Empire"

The old lady look at him with pity, believing that Sasuke was an amnesiac, she said

"The Empire is the country where Rion is located"

Sasuke still not understanding ask more and more questions. Seeing that Sasuke was asking many questions where the normal peasant would already know the answer to, made Verilla sad. She took it upon herself to educate Sasuke. For long gone was the intimidating man replace by a man who knew nothing of the world just like the many young children in her orphanage.

1 year Time skip: Line break: Scene change

Sasuke once again stood in an empty field, away from the buildings and house of Rion. He called Rion his home for the past year. After talking to Verilla, he was left to stew in his own brain. He was offered a place to stay and food in exchange for helping around the village. He knew many people and many people knew him.

"SASUKE" yelled a short black haired boy while running towards him

When he got close enough to to Sasuke. He attempted to stop himself but managed to trip and collide into the taller man, launching both of them into the ground.

"What is it you want, Tatsumi?"

"When are you gonna teach me how to use a sword?"

"Why would you want to use a sword?" Asked Sasuke genuinely curious

"Because I wanna slay all of the monsters and be the hero!" Smiled the young Tatsumi

"I'll teach you when you get older"

"But I'm old enough now"

Sasuke flicked Tatsumi's forehead just like Itachi did to Sasuke. You see when he left the doors of the orphanage, young child followed him for about three days. When Sasuke got fed up with his little stalker, he confronted the child and since then their relationship slowly became more of older and younger siblings.

It's been about 2 years since the last time he saw Tatsumi. Sasuke left to the Capital in search of a proper way back home to his settlement. Surely they would be able to survive without him for some time, but he'd rather not test how long they'll last for much longer, it's already been three years since he woke up in Rion. Sasuke drifted between villages doing odd jobs and bounties, building a reputation of a jack of all trades all whilst still making his way to the capital.

As he was walking a dirt road, 7 bandits came out the bushes and surrounded him in a haphazard circle. The one in front of Sasuke spoke

"Give up your money and we'll let you go"

"Hn"

Sasuke did not doubt for a second they wouldn't actually do so. He's dealt with such scum before, once while protecting a caravan and another whilst escorting his client to a trade town both times they got what they asked and still attacked. Both times they were liberated away from their souls.

Sasuke didn't even give them so much a chance of attacking him, summoning and drawing his chokuto in one fluid motion, he sliced the head cleanly off of the one who spoke, one moment passed and he was already in front of another one slicing the man in chest from shoulder to waist. One went for an over head strike on Sasuke, only to be blocked and kicked away. Another went for a stab, Sasuke replaced himself with another bandit. The one who went for the stab, ended up stabbing his comrade.

Another rushed at him swinging, the raven haired man simply side swiped and stabbed the bandit in his neck. One bandit ducked into upper cut but before he could even launch the punch his arm was neatly cut off and he was punched into another bandit. The last two dropped their weapons and ran towards the trees but a thrown kunai to the base of their necks solved that problem.

Flicking the blood of his sword, and going to collect his two kunai. He noticed that some of them had imperial soldier ID tags on them. Taking them of their corpses, he went and searched through their pockets for anything useful. Finding nothing more than a couple of coins and pocket lint. Sasuke shrugged and continued on his way.

After walking about a kilometer he decided it was good idea to rest for the day. Setting up his tent and campfire, Sasuke unsealed his rations of water and some ration bars he made. He went to collect some herbs to make a tea. While traveling he mistaken a herb for another but discovered that this plant was able to speed his Chakra production and stimulate his Chakra into healing his body. After drinking his tea and eating the ration bar. Sasuke put out the fire, crawled into his tent and fell asleep into a dreamless sleep.

A/n hopefully the fight scene was up to snuff. I personally find it hard to write a fight that's not a 1v1. Anyways, I wanted to link Sasuke up to more characters. Sasuke is about 29 by the end of this chapter, by the time canon rolls around he'll be about 33. I was tempted to make .5 chapter to be able to see more of the connection between him and Tatsumi other than that brief moment but I find.5 chapters kinda cheesy, since when looking at the little info card it could say it has 20 chapter but it scams with the "here's 10 updates about my personal life, about 5 chapters of unnecessary filler about the MC painting a fence and 5 chapters of actual plot" either way hope you enjoyed
