James and Lily followed Dumbledore to his office , the headmaster told the gargoyle the password and they all climbed the stairs. James was very nervous they needed to see Harry now but now Dumbledore was insisting on them taking the veritaserum .

Dumbledore waved his wand and a vile of veritaserum came flying into his hand .

" now if you may" said Dumbledore politely

James nodded and opened his mouth , Dumbledore poured 3 drops of veritaserum. James eyes got unfocused , he was moving his head slightly.

"What is your name ?" Asked Dumbledore

"James potter"

Lily relaxed a bit , as soon as they got this over with she would go and see Harry .

"Who was your secret keeper?"

"Our secret keeper was Peter pettigrew who switched Positions with Sirius black"

Dumbledore didn't seem to move for a second, his hand shook slightly . This was the most extraordinary thing he has experienced.

"How" asked Dumbledore surprised

"What?" uttered lily

"How did you come black from the dead?"

"We don't know" replied lily

"Sorry professor, but I really want to make sure Harry is okay . Voldemort came to our house and Harry was nowhere to be found. I thought he might be with you. Please tell me he is okay , he is only so little." Blurted lily

They didn't know thought Dumbledore , they didn't know that it had been 14 years since they had died.

"Dumbledore?" asked James questionably

Dumbledore shook

"There is something I must tell you."

"What is it?" Murmured James

"Lily and James, it has been 14 years since you both have died , Harry is about to turn 15."

"What!" Gasped lily and James

Lily's mind was racing; her son was about to turn 15 while she herself was something about 24 years. She has missed her child's childhood. She hasn't grown up watching after him and all this time she thought that Harry would be 1 years old sleeping in his cradle, probably crying for her.

This brought tears to lily's eyes, James put his hand on her back soothingly.

"Can we meet him?"asked James , still holding lily. At this lily looked straight up and made contact with Dumbledore , his eyes no longer containing the twinkle . His eyes showed nothing but sadness.

"What is wrong"asked lily

"I must tell you I did it for the best , you may not see it now but it was for Harry from the best interest of my heart.' Said Dumbledore " he is currently living with petunia and vernon dursleys"

The single word James could utter after hearing this was "Sirius?"

" Sirius black' said Dumbledore " was in Azkaban and had only escaped 2 years back"

"Why?" Shrieked James

"He seem to be charged guilty of a crime he didn't commit"

James fell with a thud on the floor , maybe it was because his muscles were still sore or it was probable the news he received.

"I must also tell you" said Dumbledore hastily , lily looked up " that Harry's childhood has not been a normal one"
