This is a training montage, a way to speed through the training and make time go by faster.
Two weeks into Mika's Three months of training.
In a Random Clearing
"Wind chakra is all about grinding your chakra like two blades," Asuma said, showing off the energy on one of his chakra blades. It was perfectly straight and sharp.
Mika mimicked him perfectly, the technique almost identical to the chakra saber technique Raido taught him. "Like this?'
"Match it against mine!" They clashed against each other, sliding blade against blade, sparks flying off of their blades. " I think you mastered it, at least enough to start with the Leaf splitting exercise. That will increase your mastery, by miles and make your blade shaper, take less chakra and be far stronger."
Mika nodded. "Show me where to start."
And so, Asuma got him started.
Across the field, Yakumo was moving through her taijutsu and kenjutsu exercises on the water nearby, her body has already shown signs of gaining muscle and strength. Her movements were not the most graceful, but they were solid and they were developing and it was remarkable to see how far she had progressed so far. Asuma knew she would be genin level in no time at all.
"Ghost, I want you watch me. I want you to eventually mimic me, in one way or another, Chakra flow to your claws will make you quite dangerous!"

"Seals are so hard!" Mika complained to Ghost, groaning loudly as he read the scrolls in front of him. "They require so much thinking, and complex mathematical and kanji formations, it is a mixture of literature and math and science and art!"
Ghost laughed at him in his head. 'Your fault, you are choosing to do it.'
"Brat!" Mika turned back to the scrolls and continued to read, letting the headache form as it wanted to. "I have met my match, the one thing I cannot master in minutes... fucking seals. There are literally millions of combinations of kanji, mixed with chakra output, chakra type, ink type, paper type, blood vs ink, chakra vs ink and so many other things. It is ridiculously complicated. This will take me at least six months to reach even a level two mastery, two out of ten. I asked Tsunade, she is a level eight and Kakashi is a level six and it took them all years as high geniuses with clan help and the Fourth Hokage helping Kakashi. Tsunade is a freaking Uzumaki taught by the legendary Mito and it took her a decade to reach her mastery."
Ghost purred, rubbing into Mika's arm, exchanging chakra in a soothing display of comfort. 'You can do it, I have faith in you, Daddy.'
That managed to soothe Mika's nerves at least a little.

One month into Mika's training sabbatical
Mika wanted to cry, looking at Ghost in his little Uniform. He was now wearing his own grey vest, with the Leaf Symbol on it. "I am so proud of you Ghost!" It had taken two weeks longer to build his chakra levels to the point he was allowed to become a ninja cat, but here he was, officially a Ninja cat and Mika's partner! He had passed his three tests. Sickness and health detection training with Hana. Tracking and basic combat training with Tsume. Obedience training with Mika himself.
Ghost purred and beamed, licking his paws in a pleasing way. " I tried so hard, thank you, Daddy."
Mika held the cat close, kissing his little nose. "Now we can test your chakra element now that you have developed your chakra enough!" Mika held out a tiny piece of paper that Ghost channeled chakra into via his paws. It crumbled away very fast and Mika beamed. "You are an Earth elemental, that is a great thing. Cats are known diggers, who knows what you can do! And I know for a fact that you can use Earth chakra to bolster your strength and durability, which a tiny cat needs to fight in taijutsu. Plus, you can use it to harden your fur, which you shed so freaking much of! I have so many ideas but for now! It is treat time, I am going to get you a new brush and some toys, and some catnips and so much chicken wet food!"
Ghost beamed, smashing his face into Mika's chin, wordlessly showing his excitement. "Daddy, can I learn the Mystic Palm now? Or my version of it anyway?"
Mika nodded. "Yes, but first we want to build you reserves up and your control. You can start training your taijutsu over the water, while I do my ken and tai and silent killing training! This is going to be so awesome. In two months, we can easily get your chakra levels to Low to Mid Genin which would make you able to do the Mystic Palm for at least one person to stem bleeding or easing pain! Since you, like your Daddy, can siphon chakra, you can likely turn a person's own chakra into healing chakra if they are strong enough... so useful either way!
Oh and don't forget you are training with Tsume in tracking with chakra enhanced taijutsu starting tomorrow and increase conditioning so you can join me on missions. She agreed to help with that, animal chakra coils are different so you cannot just mimic me. She is also going to help you use the Shushin, so you can really take advantage of your speed. Remember, speed training is a huge part of your combat training. You have two months to become Genin level overall, I think you can do it, I know you can.
Now, let's go get your stuff."

The next day, while Ghost is training with Tsume
Focusing, Mika watched as water gathered on his blade. Turing, he twisted and threw the water square on the target. "Bullseye!" He beamed. "Now I just need to mix that with poisons and I have a great dispatching method, and without it I can blind my enemies. Thank you Asuma for the Flying Swallow Lessons, they translate so well to other things." Putting his blade away, Mika allowed his chakra to pool in his palms, and slowly a small pool of water formed. "And my water manipulation has skyrocketed lately. I am almost at regular mastery! Pity the next stage takes so much power..." Sighing, Mika shifted his focus and the water exploded into Mist, a thick dense mist that covered the entire training field.
Pulling out his blade once more, he moved gracefully through his katas, having an imaginary fight with an imaginary person. He made no sound as he flew through them, slicing and stabbing, aiming for vital locations. It took nearly two hours of his time, and he was rather worn out by it's end, but Mika could not help but notice a severe increase in power, skill and dexterity.
Dismissing the Mist, he turned back to the tree he had been shooting the water.
"Now, time for some more reading... on which water jutsu I want to learn. I need at least one ranged jutsu, Asuma was right... the water trumpet jutsu sounds great. Pity no one here can teach me the water clone jutsu, that would be nice... why my advanced control and water affinity skills, I should be able to cast higher and lower water jutsu with only the minimum chakra output, making it so less wasteful. Finally results for power...
And in two hours, I get more genjutsu training with Unkai. Today is going to be focused on using techniques to mask my presence like the false and double false surroundings. I know that you can mix elemental jutsu into genjutsu. Why not water and my mist... so many ideas... I cannot wait. I need more of me. Pity that the shadow clone is a no go... I could use the training applications of it...pity."

With Ghost at The Inuzuka compound.
"Pick up the pace, Ghost!" Tsume said, rushing through the woods, leaping from tree to tree with Ghost following right behind as fast as he could. She was a beast, Tsume and Ghost was a little afraid of her but he liked her. She could understand him, and she was fun to talk to ... even though she was still sad from losing Kiba, he could smell that.
'I am trying, but you are very fast, Tsume.' Remembering his lessons with her, he channeled chakra into his paws pads and leaped as far and as fast as he could, overtaking Tsume and kicking her with another chakra burst making her fall back.
She laughed, loudly. "Very nice, excellent form! Keep this up and in two months you will be a real taijutsu user! Some of my pups could learn a thing or two from you... Kiba could have." Her tone shifted, and Ghost saw tears on her face.
Rushing to her, he licked them away. "I am here for you, Tsume." His training as an emotional support cat, being held and nurturing sick and injured ninja while he Mika worked as a medic really came in handy with this. Purring loudly, he pushed chakra into her, not expecting anything in return, knowing it was soothing.
She petted him back, sighing. "I will always miss my son, my pup... but I know now, that his death was not in vain, Mika has used it as a way to bolster his own skills and inspire others to be better. We live in a dangerous time, and we all need to improve..."
"Daddy is good like that."
"So are you, kit... now... enough tears, it is time for work. I refuse to lose you too! We will continue to work on your conditioning, especially your stamina and speed. I want you able to keep up for missions and battles. Then we move into taijutsu! Sound fair?"
"Yes, ma'am!"

One Month and two weeks into Training Sabattical.
"Chakra scalpels require more control than nearly any other form of medical jutsu." Shizune started. "It requires a careful hand so as to not puncture the wrong organ or muscle. You need to be extremely focused! You are just shy of a level three medic, able to act independently under the supervision of a level four or five medic, to treat and heal wounds. At that level you can not only heal moderate wounds in battle, but you can also participate in surgeries. Prepare for B and Rank Medical missions, Mika! The chakra scalpel is a huge part of that! For minor or major surgery!"
Mika frowned. "What about battle?"
"Only Kabuto, as far as I have seen, can use them like that..." She sighed. "You have the skills to one day do so, I imagine... "
"Awesome, but until then let's focus on mastery! I am so close to be able to close stage two wounds with just my own Mystic Palm! My chakra levels are finally bordering on Mid Chunin and my control has never been better! I think I have even found my specialty too! As a ninja... I want to be a rescue Ninja. To find, rescue and heal ninjas on failed missions. I also think I want to be on the Hokage guard. What do you think?"
Shizune beamed. "I think you would be a fantastic addition to either, I will speak to Lady Tsunade about it! Now, let's work on your scalpel. Remember, only work on the dummy until I give you the okay!"

"Wow!" Hana said, watching Ghost glow a weak green, his entire body glowing. "Using your purrs to focus the chakra by rhythm not unlike sound based genjutsu, very smart!"
Ghost said nothing, focusing his chakra on the dummy he was curled up on. He had to give up after a minute, having too little chakra. 'I am making progress, but I am thinking that penetrative chakra manipulation is going to be hard until I get more control and chakra.'
Hana nodded. "Likely, but you are making incredible progress!"
"Thank you! How long til I get basic mastery, to just stop bleeding?"
"At least,.. well to be honest, likely around the time you and Mika's sabbatical is over. If you are basing it solely on the pace you are going now. Seriously, you are a brilliant cat, as smart as your daddy!"
That made Ghost purr like crazy. "I want to be all he needs, he raised me up when I could have been put down. I owe him but I also like the fight and I like being recognized as my own being. I like helping..."
"So do most of our dogs. Now... why don't we try something different... you have mastered the basics of cancer and sickness detection but what about poison detection? That would really help Mika out. Same with detecting chakra spikes and types through your nose. I cannot teach you my clan styles but the basics are usable by anyone so why not learn them right?"
And Ghost knew, right then, that he would be a real badass when he reached his peak.
