Reimu: Uhhh….
Reimu got so drunk that she couldn't move her body in the next day
Reimu: Something feels off…I didn't remember I drink that much...HEY!
Suddenly she saw Vạn Thư sleeping on the floor on the other side of her room
Vạn Thư: Huh? Hold on! What are you doing in my rent house!?
Reimu: This is my shrine! Look around you!
But to their surprise they are in an entire different room!
Vạn Thư: Wait…I know this one! It's the Scroll of Illusionary Dimension!
Vạn Thư then began to chant her spell to end the illusion. The scene came into reality again. This time they were sleeping inside the Hakurei Shrine.
Reimu: I though you was out of power? Other told me that you run out of magic back then.
Vạn Thư: I was, yet that scroll had been missing for decades since the war started.
Reimu: Why though?
Vạn Thư: That's a good question. I don't know it either.
Reimu: WHAT!?
Reimu showed a dumbfounded face while Vạn Thư sat down with a headache
Vạn Thư: Long story short I was being curious about the function of that scroll so I decided to test it in my library. For some freaky reason the ritual didn't work properly so it just disappeared into nowhere and I gave up searching for it.
Reimu: So it just trapped us in some random place?
Vạn Thư: Can't be sure since I couldn't check its purpose properly back then but it could transport any people to a real life location but it could locate at anywhere across all dimensions. In either way I couldn't conclude since my teacher already passed away and he didn't understand some of it either.
Marisa: Hey Reimu did you read the newspaper? Some random people suddenly disappeared out of nowhere! Oh by the way who is she?
Reimu: She is the author of Hakoniwa Records. Anyway give me that newspaper.
Everyone read the newspaper and began to feel weird, Vạn Thư shouted in panic
Vạn Thư: This is impossible! Unless I activated it otherwise it couldn't trigger randomly like this!
Reimu: You didn't answer me why you could chant the spell even if you run out of magic long ago.
Vạn Thư: It is possible to disable it with a chant even without any magic left, that's the false-safe mechanism of all scrolls in my library. Unless you tried to create a new scroll or activate it then I need some magic to use it.
Suddenly Yukari walked into the shrine on foot
Marisa: Yukari walked to the shrine on foot!? What kind of madness is this!?
Marisa and Reimu couldn't believe in their eye that Yukari would walk all the way to the shrine instead of using her portal!
Reimu: You did this don't you!?
Reimu grabbed the collar of Yukari with an angry face but Yukari explained
Yukari: You are not the only one who is in trouble. I just got thrown out of my own boundaries and I had to come here on foot to ask you about it!
Vạn Thư: I heard that there was some magical creatures living between the dimensions, it seem like she would be one of them.
Marisa: You mean Yokai? We have this kind of definition in Gensokyo.
Vạn Thư: Yeah, anyway if you could find the Scroll of Illusionary Dimension please hand it back because without my chant it won't stop casting spell. Also, how could you cast my scroll when I was supposed to be the only one who could do that?
Marisa: I don't think your Hakoniwan rule applied here when Yukari was a Yokai who is hundred years older than you and extremely powerful.
Yukari: Sadly it suddenly disappeared out of my hand just like how it suddenly appeared in my boundaries without any explanation. I only performed the scroll ritual out of curiosity but I got casted out of my own boundaries within a pinch.
Vạn Thư: I NEED TO BURN THAT SCROLL NOW! WHY DID YOU ACTIVATE IT WITHOUT ANY CAUTION!?
Vạn Thư pinched Yukari cheek in anger
Reimu: You started it, you fixed it!
Reimu waved her Gohei aimlessly as a way to shoo Yukari away
Yukari: Sadly I couldn't
Yukari demonstrated how she failed to open her portal
Reimu: Impossible! The scroll actually blocked your ability to open the portal!?
Everyone was shocked as Yukari tried to activate her ability to open the portal but to no avail
Reimu: So a powerful and ancient Yokai like Yukari couldn't enter the portal…
Vạn Thư: I think there is only one way left: search for a way in.
Reimu: Huh?
Vạn Thư: The scroll was being named Illusionary Dimension, that's mean it must have a portal of some sort so that it could kidnap people into the designed location. If we could track down the location of it then we could figure where to find it.
Yukari had been sitting inside the shrine to think of a way to get back to her boundaries, so far she couldn't figure out any idea. Just when she was about to enter Reimu's futon to sleep as she feel bored…
Reimu: GET OUT OF MY ROOM, GAP YOUKAI!
Reimu kicked Yukari's butt in anger!
Later on
Marisa, Reimu and Vạn Thư began to search for the Kappa to get their signal tracking device
Vạn Thư: Are you sure the Kappa race could help us? I don't even have a clue how that thing worked.
Marisa: I don't know it worked either. Yet the Kappa was extremely smart with their invention so I'm sure it would work.
Vạn Thư: Right…
Reimu: I don't understand. How come you cast a ritual and the scroll just went mad on its own?
Vạn Thư: A good magical scroll needs to be in a good shape since each of the scrolls only does one job for the sake of efficiency. Losing a few words inside the scroll could cause it to go haywire and its function will act in a weird way.
My library is vulnerable to all kind of weather hazard that could damage or alter the scroll function completely. Sometime I have to recheck each of those scrolls to see if it could be used or not.
Marisa: So the reason why the Scroll of Illusionary Dimension worked in a weird way was because of moisture and other environmental reason?
Vạn Thư: Pretty much, since I followed my teacher advice I had to recheck it again once in a while. It was expected that some would gone viral once in a while like this one. Even if the fact those scrolls had the ability to disable itself upon my chanting without any magic left as a plan B.
Reimu: Was there any way to track down its location? Some sort of scroll that could track any target?
Vạn Thư: Already tried it, can't find any. The only way to disable it was to burn it or using my chanting to temporarily disable it.
Marisa: Hold on! You told me you already disabled the scroll with your chanting earlier. How come people still went missing after that!?
Vạn Thư: Oh!
Vạn Thư, Reimu and Marisa suddenly realized something wrong
Vạn Thư: Yukari told me that she activated it by using her ritual but she got kicked out of her dimension instantly. But then…who activated it before then?
Marisa: Maybe someone else before that? If you came from Hakoniwa then there must be someone else from another location wasn't it?
Vạn Thư: But they need to be as much powerful as Yukari to do so…
Eventually they met Nitori but she and her team had been conducting their plan on their own
Nitori: I know you would come here. We had been detecting an unusual presence inside the village so far. Also, who was she?
Marisa: Author of Hakoniwa Records, anyway she is here to search for the Scroll of Illusionary Dimension in order to burn it to end the incident.
Nitori: Based on what we found so far the signal lead to that place.
Marisa: Suzunaan!?
Vạn Thư: Huh? I thought Kosuzu was just a normal book renter?
Reimu: Normal!? She is a biggest collector of youma books and she is extremely obsessive with it!
Vạn Thư: Youma books?
Marisa: It's just like your scrolls! Its magical books and scrolls that were being written by Yokai and it carried all sort of magic inside.
Vạn Thư: So I was wrong about her then…but my scrolls aren't being written by any Yokai! It was being written by librarians like us!
Reimu: Librarian could be Yokai too…
Vạn Thư looked at Reimu with a dumbfounded look
Marisa: Ehem, are you two listening? We need to go to Suzunaan now!
At Suzunaan, they only found an empty place with a scroll on the table. It was the Scroll of Illusionary Dimension. Everyone began to gather as Vạn Thư chanted her spell again to disable it then burned the scroll right after that.
Everyone including Kosuzu came back to Gensokyo right at Suzunaan and she began to explain what happened before that. Vạn Thư then concluded everything at the shrine.
Vạn Thư: So everything made sense now, Yukari activated it first upon curiosity when it appeared in her dimension then it disappeared away into Gensokyo. Maybe after I disabled it with my chant it ended up in Suzunaan by accident. Kosuzu read it again by curiosity and ended up spirited away by that same scroll.
Marisa: Why it didn't teleport away again when it activated in Suzunaan?
Reimu: Maybe it had something to do with her youma books? Those youma books were being notorious for affecting all things from living beings to objects.
Vạn Thư: Unless you are extremely powerful normal people couldn't activate it.
Reimu: But Kosuzu had been interacting with many youma books and those books could affect other objects like your scroll through its magic. She could become very dangerous to the point I had to keep an eye on her once in the past.
Yukari: But why it blocked my ability to open portal into that place then?
Vạn Thư: Who's know? Even I failed to fully understand the capability of the scroll because it was an extremely old scroll and I didn't have a chance to ask my teacher about its function. What I know so far is that it was supposed to transport people from various designed locations into a singular location so that people could exit to another place once its duration ended or the user disabled it.
Instead it went nuts and people just randomly get teleported. And in a very freaky case, Yukari got kicked out instead. The scroll was currently highly unstable and extremely crazy to the point it couldn't know how to work its function properly anymore.
Yukari began to think deeply while retreating back to her portal
Reimu: To sum up everything the scroll could teleport people into a certain location then released all of them at another location at the same time.
This was why the scroll dropped me and Vạn Thư at my shrine then everyone else at Suzunaan because it activated twice!
Vạn Thư: Still, I'm glad that I burned it. No more stupid teleportation.
Vạn Thư showed everyone about her burned scroll. It was nothing more than a burning rod. Eventually she disposed it by tossing it to the river.
Vạn Thư: But, who actually activated it before it ended up in Yukari's dimension?
She began to look into the sky with a deep though, something still feel wrong but she couldn't think of a clue
Somewhere at the riverbank in Gensokyo, a random fisherman girl walked through the thick forest searching for something along with a whisper: 'I hope I could find my creator soon, this place looked like a maze'
As she dragged the fishing net containing various scrolls inside she feel tired as her breath began to feel heavy
